Username: Zylvanness Name:Maverly Asche Nickname:Canary (by only her father) Race:Half-Elf Ethnicity:Caucasian Gender:Female Orientation:Heterosexual Alignment:Lawful Neutral Affinity:Air Age:32 Birthday:August 1st Height:5' 10" Weapon:Riding Crop Magic: Evocation/Conjuration/Divination
E - Summon ~ Air Sphere: (Rank C) With this ability Maverly summons a spherical barrier around herself from the elemental plane of air. This can be used to protect herself or those close by for a small amount of time. The more she concentrates the longer and more she can defend herself from before it collapses unnaturally - resulting in nausea. E - Sunset Missile: (Rank D) Names for the colour of her magic, these magical missiles are projected from her riding crop or hands. These missiles don't cause devastating damage but are enough to warn off threats. The missiles are cast in groups of 1-3. E - Sunset Cascade: (Rank C) Maverly sets up a flurry of magic missiles, often in a ring before releasing them to shoot outwards, homing towards a target in her line of sight. This ability is far more powerful than Sunset Missile. E - Sunset Lotus: (Rank A) At her command, Maverly concentrates her magic into a singular spot and shoots a 'seed' to a target location in her line of sight. When the spell hits it grows a large flower bulb of raw magic. As the bult grows it causes the air around it to spiral out of control before finally blooming and exploding. C - Summon ~ Walking Armour: (Rank C) With concentration Maverly can produce a single familiar in the shape of walking armour in the form of magical sunset-coloured aura. The walking armour cannot venture too far from Maverly or it is dismissed, and it is utterly under her control. The summon comes in two different forms, depending on what Maverly desires at the time. Defender or Attacker, one with a giant shield or one with a giant sword. (Once expelled or destroyed this summon must recharge for an hour) C - Summon ~ Birds: (Rank D) For a hasty distraction Maverly can summon a flurry of birds to ascend from the ground around her, letting her make a quick and sort retreat if there's cover nearby. C - Summon ~ Stag: (Rank D) At Maverly request she may summon a great Stag for her to mount, making long distance travelling much easier for her. E - Decimation Web: (Rank B) This spell absolutely must be channelled. Maverly can expel most of her mana to create a web of magical wires around her. The spell is initially mana costing, but is relatively stable once created. If any living person or creature is to touch the web they cause a magical explosion. In most cases Maverly uses this technique to keep people away from her less they want to get hurt from their own doing. As a spell of her own creation, it barely (physically) hurts herself. D - Conceal ~ Door: (Rank C) With around an hour of preparation and incantation Maverly can cause a single room of a building to be concealed. Maverly must have already seen many other doors in a single building for this to work, and must have them memorised to some extent or the spell will not work. The larger the building the more difficult and time consuming this is for her to create, unless she knows the building extremely well (such as her home). Conceal ~ Door, once activated, swaps the door to the room she is in with another somewhere in the building. Someone on the outside must find the correct door in order to find the room she is within. For a small cost of her mana afterwards, she can adjust which door is the right door. Maverly cannot keep this spell in place whilst outside of the building. She also cannot change the 'correct' door when not inside the room itself. (Can only be used once per day)
Relationships: ❖ Calder Asche (Elf Father) ❖ Alette Asche (Human Mother) ❖ Aber Asche (Deceased Brother) ❖ Roswal Asche (Younger Brother - Asche Family Heir) ❖ Emilia (Former Magic Tutor)
Strengths: ✔ Confident ✔ Well-spoken and presented ✔ Knowledgable: All those years of reading aren't wasted, it's just a matter of actually using that knowledge. ✔ Horse Rider: Maverly is an excellent horse rider and can usually make friends with other horses or mounts. ✔ Dancing and Singing: Years of etiquette forced on her by her father have made her quite the dancer and the singer, only when she wants to, however. ✔ Magic precision: Maverly's knack for magic and mana is favourable thanks to her heritage, and her etiquette classes (and others) have made her precise. ✔ Money: Maverly doesn't usually have to worry about money, thanks to her father's business, that doesn't mean that she always has access to it though.
Weaknesses: ✘ Stubborn: Asche is stubborn and cold towards new people, preferring to keep to herself, often proving difficult when making new friends or allies. She prefers to be impressed and then make friends. ✘ Family in Distress: Maverly's soft-spot is towards families that are suffering, or almost any individual who is suffering at the hands of someone else. She doesn't pity those that don't help themselves, however. ✘ Her young age as a half-elf makes her somewhat naive at times. ✘ Maverly can be quick to anger, which often limits her magical capabilities and concentration. ✘ Any talk surrounding her brother is a sour subject, it will end in an angry Maverly or a sad Maverly. ✘ Confined spaces: Maverly's magic often requires enough space for her to move to create spells. ✘ Perfectionist: Maverly sometimes wastes time attempting to be perfect in her execution.
Likes: ✔ Flowers ✔ Animals of the elegant kind. No rodents, please. ✔ Reading and quiet alone time ✔ Her home, it has everything she needs. ✔ Good manners and people that present themselves well. ✔ Dancing ✔ The outdoors. ✔ People doing as she says ✔ Sunset: Maverly used to sit on the hills and watch the sun set with her brother.
Dislikes: ✘ Uncultured people ✘ Singing, it has become a task more than a hobby. ✘ Weather that's too hot, it makes her sweat. ✘ Weather that's too cold, it makes her fingers numb. ✘ Children that do not behave. ✘ Imperfections: she believes there's no excuse to not better yourself. ✘ Uncooperative people, even if she's uncooperative herself.
Personality: ❖ Maverly is a proud, independent and mentally strong person with a lot of character to show. She will always present herself well and is mortified by anyone that approaches her distastefully. She presents herself like a rose, but her thorns can prod and cut, like her insults or unwillingness to indulge with others she doesn't perceive as worth her time. Her upbringing has led her to be a mixture of expecting to get what she wants as well as being lonely and knowing that she needs to work hard for what she wants. Its a misconception that many often judge her for being getting to know her. Maverly prefers to keep to herself and doesn't usually go out of her way to interact with people that she doesn't need to. She lives by family traditions, expectations, personal laws and morals that are paramount to her life, breaking them or disrupting what she's organised is detrimental and chaotic to her.
Beyond her icy wall, she's actually a warming person, seeking friendship and understanding.
History: ❖ Maverly was born into the Asche family, most known for her father's reputation just outside of Lusia of Carmillion. Her parents are Alette Asche, a normal Human of Eldrin and Calder Asche, a Elven Mage. The two met when Calder came to Eldrin with his father (also a mage) on a business trip. His father had been a farmer for a long, long time and wanted to extend his trading relations and connections, much to Calder's suggestion anyway. Alette and Calder quickly fell in love, and it wasn't long until Alette was migrating to Carmillion to live and work with Calder shortly before his father's death. Calder made his reputation and earnings after developing his own father's ideas. They were agricultural plans nonetheless but it also meant hiring many Knights to keep his establishment safe. Calder considered his agricultural model something to be praised and protected, since it was comprised of various magical spells that ensured a good and bountiful harvest. Calder was a genius when it came to mana manipulation, and followed the patterns he'd learned in the natural evolution of mana in the world to perfect his gardens and fields.
Maverly was born some years after Calder's taking over of the family land and it's earnings. As a half-elf she aged differently than others she knew of but that didn't bother her because rarely did she meet anyone outside of the Asche family or their closest friends. She was never an only child, either. Before her came her brother, Aber. As the first-born son of the Asche family he was to be the heir to the Asche family name and by the time Maverly was born he was already learning everything he must in order to represent the family. The two of them grew up through most of their adolescent years as best friends. Together they were put through classes after classes in etiquette and magic to follow their father in his Mage footsteps. There was a time when they had a friendly rivalry, attempting to better each other to impress their father who always had a close eye on them.
As they began to mature at the end of their teen years Maverly had loved to read and hide herself away in the family library, only coming out when she had to or when she wanted to go horse riding. It was during this time that she began to spend a surprising amount of time with her magic tutor, Emilia. Her father was more than cautious when it came to assuring his children's safety and their behaviour, and so out of the several knights he had hired he would pick unlucky individuals to keep watch over Maverly and her habits of solitude in the library. As the days went by, weeks even, she grew tired of their gazing and interference with her reading. She asked Emilia to teach her Divination of a specific skill tree, one that would allow her to manipulate doors. Emilia regrettably refused however, saying Calder's expectations did not include that school of magic. So, Maverly took it upon herself to learn from books. After some months she was able to put her master plan into effect and begin her reputation as a solitary, confident young woman. After collecting all of her mana and resting well before she began the spell that would allow her to connect the door to the library with any other door in the mansion, thus, giving the illusion that the library had vanished unless you found the correct door. The only person who could see through this was Calder, not even her mother could get past it.
At around the age of 18 her brother, Aber, fell severely ill. At first she would stay in the library. She had shelves upon shelves of re-organised sections, piles of read books, to-be-sorted books, useless books in the section at the corner of the room and must-reads paid out neatly at the front. She used her time to research what she could about her brother's ailment and it was all for nothing. She spent more and more time at his bedside, remembering the times they used to play and compete, when they had time for each other outside of their lessons and tasks set by their parents. She had told him she wished she did not spend so much time in the library... Everything changed when Aber's condition got worse and doctors gave the word that his illness was terminal.
Aber's death felt worse than anything she had ever experienced. Once she had thought that Calder's strict regime for her and her brother was too strict, was harsh and unforgiving... but nothing could compare or prepare her for saying goodbye to her brother for the very last time. Books couldn't solve everything. She had gone to her mother for support, giving up on residing at her father's shoulder when he became distracted by work. "How could he move on so quick?" she asked, "Why is father so cold?" and Alette's reply was only "everyone deals with pain differently. This is your father's way." Maverly asked her mother what to do and she learned a new lesson in life. Alette was the type of woman that would do anything to survive, she would do anything to secure the well-being of her children and her own life for their sake. Unbeknown to Maverly, part of the reason she married her father was a general assurance that their children would grow up with a good life, that she herself would have a good life, and at the same time she would have someone to love. She told Maverly that she must do what Alette had always done... "endure." The world, she told Maverly, was cruel, and it had not the room for withered flowers. So she must remain strong and push through.
Maverly began to take horse-riding more seriously from here on out, using it as a means to distract her from the death of her brother. She also took it upon herself to learn Evocation magic as a means to make herself stronger. What was the use of delicate and beautiful magic if it was just for show - something her father would never understand. Lessons preparing her as the new heir to the Asche family name became more strict with the rest of her now busier schedule. This time gone-by turned her cold and sufficient, but it also made her strong. She began to sing on behalf of her father as a means of making her father proud and representing the Asche name in public. She also began to learn how to run her father's business and how the world worked and how everybody else interacted with her family - and what it meant to have a status. She did not enjoy it, not really, but she did it because she had to. There was a day when she confronted her father about all the tiresome responsibilities he placed upon her and Calder was equally cold and supportive in his reply. "The world has no place for wilting flowers" he said, "it's sad but it's true, this world is cruel. Smile and wipe away your tears." His word's became engraved in her mind, making her work harder and harder for what she wanted to achieve. Finally, she began to understand her father's cold attitude - he must have experience tragedy and loss, or seen what it was to lose everything.
Everything changed again at the age of 21, when her parents had a new child. Another boy. His name is Roswal - heir to the Asche family name. Maverly was not sure how to feel. Half of her was happy to know a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. The other half of her felt like she had been stripped of all her worth just because of another boy in the family. It was not a quick transition, but slowly she knew Roswal would be the next chosen and not her as soon as he was old enough to make his own decisions. Calder would much prefer an heir to be trained from a younger age than Maverly was. It was only 2 years after this time that Maverly became Calder's ambassador, representing Calder on trips instead of him actually going and Roswal was official announced heir. At about 25 Maverly began to travel more on her own terms. She wouldn't return precisely when her father ordered or would purposely get tangled in other affairs.
She learned a great many new things and became more aware of the world around her which she was not taught. Military, for example. Though almost obsolete in Carmillion she had to question why they ought to rely on another kingdom, it was almost like a surrender as soon as tension broke. What if she asked herself. It was also during this time that she visited libraries beyond her own and personal interests caught the better of her. She got engrossed in the darker, deeper parts of knowledge, very specific chapters and only small amounts of an index giving her anything she was looking for. The penny dropped when her hunch could almost be real. She was researching magical illness. The kind that was inflicted, she always wondered how her brother who was so healthy, so innocent could die so young, especially for a half-elf. She tried bringing this up with her mother, but even Alette wasn't going to accept any of Maverly's ramblings. Maverly never thought to bring it up with her father, Calder would be more harsh than her mother ever was. So she took it upon herself, a personal quest to determine if her brother died by chance, or intentionally.
After being Calder's Ambassador for several years too long Maverly has realised now was the time for her to discover herself.
Thus, her journey began.

Alright, so, there is really only two problems with your profile, although one is a pretty big one. It seems that you have put about five or six different schools magic into her spells, which may have simply been a mistake. I will separate them off into groupings so that you know what school of magic each one would belong to.
Abjuration: - Deflect - Reflect - Sunset Lotus
Conjuration: - Summon ~ Walking Armour
Evocation: - Sunset Missile - Sunset Cascade
Divination: - Conceal ~ Door (This is placed her because it's less of a concealing spell, which would be illusion, and more of a temporal displacement spell, which would be divination.) - Sunset Sphere
Enchantment: - Paralyzing Web
The second problem with your profile is the spell Sunset Sphere. It makes very little sense why it would regenerate the user's mana if the user created it. I mean, the mana has to come from somewhere, so it's strange that something they created and filled with their mana would regenerate their mana unless it was just the mana they put into the spell originally.

Ah, looks like my reading of the magic school's capabilities was a bit off then... with this being said will this now limit what spells she can keep?
I see the problem with Sunset Sphere, makes sense. I can change it to just heal/ restore mana to others inside the sphere but not herself (because she cast it).

Well she definitely can't have spells that contradict her two schools of magic. You can have as many spells as you like though, as long as they fall into those two categories. Like, you could have a spell that casts wind discs that cut through stuff or something like that. Or, with conjuration, you can make summons that can protect her, like the walking armor that she can make. You just have to make spells that correspond with her schools.
As for the other ability, the problem as a spell was only with the mana replenishing being applied to her. As long as it does not do so, it makes sense. Still though, this is a divination-type spell. Which means to have something like this you would have to get rid of one of the other schools of magic your character has. If I would suggest anything, I'd recommend getting rid of the conjuration school, as it is the less efficient of the two you listed. Keep in mind, however, that you can only have spells that correspond to the two schools that you choose.

So, im in the midst of re-writing her spells and ive narrowed it down to Conjuration and Evocation, but I'm wondering if she could keep Conceal ~ Door as a single one-off Divination spell, since it's part of her bio she could have stupendously practised this one spell when she was younger?
If this isn't okay that's totally fine, i'll scrap it emotion_yatta

If this isn't okay that's totally fine, i'll scrap it emotion_yatta That's fine. You can keep that spell, it's not a big deal. Just add Divination as a third school. We suggest having a specialty because training in too many schools can lead to...less-potent spells. Given that it's only one mid-level spell that would fall under your Divination school, it's fine.

Force Barrier is still more in the realms of Abjuration, the use of mana to serve as a tool of defense or banishment; HOWEVER, if you're really looking for a shielding spell, I can make a suggestion: Conjuration. You could summon a wall of wind from the plane of air elementals (name it, if you want, dibs and what not xD) that blocks most magic, deters physical projectiles cause it's wind, etc... Sunset Lotus is a little intense for Rank C, so I'd suggest Rank A, but that's about all I have to say unless Ren has anything else.

Okay hopefully this should be the last edit, thanks for the help emotion_yatta
I might add that there could be some discrepancies in the Lore section about magic, just because evocation definitely suggests making defensive force walls.

Username: Yuudai Takashi Name: Oudin Blackheart Nickname: The Wandering One-eyed Knight Race: Half-Giant Ethnicity: Caucasian Gender: Male Orientation: Straight Alignment: Chaotic Good Affinity:Earth/Air Age: 21 Birthday: 27 September Height: 7 foot 6 inches Weapon: Fragarach- An Armament that has been part of the Blackheart Knights since their inception, rumoured to have been wielded by an ancient god, Fragarach is said to be a fierce storm in sword form. The blade possess the ability to generate a gust so condensed when swung, that it cleaves through any physical defences, though many in the Blackheart order believe that if the wielder swears him or herself to a powerful enough Mage, the swords power will ascend even further, allowing for the destruction of magical defences. All members of the order that manage to progress to Blackheart undertook a ceremonial test in order to find a master for the legendary sword.
Fragarach is Oudins primary weapon since proving himself worthy to the spirits residing inside the sword. Due to the sword's incredible size, being almost as tall as its half-giant wielder, as well as its weight, though to its wielder it feels as light as air, Fragarach is often confused for a bladed club rather than sword, though it is more than capable slicing things apart.
When unsheathed, even non-Mages can feel the power radiating from the blade, more than just the sheer intimidating size, it hums with power, giving off the feeling that, if he so wished, the wielder could cleave the world in twain.
Mage: (will add when paired)
Natural Abilities: ❖ Giants Strength: Having the blood of Giants coursing through his veins, there are few that can rival Oudin in pure physical power, even without a supply of mana from a mage to draw on. (B-rank, A-rank with extra mana supply) ❖ Fortitude: Due in part to his rigorous training with the Blackheart knights as well as his Giant blood, Oudin is more resistant to physical and magical damage than a normal man. (C-rank) ❖ Beserker Rage: While a fairly in control, Oudin sometimes finds himself giving in to the rage of his ancestors, when injured or angered enough, pushing his strength and speed above their already high levels. While in this state, seems to be able to ignore even the most grievous injuries, however when his rage has run its course, any injuries taken double in there severity, taking a massive toll on Oudins body, in most cases causing him to fall unconscious. (B-rank)
Magus Abilities: (Will add when paired up) ❖ ❖ ❖
Unison Abilities:(Will add when paired up) ❖ ❖ ❖
Relationships: ❖ Blackheart Knights- The organisation that found Oudin as a child and trained him in the ways of a true Knight. ❖Fenrir Blackheart- Knight-Adopted Father-Alive ❖ Mage (Will add when paired up)
Strengths: ✔ Chivalrous: Will always help and protect those that are in need, expecting little or no reward, making it easy for him to get on peoples good side. ✔ Master Swordsman: taught how to wield his oversized sword from a young age. ✔ Incredibly strong physically ✔ Fiercely loyal ✔ Surprisingly intelligent for a Knight ✔ Blackheart name: The Knights of the Blackheart order are renowned across the kingdoms as being among the bravest and strongest Knights.
Weaknesses: ✘ Blackheart name: While completely false, some people believe that the Blackheart Knights are Mage killers. ✘ Willing to throw down his life to protect Mages. ✘ While his speed is still impressive, the sword he wields hinders it, as well as his agility ✘ Due to his height and build, some people are intimidated by him.
Likes: ✔ Peace and quiet ✔ Practising and teaching swordsmanship ✔ Travelling, loves to see new places ✔ Alcohol such as mead and ale, a recently acquired taste ✔ Singing, only knows a few songs, has no formal training
Dislikes: ✘ Those that only think of money. ✘ Those that step on others to get what they want. ✘ People that think they are entitled to preferential treatment due to the family they were born into ✘ Hot, humid days- It makes wearing his armour uncomfortable... sweating is not very noble
Personality: ❖ An incredibly kind and usually quiet man, despite his appearance, Oudin is an almost perfect example of what a Knight should strive to be. Willing to help anyone in need, Oudin has been shown to calm even the most distraught of people with his deep, but well spoken voice and his surprisingly soft manner.
While calm and collected normally, Oudin is ferocious in battle, using his size and strength to force an enemy on the defensive. Oudin is also very protective of those he is loyal to, almost to a fault.
However while he is a true gentleman and a impressive warrior, Oudin is still young and as such has to deal with the same urges that those of his age usually have to deal with, which, for the most part, he manages.
History: ❖ Oudin never knew his parents, found abandoned as a newborn child by Fenrir Blackheart, a Knight of the Blackheart order. Taking pity on the child, Fenrir bought the unnamed child to a Blackheart monastery, located just north of Eldrin, pleading with the leaders of the order to allow the child to be cared for by the order, promising to shape him into a great warrior, to which the leaders agreed, naming the child Oudin and placing him in the care of Fenrir.
As Oudin grew he quickly learnt about the hierarchy of the Blackheart Knights worked. Anyone of any age could join the order, if they were willing to forsake their birth name and any claims to land they held. Initiates bore the name Whiteheart, to represent how fresh and new they were, they were seen as squires, performing small tasks and running errands for those above them. Those that were given the name of Greyheart were Knights-in-training, learning to wield sword, shield and spear. However not every Greyheart would proceed to Blackheart, the rigours of the often extreme training splitting the wheat from the chaff. Blackhearts were true Knights, fearless and incredibly strong, they were presented as hero to those lower in the order. Some lucky Whitehearts and Greyhearts would be taken under the wing of a Blackheart if they showed promise.
From the age of six Oudin began his training, in the service of Fenrir, his adopted father. Fenrir was a strict man, always pushing Oudin to do his best and expecting nothing less, many a day leaving Oudin drop-dead tired with all the chores and errands he made the young boy run.
By the time Oudin progressed to Greyheart, at age twelve, he already possessed greater strength and stamina than most of the other trainees, with his giant blood starting to show, leaving him standing a good foot and a half taller than most of his peers. Around age 16, Oudin was paired up another Greyheart for a sparing match to show the elders what they had learnt. Favouring the greatsword as his weapon of choice, Oudin far outclassed the other boy, much to the praise of the elders, however his opponent, jaded by his embarrassment, lashed out at an unarmed Oudin, the dagger he wielding finding its mark, slashing Oudins right eye. After many weeks of treatment, Oudin resumed his training like a man possessed, in order to make up for the loss of his eye.
Two years later, Oudin was given the name of Blackheart, in recognition of his rigorous training and service to the order. At the ceremony, he was told to approach the sacred Armament of the order, the ancient greatsword know as Fragarach. Remembering the often violent way the sword would reject those it deemed unworthy, Oudin was more than a little wary about touching the sword, but tradition was tradition. Oudin slowly reached for the handle of the sword, pausing briefly before gripping the handle, awaiting the magical backlash to send him flying, as it had so many before him... But that never came... Instead a warm feeling passed through his arm, filling his body, then a voice, speaking in Oudins head, "It has been many seasons since one such as you has approached me young one... The blood of my master courses through thy veins... I shall serve you, as I did him...", the voice faded away as quickly as it had come. Oudin gripped the sword tighter, before lifting the massive blade with one hand, a feat that, even with his great strength, Oudin knew should have been impossible, but the sword felt as light as air. Cheers erupted around the great feasting hall, the elders of the order trying to start a speech of some sort, with the rest of the order intent on giving the young swordsman a celebratory drink.
With that Oudin set out into the world to search for the Mage he felt he was now destined to pledge his service to. He has travelled far and wide over his three years of searching, doing odd jobs to provide funds, meeting many people along the way and seeing many things in his travels. This is where the story begins...
Outfits: ❖ Normal clothes (see picture) ❖ Casual clothing: Usually a simple shirt and some dark trousers, though it rare to see him wearing anything other than his armour.
Items: ❖ Fragarach (equipped) ❖ Blackheart armour with black cloak (worn) ❖ A small container of paste, made from plants, used to seal minor wounds ❖ A series of throwing knives, worn in a belt across his chest
Themes: ❖ Main Theme: The Ends of the Earth- Nathan Sharp ❖ Battle Theme: My Brother- Shiro Sagisu ❖ Emotional Theme: Arwens Song- Peter Hollens

I'm really sorry, but before we even consider your profile, you'll have to PM one of our Crew Members concerning your Armament, as per the guidelines of having one for your character. These are things that must be discussed to be created between a Member and Crew Member. Feel free to PM either myself, Rengato, or Johto Crisp regarding the matter. Thank you.
