 Adrian sighed and exited the cave. He then began running down the side of the river, following Diana and Stella with his eyes. He would jump in if he had to, but at the moment he felt he didn't need to. He knew where the river ended up and so if he could get there first, he could catch Diana and his jacket.

 Diana breathed, seeing Stella swimming after her through the current, and Adrian running down the side. Her head bobbled up and down under the waves as she tried to grip a rock. Her grip slipped as she grabbed another managing to keep her grip. She began to climb up it, panting and huffing as she saw Adrian on the other side and hoping Stella would get swept down stream. 'Don't pass out... don't pass out...' She told herself, shaking from the freezing cold water as she grunted and used the rocks to climb out of the water. She began to cough, panting heavily as she shook, looking as if she was going to try standing up again.

_______________ ★ _______________  Stella eventually reached Diana, and clung onto the rock she was on. "Do you still have the jacket?" She asked, yelling over the current. If she did, that was great. If she didn't, it was either underwater or on its way to the end of the river. Worst case scenario, it was stuck on a rock and would need its own rescue mission. Stella hoped it wouldn't have to come to that as she pulled herself out of the water and towards Diana, seeing that she was still frail. The rock was large enough for both of them, but just barely. ▸ Location: in the river

"Yes... I have it..." She huffed to Stella, looking over the river and seeing Adrian. "And your friend... doesn't look too happy." She stated, letting out a few more coughs. "At least... at least this will stall him from killing both of us... a- a- assuming... you don't... you don't kill... me first..." She breathed, looking across the river at Adrian.

Adrian stood at the side of the river, seething with anger at both Diana and Stella. He was trying to figure out a way to get across. If he hopped the rocks, they could just push him off and he'd be washed downstream. He had to find a way to get his jacket back as well as get his first victim. The assassin leader no longer trusted Stella. Unless she could convince him that her actions were not treason, she would have to go, along with their prey.

"Y-you know..." She yelled to Adrian across the river. "Y-you... You seem like... like a pretty cool guy... if- if you weren't trying... to k-kill me!" She stated, obviously her fever talking rather then her. "Y-y-you got... nice eyes!"

_______________ ★ _______________ Stella followed the other girl's gaze and saw Adrian at the end of the river. He looked furious, but she was surprisingly unafraid. This wasn't the first time she had been subject to his wrath, but she had also never been suspected of treason before this. She chose not to say anything in response to Diana, focusing on saving her breath instead. The girl still seemed to have a very high fever despite the freezing cold river water, and was acting like a drunk because of it. Stella rolled her eyes and began to plan an escape route as Diana flirted. For all her intelligence, she had a weird taste.▸ Location: in the river

Diana swore under her breath. "... I don't think... that worked... he still looks angry." She huffed to Stella in a soft voice so Adrian couldn't hear. She slowly turned her face to look at Stella. "Know of... any place to get... warmed up... before... you get sick too?"

_______________ ★ _______________ Stella turned towards Adrian for a moment, then back to Diana. She began to think. The Assassin leader looked fully prepared to kill them if or when they were caught, there was no doubt about that. Returning the damn jacket might be enough of a stalling tactic, but he also was not the Assassin leader for no reason. After a short hesitation, Stella replied in an equally soft tone, "The jacket. It'll reach him eventually. Then we can go."
It was a huge risk giving back the jacket that had weapons in it, but Stella had weapons too. Hers probably weren't as advanced, but she knew how to use them.▸ Location: in the river

"... Then I know what to do..." She huffed, slowly forcing herself up and walking over to the river before crawling onto the rocks. She let out a few huffs before taking off the jacket and watching her own daggers, rope, and clothes fall onto the rock. She put the jacket aside as she quickly put on her own wet clothes. Then she shook his jacket, feeling the weight of his weapons as she held it out over the raging water. She picked up one of the daggers as she continued to hold the jacket out, as if threatening to drop it into the river.

Adrian stood for a moment, wondering what Diana was trying to do. He eventually snatched the jacket, but didn't put it on. It was soaked from the river, though he did check it to make sure all the weapons he had prepared were still in the pockets. "You expecting to get into my good graces by returning my jacket?" he asked with a sharp, bitter tongue.

"Your good graces?" She laughed before looking down at him with sharp cold eyes. "No. Mercy is a privilege reserved for the strong. So I decided to be cruel to you by showing mercy. After all, wounded pride is more painful then any wound I could inflict. And even if you kill me, you will never forget it. It will never go away." She told him before closing her eyes and letting out a sigh before looking at him again with a calm face, vacant of emotion. "...You still do have really nice eyes... I wish we could have met under... different circumstances." She muttered before gathering her things and crawling to the opposite end of the bank where Stella was.

_______________ ★ _______________ Stella watched Adrian and Diana as they talked, even though she was unable to hear what they were saying over the sound of the rushing water. She was trying to map out an escape route, trying to remember whether there were any shortcuts she could take. When Diana came back, she finally had one figured out. She said nothing to her, just quickly moved her eyes in the direction they would be taking. Then she pulled herself up onto the river bank and crouched next to the other girl, preparing to run. ▸ Location: in the river

"Let's go. Fast." She told Stella as if wafting for her to lead the way. After all, she didn't know her way around like Stella did, and Stella looked anxious to get out of there. Diana didn't blame her after everything that had happened, though she felt that she couldn't trust her completely. She was part of the group that was trying to kill her after all.

Adrian hopped over the rocks in the river. It wasn't the first time he had come to this part of the forest. Much of his prey thought they could escape by going down the river, but unfortunately for them, that was not the case. The assassin leader also began reaching in his pocket for more knives. He didn't put his jacket on, but Adrian was carrying it with him. The water made it a little heavier though.
