Was it over? Sometime between stumbling out of the hospital building into the courtyard where everyone was gathered and hearing Corey's demented cries, the terribly tortured man had managed to pass out yet again, only waking up to the cheers of the students once the ordeal was over. Sort of, they were still stuck in a deserted hospital compound away from the safety of their base. But at least they had managed to get Corey, Charlie, and Caroline back...
Caroline...
Peter sat up and looked for her, find that she was, well, currently occupied with someone else. Perhaps it would be better if he pretended not to see, but he was still relieved to find her … back to normal...
The last words he remembered saying to her came back to sting him. He could at least regret it now that she was back, as compared to when he was sure that he had lost her forever.
The man finally rose to his feet, noticing that the itch was gone. Then there was the lack of paranoia, anxiety and hallucinations too. He turned to look at his hands, still bearing traces of blood from when he had stabbed himself in protest.
Ah- he looked around, eyes searching for Corey. He owed her an apology as well. He didn't mean not to believe, but he had been one to take fact as fact, and was often more doubtful than anything.
He could be glad about at least one more thing, that was that he was still alive somehow. For now, the easiest thing he could do was to thank Kammy.
“Thank you, Kammy,” he spoke sheepishly, looking down at the bandages draped over himself. The effort had kept him alive, and that's all that mattered.

Rarely did Caroline apologize for anything, and even more scarcely did she mean it. This had a lot to do with her apparent inability to see things as her fault in many cases, especially when there were plenty of other reasons to choose from. It required a certain level of honesty, even aside from that, and her time with the university had been anything but truthful from the start.
She could hear people calling her name, calling to her and to Corey and Charlie alike, tentatively celebrating and asking questions and wondering aloud about their safety. She could feel Harvard holding her and petting her hair, doing and saying things she hadn't expected. Not after that.
Though she was aware of everything happening around her, she had never felt quite so powerless, even during the times she'd felt most trapped. She had never felt more like she was to blame.
For once, it wasn't nines that made sense; the only answer she had was a hoarse "I'm sorry" before she fell silent again.

The sudden apology from Peter caught Kammy by surprise, and her expression reflected that well. "You're...welcome? I'm not sure what I did though." She looked him over, noticing how much better he appeared. "You're looking in good heath sir, glad to see you got some HP restored." She looked at the collapsed leads. "It feels as if the world just got a little bright, since we got them back." Like maybe they might get through this after all.
