Rules as a game - it was interesting, how they were on the same wavelength in waves. He had originally planned on just the one thing, but the way she stilled when his finger hooked around that collar... He smiled. "Caroline, I'd only deny you if you wanted it." And if he did, she would want it. Beg for it. He bent down to whisper something in her ear, an invitation, of sorts. But the moment was interrupted by a very pointed phrase. Harvard could have laughed, because these were all reactions, lovely things. Instead he turned slightly, still keeping his fingers at her neck. "Austin," he looked at him, an eyebrow raised. "I'm thirty-four."

Harvard got a flat sort of look, Austin's head cocked to the side -- but under that attention, he'd have the sense to lean back and order a new drink, fingers raised to the girl he'd commandeered as their personal table runner to get a new whiskey. He didn't even have to say anything, not after the number he'd had. It made him bold, and stupid, and pissy, all at once. "Self-centered much, doctor? Who said that had anything to do with you?"

With a click of his tongue and a brush of fingers across the collar on his throat, Liam got to his feet just a little too abruptly for it to be purely casual. A smile to Harp, though it was a touch strained now. Another smile for the Waitress as she came back with Austin's drink, and he reached for his bag to sling it back over his shoulder, adjusting the strap so it sat comfortably and didn't dig at his neck under the ring of the collar.
He'd had enough for the moment. Not just of the game or the drinking--though that was certainly true, he might have swayed just a touch--but of Austin and his moods, and Harvard and his needling banter. So, without much in terms of a goodbye beside a general wave to the table, Liam started for the game floor once again.

Kammy's new drink remain untouched at the next question, feeling more then just awkward at the moment. She wasn't a exciting person herself, choosing more to stay in her own dorm room instead of going to parties, hanging around with people and doing all that intimate stuff one did. Which meant she wasn't going to get very drunk in this game, at all.
She didn't know if it was a bad thing. Sure she had her freedom, her neck void of any collars, but she needed to get everyone else's freedom. So keeping her wits was important. But she would of liked to just sit back and had a drink with all her friends, but now everyone was either flirting with someone else or walked off.
The ice in her drink clinked, and she slumped over the bar, feelings of melancholy flooding her system. The alcohol wasn't helping her at all, now all she felt was moody because this could have been the last time she could have sat with everyone, but of course she missed it. But then she was never a big group party person so what did it matter.
"This sucks." She mumbled to herself, taking another sip of her drink.

"But it does," he said matter-of-factly. "Please excuse me; I'll be right back." He turned to Caroline and, taking her arm, began to head over to a certain area.

There was another sour moment, Austin torn between annoyance, affront, and embarrassment, and then he, too, stood -- looking around at the lot of them and slowly rolling out his shoulders. After a moment, he snatched up his sign, with a sniff and a sound.
"This got dull quick, I'd say. You can stick around if you want, but I think I'm done." He could still play cool guy, even while slinking off, kind of with his tail between his legs.

"HEY THERE BUDDY!" James appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, and invited himself to plop down on a stool next to Kammy's.
"Do you have any local, craft beer here?" he asked the bartender, and then made a lot of very interesting faces at their selection before choosing something haughtily. It was poured, somewhat more grudgingly that perhaps as usual, and so it was that James now spun around in his seat to invade the hell out of his new friend's personal space.
"C'mon! Lets turn that frown UPSIDE DOWN!" Was there a manic edge to that? Probably.

Kammy had been so down in the dumps, that when James suddenly appeared out of no where the girl nearly jumped out of her seat.
"WOAH!" She turned around, eyes wide and now quite sober (even though she was already sober). "JAMES! There you are. You got caught too?" If it wasn't obvious from his collar.
She watched him choose his drink, with the many faces he made, before he was now quite close to her. Though before he had been quite friendly and..what was the word, eccentric? He was now extremely excellence. Like had had just received a stat boost.
Though it made sense, what with how much time they had left to become free and all.
Upon asking her to 'cheer up', she sipped her drink some more. "Sorry James. Just felt a little down." And lonely, and sad, and emo. And everything else that chocolate would fix but there was no chocolate to be had. Damn her lack of chocolate.

"Sure did," he responded. "Yeah, I suppose even I have to admit things have been a bit, er, dark." He lowered his voice. "I think, um, I think I saw someone get shot."
James took a long quaff of his beer.
"But, you know, look on the bright side. It's an open bar!" He nudged her with an elbow in a friendly fashion, and then noticed - "Say, how'd you get rid of the collar? I feel like I'm being slowly strangled by a kitten. They could have at least fitted it correctly."

"...You saw someone get shot?" She appeared horrified. "I..didn't see someone get shot, but I have a idea of what happened to them, and it's not good." Judging by the screaming and references to restaurants. She wasn't stupid.
"Yeah, that is a good thing" She smiled a little. Free drinks were always awesome. "Oh, you need to buy your way out using the coins they give you. You use the coins to play games, and win more coins...." She then considered something. "James, you know what happens if you don't get that collar off right?"

"Yeah, back in the...I'm actually not sure where, but it definitely happened," he murmured quietly, eyes overbright.
"N-no? We get auctioned off, right? Like, like a dinner date, sort of thing?" James had been part of charity auctions and the like before. He hadn't been sure what they'd meant at the time, but after the disastrous result of his first round of inquiries, he'd chosen to remain quietly ignorant.

"Thats..." Kammy didn't finish. What was she supposed to say? Horrible? disastrous? Expected? There wasn't a correct word to put there. Though the longer she had been here the more 'adjusted' she was becoming to this sort of horrible behavior.
Then she stared at James. Oh god, poor James had no idea what was going on. Did she have the heart to tell him? Was it even a good thing to do so? She didn't want to make things worse, but he couldn't go around in some sort of dream.
"..G-get that collar of James." She said. "You must get it off, at all costs. You have to."

James looked surprised, and a little worried, at her urgent tone. He swirled what was left of the beer in his glass nervously.
"Why, is it like, a bomb?" He leaned in closer. "Oh gosh, is it getting tighter? Does it look tighter to you? Is it going to slowly strangle me?!" Holy crikey, that would be twisted and awful. He tried not to imagine it, but could feel himself sweating anxiously at the thought.

"It's..." She looked at his nervous face. He really had no idea and she didn't have the heart to tell him. He sat there asking if he had gotten tighter or if it would.
"N-no..it's not..." Her hand went to her pocket, feeling the coins she had accumulated so far, then to the amount on his collar. Now that she thought about..yes, yes she did.
"Don't worry James." She smiled. "Now that I think about it, I got a spell that might help out. I've got this covered."
