Saraf - prentice Location: Near the prisoner's cage - attacking Rayolun Post: 8
Saraf's went wide, mouth dropping over, looking quite startled when the Shifter climbed up and over the fence despite supposedly being wounded, landing outside of it. He glanced toward where Naevius stood, then back to the escaped Shifter again. Nobody was reacting... they were just standing around, were they so eager to let the captives go? If they took Naevius out of here what was to say that they wouldn't kill her the moment that they got out of the camp? It wasn't something he'd put passed a bunch of savages. What happened next only made things worse, as that giant Shifter followed the lead of his kinsman, coming crashing through the gate like some sort of beast, "Damn it." He hissed between his teeth, outrage rising. Where in Jonal's name was everyone else? They were in a damn war camp and nobody was coming?! Fine then, he'd do it himself it nobody else, even those who were armed, weren't going to act.
"Bunch of savages! Let's Naevius go!" He spat out, drawing his sword before lunging forward Rayloun, taking a swing at him. He'd do his best to take that him out first, he was injured after all and hopefully more easily dispatched. After that he'd try to figure out how he was going to deal with the giant of a man that had already taken out the gate that the idiot guards should have been defending. It seemed that all of them, himself included, had dropped the ball though. If they had been paying better attention, if they hadn't been so complacent, then Naevius wouldn't have been captured. It was one of those mistakes that they needed to amend and fast.

Rayolun: Prisoner in Captured Tent -- NOW OUTSIDE THE PEN FENCE! And engaged in combat with Saraf Post 8 (2/2)
Rayolun snorted and swung his staff up to deflect the sword by hitting it's flat side sharply. "Savages are we? Who is it that attacks out of nowhere instead of approaching and talking like civilized people? Who is it that enslaves others? Who has people put into pens like beasts?" He jabbed the end of his staff at the other's throat. Nice sword, he thought. Pity I don't use that sort of weapon.. but it is a blade and can deal damage.. I should take it from him. He put his weight briefly on his wounded leg to take a small step forward, knowing from the pain that he'd not be able to run very far if he had to fight for too long. Good thing there are scouts out there.... I should be able to make it to them and then out if our people start to run now! He thought to himself as he jabbed his staff forward towards the other's throat.
"Let our people go we let her go. Simple. Savage that I am.. I'd rather kill you all. Simpler that..." He said softly as he kept a wary eye out for any other Obans that may see what was going on. They were too distracted by what ever was making the roaring sounds but he couldn't count on it. He hoped it was the scouts he thought were about providing a distraction to give them time!
He could hear and see the prisoners nearest this gate start to flee. Good, at least some will make it back home to tell them that we have not given in yet!

SHALVESTA Post ? xxxxCaptured Tents
Hmm. How reassuring to know she wasn't the only one puzzling over it, left out of the loop. Considering what the man said, Shalvesta turned back towards the other two women. Shalvesta wasn't immune to the Oban normality of slavery - to her, she could only vaguely sympathize. But truly, she couldn't understand what it was to be a slave. Her own family had slave workers manning the arduous trading, doing labor work while her father and Obans dealt with skilled labor.
That being said, it was one thing to deal with a group already enslaved day-to-day - it was quite another to stare into that cage and see people who had been free. Shalvesta didn't know how it must be to have a way of life open and free stripped away, even if they were becoming members of another, better society. In the end, she was conflicted - but not opposed enough to raise her voice more than to insist on better treatment. Considering the freeing of slaves and the moral ramifications could wait, she thought, until her own issues were sorted out. In the end, after all, Shalvesta decided she was a pessimist.
And being a pessimist, when a woman from the cage called to Naevius directly, Shalvesta's hand instantly snapped to her sword, stepping forward and opening her mouth to interrupt - but already Naevius had gone. And been taken.
Instantly, seeing the sharp edge at Naevius' neck, Shalvesta dropped her hand and instead raised them, placatingly, her eyebrows furrowing. "You must understand, we don't have the power to meet those demands - let me... let me get the captain." Shalvesta turned, watching the large man skulking about near the Ice woman. Then he braced himself - and smashed through the gate, which almost seemed to crumble like dust under his bulk. Shalvesta gawked, every instinct, drilled into her by her sword teacher, telling her to take her sword and attack - but her eyes flicked back to Naevius.
By now, the savages would realize it wasn't just sentiment that stayed their hands - but that Naevius was truly something important. IT was too late to bluff.
Gods, she just wished no one saw her as a traitor. "Okay! Okay. Shalvesta picked up her sword and wound the leather belt strap around it until it was tied shut, then stepped to the fence and threw it over, to be caught by any savage inside who could use it. Then she turned her eyes to the Ice woman, swallowing thickly. "Please, whatever you do, don't hurt her - she's worth more to you alive." Maybe it was betrayal to inform them that Naevius was important, but the risk of them spiriting her to the woods, assuming she was a passerby, and killing her before she could betray secrets, unknowing who she was, that really scared Shalvesta. The lesser of two evils seemed the best option. "I'll show you where your things are, just please don't hurt her."

Yelena was a little startled at Kiyelt's sudden appearance but was relieves to see him. She had been so afraid he was down there in those cages. But he wasn't. He was here with her. She didn't know what she would have done if he had been in one of those cages. Probably go rescue him then kick his butt and yell at them when they were away for getting caught in the first place. But she didn't need to worry about any of that since he was safe. She leaned against the hand as he touched her hoping she could give him some sort of comfort. She looked around at all the chaos. She wanted to go help the others.
To help get them to safety. She didn't want anyone of her companions and comrades to be left here. Left in captivity. It just seemed so cruel. She slipped closer silently and hoped that Kiyelt would follow her. Or maybe he'd be smart and stay hidden.
Oggie's coming to pick Nua up, prepare him for this sudden "rescue".

Ogbonna, post (I give up on trying to remember these things) >>> HEADING FOR THE HEALING TENTS
From the moment that Chalcedony had interrupted his assault on the fence, to the very second the fence came down, Ogbonna's vision had been a blur. He made a point to refuse any affections from those in the captured tents and slumped against the corner, tears only making themselves known if light shined upon his face. Thoughts of Nuawhan, a throbbing headache, and the hopelessness of the situation swirled around him, giving him a raw awakening to what pessimism was. He half wondered if this sort of thinking was what Rastian did when he was alone...
Suddenly, the room cleared, jarring him from his focus. He scrambled forward and toward the tent flap as it waved open, his eyes catching a glimpse of his comrades making their escape. A childlike awe flickered back into his eyes at the sight of Chalcedony's might, and a set of tears flowed over his blood-stained cheeks. One day... He could be like that...
A glint from the side of the tent was the next thing to draw his attention. A sword, one of considerable size, lay against the ground, as if waiting for someone to pick it up. Ogbonna stood, gained his balance, and allowed himself to draw close to the sword. He had never used a sword before, he had only bee exposed to arrows and gauntlets in his formative years... Curiously, he knelt to it's handle and traced his hand against it's motif, before snatching it up. There was no time for hesitation, he had a fight to get into!
"NUAWHAAAAN!" He screamed, throwing himself out of the tent. He flailed the sword around as if he were being attacked by wasps and continued to scream, which was all he knew how to do without his gauntlets. This is what swordsmen did, right? Run around, slash, scream, dodge, stab, jump backwards? He hadn't really studied swordsmen as they fought, but he'd heard enough about them to make a rough assumption. Besides, if he was doing it wrong, this was war, there was more than enough room for unconventional tactics.
All he could think about was grabbing his Nuawhan and leading him away from this camp. If the others followed him, so be it, but it would be every man, and their lover, for themselves in the end.

Sebastian - post 3 /1
So the savages were going to try to stay reasonable. That was pleasing. He himself did not want to be taken a traitor, but he straightened out and turned to the woman with the golden makeup. All they'd have to do was alert the soldiers, but was it worth the risk to Naevius' life? He had been tasked to keep her safe, and now she stood with a blade to her neck. He made a display of recoiling his whip and nodded. They would do whatever it took to help Naevius. It seemed that the dark-skinned man had a rather good point, but then they were holding a semi-defenseless young woman hostage now.
Ichil
When Shalvesta moved to give her sword, Ichil sighed deeply. The air was full of tension and her nerves were on edge. She wanted to go closer and offer some help, but for now all she could do was stand there. Where were the soldiers? Had they turned to some other sabotage? She couldn't tell. All she knew was that they would soon be surrounded.
It took everything the young mother had to not jump out of tree and into the fray once she saw a familiar face. Not just any familiar face, her sister's boyfriend. Kelina cursed under her breath as she noticed he was wounded yet it didn't stop him from scaling the fence and dropping to the other side. A part of her brain was cheering for him and she wanted to say, 'show them what we shifters are made from!' but all she could see was the one attack him with a sword while all he had essentially was a walking stick. She shook her head, she couldn't let him get hurt even more, Lasarra would kill her! Adjusting her aim, she aimed for the Oban attacking Rayolun. She didn't want to kill him so she just wanted to get away with wounding him so he couldn't fight. The sword arm maybe? Kelina aimed and fired.

Kel is shooting at Saraf, if her 'sneak' roll is higher than what orphe rolls, she hits, if not, he's distracted
Saraf - prentice Location: Near the prisoner's cage - unconscious and wounded Post: 8 (this one doesn't count)
Saraf gave a snort at the Shifter, "As there there is a point in having polite conversation with your kind. We have our orders and it's to take the North, there is no need for talk." He said, continuing to swing where he saw openings, hoping that he would be able to take the Shifter down. As they fought he found himself realizing that the man was well trained, not something he wanted to admit and not something that would force him to back down. If he could just hold them off until aid arrived. It didn't appear as if anyone else was going to do so, the lot of them had given up, standing still, allowing these beasts to take Naevius away. Weak, all of them, and simple minded... did they think that they people wouldn't just kill her once they'd escaped?! They would no longer have need of her then so why would they bother to keep her alive, especially with the one before him proclaiming that he'd rather kill them all. Leaving Naevius with them was like signing her death warrant and yet nobody else was moving!
Giving a snarl Saraf lunged forward again... but something off to the side distracted him, the telltale glimmer of an arrow head. He jerked his head to one side, spotting the archer it belonged to, and gave a colorful curse under his breath, "Infiltrator!" He spat out, lunging to the side to avoid the arrow that flew passed him. The distraction caused by the archer cost him though as a moment later the staff the Shifter he'd been dueling connected. There was a loud 'crack' sound that reverberated in his skull and half his vision went red. At first there wasn't any pain, then again there also wasn't any sound either save for a distant buzzing.
His arms dropped to his sides first, his sword falling from his hand to hit the ground at his feet, and then all at once he was hit by the pain. He staggered for a moment from side to side before pitching over to the side, landing in a heap as darkness swallowed him up, blood oozing from the wound on the side of his head.

Her hands were visibly shaking now as her people started either following orders, as in her friends, and some not...as in Saraf. When Shal wanted to go get the captain even Nae thought that was a bad idea. "Shal. Don't get the captain. It'll only make things worse." Naevius mouthed 'thank you' to Shalvesta who gave over her new sword because she told her to. It was strange that when her captor whispered in her ear, she actually believed her.
The twang of a bow string drew her attention back to Saraf as the arrow crossed her vision and headed towards him. She seemed to be seeing everything in slow motion, was it because she was dying? Naevius gasped as the arrow missed, thankfully, only to have to watch him get hit in the head and crumple to the ground. "Saraf..." She said rather pitifully. The pain in her neck, literally, was gripping her tighter as if she could tell her captive's want to rush over to her fallen comrade. "I...I will come willingly just leave everyone else alone." She asked of her captors. She didn't want to put her friends through anything, and if they were here, they could give reports as to which way they took her and what they looked like.

Chalcedony - fortress Location: Outside the Captured Tents Post: 8(( This one doesn't count toward post count))
Chalcedony gave a slight wince as the young Oban was knocked unconscious with a single blow to the head. There was a part of him that wanted to check on him, to make sure he was still alive, but he knew that there were more important things to do at the moment. He couldn't risk showing any sort of sympathy toward an enemy, not when they needed to get their people and get out of here. As such he couldn't just be standing around here, he had to move and do his duty he thought to himself before he turned his attention toward one of the Oban woman. She was talking about 'getting the captain' but Chalcedony instantly shook his head, "Not that guy." He was nothing more then a pervert with rank, not someone that would be useful in negotiations he thought to himself. If anything he'd probably request that his fellow Shifter knock the Captain out as well were they forced to deal with him.
Instead he turned his full attention toward Shalvesta, "I would like you to escort me to where you are holding our pregnant ally, she was sent to fletch some arrows. I am sure that it wouldn't look suspicious for me to be out if you are with me." He told her, feeling that it was far better then running off in a random direction as the Leaf Tribe boy had done moments ago. He wished that he'd had a chance to catch hold of him but there was just too much going on. If he could at least get to Senja then at least that would be one more person they could get out of this place... so long as things went smoothly at least.
Glancing toward Ethelfleade and Rayulun he said, "I think you, and those still within the cage, should start toward the edge of camp. Retreat and I will join you once I retrieve our missing friends. But first... before all of that..." He murmured, heading over to where the Zenan woman was standing still holding firm to her hostage. Chal scooped up Saraf's sword, finding it to be far too light for his liking, before he wrapped on large, muscled arm around Naevius's midsection, easily scooping her up off her feet. Even combined the woman and the sword still felt far lighter then the shield he usually carried he thought to himself before he said, "Behave and things won't have to get anymore messy then they already have. Personally I'd rather just get our people and get out of here without anymore of your people ending up like that guy over there." He said, motioning toward the fallen Saraf.
Kiyelt shadowed Yelena beside her for support and comfort. He wasn't sure what she would do with all the action going on. It was rather chaotic in the pens right now, so much so that his hair was trying to stand on end but it was far too long too accomplish that feat now.
He watched the drama unfold but was unwilling to leave Yelena. They would be silent backup in the case of a retaliation. He didn't know the people in there very well and not even the people trying to get them out. But they were from tendaji, so he would help where he could. in the case of attempted recapture.

Her arms were beginning to shake by the time that Chal decided to come relieve her of the oban woman. She wiped her hand on her pants, hoping the cut wasn't too deep as it would still be a little bit before they would get to a healer. She didn't think the big one's amendment to her plan was such a good idea, but then again they did need to find the pregnant one. At least with the appearance of that arrow meant there were scouts around and hopefully that meant they would have their backs covered. She rustled everyone she could to move with her. There was the one hybrid she had meant to include in her plan but ran out of time. He was just laying on the ground where he had attacked the guards and been beaten. She knelt down beside him and shook BarAmal's shoulder. "Come. We're leaving this place. We have to go." She said urgently.
Not wanting to keep the big one from finding the pregnant one, she walked out of the fenced area with a slight smile on her face as it felt good to not be trapped. She noticed Dyakida being led by the familiar. Hopefully it knew where it was going since it was already ahead of her quite a bit. Fleade stopped at where Saraf was laying on the ground with blood oozing from the wound the violent shifter had given him. She knelt there for a moment to feel his pulse. It was there so he wasn't dead, Fleade didn't know whether to be happy or mad. "He'll live." She said softly before touching Ray's shoulder. "We should get out of here." She said as she continued towards the big one and the group of Obans. Her back was straight and her head held high as she approached. She took hold of the woman again in the same manner she had before. She didn't have the size or strength as the big one did so it was really the only option for the Zenan. "You." She said at Sebastien. "Do you have any rope?" He had a whip so it would make sense for him to have rope right? Fleade looked to the big one, "Be careful." She told him. He was higher in rank than she was so she couldn't technically tell him what to do so as long as she got most of the people out she was happy.
She looked to two of the others(NPCs or if anybody wants to have their chars do it I guess, just no hurting! D<)who had followed her out of the fence. "Take those two with us." She asked them, well more told them than asked them to take ahold of Ichil and Seb. "We need to get moving." There was a new urgency for her as they were finally outside the fence.
"I will come of my own free will," he said, "Where she goes, I go." He nodded to Naevius, and then shook his head to the blue-skinned woman. It was a good thought, but no. The only place to find rope would be in the supply tents, unless one of their allies had a spool. Boy, when the King heard about this...
The big man who had accepted the food now held his charge in the air by the waist. The King's cousin no less! He scowled and stepped up beside them, hoping that any archers' volley would be stopped lest they strike the much larger target. Really he wasn't so worried, he'd just rather not get an arrow to the head.
Ichil
Ichil gave an indignant yell as she was grabbed. Never had she been treated so roughly! She tried to jump out of the way but only succeeded in looking like a fool as she bounced up and down. The man holding her sighed and rolled his eyes, coming after Ethelfleade with Ichil's arms behind her back.
Nyiim - post 6 Tale Scout
They had to get moving! The wounded would undoubtedly be recaptured and there was still the matter of the captives that flowed from the gates still. Other Obans were beginning to notice. He drew his bow and flanked the group, prepared to fire at anyone who may try and stop them. War was terrible, but things had to be done. If the Obans were smart, they would simply let them leave with this noble. Nobody had to get hurt, but if he must...

BarAmal Location with Ethelfleade and those escaping
BarAmal wasn’t certain how long he had lain there until someone shook him whispering they had to leave. Blinking a few times he propped himself up on his shoulder and rolled the rest of the way up. He followed the woman blindly not really seeing what was completely around him. There were others and they weren’t obans. He grabbed hold of a woman when the ice woman instructed it. The girl yelped and struggled for a moment, but was easy to hold in place. Sighing he really wondered if this was going to end well. Holding her hand behind her back he nudged her forward. “Enough, just walk.. please.” He was well past the point of caring still treating a woman with some sense of respect was so drilled into his head that the please came out unintentionally. He rolled his eyes when he realized what he had done. Really being polite to a woman he was walking off with like a prisoner. He was a fool. "Stay quite or I will gag you." He whispered to her really hoping she could listen to basic directions.
