As she returned to the battlefield with the newly purified Senshi beside her, it was no surprise that he went straight for a certain General. For a brief moment, Pasiphae dared to hope. Perhaps it was the residual optimism from the glorious sight she had witnessed. Perhaps it was because Vespa burned bright in his words as well as his aura. Perhaps it was because she had never truly let go of her belief that, deep down, even the most heinous Negaverse agent was a human being and could be reached. Even Mica.

But then, all of her hope proved for naught. Mica could disperse the madness around them, and instead chose to issue another threat, hold another sword over their heads. Her mouth set into a hard line as she moved forward. Mica had run out of chances. She had hurt Harper. She had hurt Scott. She would hurt, without a doubt, Scott's family. Who knew how many others had felt the thrust of her spear, the ice of her hatred? The Shame Senshi took hold of the spear's hilt and stabbed forward.

It was going to end now.

In her tenure in the Negaverse, Mica had stabbed multiple victims and not a single one did she feel an ounce of regret for. Her blade, whether it was her rainbow crystal or an actual blade, always dug deep and if one was not rendered lifeless by its strikes, its scars were deep, everlasting and all told the story of how one should never cross her path as an enemy. Mica's spear had grown and claimed many victims... never once did she think that she herself would have been counted as one of them.

The dandelion of a Senshi, one that she had marked before and one that had stolen her little Wasp from her, had a far stronger bite than she had ever expected, and Mica was so focused on striking down Vespa that she did not once see Pasiphae in her bold charge. All it took was a single thrust, and the already weakened armor gave way to the spear's bite. Mica felt it plunge in deep, very deep, and no amount of strength or will power that she might have possessed could keep her in forward motion now.

All she could do was stumble backwards, blood pouring from the fractured segments of her chestplate and her lips as she looked down at Pasiphae and then down at her own treacherous weapon... before falling backwards completely. "This... wasn't..."

Megrez had not been able to do much more but watch the incredible events as they transpired. She had made contact with Mica's knee and initially caused her to fall forward, but that felt completely inconsequential to what followed. Still sitting in the fountain, she had seen Pasiphae grab Mica's spear and turn it on her, and it had struck very, very true. She stared at the fallen Mica for a moment, then at Pasiphae. "Holy s**t," she said, her voice rife with awe. Finally standing up and getting out of the water, she came closer to Pasiphae and Vespa's side. "That was amazing. I want to clap for you, but I don't think now's the time." Megrez was legitimately impressed; anyone who had the guts to shoot for the kill like that would earn a quick spot in her heart.

Kairatos' encouraging shouts fell silent for a moment when Pasiphae made her move, one that in every line of her body read a combination of determination and... he wasn't sure. Desperation perhaps. Since purification he'd cast no mortal blows, he hadn't needed to, and in those who might be saved, he didn't like the idea... killing someone just to kill them, it was too much like the Negaverse.

This however, was the sort of exception you made. The one where you knew it was going to hit you hard, and you did it anyway because the other choice was to let someone walk free and maybe do worse.

No... definitely do worse. All the forces they'd brought here today... anyone the purified... senshi of... he didn't know the sphere but it looked like bees or something... anyone he'd left behind were in danger without that very... very clear message.

Saving people didn't make you weak. Purifying didn't mean you took a threat to the innocent lying down.

The disappointment in striking Gra found no time to sink in when a blistering light echoed out from beyond the trees, causing the general to seethe with a searing ache embedded behind his eyes. Shutting them momentarily, he groaned while measuring a handful of paces backward to buy some time to recover. Somewhere in the blinding crack of power, a Negaverse aura gave way to far more aggravating auric energies as someone managed what he could not. I don't even know your name, but you have a way of rubbing it in already...

When the crippling pain subsided to a dull ache, he squinted out at the convoluted scene in time to witness a senshi he recognized from his days as a human striking at Mica with her own weapon - the general's armor broke beneath the force, shattering into her skin while the blade plunged deep. The location alone indicated that she might be laid out for a great span of time if not dead before long.

He hoped the latter, for all the Negaverse was worth.

"Don't stop zere, Senshi - you'f killed before. If you intend to kill again, zen don't stop wis' just one blow. Or if you're so disquieted by ze sought, hand ze blade to me and I will finish your handiwork." You needed no weapon to end someone on that night, so long ago. I wonder if that contributed to your determinations now - or if you never truly considered it while you committed to such an act.

The Negaverse would be fools to avoid retreat now - with one officer down and none present on the field with enough attention to devote to medical assistance, they stood to lose a general in tandem with the corrupted eternal already committed to the cause of the White Moon. Further damage to Buddy might spur Serpentine into retreat himself, which would take care of the majority of power on the field - and without upper guidance, the rest would soon succumb or retreat on their own. Settled in his decision, Bischofite sought to wrench Gra from his owner's face by any means necessary - even if he had to chew the damned crab's legs off.

If nothing else, they served as a meal on their own.

At the sound of the voice behind him, calling for him to wait up Falias had slowed his pace further, allowing the Page to close the distance between them, before continuing to make for the walkway from where he thought that he'd heard the commotion come from. The other's comment that he had probably been at this stuff longer than him had felt weird, particularly since it hadn't been that long that he'd been telling others the exact same thing.

"You have a better starter weapon than I did" he said, assuming that the book that the other had almost whacked him with was the other's 'weapon'. Not it would be much good against what a lot of the Negaverse members he'd had the misfortune to cross paths with had, however it looked heavy enough to give a good thwack and (to his way of thinking anyway) was much better than the mistletoe sprig that he'd started with.

"I'm Falias, by the way" he continued as he carried on making his way closer to the walkway, it occurring to him that names was something that hadn't come up in the brief exchange of words that had established that the Page with him was as clueless as he was as to what was going on. "Falias Squire..." His voice trailed off as a brilliant white light suddenly came from the direction of what looked to be a nearby forest and lit up the park for one brief, spectacular moment.

"What the heck?!" Falias didn't even seem to notice that the startled exclamation had come from him, green eyes automatically turning to look in the direction that the light had come from, before turning to look at the Page...

Or at least that had been his intention, until he had caught sight of what looked to be some kind of fight happening up ahead on the part of the walkway that headed towards a grassy area - some sort of three-way between an eternal senshi (Thraen), a Nega-General (Serpentine) and a Nega-Captain (Zircon) - and although he didn't have a clue about what was going on, he knew an outnumbered fight when he saw one - given the fact that there was also a Lieutenant-level Nega-officer (Galena) nearby.

"I'm going to intervene" he told the Page as he started making his way towards the walkway. Or at least he was very much going to attempt to"There's three against one over there." At least that was how it was appearing from where he was.

Pasiphae had been involved in many battles, and they never grew any easier. Tears welled in her eyes and her face paled as she stared at the blood. It gushed from the wound, dripped from the General's mouth... sank into every crevice Pasiphae's lace gloves afforded. It seemed no matter how time toughened her, she could not completely cut away her empathy. It did not have to be this way, yet too often it was. There were few beings filled with Chaos that she felt were irredemable, but Mica had made her choice.

A sopping wet Senshi she did not know (Megrez) expressed obvious admiration for what she had done, but the Shame Senshi could not offer the same amount of enthusiasm in return. She never took pleasure in inflicting pain. She did what was necessary to protect others. Sometimes that meant having to injure those that would harm them. For the sake of comraderie, she tried to summon a smile for the other and nod to indicate she had been heard... but the expression came out weak at best. Pasiphae would apologize for it later.

A humanoid youma (Bischofite) spoke in strangely cozy tones, but Pasiphae recoiled both mentally and physically from him. His familiarity disgusted her; youma had long ago been classified as monsters in her judgmental view of the world. Even Bazzite she could only remember with sadness. If this Chaos rotten thing had once been a person who knew her, or that she had known, she did not recognize him now... and he was lost to her. The best she could offer was death so that Chaos could not parade around in its All of her experience told her that youma could not be saved.

So why did it leap to attack Buddingtonite? Why did it encourage her to finish dispatching Mica? How could it rebel? It was a mystery that would have to be solved another time. For now, there was still too much at stake to dwell on either the twisted avian or Mica. Pasiphae sucked in a breath and turned her back on the injured woman in the fountain. Looking at the area around her, she tried to decide where to intervene. Until the battle was over, she did not have the luxury of falling apart.

Eternal Thraen // Paved Walkways towards Grassy Area (West)

Trigger warning: Wound

Energy whorled all around, but the change was plain- one less Eternal Corrupted aura. One success managed. Now we need to all make it out alive and neutralize as many of them as we can.

Arm up blocking the hold from strangle, but not from tangled grappling and a mess of weight shifting between the two of them. Breath forced out with a blooming cloud of pain from a body shot. Don't need to breath in just yet. Press-

He could hear approach, Zircon's voice cutting through the general battle cacophony. She was giving orders to someone or something, but at grapple distance with a General he didn't have the luxury of redirecting more attention than to make sure he wasn't about to get starseeded from five sides. A glimpse of bomber-brown.

Thraen pushed his feet and weight forward into Serpentine in a sudden shift from the pulling of the failed choke-hold. He was pushing to get out of the way-

Not enough fast enough. There was a shivering crunch through body while heat and wet in equal measures strained out from a runnel. The white, green and blue uniform was gashed open from base from shoulderblade down along to the bottom of his ribs- part pressure laceration and part tearing from the teeth-like protrusions of the weapon edge. It was the right arm, gone pins-and-needles and weak in hold against Serpentine. Thraen dropped down and rolled out- he couldn't sustain being between them.

He managed up to a crouch at the end of a trail of red splotches. "Zircon. Good tactics."

Cpt. Titanlåvenite // Center Fountain: Main Fight

Between the Youma right in his face and the eternal (Maia), Titan had no spare attention. He didn't see the magic coming, didn't note it until one of the Youma's thrashes tried to force his footing to the side. But it was like there was a wall, or ring, or something that caught and pushed him with the force into the beads instead of just scudding his boots along the pavement.

What is going on? There were floaty things in the air? All over the air, but only around himself. And there was another Eternal coming on ( a very small one. A very small boygirl one that he wasn't sure what to make of, other than he thought maybe he'd seen them somewhere before in passing. Probably one of the large operations.

Titan let the Youma go with a heave. At least it seemed just as confused by the beads as he was, and started clawing at some of them to get back to getting at him.

Kerberos was finally back on his feet after that little cat-mauling incident, and then he felt it - the oppressive aura of an Order Princess. He started backing up quickly, even before Vespa returned to the battlefield, clearly no longer on the side of Chaos.

This operation had failed, and there was no need for him to stay. But the feeling of that purification was implanted in his mind - it was odd, one man's aura shouldn't have made such a difference, but it did, somewhere in the back of his head.

And he felt guilty - but it felt nice, to him. He sohuld have been repulsed, but he wasn't.

And that was what made him run, bolt from the park and into the trees and hope no one followed him.

[[Kerberos out!]]

Mimisbrunnr was weak and rationally she knew she could not linger, not with a hole in her gut, but she struggled against being taken away. "Wait, I want..." But she could feel it, in the distance, an aura as powerful as Camelot's - and the sudden disappearance of a Corrupted Eternal aura, replaced with an Order one.

Vespa had purified, or at least, someone had.

"I...never mind. Let's...let's get out of here." Hopefully before anything terrible happened to anyone else. Painite was menacing Hvergelmir now, but she knew there was nothing she could do. She could barely stand, she was dying, and she would serve no one by being another casualty Hver had to carry.

"Please."

Amytis wanted to stick with Vespa, to make sure he was okay, but that really wasn't her job. They'd met once, trained against each other - even if it had been at least mostly friendly, and she was incredibly happy for him, she couldn't stick like glue. No matter how much she wanted to. And well, alright, she was a little afraid. What would happen if she got too close to a massive burst of Order energy, like a Princess? Sure, as far as she knew, no Dark Mirror could be purified, but would it hurt?

So instead she hung back and watched Vespa go, and when she felt that massive burst of Order, and the winking out of a dark aura replaced by the presence of a much lighter one, it was a relief. Vespa was free from the Negaverse's hold. They wouldn't be able to twist him the way they'd twisted White Phoenix (Wolframite, she supposed, not that she cared much to know his name) and the other officers who had fought with him to destroy the Dark Mirror.

She wanted to run forward and drag him out of the way of the General with the massive spear, but she was frozen in place by fear.

And then an Order Eternal took care of that problem. Amytis made a soft, surprised squeaking noise, and felt nausea rising in her stomach. She hadn't even done it, but this was the first time she had ever seen someone injured so gravely in front of her.

God, she had to find Tantalus and get out fast.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tantalus had not expected the interference of the massive Captain. Perhaps he sohuld have - there were certainly enough Negaverse loyalists here, he couldn't have expected anything else. Then again, how was he supposed to predict literally having someone else thrown at him as ammunition?

Azurite wasn't too heavy, but he still ended up on his back on the ground, and there was a witty quip ready on his lips about preserving her reputation ---

but then she called her magic.

And suddenly, the air around him was far too hot, and Tantalus found his breaths coming more and more shallowly.

'No,' he thought, 'no no no no no, not again,' and as panic set in his breathing became even more constricted than the attack caused.

Rationally, he knew that panicking helped nothing.

Irrationally, as the air drained from his lungs, all he could feel was hands aorund his throat and hot breath near his face, just like when his shade had tried to choke him to death.

"I'm really sorry," Erythrite said, and she actually sort of sounded like she was, "but you might not want trouble - problem is, I do." She had to prove her loyalty. She had to prove that she was still a good officer. And sure, beating on a Page wasn't the most efficient way to do it, but it as something. It would have to do, in lieu of actually being competent.

"I mean, you could surrender," she said, and then she aimed another punch at the same spot, "that'd work out for both of us." Well, not so much for him, but certainly for her.

Vespa had hoped that Mica could be talked down. He had little hope that she would ever forgive him or leave this battlefield without a deep disgust in her heart, but he had at least hoped she'd see the fruitlessness of a continued fight and leave. If that meant she'd hunt him down later, then that was simply something he'd have to deal with later. And yet, when she tried to strike him, he wasn't surprised. And truly he didn't blame her. She had every right to hate him...

What he wasn't expecting, though, was for Pasiphae to be the one to drive the blade forward, and the sight of blood finally caused Vespa to release a breath he had been holding onto for too long. He didn't blame Pasiphae- she saved his life, because he knew Mica would have certainly ended his! From this short distance, it was clear to see the horror in her eyes, and he wished he could have comforted that, yet he felt immobilized. This wasn't how he had wanted the night to end... he had grown to despise Mica but he would have never have cried for her death...

Perhaps there was still time! He grabbed for the spear and tried to pry her off- maybe they could stop the bleeding! He didn't want anyone to die for him. No one should have died for him! "Hang on, Mica... let me help you!"

Buddingtonite had sensed something change in the air around him. Thanks to Gra's vicegrip over his face, he couldn't see the bright light that flashed from the woods, but he could feel the change, and just like that, any and all interest in this fight was gone from his mind. They lost, simple as that, and like hell he was going to stick around for much longer. Not when there was a rapid dog still attempting to harm him and his personal youma.

The moment Bischofite began to try and pry Gra off of his face, he resorted to the most underhanded tactic he could think of, though he held no shame in pulling it off. Maybe other officers would have abandoned their youma to their fate and accepted the consequences, but Buddingtonite loved Gra too much to allow a beast like Bischofite to have the honor to taking his life. And he knew that Gra would not release his protective hold on his master, so what choice did he have?

Buddingtonite thought of the fountain, not too far away from where he was but out of Bischofite's reach, and he, along with Gra, teleported to the fountain. Once again his boots were submerged in water, but no Bischofite was clawing at his youma, and Gra, unable to hold on any longer, released his spider-like legs and fell, right into Buddingtonite's arms. And he looked absolutely horrible! "Gra! Gra! Say something!"

The youma gurgled, perhaps attempting to speak the only words it knew, but it was weak, too weak for Buddingtonite to understand. He held the crab youma close, and Vespa's shout pulled his attention to the area behind him, seeing only Mica and the spear lodged within her torso...

That... son of a b***h!

He said nothing, rushing over as fast as he could despite the water, and he grabbed Mica's body before she fell, and all it took was a single pull to wrench the weapon from Vespa's hold. With one hand, he held his wounded youma, and the other, he held Mica up, propping the spear up and holding it as still as possible as to not cause her any more pain.

How did this happen?

Does it even matter? GET HER OUT OF HERE!'

"Shut up... all of you..." Buddingtonite growled, looking around for Serpentine and seeing his predicament. He only had two hands and he knew that if he got close then he'd succumb to whatever magic that his friend was caught up in. He had only one choice now, and he shouted, loudly, for all of the Negaverse officers to hear, he hoped. "Negaverse, fall back at once!"

He didn't care much for the order, but he suspected that if they wanted to survive the night and not suffer the same fate as Mica here, they would wise up. He didn't want to leave Serpentine, but he knew his friend would break free from the spell and find him. He flashed his friend a look, one that he was certain he'd understand, and without a witty comment, Buddingtonite disappeared, taking Gra and Mica with him.

Buddingtonite and Mica exit

Tsui had to admit that this guy had some serious balls, but then again, wasn't she doing the same thing when she was at the basics? It was almost sad to see the Negaverse claim someone as audacious and courageous as this kid, but from what she had gathered, there was always some hope that they could be saved. The flash of light and the Order aura that permeated afterwards was a clear sign that those in the Negaverse weren't completely lost to salvation, so maybe this kid just needed to learn a good lesson.

"Sure I'm sure. And let me show you!" Tsui moved to the side to dodge the incoming attack, taking full advantage of the speed granted to her by reaching her Eternal status and the minute she found her footing again, she summoned her magic, the white aura that glowed around her indicating that something big was coming his way. "Glorious White Tiger!"

Quote:
Eternal Sailor Attack: Glorious White Tiger.
The energy that SailorTsui’s been collecting not only envelops her fists, but has migrated to her legs as well, and her charge is even more ferocious than ever. She starts her assault with a powerful lunge forward, adding momentum to her strike, followed by her signature Tiger Fist motion, striking downward in an X motion and knocking the enemy back even further if she is able to connect, and she uses the last bit of her energy to leap backwards to add further distance between them. Like her Super attack, she is able to aim at specific limbs and can physically stun the limb, preventing the opponent from using that limb for ten seconds. She puts absolutely everything into the attack, hoping to incapacitate or greatly weaken the enemy as she will be completely drained of power and left vulnerable for ten seconds after the blow.

Megrez remembered that look on Pasiphae's face, that tearful, torn-up expression. It had been on her own face not too long ago, and she was surprised that Pasiphae didn't shake like she did. That sort of made Megrez admire her more, in a way. She wanted to stop or at least say something to that other Eternal (Vespa) who wanted to help Mica (Why would he do that?), but before she could do anything, a certain General she had once egged (Buddingtonite) swooped in. He grabbed Mica, sounded a retreat, and then vanished. When it finally sunk in what had just happened, Megrez gave an enthusiastic fist-pump. "Yessss! We did it! We won! They're going away now!" It didn't occur to her that that would possibly be no consolation for the two Eternals by her.

Pasiphae - Center Fountain

It happened so fast. Vespa reaching out to try and help Mica. Buddingtonite speeding on the scene and snatching the injured General away before sounding a retreat. A victory shout from the one beside her. The Shame Senshi observed it all as though it were happening to someone else, perhaps an indication that she was beginning to go into shock. Yet, she struggled to hold on, if just a little longer.

"They are... but sadly, the battle's not over." Pasiphae hated to squash the other Senshi (Megrez)'s enthusiasm again, but there were still many formidable enemies on the field. To celebrate now might lead to injury, and the last thing she wanted was for anyone else to get hurt. She tried to soften the blow by reaching out to place an encouraging hand on the girl's shoulder. Until she remembered that her hands were stained with blood. She withdrew her touch quickly, her face draining of its remaining color as she stammered, "I'm... I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking."

Garnet eyes sought out Vespa, but she did not bridge the distance between them. She couldn't touch anyone right now. Not when she was still covered in Mica. "Are you alright?"

General Serpentine - Paved Walkways towards Grassy Area (West); Moved to Center Fountain

Grappling against Thraen's strength was difficult enough on a normal day. Now, with his lungs burning from more than just lack of oxygen, Serpentine found himself barely able to keep the Senshi at bay. His punch had landed, but that was not what ultimately seperated him from their twisted battle embrace. No, instead it was one of his allies awakened from the withering magic. Zircon came, wielding her boomerang in a manner clearly meant for close combat. The spray of blood and sudden push, first forawrd and then to the ground, showed the tactic to be effective. Suri had obviously grown much since their first meeting, blooming with her enthusiasm and support of their Chaotic cause.

If he had not been in such pain or been driven forward with such Serpentine might have lamented the loss of the flowers that had wilted on the field. No matter their damned summoner, they were truly beautiful. Yet, when lily-haired Thraen finally released him, he also became aware that the vines that had been previously tethering him were also broken. Grinding his teeth together and ignoring the pain, the General pushed himself to his feet and glanced across the field... just in time to see Buddingtonite shoot him a look and vanish, Mica in his arms.

Too late. He was too late.

All the same, he dragged himself closer to the fountain. His eyes swept over the blood in the water, glared at Vespa whose new aura shone like a star. Wheezing, he forced himself to swallow down pride that was thicker than blood or tar.

He had failed.

Mica was heavily injured. Buddintonite was gone. The retreat had been sounded. He had failed, not just the mission to prevent Vespa from leaving their ranks and to support his fellow officers, but in protecting his partner. It burned as badly as his face, as badly as the flames from the Blackout. Such heat only made his hatred grow, scarring his insides. Oh, how he tired of burning.

The others would have to tend to themselves. The General had to trust they would all obey the order to retreat, for he had understood the look in his friend's eyes perfectly. This battle was lost, but he could still tend to the war... and the one who had taught him much when he first began in it.

'Richard. Nyasa. I'm coming.'

This wasn’t how he wanted it to end, he told himself. Yes, he held little love for Mica. He feared her, he even pitied her at times because she was always truly devoted to the Negaverse and he knew that she had probably wanted what she felt was best for him. She took him under her wings when others were quick to abandon him. She tried to toughen him up, but as hard as he tried, as much as she pushed and prodded him, he could not deny the truth that he was never meant for the Negaverse. He wasn’t meant to be the monster that she had tried to make him out to be. His heart was meant for the White Moon, and apparently, fate had decided such when Iris’ purification attempt had succeeded. He had wanted Mica to leave quietly and with some dignity, and yet… to see her not only impaled with her own spear, but Pasiphae be the one to commit the act…

He knew there was no other way it could end. Mica wouldn’t have allowed him to live, and she would have rather been struck down than to retreat willingly, so this was how it had to be. He only wish that he had the courage to have done the act for himself, instead of relying on someone else to do the act for him. He didn’t hear the cheers from Megrez or from the half-youma that lingered nearby, and he watched, as Buddingtonite grabbed Mica and called for the retreat, before disappearing into the night.

’Good’, he thought, wanting nothing more than to collapse onto the pavement and weep with relief, but holding himself together for a little while longer. He looked to Pasiphae, ignoring the blood on her hands and pressing his hands to her shoulder, hoping to catch her attention and distract her from the thoughts of guilt and horror she must have been feeling right now. If that didn’t work, then maybe his soft voice would. ”Thank you, Pasiphae… I’m sorry you had to do that, but… thank you. You and Kallichore did so much to help me…”

Then, he looked to the others around him, White Moon, knights, even Dark Mirror, all who had either helped him physically or with simple words, and he addressed them all, unable to hide how excited and happy he was. ”Thank you… all of you! I’m sorry you got dragged into this, and I promise I’ll find some way to make it up to you.”

His mind trailed to the ones hurt my Painite’s spear, but there was little time to address the matter. In the distance, the sound of police sirens could be heard, and though Vespa knew that he was on the right side, the side of justice, he knew better than for them to stick around when the police showed up. He squeezed Pasiphae’s shoulders, hoping to pull her into a run and hoping that others would take his advice as well. “We should probably get out of here… they’re going to be PISSED!”

(((Someone has called the police and they are on their way! It would be wise for your character to start making their exit before they are caught and dragged to the station for questioning! The Negaverse has given the order to retreat as well! Take this time to wrap up your fights, get the 450 words you may need for your well earned battle requirement, and write your [EXIT]! Thank you all for playing!)))

A brilliant flash of light, a change in aura from cold darkness to the warmth of life, and a Negaverse general impaled by her own weapon, taken out by a senshi she had terrorized one too many times in the past. It would have been beautiful, it would have been poetic, and yet Sarras paid it all no mind. His mind was set on ferrying the cat on his shoulders to safety, as well as assisting the Chibi senshi with the youma that attacked her. He didn’t wish to put the little feline in danger, but he couldn’t allow anything to happen to children, right? What kind of monster would allow that? He was an a*****e, but not a monster…

With one hand cupping Thetis on his shoulder, he ran forward, watching as Horatio fired a blast at the youma, weakening it and leaving its back exposed to Sarras’ strike. With his other hand, he took the cup he carried and smashed it against the youma’s exposed back, hitting the base of the neck and causing it to collapse on the ground with a guttural groan. Which meant the damn thing was still alive, and Sarras rose his foot to stomp the creature into submission. ”You’re gonna wish you had died the first time, vermin!”

And yet, his foot never came down, at least not on the youma. A familiar shout caught his ears, and he turned so fast that he almost threatened to throw the small cat off his shoulders. Was that Buddingtonite? Before his mind could even register an answer, he called for the retreat and vanished, and Sarras couldn’t stop the scream from escaping his throat, threatening to drown out the sirens that approached the park. ”NO, he got away! Dammit!”

Canopus wished she had witnessed everything that had gone on recently, but she suffered from severe tunnel vision. All she could see was Emily, clutching her bag as though it were her baby to protect, and she only thought of getting her to safety. She knew that something big had happened, and the sirens that were going off in the distance confirmed that it was time to leave, but she moved slow and steady for Emily’s sake.

”Don’t worry, I won’t do anything to you or your bag.” She said in a soft voice, and while it would have been quicker to grab her and pull her along, she knew better than to touch her or bring her hand close to the item she shielded with her own body. She motioned her to follow her towards the woods, knowing of a way for Emily to get out without being spotted by the combatants, or the police, as they would have tried to confiscate her precious cargo. ”Just keep up with me, okay? I’ll do my best to keep you safe… you just have to trust me. Can you do that?”

Everything was crazy!

Ash crouched under her bush and stared wide-eyed at the fighting going on around her. As much as she wanted to help, there was just... so. much. going. on... and so few people she knew. Way more people of the kind who liked to stuff her in bags and try to crush her little kitty body. Then, to top it off... youma?

The burmilla squeaked as she huddled closer to the trunk of her bush, her back arching in instinctive need to protect herself by appearing larger. She hated youma... stupid things always seemed to see her as a wonderful snack, which just about decided her on whether or not she was going to throw herself into the fray.

Ash was not a fighter... her skills lay more in the technology department, in communication and clever ideas. Not in her claws or her hunting prowess, of which she had next to none. Instincts only got you so far in that respect and it was much easier to beg for food from a lovely human than try to kill it yourself.

The sudden flare of energy nearby made the guardian's eyes flare wide and she froze, feeling the way it surged and shone. Was that what a princess felt like? It was frankly amazing and a deep part of her wanted to put herself as close to it as possible... she even took a step forward before battle around her surged again and Ash shrank back into hiding.

Shouting, struggling, the smell of blood... all of it held the cat back despite her desire to help the faction and some small part of her was ashamed. But, soon enough the call for retreat was going out and the guardian took the opportunity with relief. Breaking from hiding, the silver cat streaked across the park and disappeared back into the city where it was marginally safer for a small cat.

In trying to round up more opposition against the generals, a flying body managed to wholesale thwart his efforts as he felt the weight of one corrupt senshi practically crush his entire upper body. Faust yowled beneath her weight, hind legs twitching for the need to squirt out from beneath her, as he knew of his close proximity to another Chaos-aligned senshi of a different sort. Only when the weight above him shifted could he manage to wrench himself free of the pile, and Faust hobbled his way out from the fountain centerpiece in search of some assistance.

Luckily for the feline, it looked like the Negaverse might be shifting into a retreat. Sirens wailed faintly, initially only audible to feline ears, but soon grew to attract the attention of the agents therein.

"Damn right, you better git'cho asses outta this dump," Faust hissed toward the wind, ears laid flat against his skull. And as another agent rushed past him, the guardian searched about for someone he might be able to escape with, given the state of his regrettably injured upper half. He recognized Thraen from the remaining souls almost immediately, though he looked to be engaged with a Negaverse captain currently...

Not that it ever stopped Faust.

Scrambling in, Faust faltered in his leap and accidentally headbutted Thraen in the chest, adding to the mounting pain in his upper body. The Mauvian growled lowly before brushing off the attempt as never having happened, and instead skittered around to Thraen's back to climb up with the addition of claws. He managed so marginally better, perching atop Thraen's shoulder in a low stance. With his gaze focused on Zircon, the Mauvian growled lowly as the star on his forehead flickered to life in an unearthly glow.

Buddingtonite's teleportation neutered what little range Bischofite still managed, and the creature growled in low tones toward the frustrating turn of events. The senshi who managed to strike at Mica offered little more than a paint-peeling glance in his direction, and the remainder of their forces mobilized more toward a retreat on both sides than any manner of pursuing the fallen party. The senshi bonded toward their own, the Negaverse saw to their allies in retreat, and in that moment Alois knew that he harbored no allies on either side.

Sirens sounded in the distance. Police. Guns.

Any number of them may cower at the harrowing sight of a youma - or half-youma.

A snarl creased his face shortly before he started toward the edge of the woods, where little more than flecks of starlight penetrated their thickened brush. In lacking the energy to teleport, it looked a far more appealing compromise to conceal his visage from prying human eyes - those absent the ability to seek auric energies spreading like a miasma over the earth.

Perhaps it was foolish of me to embark on such a heated stand against the Negaverse on this night. i wonder how many hours, days I stripped from my own meager scraps of freedom in attacking my own kind. And what will come of me when the hourglass manifests a dearth of sand? Death? Crystallization? I know no timer or end result.

Only that I cannot stay here. I cannot stay still.
