"If you make a lot of noise you will surely not be safe," Chaya said, narrowing his eyes at the small ragged person. How old were they? They sounded a lot like his younger siblings. "It doesn't make sense but we have to keep going, because if we stop it will all stop, right?"

Lurks bit back a scream of frustration, kicking their feet in a temperamental rage instead. The hood slipped, revealing the grubby face of a girl, as young as she acted.

"Maybe it would be better," she said, petulant, "if everything stopped."

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER
Lurks is little more than five feet tall, including the voluminous amount of rags covering them from head to toe. Half cloak and half bandage, Lurks still looks like the beggar they used to be, before becoming a knight, as they're uncomfortable being exposed in any capacity. A high cowl or scarf always covers the lower portion of their face, meaning they're a little-bit muffled most of the time. They always carry a small corn husk doll, if only they could remember what it was for...

The only hint that they're a knight at all comes in the form of a paltry scythe, which is only a little bit taller than they are.

(Action 3/4)

As exhausted as he'd been, it didn't really seem wise to sit so near to the gate and mirror once they were joined. After taking a few breaths rest, Wrath got back to his feet, and moved away to assess the rest of the situation erupting around him.

My, there was certainly still a lot going on!

While he still felt quite strongly about aiding the red knight, his leader, before he could make a decision one way or another, his gaze went to where he'd seen Na'ima last. What would she do? For some reason, the answer to that seemed rather important.

He made his way towards her, completely oblivious to the changes in the mirror.

A movement caught her eye and Na'ima immediately looked to see what it was. She relaxed, looking Wrath up and down to see how he was doing before she spoke up. "Yes, Wrath?" Now wasn't exactly the time for flirting, she hoped there was something actually important on his mind.

(Action 3/4)

He assessed her in return for one long, unblinking moment before he spoke.

"Our situation is not one I was expecting, and now with all that is happening I find myself wondering if my choices are sound. I wish to help, most particularly in aid of the great knight, Morgan, but wonder if I may not be thinking things through properly. I....." He paused then, and sighed, "Was simply hoping for some insight from a more intelligent mind before I act."

(Action 1/4)

She frowned. That was an acceptable reason for him to be around. She crossed her arms, looking out toward the fighting. "I do not support fighting among the ranks, outside of a spar I suppose, but.." Na'ima looked up at Wrath, tilting her head to one side before looking away again. "Sir Gawain is confusing. He speaks highly of the king, but then in the next breath he disrespects him. Percival's opinion is valid, but I'm not overly fond of simply being on the defensive and hoping we can outlast the sidhe.."

A pause, she actually smiled and looked up again. "A more intelligent mind?" Chuckling, she soon sighed and combed a hand through her hair. "If you'd like to aid Morgan, I will help you do that. It would seem some others feel the same way as you. Shall we?"

(Action 3/4)

Maybe it was a mistake to ask her. He found himself distracted by every small movement, her lips, her eyes, the way her fingers ran through her hair. He had to give himself a mental shake, blinking a few times while telling himself now was hardly the time.

He concentrated even harder on her words, then, and found that her opinions were, thankfully, much like his own.

"Then we shall go and lend Morgan our aid." It was decided, and he smiled in return, though there was something less than friendly in his eyes as he turned and began to take great, long strides in that direction, his hammer in hand and ready for action.

Na'ima gave a nod of her head and followed closely behind Wrath, her eyes on him instead of on the path toward Morgan before them. This was very unlike the man she had met earlier in the day. "Don't do anything too rash, Wrath," she warned him quietly before unclipping the pair of chakram at her hip.

[Enter - Kari]

Kari rushed into the room Gawain and the other Great Knights had entered into. Kari marveled at the scene before her: the treasure room. Why had they gone here? Shouldn't they be in a place where they had a vantage point to alalyze the enemies movements? Coming down here seemed more like...

They were making a last stand.

It hit Kari, causing a shudder to course through her that threatened to break her. Was this really going to be it? Before Kari could work herself up, raised voices echoed in gthe direction of the Great Knights. Were they arguing? Now of all times, when they needed a united front the most?

As she listened to the conversation, Kari felt conflict welling up in her. Morgan claimed they could use the gate to save themselves, which definitely sounded appealing, yet Gawain claimed that using the gate could make the problem worse and should be destroyed instead. While destroying a potential threat sounded good, they had no idea what destroying the gate would do to them. There was nothing saying the enemy would cease their attack if the gate was destroyed either, so Percival's words had merit too. All three had legitimate arguments, but Percival's held the most weight in Kari's mind. They shouldn't do anything rash, not until they had all the information.

Silence.

Kari only had a moment to register the sudden halt of conversation before all hell broke lose. The Great Knights were attacking one another! Why?! They were supposed to be allies! This wasn't the time or the place to turn on one another! Then she felt her stomach drop when her fellow knights began attacking one another as well. Had everyone lost their minds? She could only stand and watch as allies became enemies, senselessly tearing into one another. This wasn't what it meant to be a knight, Kari was sure of it. She had to do something, but what?

A low rumbling sound echoed throughout the Treasure Room as Kari turned to see that some knights had taken the liberty of moving the gate towards the mirror while she'd been trying to decide on a course of action. The mirror began to distort its surroundings as the gate became wrapped within and brought forth a black ooze that threatened to penetrate the surface of the mirror. A crack sounded and both the gate and the mirror began to sink. This... this could only end badly. Too many people were lost in the throes of battle to notice this fact, and those precious few still clinging to reason seemed like mere pebbles fighting the raging stream with how little their words seemed to affect the screaming masses.

Kari needed to think, and she certainly couldn't do it here. As much as it pained her, she knew that any reasoning on her part with the aggressors would only fall on deaf ears. With a heavy heart, she left the treasure room in hopes of finding someone who hadn't lost themselves.

[Enter - Ollie]

He entered the commotion still keyed up from battle, and still ready for more battle -- weapon in hand and hair tousled, bright eyes even brighter with the excitement of the fight that had taken over the castle. Being faced with a simple argument was a disappointment, meant he went from ready to go to muted and annoyed, breathing more slowly, to impatient.

Until, of course, it turned to a fight between the lot of them. Then it was, pretty much, Ollie's perfect world: exciting and problematic, chaotic and wild. The fact that he wasn't really all that invested in their dispute made it that much better, because he wasn't mad, wasn't upset, could just watch with wide eyes and mouth slightly slack as the senseis took each other on.

It was, to him, like magic. And he wanted to be a part of it.

So, briefly, he had to mull over where he stood on the problem, and whose side he wanted to join. There was a mirror and a gate, but that fight was at an end, since one had already reached the other and they now seemed joined in some kind of unbreakable magic. There was the knight who had supported it. There was the knight who wanted to destroy it. And the one who hadn't really seemed to care that much but had gotten in the way.

Discount the last. Down to two. He licked his lips, looking between Gawain and Morgan. Gawain had a pompous, self-certain edge that both impressed Ollie and annoyed him, at the same time. As for Morgan...

Morgan kind of just looked evil, he thought, as he turned the weapon in his hand again. Something about the color, and the edge of a sneer behind his expression.

That, on its own, made the decision for him.

The smoke, putrid and thick was growing beneath the seals fraying at the edges of the mirror and the gate, much to Damien's horror. The knights were still going at it like their manhood were on the line and here, oblivion was sinking through the ground. With No Great king here to keep everything together, all looked lost. There was something that caught his eye, moving closer to it, the polearm user hoped that a miracle would occur.

Haze the Black knight-apprentice
◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◆

[ENTER]

His feet hit the cold ground. Having escaped from the madness of the courtyard the young apprentice-knight had stayed back, but only for moments, in order to observe where they were going. Countless knights were blindly charging forward, following the large back of Morgan as he entered into a room. He did not follow instantaneously, and instead looked around the corridor which they ran. Why was there such a place so array from the castle? It brought an unsettling feel to the young man. His hand skimming over the front of the abdomen where his leather tunic had slightly torn from the shadow monsters. He was lucky he wore chain-mail underneath or the damage could have been much worse. Though the knight didn't get away completely unscathed. Three consecutive scratch marks were etched down his cheek, as if the creature were trying to carve whiskers on half of his face. And the fatigue from battle was almost unbearable, almost.

Letting his warm breath hit the chilled air he snapped his attention back to reality, noticing that most of the knights had already followed in. And in fact the groups that had followed the other knights joined in too. A commotion sounded, and soon grew into more loud roaring. What on earth was going on in there? Haze wondered. Deciding he had stayed back long enough his feet carried him forward into the room. Maybe it would have been a better decision to stay out of it... because as soon as he did all hell broke loose. The walls began to contort and wane in unrealistic ways. His heart felt like it was tightening up in his chest as Haze witnessed all the conflict that was going on. Countless apprentices were pitted against one another, and were fighting the Great Knights themselves. He would have been completely naive to what was going on if it wasn't for his keen observation skills. Hearing the occasional spat and bickering that came from each side as they lunged towards one of the great knights or defended them in the wake of the fray.

Everyone either spoke of a gate, a mirror, or the king. Trying to piece together all of the information at once was overwhelming. His hand simply gripping more tightly onto his spear as silver eyes darted from one group of knights to the next. What was he going to do? Everything was happening all to fast and he would quickly squeeze his eyes shut, attempting to catch his breath and train of thought. What was this feeling? He shouldn't be feeling so bogged down, he should know the path he wanted to do instantly. But instead Haze was pleauged with a perpetual confusion and darkness.

Crack.

An audible sound echoed through the room, snapping his eyes open he noticed the mirror that had caused some of the conflict. It would seem he didn't have time to think anymore, as the ground would sink and give way. Immediately he directed his gaze towards Morgan. Watching as countless people tried to attack, while only a few were defending him. He had stuck by the Great Knight's side while they fought against the shadowlings in the courtyard. And what the red knight spoke of made the most sense to Haze. Usually that would mean he would try and go after the other two, to rip down their ideals and make them see the sense in the one he followed. But the white haired knight wasn't one for unnecessary conflict, and so gritting his teeth he would bound forward, holding up his spear to prepare to protect Morgan. Not realizing the utter chaos and darkness he was really going to face.

"It would be over," she said, rubbing at her eyes with dirty hands balled into fists. "There'd be no more and it would be quiet and we would all be together, and I would be--"

They touched the bloodstained doll in their pocket, holding it carefully. "I wish I remembered," she whispered, hair falling into her eyes, "it seems important, but I don't know. "

She stood, tilting her head to the battles. "I want it to end," Lurks said, and pressed the doll into Chaya's hands, taking off in a sea of rags, scythe in hand.

[ enter verusha ]

The battle at the courtyard had been invigorating, and thrilling for Verusha. He was pumped up, blood rushing, adrenaline going, and it only continued as he followed Morgan along with the other crowd that remained. There was a hitch in his surge of energy, though, when noticing the fallen corpses of comrades that littered the ground as they went on to return indoors. That was the sort of thing he was unfortunately starting to get used to seeing; death. It'd become a norm in life, now, and a constant. While not completely numb to its presence, he was building a stomach for it.

As they walked into the treasure room, his white eyes widened significantly while gazing around the impressive surroundings. It was... hard to believe something like this existed here. And how, was a better question. It was like walking into a voluminous cave somewhere up in the mountains. There was a twinkling and sparkling in every direction, catching his eyes, and making him turn his head or snap his eyes to see what had been coaxing his gaze. In truth, it was a touch unnerving... could someone or something be lurking nearby...? or hidden amongst the piles of treasures? it surely wasn't something he was going to overlook, but so far it seemed... calm. Unusually calm.

When the three Great Knights were reunited, the tension was palpable, making Verusha looking between the three one at a time, gauging their vibes and reading the expressions firmly etched on their seasoned features. What were they to do now. Waiting patiently, though shifting his weight back and forth, hand gripping and regripping the flail resting at his side, he watched as the three leaders debated and quarreled. But he never would have thought things would have escalated more than just via verbal snapping. All posed important, and good points. But really... what was the best choice or what wasn't didn't seem like a clear answer.

And then the actual physical fighting began. Verusha was shocked, taking steps back from the three powers that were now duking it out, surprised to have seen them lose their cool. This... wasn't how heads of the Knights should be acting. That usual calm, and laidback demeanor shifted in Verusha shown by his slightly drawn dark brows that expressed his displeasure as to what was going on. What good was all this? They needed to fight those dang horseman and shadows, not each other!

"come on guys, get it together!" he shouted over the brawling, attempting to get in and try to break things up. But that would be a death sentence, surely... they were skilled and far better fighters than he...

Looking around, he saw the other collective knights all brought together by the three titans also jumping into the scene, doing their own thing.. .but by the looks of it, a majority had their own plans and were making the decisions for their leaders; destroying the gate and mirror. But it looks like one took over the other sooner. The mirror was engulfing the gate...! Like some sort of strange, trippy dream, the walls around them contorted and twisted, the treasure dipping down. It tinkered and gave a loud rush like a busy stream, that was almost deafening, drowning out the grunts, cries and screams of those battling out what ever they'd chosen to defy. A blackness, thicker than ink and oil, spilled out from that protective seals that'd tried to keep the gate shut. Verusha kept backed away from it, not wanting anything to do with the eerie darkness that seemed more than plenty dangerous... and suddenly, both mirror and gate followed the treasure downwards.
