'Viper tongues?' Even if he openly spoke his mind, at least he hadn't been so barbaric as to attack someone who'd done nothing to him. As far as his reason could reach, they were far worse than he. Although, he supposed he couldn't begrudge them for being a little on edge (as much as he wanted to). Even if there wasn't much he could offer by way of assistance, at very least he wanted to know what would happen to... to... His gaze flickered briefly to his hot-headed companion then away again.

He only wanted to be certain that Kennet wasn't getting in over his head. Obviously, it had been a valid concern... "If all you're after is my word that I won't betray you or turn you over, or whatever else you fear from one lone Oban, then you have it. I have no allies among those people..." If anything, he had only enemies. despite his race, he wasn't anymore welcome there than he was here. It was undoubtedly a sorry situation.

Yelena frowned at the sail scales as they fought. She stepped back out of the way to keep Iniu from getting dragged into it or hurt. She doubted the males would do any real damage to each other but she didn't want to set them off more. She frowned not sure why the two males were acting so strange. What had gotten into them? Was it mating season or something? She looked down at Iniu. She looked over at Mella and smiled. She giggled when the bag was dropped and the sail scales separated at least neither of them were hurt that was good. She looked over at Kiyelt and he seemed to have had such an odd expression on his face. Was he ok? She watched as he grabbed Norcrest. At least both of the males were in people's arms and no longer going at each other. She nodded at Mella and grabbed the bag then held it out to the lady. She looked back over at Kiyelt to see if the guy ok.

He had the dumbest expression on his face. Had something hurt him? Or was it something else? She doubted it was her or her kiss. Maybe her tickling him had done something.

Aril watched him carefully ready to give a very hard headbutt if needed.

Icewalker stared at the male ready to knock him over or stomp on him if need be.

Yelena giggled at Norcrest. She smiled over at Mella. "Thank you I would very greatly appreciate anything you would show me or any tips. And here is your bag. It was a good idea and seems to have had a good effect on them." Yelena looked back at Kiyelt as he spoke and chuckled. "Yes Norcrest you are a very big and strong manly male. But could you please wait until we are going against those who want to hurt us? Then you can show off just how strong and manly you are. Maybe it'll impress Iniu here." She stroked the sail scale's head gently.

Yelena giggled as Iniu flapped her wings like that. "Yes Iniu it seems you are driving all the boys crazy. Just be careful darling. Maybe save it for after the battles and then you can pick the best male." She nodded at Kiyelt. "Sure handsome if you want me to keep ahold of her I will darling." She didn't even think about using those terms since in her day dreams she always called him some sort of endearment. She turned her head as she heard the shout about weapons and all that.

Mella: Post ½
Location:Beast area.

Breeding season? Mella half stuffed Telwren into her sash to hide him from view. Grimacing she should have suspected as much but rarely had come across to many other sailscales with Telwren. Moreover when she was around others Telwren just took a break from her presence and then came back later. Sighing she supposed this was why she was painter and not a beast keeper. Telwren kept snarling at the other male but glancing at the female occasionally keeping tabs on her location. She looked at Yelena with a soft grin. “Well it was the only thing I could think of to stop them. I’ve been bitten enough to not want to stick my hands in.” And the damage to her stomach before certainly was enough to make her leery. “Speaking of art I think the art tips will have to wait. Duty calls and I think I heard some cues to get ready.” The smile slid off her face as it fell to a pensive state. She didn’t want to think about her friend dying and the horrors she has seen before. She knew she couldn’t fight but she could help others get ready and set. "I'll see you both later alright?" Turning she headed more toward the mass group of those headed to the weapons tent. Pass out weapons and food for scouts then head back to the beast pens to help with the creatures behind then to supply and get ready for the wounded. It seemed like a good plan. Well at least it was the best she could come up with.

Darling? Handsome? Was he hallucinating now? His jaw may or may not be open at this moment but he couldn't help himself. She had just used TWO affectionate words in relation to him and he felt little explosions go off in his head.

Somewhere in the misty fog he heard Antiope talking...somewhere, he wasn't sure how much sunk in yet because his world had narrowed considerably while his brain buzzed through the crazy stack of endorphines that her words had magically generated.

"Yes um... yes keep a hold of the sailscale...honey." His eyes widened at his own daring then the whispered words finally sunk in. "Anyone fancy a bit of scouting?" No one could touch him up here on cloud nine right? All the better to protect her, scouting couldn't be as awful as pitched battle right?

He gathered his whip closed and half muttered scold words at his overzealous sailscale who was groundedscale for the moment. But his mind wasn't truly in it. "Do you think they will have brought new beasties with them? Maybe we can catch one and take it home. I want a lizard thing so bad." He grinned sheepishly.

Hijil – Shifter Guard
Around the Camp: Feeding the kinfa

”Your...” Hijil looked at Bhima, startled, ”Your mother... she's here?” she swallowed, feeling a sudden wave of mixed emotions strike her and roll away. She fed Ath another nut to calm herself. Mother was a loaded word. Mother meant many different things. Though, Hijil was certain that Bhima's mother did not act as her own had. She tamped down on her reaction, taking a deep breath to wash it aside, and smiled at Bhima, as guileless as ever. ”If she is here, and not fighting, then we should ask her.”

Biroki – Shifter Sage
Supply Tents: Making Tea

His tea was coming along well, and – as he let it steep – Biroki decided that, in his capacity as a sage and, being already in the supply tents, he was going to make himself useful. He helped set out the weapons – mostly daggers but others as well. It took him a while to realize what was wrong... There was no tall, green, blind alkidike. It was odd to see an armory without her.

Where... he wondered, Was she?

He hoped that she had just stayed put in Chibale, away from the fighting. That would be a very good thing.

Tea done, he returned to Rastian with it...

Ruelash – Ice Knight
Around the Camp: Angry

Ruelash stared at the hand as if it might bite him, spit at him, or do some other unsavory thing.

”Uh...” he said, confused, ”Ruelash...?”

Ruelash was not used to civility, certainly not directed at him. The mage threw him off in lots of ways, and there was just something off about the younger man that made Ruelash uneasy, and it wasn't the magic. Ruelash got magic. No, it was something else.

Hazy yellow eyes meant nothing to the wild man, either. Clearly, the mage was a hybrid, probably wind and ice. No big deal – they were everywhere – and they came with all sorts of strange features, so it wasn't that.

Ruelash had no idea what bothered him. He just couldn't put his finger on it.

”What?!” he sputtered, pointing at the oban with his blade, ”That's an Oban. That. Ya can't even see that?!”

Well, okay, so the mage wasn't a traitor – he was talking about a perfectly logical, reasonable, smart way to go about doing this.

Ruelash was not logical, reasonable, or smart. ”There's going to be a battle, an' that means blood, so what's a little spilled here as 'pposed to there?” he retorted, turning back to the Oban.

”Go?!” he snarled, ”You ain't going nowhere...” but there wasn't the feeling to it that there had been. He felt deflated, un motivated, and with it, he felt unsatisfied and grouchy. His fun had been interrupted, and now it was just...

Dull.

Iroia spoke and he turned to listen to her, taking his other blade from her as he did so. ”Huh?” he said, blinking. Iroia was good at making things interesting again when they had lost their fun. ”You got something in mind?” he asked, having not heard Antiope's call to arms...

Ikkio – Shifter/Ice Prentice
Around: With Kelina to With Aysun, Chandra, Takoda, & Korra

Lasarra. The Lasarra.

Ikkio's attention was now fully on the woman. ”Is that so?!” sh said, hiding some of her excitement behind a neutrally friendly grin.

Lasarra was known to her as a tamer of beasts and was of mixed reputation in the girl's mind. On the one hand, Ikkio respected her ability to tame, train, and take care of beasts. On the other hand, she was jealous of the same.

”My father knows her.” she commented. She would have liked to talk to her more, but then Kelina decided to go to the stupid elder or whatever the woman was. ”Good luck!” she called.

”Fool...” she murmured. There was no point in going on some mission or whatever to get killed. Was she not more important?

Having nothing else to do, she leaned against the fence and watched the beast, her gaze soon turning to the antics of the insane twin Aysun.

He certainly seems to be having fun she thought. Not wanting to be bored – a terrible fate that she would only wish on her worst enemies – Ikkio made her way towards them.

There seemed to be a shifter among the twins, and a small wind child... a motley group if ever she saw one. Clearly, something interesting was happening, and she wanted in.

”Well hello.” she greeted, leaning with unconcious provocativeness against the fence just outside their circle of influence, ”This looks like quite the party”

[ between the supply and commanders' tents ]

Kauff nodded, fully intending to take the sword, but he found himself hesitating once Tafiir held it out to him. This was quite a morbid turn of events for a young man accustomed to nearly neverending laughter and pranks. Still, he only needed a moment to collect himself. He was determined to see this through for the boy's mysterious dead father as much as for his own living one.

Taking the wrapped weapon, Kauff nodded and managed a small smile, hoping it came across as reassuring. "I'll do my best to get some blood on it." Struck by how strange that sounded, the prentice chuckled briefly even as the ice boy was touched by grief. "And take care of it too." He held the sword propped between his hands and shoulder and shifted his weight, unsure of what to do now. They didn't strictly need to go back to the supply tent, considering he already had a weapon, nor could he see himself volunteering for any sort of stealth mission. He was... not stealthy. The sword wouldn't even see proper battle if he failed at sneaking around before the fighting had even begun.

"We should go get some more food," he said, the vague stirring of his own hunger making his decision for him. "We can look at some of the things you tied in here too, if you want."

"Well thats that," Iroia said to Xilarn. On to the next big thing although she would like to torture the guy a little more but that was only because he had ticked her off in a way that no one had for a long long time...if ever. But he said he was not a threat to then and Kennet she was pretty sure wasn't a traitor his Daddy would thump him and Xilarn good and that would be that too.

Iroia shook her head then fluffed herself up. "Antiope just sent out a call for scouts, it was rather loud, wonder how she projected her voice that far to out here, I should practice. Anyway sneaky sneak attacks are always so much fun, so I'm game, maybe we will get to save some of our side so they can join the fun." She bounced from foot to foot. "Action Rue lets go!" She was getting very hyper very fast and was seconds from streaking off to the supply tents for her borrowed weapons. It was like a gift! She felt electrified and a little crazy but the crazy pre-battle was quite normal.

She waggled her eyes at Ruelash. "Weapons!" and pelted off to get her hands on some new blades.

Makani - mage
Location: Edge of camp with a small group of others
Post: 5

Makani smiled, "Ruelash, that is an interesting name and one that I will be sure to commit to memory." He told the warrior before him. He could hear the confusion in the man's tone but felt that a bit of confusion was far more welcome then anger since it was a lot easier to deal with. Better that he caught Ruelash's attention and tripped him up a bit with word then let the man continue to fight. He knew that a battle was incoming, one against the Oban forces, and it was best if their side was at their best for that. Fighting now, amongst themselves, it would just make things easier for the other side... or at least that was what Makani felt.

"Hm?" Turning in the direction that he could sense the man before him was pointing he 'looked' toward what he felt was the general direction the Oban was in before he said with a bit of a smothered giggle, "Ahhh, you're right, I see now. Forgive me, I am not to well versed in those from Oba." It really was kind of cute, the way that he was sputtering over the fact that Makani couldn't pick out the Oban amongst them. He must not realize... something that he wouldn't rub in Ruelash's face, or that of anyone who missed it. He was after all doing his best to keep from having people realize, not wanting to appear as a hindrance or someone who needed pity.

Makani nodded along with what Ruelash was saying, "I am aware there will be another battle, more blood shed, and people I need to patch back together. As such I would rather see to it that such things are held off for a little while longer, because know soon enough there will be more then enough bloodshed then the Healers are able to deal with." Giving a smile he said, "In fact if I recall right I think might have actually healed you once before now, didn't I?" That felt like so long ago and Ruelash wasn't exactly conscious then. The energy that flowed around him felt the same as then though. Interesting, now he had a name to go along with that energy... as well as the more wild energy that Ruelash had when he was really hyped up. He supposed if he ever required the aid of someone like him he'd be easier to find now.

When the only female, and Ruelash's partner in crime, spoke up about Antiope looking for scout he gave a smile, "I will leave that to those who are more capable." He said, reaching out to pat Ruelash on the shoulder, "Do be careful, I'd hate to find you hurt again... though if you, or anyone else on the scouting team, need healing feel free to seek me out." Giving the man a smile and a nod he then headed toward the other 'team' that had been caught up in the whole fiasco and asked of them, "Are you both alright? Either of you need need of a healing session or will you be scouting as well?"

Rishima - Amazon
Location: Chatting with Jerarda, Gerraden, and Vollerei
Post: 4

Rishima gave a happy smile, his antennae twitching in delight as Jerarda seemed to approve of him. She was the one in the world that he most wanted to impress with all that he had done because she was the one that had started him on the path to becoming what he was today. The fact that seemed to be happy with the progress he'd made made him quite happy and all the worth feel as though it were very much worth it. The hug that he got in return from her, a night tight one, was probably the best reward that she could have given to him second to her words, "I have been doing my best to serve Aisha and our sisters." He said, though he knew also that in his position now he might very well need to try to lead them as well. It was a fleeting though and one that he mentally waved away.

Turning to look toward Vollerei he gave her a smile and a nod, "I think we might have met once before though I don't think we were introduced at time?" It was a while ago, during the last run in with the Obans, but Vollerei wasn't one that could be mistaken for any other Alkidike that he'd seen before. She was a very unique woman for sure he thought to himself without any sort of malice or insult, "I am glad that we could meet more formally, sister."

As Vollerei set to teasing Gerraden, referring to him as the 'clingy one' he could help but to give a little chuckle, "He might be that but he is quite sweet when you get to know him." Rishima told her. He felt that Gerraden really was a good person, kind to him, had taken care of him at times in the past when Rishima overworked himself. Sure, at times he seemed to dazed off into a world of daydreams but it hadn't ever happened at an inappropriate time so he couldn't really fault him. He supposed everyone had day dreams from time to time. Glancing toward where Antiope had called the volunteers to gather he asked of Jerarda and Vollerei, "If I might ask, sisters, will you be scouting on this secret mission as well?" It would give him more time to spend with Jerarda, something that pleased Rishima like nothing else since it had been too long. It would also allow him to get to know Vollerei a little better while also looking after Gerraden and completing their missing. He'd be busy, of this he was certain.

Bhima - post 5

She could see the nervousness in Hijil's body language and tilted her head. Was she worried that Mama Chike would not approve?

"Well, of course. She is a weaponsmith," she replied with a gentle smile, "Unfortunately my other mother has passed on to Aisha, but Mama Chike would love to meet you. The last she heard, I was running off to try and find my--" She paused and smiled shyly, a bit of a flush rising on on her cheeks. "Well. You."

Atipi gave an annoyed peep as she was lifted from the ground. Bhima tucked the bird away in her bundle and put what feed had not been consumed back in its pouch. With the way the elder had spoken, it may not be long before they were thrown into the heat of battle.

"Come," she said, "We may not have much time." She headed off toward the supply tents then, but not before taking Hijil's hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze.

Nyiim - post 3

The young man turned to the woman who had spoken to him, and he offered a ghost of a smile. His eyes caught an older man approaching as well, Jacinthus, a hunter of much higher rank who had, in fact, inspired Nyiim to turn to archery. He offered a polite nod, and then finally spoke to the women that had addressed him.

"Well, of course," he offered with a friendly nod, "We're trained to move quietly, and we can fend enemies off at long-range. I haven't met many archers from the other clans." He offered a polite little half-bow then. "I am Nyiim."

They certainly were a strange pair, if nothing else, Xil thought as he glowered at them through the barrier. In mere moments the female had forgotten all about him in favor of pouncing off and the prospect of... weapons? It wasn't anything to be too excited about, in his opinion. And they seemed so... so ridiculously simple-minded, easy to sway and distract. It was disappointing, really, that his people hadn't already crushed this resistance. Xilarn decided not to comment on it and instead turned toward the mage as he sauntered over, leaving the other pair behind.

"We're alright, I think," he replied with a careless shrug as he did his best to sound 'agreeable' in the face of someone that was willing to help him. "Just a scratch or two. Nothing I'd bother you with, for sure." his clay-colored gaze shifted off to stare in the direction the announcement had come from. Of all the places he wouldn't be allowed, a scouting party was probably one of them, among... just about everywhere else, undoubtedly.

"I'd better just stay put for now," Xilarn grumbled, awkwardly rubbing at the back of his neck. "I don't need anyone else thinking I'm encroaching on their territory."

            Nera
            Location: Sleeping Tents
            Company: Lucijah
            Post: 4

Tight muscled coiled in the hardened center of Nera’s stomach and a shuttered breath escaped her violently the moment the blade was withdrawn, for just a moment a sliver of fear captured her senses; Nera knew that Lucijah would never hurt her yet primal instincts prepared the redheaded youth just in case her heart was wrong. The serrated teeth from the knife that the taller female used at her restraints bit into her already marred and sore flesh, the ache pushed through the dull pounding that radiated up her forearms and settled into the pivotal joints of her upper limbs; it had been nearly a full week’s time since she had been captured and the only thing she could remember was the various degrees of pain she had suffered through. The freedom of bondage was short-lived as a softer binding wrapped around the torn and gnarled flesh of her wrists, if it wasn’t for the words the twilight-goddess whispered to her Nera would have found herself overcome by a new wave of grief; they had to carry on the deception until it was safe for them to act upon their truer feelings.

Everything became a blur within moments, the ground beneath her fell away and her head collided with something firm yet soft enough that it didn’t hurt, was Lucijah carrying her or had some other savage decided to take her as a prize? Pushing her face against the warmth the redheaded youth took in a deep breath and savored the familiar scent of her beloved. Lucijah did such a good job of not jostling her around that within the few moments of looking for a free tent Nera found herself dozing off from sheer exhaustion and relief. “You are the best part of me,” hazily murmured the boyish Oban as she was deposited onto the small cot. Everything throbbed as she settled onto the makeshift bed but as her arms were released from the temporary ensnarement she couldn’t help but attempt a wan smile only find the snowy-manned brute giving her an expression that mirrored her own. “You are the best of this entire world.” Leaning forward Nera took the outstretched ladle and pulled the liquid against her teeth before allowing it to pass into her tightened throat.

Ruelash – Ice Knight
Around the Camp → Supply tent: Angry

”Huh?!” Scouts?! Sneak attacks?! Well, Iroia seemed excited about it, and her excitement was infectious. ”Wait, hold up!” he called after her. What was she doing, running off to get weapons when they had an Oban to kill?

Then again...

He could understand why she'd be excited. Weapons were weapons after all, and they were finally being allowed to do what they did best. Kill.

I should probably go with her to make sure she don't hurt herself... he thought. It startled him, that he should be concerned at all.

”Don't think I'm done with you.” growled Ruelash, tossing his head at Makani in a very wild way, ”Or you.” he said, brandishing a sword in the direction of Kennet and Xilarn. ”Either of you. Don't trust either of ye. I'll kill ye both.” he shot another glare at Makani and sheathed his weapons. When mage-s**t here isn't looking... he thought. Or maybe when he was. Then he'd gut him too.

Images of gore and violence flit through his mind like bats, and they soothed him.

”But ye live. For now...” He started off after Iroia.

”Traitors...” he snarled quietly as he left, a pacing beast forced to retreat. Not from a threat, but by the actions of it's... kin? ”I'll kill the lot of them...” As he passed by Antiope on his way to Iroia and the weapons tent, he gave her a nod.

”You doin' the sneak attack thing?” he smirked, ”I'm in.” he said, before he continued on to make sure Iroia didn't hurt herself too badly with the knives...
