What does it matter if I die sooner?" he asked as he was knocked back by her shock-wave, but still remained on his feet. Looking over at Shira, Atticus smiled, "Sorry, but I may have to resort to something reckless." he told her. As said that, Shira would remember the time when Atticus transformed in the battle with Herald, although he was dead at the time. Maybe he had managed to control that new ability, but why wait so long to use it. Closing his eyes, Atticus wavelength vanished, "Fall into darkness and let the madness consume." he muttered as his soul wavelength then skyrocketed, completely surpassing Mirai's and even seemed to surpass that of the late Divine. Black fur began to cover his limbs, as his skin became pale and large black, bat-like wings and a long tail would emerge as well. This was the form of the Demon King. The moment he transformed, all of his injuries seemed to have healed and Atticus would vanish. Appearing right behind Mirai, his tail aiming to wrap itself around her neck, while Atticus used his newly healed right arm and unleash a small black sphere of demonic energy at her.

Mirai said nothing in reply. Though she wanted to. Shira blinked before shouting "Atticus! Don't do that!" but he already had. A demon stood in his place. Mirai blinked in surprise as he disappeared and ended up wrapping his tail around her neck. She grimaced as she was still recharging her teleportation attack. She was blasted forward from the demonic energy and skidded on the ground. She grimaced as her back felt like it was on fire. She managed to stand up then, her wavelength suddenly jumping upward and continuing to climb. Her hair became spikier looking in the back and her eyes had a demonic look in them as her wavelength continued climbing upward. She created a huge orb in her hand before unleashing a huge blast of energy towards Atticus.

As she managed to rebound and land on the ground, Atticus had already made his next move, by using his incredible speed, to teleport right in front of her. Around that time, Mirai had just unleashed the huge blast of energy, which hit Atticus head on. Getting hit by the energy, Atticus was knocked up into the air, but by using his wings, he managed to balance himself off. He now had scorch marks on his body yet again, due to her energy. Atticus looked over at Shira and smiled, showing that he had control over the form, but still, his body was deteriorating at a faster pace, if this battle went on any longer, Atticus' life span would be shortened greatly. He could possibly fade away in the next year or so. Landing on the ground, Atticus held up his hand and created a javelin composed of black fire. He then threw the javelin at Mirai, with devastating speed, the force behind the javelin was so great, that it would be able to destroy a town in an instant. Should Mirai attempt to block it, there was no way she would manage to escape unharmed, her best chance would be to avoid it altogether, but should she do that, she would put not only Texas in danger but Shira as well, because of the large explosive radius of the javelin. "Mirai, make your choice, save yourself or save the innocent." Atticus told her in a demonic voice.

Seeing this, Atticus didn't appear convinced, he knew that she was stronger than that, after her training, a blast of that magnitude, while injuring her, would not end her life, he knew that. So, if he really knew that, then why would he release and why put both Texas and Shira in harm's way. The answers to this question, was revealed as Mirai appear from within the world, having undergone an transformation of sorts. Her power had increased and was nearly as powerful as Atticus, but Atticus still had the upper hand. Seeing this newly transformed Mirai, Atticus would smile, "About time." he stated as he became more and more excited. Was this the reason? Did he want to push her to new heights and set her free of his controlling nature? Or did he do this just for the pure joy of fighting an opponent whose strength was near his own? As Mirai unleashed her large beam at him, Atticus would hold out his right hand and release a black beam of the same power, this would cause both to collide and erupt into a massive explosion. The moment this happened, Atticus' heart would stop beating for a second. Grabbing his chest, he began coughing up blood, suddenly, his powers began to decrease as his wings suddenly faded. Atticus was beginning to suffer the consequences of using this power in such a weakened state. Landing on his knees, Atticus looked over at Mirai, "Not yet." he muttered as he continued to cough. Standing up, Atticus smiled, "Mirai, come at me with all you've got." he commanded as his transformation slowly started to fade, "Show me the power that will eventually change the world." As he said this, all of the wounds from before, reappear on his body, the many burns, the bruises and his right arm became broken once more. This was also another effect of using that power. From the very beginning, Atticus had intended all of this to happen, he planned on taking so much damage, he planned on pushing Mirai to her limits, but for what reason? Did he truly wish to die by his sister's hand?

Mirai frowned for a moment before holding out her hand up in the air. Her Soul Mold ability appeared much stronger now. A large gear appeared in the air and began spinning rapidly. A orb appeared in the center and began growing, lighting up the realm almost like it was a sun. The flowers began to ring even louder before Mirai dropped her hand. The gear dispersed and the orb of light was released, gaining speed and eventually turned into what looked like a falling star. Once it would make contact with anything, a huge explosion would come from it, it seemed almost larger than the explosion Atticus sent at her. Telekinetic barrier appeared around Texas and Shira as the explosion went off. Shira watched with wide eyes, speechless at the moment. Did this mean he was going to die "Atticus!" she managed to shout as loud as she could thought it was most likely muffled due to the explosion.

Engulfing his entire body in a burning inferno of flames and ash. Atticus' wavelength would all but vanish as a small black figure would be seen appearing in the center of the hellish inferno. The black figure then grew larger and more defined, revealing itself to be a large black mass of fire. The fire would seemingly absorb the explosion and then simply erased it from existence. The black flames gave off an deep, cold aura, having the air in the entire territory become akin to that of the coldest terrain. Emerging from the black flames, would be the demonic form of Atticus, but just briefly, as he reverted back to his normal self and collapsed on the ground, bleeding and near death. In the end, Atticus had used the last bit of stamina he had left to transform and absorb Mirai's attack, showing that if he had been at fool strength, this battle would still be going on, sadly that was not the case. Laying in a pool of his own blood, Atticus could not move, as the mark on his chest had been continually sapping his power.

Mirai watched as Atticus took the attack. Once she saw him on the ground, the barriers went down and Shira came running, skidding to Atticus' side with a worried expression. "Hey! Hold on alright?" she managed to ask. Mirai stood there quietly before walking over to them. She knelt down then on the other side of Atticus and put her hand on his chest. Bright gold energy appeared around her hand as she healed him, saying nothing as she did so. At the same time, the realm began regenerating, any flowers that were burnt away grew back rather quickly. She stared down at the mark, frowning slightly as she observed it.

As soon as he returned from his trip, he had already been injured to such an extent. Atticus was reckless, that was one thing that never changed about it. As Mirai came over and began healing him, Atticus would wait until his arm had been, somewhat repaired, before sitting up and moving Mirai's hand away from. "That's enough." he told her. Despite all of this, he still had his pride to consider and whether he planned on being defeated or not, he still lost, so he refused to be pitied or helped, even if it is Mirai. Staggering to his feet, Atticus held his arm around his chest, clearly he still needed medical attention. "Shira, our business here is done. I have no right to be here with her or interfere with her life ever again." he stated, not looking over at Mirai. "Let us leave and never return."

Shira moved next to Atticus in case he needed to lean against her "R-Right..." she said. Mirai stared at Atticus quietly, standing up as well. She noticed her wasn't looking at her and glanced away quietly. Shira looked at Mirai and Texas for a moment or two before looking at Atticus "Alright." she said. Mirai waved her hand and a portal appeared near them. Luen, who had been hiding the whole time during the fight, popped up and wrapped around Shira's wrist.

She would be able to see the many injuries that had sustained and the amount of blood he lost. As the two walked towards the portal, it would be Atticus that would stop. "I wish you a happy life with Texas. I promise to never come again. I won't be hindrance or a source or resentment to you anymore." he would tell Mirai before looking back at her and smiling, "You'll be free to do whatever you want, without me looking down on you or forcing my own ideals on you. As of now, you are free of your duty to your family and to the world. Live your life however you want. I will not disrupt your peace ever again." With those words, it was clear what this entire fight was about, well for Atticus, but it was up to Mirai to uncover it on her own. "This is goodbye, little sister."

Shira smiled slightly towards Atticus as he spoke to Mirai, who looked up at her brother. She stared at him for a moment before smiling warmly at him "Thank you, big brother." she said in return.

Shira gave a sad smile to Atticus before leaving with him ((Shira- Exit))
Mirai stood there and watched as the portal closed behind them before looking at the ground. That would probably be the last time she would ever see Atticus.

Some men just want to see the world burn... Texas folded his arms and watched the battle to its conclusion, saying nothing the entire time. Once Atticus left the battle field he looked over at Mirai, not seeming that surprised that she had turned into a demonic form. "That takes care of that," he told her simply as he walked over, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Good job Mirai. That guy had it coming." He gave her a smile before lowering his arm. And I just want to show them.
