He jumped at the sound of the minipet's voice, squeezing the handle of the pliers reflexively. The others were bustling around so much that he didn't quite know who to follow anymore, so he had taken root in the middle of the hallway, a lack of action he now regretted. He didn't want to talk to the fracs. The fracs was frightening.
"I... I guess? Do you mean searching rooms?" There were presumably a number of rooms upstairs that hadn't been searched. "I could do that." He could also open the wrong door and get a spike through his forehead.

endejester moved to read the second clip board. The second clip board had the exact same instructions on it, down to the letter. The only difference was, this one was printed on pink paper, for some reason.

"Oh, sure, you could do that if you wanted." The Fracs said, trotting forward to lean against Brenley's leg, winding around his feet like a cat. "But I have an offer for you~" It purred out, looking up at the Reaper with its head against his shin. "If you'll hear me out~"

"Ja, am Mathias, and du ist Aurel?" He inquired, eyes flicking up to meet his. "Vould might be best to be vaiting, can ask group vut thinking about boarded up door and---" He paused, head swivelling at the sound of a door clicking shut. Frowning, he glanced over to where the sound had come from, before Aurel's words distracted him from his thoughts. "Upstairs?" He looked towards the stairway with a blink. "Sure. Vould not mind staying in company. Nobody vants being alone feeling, am sure." He sighed, reaching up to scratch at one of his side burns with a long black claw. "Lead vay, vill follow." For now. He thought to himself.

Just to be sure, he checked the Third Clip Board as well
Before he'd then try and open one of the cupboards. He suspected, if he was going to try and do anything really foolish like operate the machinery, he'd need one of those hazmat suits.
The parts were… terrifying to say the least, not to mention the knives.
To what end could they possibly be churning out fear to the outside world?

endejester Third Clip Board as well+ open one of the cupboards The third clip board said the same thing; but this one had a tea stain on it, like someone had set down a leaky cup.
The cabinet opened to a strange looking metal machine; it had a light on the top, a lever on the side, and a wide latch that was currently closed. It looked like the machine described in the instruction manual.

He took a breath and let it out, there was only one thing left to do… He moved towards the Hazmat suits and examined them to make sure they weren't damaged, before putting one on. If this had a good effect, maybe he could help the others, if it had a bad one, well, than hopefully no one else but he would be hurt, no matter how bored that made the Fracks and…whatever else was in here. The memory of the four chairs still haunted him.

An offer? He managed to keep himself from wincing as the creature slid closer and twined around his legs. This place had been full of nothing but false hope so far, and even though Bren had no reason to think anything the Fracs said now would be any different, he was still curious.
"I'll listen. I'm not promising anything though."

endejester examined them to make sure they weren't damaged, before putting one on. Pachua is now wearing a hazmat suit! It's a little uncomfortable and smells kind of funky, but otherwise, it seems to be in working order.

There was a terrible urge to flick his tongue out because there was so much of smell that mingled with taste for him as a snake oriented monster, but the 'funky' nature of it had him clamping down hard on that particular instinct. He moved back to the first machine, and started to follow the instructionsPosted on the clip board.

"You always were the smart one!" The Fracs keened, trotting a pace or two away from Brenley so it could sit and look up at him properly.
"If you kill one of the others here with you - any one, it doesn't matter who - I will give you an exit key. You can get out of here without going through any of this. No searching, no trying to form alliances...just one death, and you go free. I'll even unlock the Lobby for you. But only you." At this, its ears lowered, but it was quick to perk up again. "That's my offer. You make this interesting for me, and I'll make it worth while for you."

The OOC Following the instruction manual:If you choose to follow the instructions given, please refer to the mechanics below: Each step needs to be cleared in order for success. You will need to pass each step in order to move on to the next. You may roll as many times as you need to succeed, and you do not have to go back to the beginning if you fail a step. Example: I am on Step One. I roll a 1d6 and get a 2. I start the machine and let it prep (Step 2 does not need a roll). I am now on Step Three. I roll a 1d6 and get a 1. I can reroll 1d6 and try step 3 again, until I pass. Match your results to the post below: Step One: Rolling a 2 or higher is a pass. If you roll a 1, you will need to reroll the whole thing. Step Two: Doesn't need a roll. Any result is a pass. There is a clock on the wall. You can't fail this one. Step Three: Rolling a 4 or higher is a pass. Rolling a 1-3 means there is too little FEAR in your material to be viable, and it simply falls apart. Step Four: Rolling a 3 or a 4 to pass. 1-2 means your material was too small. 5-6 means it was too large. Step Five: Rolling a 4 or higher is a pass. It's a sequence of buttons after all, and the instructions are vague at best. When you pass all five steps, roll a 1d100 and quote The Escaped! You may try this as many times as you like, but keep in mind that there is a lot of other things to do in the mean time! No matter how many times you try the FEAR disposal machine, you may only roll the 1d100 once.

He started trying to prep the machine, part of him knew this was a -terrible- idea but the chance that it might do a good thing, no matter how slim seemed like it might be worth the risk.
He managed to prep the machine with no issues at all, it was… alarmingly easy when you came down to it.

He waited now, watching the clock tick by on the wall, watching for the fifteen minutes, just to be safe, just to make sure that he didn't feel like he should succumb to the urge to run from the room with his tail between his legs. He had this awful feeling in his stomach for locking the door, but he kept telling himself it was for the best.

The next step was… harder he started with smallish pieces, anxiously pushing them into place with profuse apologizes to whomever they had been before. That was very nearly enough to make him stop, but they were already gone…right? There couldn't be any coming back from being tiny bits and pieces was there?
