♥ ╌╌╌ ♥ ╌╌╌ ♥ ╌╌╌ ♥ ╌╌╌ ♥Veronica entered the town, coming from Route 101. It was a fairly short route, and a fairly small town at that. She looked over at Torchic, who seemed to be a little tired. The chick did have significantly smaller legs than she did, so it took a bit longer and more energy to keep up with her. Bending down, she picked up the Pokemon and held him in her arms. "There we go. How about we go heal up at the Pokemon Center, then go do some training? Maybe get some lunch while we're there?" she asked. She knew Torchic wasn't hurt at all, having taken no damage in their fight with the Wurmple, but he was tired, and that was reason enough to get there as fast as she could. Entering the Center, Ronna smiled at the nurse and walked up to the counter. "Can you give Torchic a little bit of a recharge? We've been walking for a while." The nurse agreed and took Torchic into the backroom. While waiting, Ronna went over to a sort of vending machine. It had snacks for people and for Pokemon in it. Well, it wasn't the best of lunches, but it was something to hold them over until they got back to Petelburg. With lunch out of the way, it was time to start the training. "Let's go up to the next route and look for some Pokemon. What do you say, Torchic?" she asked, stepping outside. Torchic chirped and followed swiftly after the girl. After heading up to Route 103, it didn't take long for a wild Pokemon to pop out at them. It was a Seedot!A wild Seedot appeared!

She couldn't wait to get to Mauville and go shopping. Maybe she could find something for Torchic too, like a bowtie or a hat. That would be pretty cute. Granted, she thought Torchic was cute enough already. Suddenly, she heard something in a nearby bush. Could it be another Pokemon? Knowing that it wasn't going to get any easier down the road, Veronica continued her search for wild Pokemon to train against. Hopefully they could find a new teammate soon. Part of her knew that no matter how hard Torchic tried, he probably wouldn't do very well against Roxanne. A boy stopped them before they could get back to Oldale. "Cool Torchic you've got there. I'm a trainer too, from Rustburo! I trained under Roxanne herself! Let's battle!" he said. Ronna stood her ground, Torchic rushing out in front of her and making a fighting stance. Her first real battle! Youngster Joshua wants to battle!

Torchic chirped and jumped into Veronica's arms, looking a little beat up from the battle. "Wow, turns out you're not that bad. Good battle! You should challenge Roxanne, but I bet she'll beat you!" the boy said before turning to leave. Ronna didn't take what he said to heart. She was too excited from her victory. Well, Torchic did most of the work, but she helped. He needed to rest though, so she rushed into town and into the Center. It didn't take long before Torchic was back to one hundred percent again. "I'm so proud of you, Torchic. Let's go to the next route, then onto Petelburg City!" Torchic chirped, nestling into Ronna's arms. Carrying her partner, the girl headed towards her hometown.
