Chris winced at the clap and shoot Algie a look. "I don't know! It could be trying to stop us with the same train of thought, but is there anything else left to do?" He voice pitched a bit high and he cut off, fussing with the key for a few seconds before sighing.
Chris was quieter when he began again. "It seems wrong, but I don't think we have much of a choice left in doing anything but unlocking the door, unless you have a plan. I want to think we didn't mess up but.." He let it trail off, the conclusion obvious in the hair.
He hadn't wanted to think about it like that but Algie had a point and he stared at the key again, worried. He had seen everyone die, would he have to see it again?

"I agree," Asiya said, echoing Erin's sentiment on not wanting haunted houses to try and kill them. Well, those would be forever ruined for her now around Halloween time. Oh, well -- she didn't really go to them very often, anyway. Only once in a blue moon. Asiya then turned and glanced at Temperance when the other girl touched her shoulder and smiled.
"Indeed -- no time like the present."
Like the others, Asiya felt compelled to go down to the first floor, and she did just that. With the key in her hand, she descended down the stairs and made her way to the room left of the library. It didn't take long before she was standing in front of the door with the five locks. When she reached her destination, she looked back to see if any others were following, and then waited. Although she had one of the keys to unlock the door, she figured it would be best to wait until all of the others were there together.
That way they could all put the keys in at the same time in order to open the door.everyone else; I'm too lazy to tag.

"You all look like monsters," said Aleksy, with the obvious exception of Thorne, who evidently looked less-monstrous enough to qualify as Aleksy's favorite. "You all always look like ******** monsters." He took a deep breath. "It can't get worse," he reasoned, and he dropped his key-- it zipped off and slapped into something else with a sharp thunk.

At that, Alexis laughed. How could they not? It was awful, and bitter, and sounded like the way you'd laugh when you were five minutes away from dying and coughing up blood, but still undeniably some sort of laugh. "Good to know that my parents were right about me," they reasoned, and fell silent to watch the locks be undone. (They desperately wanted to ask for more details, but now really wasn't the best time; even Alexis could see that.)

So much for waiting for everyone.
But that was ok. Asiya was just as eager as any of them to get to Autumn. She hoped the other girl was ok, but given all the hoops they had to go through, she imagine she had been through a lot.
Not wanting to prolong finding their friend any longer, Asiya put her group's key into one of the locks and then turned it. She then stood back and waited to see what would happen and for the other keys to help open the door as well.

Thorne blinked and watched as Aleksy dropped his key and it - it zoomed... and slapped into something with a thunk. "We're having - we're having a sit down ******** conversation after this," he said softly, to Aleksy. And then he unwound, only enough to go put the ******** key in the goddamn lock. Let it end already, jesus. Let it end.

The chandelier rattled, not long after the first key was in and the lock opened. It went silent. Then it happened again. There was a flicker, a shimmer in the air, and Jeremiah Mercer appeared there and fell through the air to the ground with a hard thud. Tears actually formed at the corner of his eyes because buggering c**k sucking ******** hell that bloody hurt. Not that he said that. He was too busy biting the inside of his cheek to say a damn word and catch his breath. " Damnit, Krasnya," he hissed and continued to lay there. anyone else because he's laying here for a bit

If Chris hadn't been so damn rattled by everything before, he might have jumped at Jer appearing out of literally nowhere and slamming to the ground. As it was, his eyes widened in surprise and he quickly strode over to the detective.
"Are you okay?" He offered, bending down to take a closer look. He dropped the key in the process, golden item falling to the floor and for a moment it was there - and then it had gone to the door.

The key fell from his pocket when he had hit the floor. It laid there until the fourth lock was unlocked. Jeremiah simply shook his head at Chris. "I need to lay here a moment." The level of pain he was in was ridiculous. There was the sound of clatter, the metal of the key on the floor vibrating and then whoosh. It was gone, heading straight for the door. "For ******** sake," he hissed, "did the bloody thing just go on it's own?"
