Personally, I'd like to hear some more internet dating disaster stories. Our maybe some of the lovely ladies on this site would like to say a word or two about the perils of being feminine on the internet. Personally, as a guy, I only ever had trouble that one time I tried out Furcadia. Brrrr. (And if it can make me say Brrrrr, then I swear it would melt a lot of other folks' eyeballs. They said "Talking Animals" and I thought "Looney Toons" but I was very, very wrong. That's my internet love horror story.)

as I told my mother before I left to go cross-country and marry (and then later divorce) a man I met on the internet, "A man who will lie to you over the internet is the same man who will lie to your face."
Just because they are online does not give them any more or any less credibility. My marriage would have probably lasted longer than it did if he had just been a better guy, but the truth is he was younger than me by about 5 years and wasn't really ready to be tied down for the rest of his life. Meeting online had nothing to do with this. It was all him.
And I am actually rather open to meeting another man over the internet, though I'd rather meet him in person.

Oh I give up! I just wanted some funny cautionary tales about Dates Gone Wrong and I figured, since this is the internet and it's a thread about internet dating...
Well fine... just... just... fine. You folks live out your idyllic existences! I shall seek chaos elsewhere! And Bleu Cheese! I'll seek some of that, too! And maybe a cinnamon roll. Or a salad. Yes! A light salad!
I shall seek a light salad elsewhere and you can all just be happy or contented or... that other thing... with the expression where you turn your mouth up at the corners... and your heart beats real fast... and there are unicorns and bright colors and clowns. Yeah! You heard me:
scream I'm making my lunch! scream

Haven't dated online either, come to think of it, I haven't dated at all in at least five years, nor had a romantic relationship in about seven. eek
And Harbone dear, I could fill your head with horror stories about dating, just not internet stories. If there's a monster out there, they tend to find me. Thus, I am quite content to stay single.
