HP: 49/50

It was a mess inside the funhouse. Getting past the sliding floor led Irene to a ball pit of unknown depth, too wide to easily step across. From the other side, she could hear both shouts and screams, making her stomach clench tightly. There was no way she could let something as silly as a ball pit get in her way!

"Hang on," she warned *********, taking a few steps back. Then, in a rush, she ran at the pit and leaped over, landing well, if not with ease, on the other side. She held out her arms to stabilize herself, jerking one back after she nicked it on the wall of the maze that stretched out around them.

The cut on her arm stung, but didn't impede her movement. The run-up to the jump left her in worse shape, her breathing heavy as she began to pick her way through the maze. At least the warmer temperatures inside the funhouse meant that each breath didn't feel like it would slice her lungs open, but if she couldn't move quickly enough, she worried that there wouldn't be anything left to save.

[Mod permission granted to do both obstacle rolls at once. Irene and ********* are occupying the same space! Please quote me if engaging!]

Aquamarine dodged the page's attempt to shove him out of the way. He wore a disgusted sneer on his face and took a moment to brush off his uniform like the page had gotten it filthy. Aquamarine almost raised his sword again as the page shoved on by.

That was, until he realized what was happening.

They were ganging up on Jet.

Under different circumstances maybe Aquamarine would have found this amusing. He'd certainly thought it was funny to watch Jet take on the weakened Eternal and a pesky civilian during the New Year's party. This, however, was three against one—a page, a regular Senshi, and a Super Senshi against one Lieutenant.

Aquamarine's blood boiled. Unfair. He could play dirty when he wanted to, but he didn't like it when someone else turned around played dirty on him. Or one of his friends. He supposed he should accept it by now that he and Jet were friends.

Raising his plastic sword high, Aquamarine slipped through the fray until he could bring said sword down on the ringleader's shoulder.

“So scared of one Lieutenant you've got to call your cronies on him, too, huh?” he said. Aquamarine paused long enough to glance in Seraphinite's direction. “You picked the wrong Lieutenants, Senshi.”

Jet would never admit that he wasn’t the brightest fighter. He put his heart and soul into everything he did and wore his bruises and scars with pride in the face of senshi and knights. This, however, was not something he’d expected.

He knew the senshi fought dirty, but he didn’t realize how dirty until the super senshi who’d attacked him first, called the other two into the fight as well. At first he thought they were going to go after Seraphinite, who had jumped to his aide, but Jet’s eyes grew wide when he was suddenly hit with not one, but two attacks.

The super senshi’s right hook left him with a bloody lip and staggering to his knees, but when the page jumped in as well, the one who had been fighting Aquamarine, a blow to the side of his head left him dazed and suddenly nauseous.

“You’ll regret that…” he sneered, lifting a hand to his face, wiping the blood from his lip as a trickle of blood rolled down the side of his face from his hairline. The edge of the scales must have cut him but he didn’t seem to notice. His eyes were wild, thirsty for blood. Jet launched himself at her again, not caring if he ended up getting hurt in the fray. He was more concerned with taking her down. And with the additional help of Aquamarine and Seraphinite… this was going to be a bad day for her.

HP: 50 youma

Behind the Aquamarine and Jet came an inhuman sound, the twisted mix of extreme pain and demented laughter. "late late late late, tooo late!" The doll chanted in a mirthful agony as she came into view. No human though certainly of human shape. Her head was tilted a full 90 degrees to the left in a move that would be uncomfortable at worse for a person yet sat still on a ball joint.

The porcelain looking figure had ball joints for every normal joint, showing particular in her arms that were straight out until where an elbow would be then the left was turned completely up while the right was pointed to the ground. The tattered remains of what was a fuku now sit faded against fired white skin. The fuku and broken broach were all that remained of the senshi.

"Let me heal you!"
Calling out to the senshi and nights with an abandoned furry she moved stiffly to the sides of the negavers fighters and unleashed a twisted version of what had once been her power. Like alcohol on a raw wound she flicked out the burning liquid towards the attackers.

There were attacks flying and Pisces wasn't sure what was going on - not fully, but there were people attacking the generals - her habndlers? - and she blinked numbly. Why were they here still? What about the others?

Pisces opened her mouth to try convincing someone to help the others - were they screaming? Or was it a nightmare or flashback? - and then there was a sudden, hot, sharp pain as an arrow wedged itself into her arm. It missed the joint, wedging in and remaining in place, and the senshi screamed a sharp, bloodcurdling scream as the pain rushed up and down her arm, tears coming to her eyes as she struggled weakly in her chains, raw skin growing more painful and injured as she clawed for something - anything - to brace on and scream into.

She thought she couldn't cry anymore, but pain had ways of bringing fresh misery and they flowed freely, Pisces howling agonizingly as she began to sob, deep racking sobs that helps ebb her constricting chest and easy the hyperventilating of her panic attack but did nothing but that. Blood, it seemed, had yet to form but where it missed an artery, it would certainly bleed when the arrow was removed. For now, however, all Pisces could do was wail.

HP: 47?

Cybele stared intently into the youma's eyes, her focus sharp, her breathing slow and steady. Now, it was focusing on her instead of on the captive senshi and the children. Good. She thought she saw one of its muscles twitching. Was it going to attack her again? That was fine, she was ready. She curled her hands into fists, and... then the brown haired chibi was insisting that he wasn't a child and whacking the youma just like she'd told him not to. Cybele let out an indignant squeak and glared at him, her sharp focus broken. It didn't even look like he was doing that much damage, just reminding the youma that he did, in fact, exist. Another senshi attacked before moving on, and then the youma was leaving, too... chasing her? Cybele considered following it for a moment, but there were plenty of senshi deeper inside now. They could handle another youma.

Instead, she stepped closer to the boy and switched from glaring in his general direction to glaring straight into his eyes. "All right, you've proven yourself," she snapped, half sarcastic. "Now can we help her?" Without waiting for a response, she walked over to one of the chains and gave an experimental tug. Obviously they weren't part of the original design of the funhouse, but they were still bolted fairly firmly to the ground. "We're going to get you out of these chains," she said all traces of annoyance fading from her voice as she finally got a good look at the captive girl. Her injuries and the way she was curled up so tightly told a sickening story, but this time it was one with hope at the end. "We'll be careful."

This time, she pulled the chain with every bit of strength she had. There was a tiny bit of give, maybe, but not much. "Maybe if we all pull together? Or you could maybe pry it out with that, somehow?" She pointed at the rod.

The fighting was chaotic and all the more so for the arrows flying through the cramped space. Arrows that were unfortunately aimed at her and Chariklo. A deep gash opened across the outside of her thigh as one flew past her, pulling out a cry as Ida stumbled and grabbed for her leg.

Damn it, this was not going well... the longer the fight went on, the more cuts she seemed to aquire and the blood that ran down her skin was worrying... if it kept on like this, blood loss was going to be an issue. No time to think about it though... the General was going for a basic senshi who had bravely, if unwisely, gotten herself mixed into the fighting.

Ida darted forward, ignoring the pain, to put herself between the downed senshi girl and the first general. Another bit of broken something was thrown, hampered by the need to not hit anyone else and the pain of her cuts.

[ Andronicus - 47 HP, Andro makes it through the ball pit! ]

She ran past the gaggle of people going after a senshi in a... hoop skirt and another senshi. There was more than enough help there. As much as she wanted to help, she'd seen the colors of a Mars knight and she was determined to catch up with Themiscyra if she was here. They were sort of a team, right? Yeah.

The Squire came across a formidable pit of plastic balls. It gave her uncomfortable flashbacks to a very bad comic book convention she went to in high school, as well as a very scary incident at her seventh birthday party. Yet she had to cross the pit to continue! And as a poor squire in beign and gold found herself eaten alive by the pit, she decided to do it at a run.

Andronicus, bless her soul, forgot she could jump buildings and simply grande jete-d over the pit. Huh. Well then.

[ Bifrost - 45 HP - 3 = 42 HP, Bifrost hates the ball pit! ]

Bifrost paused briefly. That was Pisces after all, one of her court. She seemed surrounded though, and perhaps Bifrost would only add to the panic and confusion. The Gatekeeper continued on. Her journey brought her to a ball pit, and she fluffed her shoulders. This shouldn't be too hard, right? It was a simple ball pit. It, at very least, had a bottom to it. Probably was covered in spiders and dead animals, but it had a bottom. Surely.

She lowered herself into it, unsure of how best to go about it. She waded through the first few feet and then suddenly the bottom vanished. With a sound of shock, Bifrost went under, colored balls consuming her.

Some time later, she came up for air, gasping loudly. Never again. NEVER AGAIN.

[ Hydrus - 50 HP - Hydrus is unfazed by the ball pit! ]

The two being rescued were handled. The senshi of Leviathans continued on, taking notes. They'd decided on an abandoned carnival of all things. Very creepy, very horror film trope-esk. Clearly super necessary in this case. Honestly if you were going to be the bad guys, at least have class about it. Not be typical. Poor world building to be fair.

Really? Some sliding tiles and a spinning tube? What next, were plush animals going to fall from the sky with knives? Hydrus did notice a lack of actual sharp objects in any of these traps. If they didn't want the people to be rescued, they needed more hazards. More deadly hazards. You don't build a dungeon without proper hazards!

Hydrus barely noticed the ball pit in his griping and continued on, completely unscathed.

Perdita kept one eye on the battle against the youma. She placed herself in front of the captured Senshi in case the youma should draw closer. She was relieved by the presence of a more experienced Senshi, for although she had faith in her own abilities against a youma, it never hurt to have a little more manpower at their disposal.

It was with a sigh that she watched the youma take to the wall and leave. A second Senshi had come to assist her and Oberon, and the youma seemed to reconsider his options. The tension in Perdita's shoulders eased somewhat when the youma was out of sight.

Then it was just her, Oberon, the captured Senshi, and one of the ones who'd offered assistance. This Senshi soon took to glaring and snapping at Oberon. Perdita watched with some confusion, trying to catch Oberon's eye with a “What's her problem?” sort of look on her face. Sure, Oberon could be a little brat sometimes, but he'd only been helping—and doing a pretty decent job of it, Perdita had to admit.

In any case, now wasn't the time to be arguing with more experienced Senshi.

“Try and use the rod to pry the chains out,” she repeated, though her voice was somewhat kinder as she spoke to Oberon.

She joined the older Senshi at the chain, grabbing onto a portion to pull along with her. “Mind if I help?” she asked. “If we pull while Oberon's prying, we might managed to break her free.”

Pollux brushed his luxurious locks from his finely sculpted face and smirked at Methone. Grabbing her hand he didn't hold back as he let his gaze darken, hinting to all the things that he could do, would do, to her if given the chance. "Bella," he whispered into her ear, nuzzling her soft hair while his hand held her close to him, "non c'è divertimento lì, resta qui, e godere di ciò che ora possiamo passare insieme da soli."

His thick Italian accent was rich and smooth, and he brushed his lips against her ear, kissing the tips before descending his kisses delicately to her chin, avoiding her lips. He'd deny her a kiss, as she wasn't ready yet. "Let me aid your relief efforts and show you just how experienced I am."

Pollux deadpanned. "........... Please don't give me pet names." He liked to be complimented but petname were intimate. They were not even friends and while Mthone was polite and nice she still was Pollux, eternal stick in the mud who was work before play. Unlike her and his brother.

That was probably why those two got along so well.

Looking at the fun house he nodded however- "Here is safer- if others have gone in, we'd distract them in the enclosed spaces, not to mention a senshi and cat are weaken than whatever guards they likely have. It's better to offer reserve support and direct support on return when they likely will be chased or having suffered losses. For now, here is both the safest and most logical option. The big issue will be getting them further away as to not be chased... which I suppose Castor's ability might be actually useful for once."

Somewhere, Castor sneezed.

”Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked, turning towards the lieutenant who approached him with a water bottle. He didn’t bother getting out of his way, taking the brunt of the officer’s attack. “How about I make you a deal. You back off and I won’t hurt you. Walk away, and live another day,” He offered, shoving the lieutenant back, before rounding on the Captain once more. He knew Palatine said she could handle it, and he didn’t doubt that, but he wasn’t in the mood for killing quivering children who didn’t know what they were getting themselves into.

The cat seemed to be jumping in as well, which was fine with him. He knew it was a little outmatched, but the Captain picked the wrong senshi to try and corrupt. Sessrumnir was also highly against using rank to force people to get themselves killed. It was not good strategy and definitely did not offer any kind of confidence in your superiors.

He made to kick the Captain this time, pushing him farther into the room. He was going to make good on locking him up in the cage at this rate.

[ Jarosite - 50 - 9 = 41 HP, attacking for 5! ]

The slap caught him off guard. He was going to make some comment about silly senshi, and how impractical her outfit was (more so than that hoop skirt chick). Probably pull her curls, corner her, and shove a hand in her chest until she surrendered. The slap killed every single one of those ideas in a single moment. His head whipped to the side, his jaw slamming into the headphones around his neck.

Jarosite blinked slowly twice. He'd ruined carnivals for her, huh? He slowly turned his head back to her with a murderous gaze in his eyes.

"Then I suggest you start running, b***h," he snarled, and snapped his fist out to tag her in the jaw.

Oberon showed an exasperated look towards the senshi who started snipping at him, like he was somehow getting in her way when she was just standing there not doing anything. He wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate her help or offer for help, but what he didn’t appreciate was being treated like a worthless child, when he was obviously kicking more a** than many of them there.

“No idea” was the look he gave back to Perdita, shrugging silently as he followed the older senshi towards the captive that they’d discovered. He wasn’t trying to cause any delays, but he couldn’t help rolling his eyes when the woman once again asserted herself into the forefront of importance.

“Oh, so now you’re a team player?” he huffed, shoving the pipe against the chains bolted to the floor, using his weight to try and pry them off while the two girls pulled on the chains. “Careful, you might pinch her with the chains,” he warned, not wanting her to be in any more pain. “We’ll get you out, I promise,” he assured her with a small grin, before going back to putting all his strength into loosening the bolts. "Can you help me push on this, please?" he asked the dark haired senshi (Subamara), moving aside in case she wanted to try and help.

The grey gardian felt the other senshi join them before he spoke, but for a few moments, she ignored both senshi entirely in favor of the fair grounds below and her phone, which had not gotten any progress updates in far too long.

This was so frustrating!

Giving up on staring, for now, Ash made an exasperated sound and turned away to bound across the stone and wind herself between Pollux's ankles.

"I don't believe we've met before." She said as she moved forward with a light step and suddenly grew, grey cat shifting into willowy young woman in a burst of sparks. She turned with a swirl of her cape to give him a fancy little bow. "Ash, also known as the Silver Lady. Methone is one of my senshi, and it so happens, there are more down there as well... thus my preoccupation."

Sneakily, she pulled her phone from subspace, snapped a quick picture of the prince's brother, and tucked the phone away again, her hands soon tucked behind her back as she paced around Pollux.

"I said much the same thing a little while ago... I wouldn't be terribly useful in there and I'd hamper whomever was protecting me, thus why I'm not all gung ho to rush in. I am, however, rather anxious for my babies to be safely free." Breaking her calm sort of walking about, Ash spun to grab Pollux by his cheeks and moosh them with her palms, her face worried.

"The waiting is killing me... I feel useless." She said, her voice strained.

[ Andronicus - 47 HP - 1 - 46 HP, hates mirror mazes. ]

She came to a maze of broken mirrors and stopped. It was bad enough when it was a simple hedge maze, or just a regular maze. Mirror mazes were infinitely worse. She figured that if the mirrors were broken, it would be easier to see where she was, or at least not get lost.

No.

Ten turns later she found herself in the same intersection five times, only noticeable because the damn mirrors had torn off part of her capelet. Everytime she thought she went a new direction, she'd just gone the same way. "I swear I am going to hurt whoever thought this up..."

Sometime later, she came out of the maze on the other side with several scratches and a shredded capelet. There was a flick of Mars red again and it was gone. She rushed past the groups around the two senshi, trying to catch up to Themiscyra.

Kaefaux
Andro is on her waaay!

[ Bifrost - 42 HP - 3 - 39 HP, thinks this is ridiculous ]

Whoever decided that mirror mazes with broken mirrors was a good idea needed to be reeducated. Bifrost made it through the maze, sort of, and only sightly ended up with cuts and scraps.

[ Hydrus - 50 HP, honey badger don't give a s**t ]

Mirror maze? What mirror maze? Oh you mean the very logical path through a broken mirror warehouse? The one with the sharp glass and the poorly designed deadend paths? The path that Hydrus couldn't figure out how anyone could miss it?

Hydrus passed through it easily. He came out the other side to see someone he remembered from the future. Mintaka.

"... Mintaka... Are you going to leave her in the chains, or are you going to let her out?" Way to sound like a d**k Hydrus, way to go.
