Sum noticed this trainee was a respectful one, which was good for Hannah and the whole system itself. That kind of respect was not Sum cup of tea. "You do not have to call me sir Leon, but it is your choice." Sum said with a smile on his face, before he started getting into the meat of reason Leon is actually here. "What branch do you want to enter? and why?That will determine everything for the rest of your life. Dying is easier to come by in one more then the other. so choose wisely." Sum said but not because he wanted to know which one this boy choose, but the reason. Some do this for the praise of being here to defend everyone from the Titans but choose the Royal Guard. It is a shame, but a lot of young kids who have no homes do so they could stay safe for the rest of their lives. Sum was not like that. His father was not like that, and taught him that people can change the world if they believed it can change.
Listening to Hannah, she was already trying to put fear into his heart. It gave Sum a little trip of nostalgia. She has, and will always be the same with the new recruits. "Hannah, you will never change will you?" Sum said in a kind toned voice, that was different from Hannah. A good kind of different, Sorta of like a good cop, bad cop situation unfolding in front of this new member.

Leon answered the drill instructor before he directed his attention to the other person talking to him "Sir, I want to be in the scouting legion. My reason is to kill the titans no matter the cost, Sir. My family was killed by those gluttons and I want to pay them back for it." There was a fire in his eyes and it was burning strongly.

Hannah closes her eyes in aggravation of the soldier. (OOC: I'm too tired to be Hannah right now so you two train and spar and tomorrow if Poki-senpai gets up before me he'll administer the test ok? Trainees can not take any of the tests without a crew member, Vice, or Captain around ok?)
"Well your probability of death went up 100% with that selection, but easily the best choice." Sum said toward Leon with a smile on his face, as he started to speak again. "Let me test your might, and ability to fight before you actually take the test. So when you are ready come at me." Taking off the jacket that most members of his legion wore around. For hand-to-hand combat it was sort of annoying to fight with on his back. In the same motion he took off that piece of clothing, Sum got into a fighting stance. It was different from the normal fighting style that most trainee see, but it would help him fight in the long run. The fighting stance had one leg back, while the other was forward. But the odd part about it was the arms, and where they were positioned. One was behind his back, while the other was in front of him ready to defend and block what ever came toward him.

"Ich bin der jäeger, due bist der eßen." "Bring it on." Leon said as he got into a low stance with his left leg out in front of him and his right leg bent and his arms set up to strike him with his left arm along his left leg and his right arm above his head before he launched himself at the soldier and tried to hit him with two fluid moves, striking with his left arm first followed by his right. He had been fighting for years on the streets, kicking the asses of the people who picked on those weaker than they are.

Sum was watching Leon as he started to rush toward him, but it was very simple. Straight forward run, to an attack that seemed like it would be a straight forward attack. Nothing special about it. Hopefully he would change what he was doing as he attack.
Seeing the attack be as simplistic as the run, Sum was disappointed in the whole action and he was not going to show him mercy. The first punch was his left, which was easy to dodge. Slipping down almost to the point of sitting on top of his knee. This maneuver allowed him to dodge the left, and the second attack from Leon's right fist. Flying past his now lowered head, Sum started his own attack toward Leon's body. It was slightly different then his opponent's attack, and other people as well. Swiftly moving his right leg toward Leon's legs starting with his left leg. The target was right below the man's knee, near the end of the shin. The maneuver was suppose to trip him so that Sum can have the advantage when his next attack was headed toward his opponents body.

"Ich bin der jäeger, due bist der eßen." Leon took a step back as soon as he seen Sum's foot move an leaned forward bringing both arms back around like a whip and down on his head... That is if he didn't see it coming. of course, it was meant to be a distraction since the move was so unexpected and almost eratic "You think that a two hit attack was all I had to offer?" Leon asked "Think again. I have more to offer than that!" he added as he brought his left knee up and then kicked at Sum's chest.

Sum saw everything unfold, where his attack did not land on his target but that was kind of what he though was going to happen. Most people could easily dodge that attack, but Sum had a plan for this. Putting his hands on the ground, he pushed himself up toward his opponent before anything other then the step back occurred. Both his feet were launched toward Leon's chest. Sum's hands were off the ground, which allowed him to the ability to block his opponent if he was going to attack him while in the air. Though it was a simple attack, it was something that was done so fast it could not easily be dodged by someone who does not have good agility. Sum was a good fighter in his own right, even though he was not that strong. His intelligence combined with his speed and agility can defeat most opponents.

"Ich bin der jäeger, due bist der eßen." "Crap." Leon muttered as he stumbled backwards from the kick. It happened too fast for him to block or dodge since he was in the middle of his own attack. "That didn't go as planned, but I'm far from finished here." he said as he launched a more deceptive attack by aiming a punch with his left arn for the right side of the man's head and missing on purpose before he brought his elbow to the side of Sum's head. He was using a fraction of his strength since it wasn't a life or death fight or against his sworn enemy the titans.

Sum watched as his attacked made contact with his opponents chest, and sending him stumbling back a foot or two. Though he looked strong and a good opponent, he it doing simplistic maneuvers trying to attack Sum with out thinking through. At least that is what Sum is seeing while fighting this man.
Getting back to his feet was a surprise to Sum, since he though this man was going to try and attack him when he was in a position that could have easily got a hit on him. That was a mistake that Leon would see as the reason he lost this fight. In reality Sum could beat him even if he made contact with him, while he was in mid-air, but it is better chance of him winning if he did that.Something that Sum will tell him after he is done fighting this man. Using ever advantage you could have to defeat an enemy is the only way to survive this world. Titans are not as forgiving as the human beings are. Watching the attack coming toward him, Sum already though of an idea to stop Leon in his tracks. If it was a straight punch I have him. Sum though to himself as he saw that it was what he was hoping for. A simple punch toward his head. Without thinking it was really not heading toward his head, Sum dodged it. Sliding over to the left side about six inches. Clearly dodging the already missing punch.
As he was sliding away from the on coming attack, Sum lifted both his right and left hand. His right hand swiftly moved its way above the forearm, of Leon, while his left hand was maneuvering below his opponent's attacking arm's bicep. In a swift motion, Sum started to push his right hand down and his left hand up. The whole action was fast, and very hard to dodge at such close range. But Sum would stop, if the maneuver worked before Leon would break his arm. That would not end well for either of them. Leon for having a broken arm and Sum for breaking his arm. A double edge sword right there.

Leon muttered through clenched teeth as he held his left arm in pain from the attack, but that pain fueled his rage and he started throwing kicks since his strong arm was hurting him so badly. While his right arm was fine, he needed the balance for the kicks. He had no intention of giving up without proving his abilities. He had too much he wanted to do and most of it involved a sword. He was a Jäeger! His place was out fighting the threat and not being beaten before he could kill at least one titan! His kicks were random, hopelessly unballanced, and completely fueled by anger. He would be lucky if any of the kicks hit their mark since he was so use to fighting untrained thugs he was in way over his head with a trained soldier, but that never stopped him from putting his all into a fight.

Shun stepped onto the training grounds. He was now a trainee, a fresh recruit, new blood, or however else they wanted to call him. More importantly, he was starting over. He flexed his fingers and made sure his lengthy hair was pulled back. He didn't want to waste time or get scolded for standing around plus, he enjoyed combat. He reveled in it, lived for it, for the kill. He shook his head, it would be best not to get carried away in such thoughts. The air was dusty and the slight breeze and shuffling of feet only kicked it up. He rubbed the back of his neck and picked up one of the wooden training knives before moving to the center of the crowd. His violet eyes flicked around a bit before he found a guy who was available to spar with. After a brief introduction, he and the other guy began practicing. The guy he was with was more of boxer which was fine by him. He himself was more of a martial artist of sorts. It made for an odd yet interesting spar.
After a while of warming up. He thanked the guy and walked off to go look for a trainer person or something like that. he wiped some sweat off his brow and approached the nearest drill sergeant. "Sir!" he quickly gave a salute still not sure how the whole thing worked, "I would like to begin my hand-to-hand combat test." Then he just stood still and waited.

"Strength? Ha! By the time you realize I'm there, I will already have a blade to your throat."
Unfortunately for the new trainee, he had approached the infamous Hannah Stow. The meanest drill instructor in the entire military, especially to men. Hannah turns around to see Shun and glares at him. "So you think you're ready for the combat test eh? Pft! A maggot like you would get his butt whipped even if I was going incredibly easy on you! Tch!" she growls. This lioness circles Shun with her hands resting behind her back inspecting him head to toe. "ARE YOU READY FOR THE ARMY MAGGOT?!" she barks loudly as she stops in front of him to face him. "BECOMING A SOLDIER IS HARD WORK! ARE YOU WILLING TO EMBRACE THE PAIN YOU WILL FACE AND THE HORRORS YOU'LL FACE OR ARE YOU GOING TO COWER AWAY LIKE THE PIECE OF SH*T YOU ARE?!!!" she barks once more. Many hate Hannah for being so rough with the trainees yet in her opinion it's only improving them. The real world is not a place full of comfort. It's full of horrors and depressing things. Things that will hurt you and strive yo make you cry. Why make their training easy for them and prep them for what could be? Why not train them for the real world and prep them for what will be?" is what she always says.
Shun blinked when the woman straight up started shouting insults his way. He wasn't that surprised though, that was how the military worked right? He held his position keeping his expression neutral as she looked him over. Then she stopped directly in front of his face and he kept staring blankly in front of him, "I revel in pain ma'am!" he replied firmly, and live for the kill, he thought quietly to himself. He felt he was ready, after all he's done and after all the terror he himself caused, this is what be believed. His expression was dark as though he were thinking about other things. Born in the city's underbelly and molded by human corruption, he was edgy and unstable. He knew how this world worked and he hated and loved it at the same time. He remained still, "I'm ready ma'am!"
