Quote: A-trekking through the woods I go! Troll: Aconan Eyulft Inventory: Super Protein Snack Bars Night Vision Goggles Daywalker Spray Mushroom Snufflin' Gerbils Colourful Yarn Balls Location: Riverside Respite Choice Picked: C Item Used: Super Protein Snack Bars Mushroom Count: 7! Stamina: 8/10 Removing the night-vision goggles as they stepped out of the darker woods, Aconan hummed happily to herself about the bountiful crop of mushrooms she had collected. Four! Four big mushrooms, too. She grinned, and then frowned as Loupsus's head swung around, ears pricked. Following his gaze, she saw the snoutbeast piglet, and tugged on Loupsus's ruff. "No. Unless you want it's mother to come chase us." Looking around, Aconan took in the dilapidated bridge, looking particular precarious, and the rotten trees lining the riverside. Rotten trees sounded like a good place to find mushrooms, so Aconan, still with a hand in Loupsus ruff, began to tug him towards the river. Or rather, tried to. Loupsus was salivating, looking at the snoutbeast piglet again. Aconan frowned, then with a sigh, dug one of the snackbars out the bag, waving in front of her lusus' face. Loupsus did not look enthused. "Dad, seriously. We're not chasing the snoutbeast piglet ,it's asking for trouble. You either get a snackbar or nothing." Loupsus huffed, and Aconan started walking down the river, chewing on the snackbar herself. With a grumbling chuff, Loupsus followed his charge instead of chasing the tasty prey. Rubbish. RUBBISH. Aconan smiled to herself as she ate - she could rely on her lusus, even if he was silly sometimes.

Quote: A-trekking through the woods I go! Troll: Vulpin Cadmea Inventory: Mushroom Snufflin Gerbs, "Used" Bowie Knife, Colorful Yarn Balls, 100 Beetles, 6/10 Stamina Location: Lumber Yard Choice Picked: B) Follow cut trees to main area Item Used: Mushroom Snufflin' Gerbs Mushroom Count: 5 Vulpin gave a heaving sigh, glad to finally be out of the heel-tangling meadow. Walking over to a cut log, he plopped himself down, resting for a moment to watch the sky. For a while he had forgotten he had signed up for this just to have a little fun. Easily enough, he had gotten himself worked up about such a simple little game. He deserved a break, he thought, looking down at his muddy shoes. Immediately, he set to cleaning them off, disgusted to be using his bare hands. After a moment of relaxation, Vulpin rose, looking to find his way back to some civilization. Perhaps he could find the mushroom barterer again, and trade his things in for better items? Those snack bars seemed ever more appetizing as he got hungrier throughout the night. In a moment of brilliance, Vulpin set down his gerbils, hoping perhaps that the little guys could snuff out some more goods for him as he followed the path back to the main area. Maybe, if the furry little things were good enough trackers, he'd consider keeping them with Louboutin. Eagerly, he watched them, hoping that they would find something good while he took his well-deserve break.

Quote: Results for November 22-23:If you are traveling from the Waterfall Cove: A) In coming back the way you came, you receive the same challenges as earlier- but this time with fewer mushroom results. You manage to reconnect with the main trail and make your way out of the deep woods. You gain 1 mushroom and lose 2 stamina. You are now located in the Relief Station. B) You hop in the river and float peacefully on your back. Only a couple of times do you feel something huge and scaly rub against you under the water. When you come to a gentle stop, you are at a luminescent bank lit by cute little blue mushrooms with a trail leading to safety. You gain 4 mushrooms. You are now located in the Woodland Outpost. Item Results: If you used the used bowie knife, some of the beautiful old growth trees seem permanently blemished as you mark them up. One of the vines you puncture turns out to not be a vine. Oops. You drop some supplies and fail to recover them in your flight. Lose 2 mushrooms. If you used the fishing rod, you hook a branch hanging above the waterfall and pull it down. The misty waterfall makes for great mushroom making! You reward yourself with some actual fishing afterwards (and boy, do they bite here!) Gain 3 mushrooms and regain 1 stamina.
If you are traveling from the Riverside Respite: A) You approach the snoutbeast and it immediately scampers away. Upon following it, you realize your mistake: a baby snootcreature is much lighter than a troll. The dead log you’re on gives way, and you end up taking a swim in the river. Fortunately when you wash up on the bank you come face to face with a single tiny blue mushroom. Lose 3 stamina and gain 1 mushroom. You are now located at the Relief Station. B) You attempt to cross the river using the old bridge, and halfway across notice a huge growth of mushrooms cultivating on the old planks. You begin to scrape them up, but in doing so manage to weaken the bridge enough to drop you in. Whoops! You come to at the riverbank next to the waystation. You gain 4 mushrooms and lose 3 stamina. You are now located at the Relief Station. C) As you follow the river, the forest starts to grow thicker around you. Trails of snoutbeasts have cleared most of the mushrooms around here. Fortunately you find a stand in the middle of the woods. Gain 1 mushroom. You are now located at the Woodland Outpost. Item Results: If you used the dynamite, the resulting explosion from your use of the device is impressive. One of the dead logs bursts, splinters and drags another tree with it, effectively damming the river. You’ve unlodged 3 mushrooms. If you used the fishing rod, you have made a terrible mistake. You hook an enormous, scaly creature that lurks under the river – you know, the one the sign warned you about. As soon as it takes a bite, it pulls you in. You lose 2 mushrooms and 1 stamina.
If you are traveling from the Forest Exit: A) You seek higher ground, setting your sights on the incline outside of the forest exit. You pass through and spot a building in the distance, past a lumber yard. The trek is very long and tiring, but gives you ample time to think and collect goodies. Gain 4 mushrooms and lose 3 stamina. You are now located in the Hillside Outpost. B) You follow the sign directly to the waypoint. Gain 1 mushroom. You are now located at the Relief Station. C) Going into the valley leads to a dark and twisting path. Some snorting noises that seem to come from a nearby bush lead you to a mushroom cluster! Afterwards, you walk a little more quickly from the apparent return of a snoutbeast mother. Gain 3 mushrooms and lose 3 stamina. You are now located at the Woodland Outpost. Item Results: If you used the mushroom snufflin’ gerbils, the little critters all go in different directions. Dang it! By the time you’ve tracked them all down from this perplexing waypoint the last gerbil has chewed into your mushroom store. Lose 2 mushrooms. If you used the used bowie knife, you scrape a quick map into the existing sign for future travelers. Whether it’s accurate or not is at your discretion. Whoops. Good karma or praise from the capricious powers that be reward you with 3 mushrooms.
If you are traveling from the Gaseous Bog: A) Rushing towards the larger trees means splashing through icky, gooey “natural” ponds. You trip and nearly lose your lunch, but finally escape the stinky bog. The trees definitely meant the way out of this place, and fortunately you find yourself at a health waypoint. Gain 2 mushrooms, lose 2 stamina. You are now located at the Relief Station. B) The higher you climb on the tree, the more your thinkpan thanks you. The air becomes clearer and so does your path! Even if you’re tired from the climb, you can scope out your plan of escape with ease. Not to mention the sweet shelf fungus you find on your descent. Gain 4 mushrooms and lose 2 stamina. You are now located at the Hillside Outpost. C) You wade through the garbage, which is terrible and disgusting. Frankly, you’re not sure why there would be anything growing in here that wasn’t mold, disease and sadness. But, you escape in record time. Gain a moldy soda can that you’ll probably be able to hock as 1 mushroom later. You are now located in the Hillside Outpost. Item Results: If you used the night vision goggles, you notice that your eyesight is much less strained. Plus, with slightly obscured vision you’re not as disgusted as what you’re seeing in front of you! Great. You have greater focus and use it to gather 3 more mushrooms. If you used the dynamite, you experience what you can only describe as flaming trash rain. Lose 2 mushrooms, 1 stamina, and all of your dignity.
If you are traveling from the Lumber Field: A) The unchopped trees are fairly young. It looks like you’ll have to climb to find the mushrooms – which you do! Tired as you are, you spot a waypoint in the distance as well as collecting a nice amount of goods. Gain 4 mushrooms and lose 2 stamina. You are now located in the Relief Station. B) The chopped trees take you quickly to the origin of the choppers! In the distance you see a Hillside Outpost, likely to be useful to you. Gain 2 mushrooms. You are now located in the Hillside Outpost. Item Results: If you used the yarn balls, you are able to tag similar looking trees which stops you from getting lost or confused. Gain 3 mushrooms. If you used the snack bars, you regrettably attract a homeless nutcreature. You lose 2 mushrooms in the ensuing conflict.
Choice for November 22-23:
If your location is the Woodland Outpost: You emerge at a tiny hive near the riverbank. It appears to be used as both living quarters and some kind of supply store! A huge and muscular troll in a grey tunic pops out of the hive when you arrive and pulls a lever to reveal a storefront. “Helloooo!” She exclaims, waving a handkerchief to the newcomers. “My friends!”
A cluster of wingbeasts and nutcreatures emerge from the hive. “Shop shop!” She claps her hands and the animals leap into action, pulling down a colorful awning. “Please, buy what you need! Oo hoo!”
Quote: Woodland Outpost Supply Shack• Medikit (immediately recovers 5 stamina) – 100 beetles • Bag of sunflower seeds – 50 beetles • Heavy armor helmet – 50 beetles
After resting a while, it’s time to begin your journey again! Your mushroom sanctuary awaits.
One path forks off to a darkening tunnel of vines and intimidating greenery. It appears to disappear into a thick darkness, with an occasional hoot and screech coming from within. The other path is incredibly steep – it will require a vine to descend, and is almost recognizable as a cliff.
A) Entering the darkening tunnel of vines B) Use a vine and go down the steep path
Note: No items may be used this turn!
If your location is the Relief Station: A rather bored troll sits at the counter of the relief station. He seems to perk up when you arrive. “Whoa! New trolls!” He exclaims. “Normally just a couple o’ ol’ fogeys come through for the festival. You tourists? Here, I can sell you some cheap survival gear or buy some mushrooms from ya if you’re short on change.”
Quote: Relief Station Supply Store• Medikit (immediately recovers 5 stamina) – 50 beetles • Daywalker Spray – 50 beetles • 10 beetles – 1 mushroom
After resting a while, it’s time to begin your journey again! Your mushroom sanctuary awaits.
One path is entirely covered in moss, and nearly featureless under the verdant blanket. It looks almost spongey to step on! The other path is dense and rocky – looking like any of the boulders you step on may come loose with a false step.
A) Take the mossy trail B) Follow the rocky trail
Note: No items may be used this turn!
If your location is the Hillside Outpost: A lone lumberjack twirls his beard in idle wistfulness, wittling on the front deck of the Hillside Outpost. “What eh? O!” He grumped. Immediately he put away his knife. “We’re not workin’ today, go away! You some kinda half-pint adventurers?”
He thought for a moment. “Unless you’re, uh… Here to buy! Yes! Come to the Hillside Outpost and gimme your beetles… I mean business…”
Quote: Hillside Outpost "Supply Store"• Medikit (immediately recovers 5 stamina) – 100 beetles • PBJ sandwich with a bite taken out of it – 50 beetles • Large shovel with a duct taped handle – 50 beetles
After resting a while, it’s time to begin your journey again! Your mushroom sanctuary awaits.
From the hills, you can see the foothills down below. The wavering paths at the bottom of the incline seem uneven at best, but are no contest when matched with the mountain trail that arcs up past the Outpost.
A) Cut through the foothills B) Hike the mountain trail
Note: No items may be used this turn!
The next choice will be posted on November 26th.
