Apparently they went even further back as they have now arrived BACK, at the beginning with the HERE sign. A loud scream of frustration escaped them as they kicked the sign, only to bruise their foot instead. The sign remains unharmed.

sweetm00n was getting the hang of handling how things worked in this world (mysterious creatures below the floor watching you notwithstanding). she took the 'you are here' sign in calmly, and looked in the direction it was pointing. Right. Another quest, another level, another day another dollar. Give me a hollar. Or something like that. She never payed too much attention to those raps music things. Patting the back of her dress primly, she set off down the path, following the sign.

Shadow approached sign with caution, a bit afraid this one was going to make him talk to trees too.

Okay. After that quest, Ace was more than in the mood to be wandering quiet paths led by confusing signs again. She approached the 'Here' sign and even waved to it as if it were an old friend, before setting off to where she knew the 'There' sign was waiting.
