Alexandria Elaine Ferdinand Doctor || Knight || Exwire Alexandria raised her left elbow on to the wooden table top, propping her arm up and resting her chin on her left wrist. Olive colored eyes observed her companion, he was rather pensive today. Seeming to be at a loss of words to why a man would change his hair color- or perhaps he hadn’t recognized Lloyd because it was such a drastic change to his appearance. Victor’s blue eyes wandered towards the other, more colorful student and the small white cat that sat on the table before him. His face was intent, as if analyzing something special about the two. Her question seemed to break him from the obsessive trace as he turned back towards her, nodding his fair-haired head.
Her companion motioned a nearby server to come towards their table, the man quickly dropped the wash cloth he had been using on the table and pulled out a pen and notepad to take their orders. Once Victor had ordered, Alexandria told the waiter she would like Red Curry. The waiter nodded his head at the orders and left towards the kitchens. Alexandria once more returned her olive gaze to her companion; he had clasped his hands together in front of his face, obscuring it from view. She let her arm fall to the table before her. Something was very clearly bothering him. Speaking little, and generally distracted and obsessed about little small details. ‘Perhaps because of the Qualification exam that is coming up. We have to decide if we will be working together for that or not. However, if we don’t it wouldn’t be unlikely we’d face each other as advisories in the exams. It’s hard to know what sort of trials we will face.’ She thought to herself. He seemed to break from his thought, a small smile crossing his lips. His gaze left her and outwards towards the massive windows of the great hall.
Alexandria propped her arm up once more, resting her cheek into her left palm. Her olive eyes studying her companion. “You are unusually pensive today. Are you worried about the Qualification exam or is something else bothering you…?” Alexandria asked looking for his gaze. “It isn’t something we have to do together.. The qualification exam seems to benefit individuals who can make it through its trials.” She said softly, her gaze leaving her companion as a waiter held a massive brown tray over his head with one hand, another holding a folding tray holder to place it on. The man stretching out the tray holder before lowering the tray on top.
The server placed their dishes before them, sushi and teppanyaki for Victor and a bowl of red curry for her. After picking up his things the man walked away, back towards the kitchen. Alexandria’s olive gaze didn’t meet her companions instead looking down at her food. Rice covered in a spicy liquid drowned in thin slices of beef and cooked vegetables. An empty expression crossing her face, perhaps as if the food looked unsatisfactory. Instead she had been contemplating other things; perhaps it was something about their relationship that bothered the fair haired lad. They had been practically everything but romantically involved for months, even spending a good portion of their vacation together. Seemed like many of their classmates considered them in some sort of relationship- they had good reason to. Rumors still went around as if to confirm suspicions, but it wasn’t something they ever spoke of. ‘Perhaps that is what bothers him.’ Alexandria pondered, looking back up to Victor, a small smile crossing her lips. ‘Would he even tell me if that is true..?’ She wondered looking down once more to the bowl of curry before her.

Fighter || Aria || Exorcist || Exwire Alexandria was quite perceptive when it came to Victor. It surprised him that she knew something had him uncomfortable or worried but then again, he didn't seem like his easy going self. She wasn't too far off target when she asked him about the Qualification Exam but that was just on the surface of it all. His eyes met with hers for a moment before the waiter had returned with their food. She proposed not teaming up for the Exam. Does she want to go it alone? No, she wouldn't have mentioned that bit about it being for those who can make it through. Victor thought as he looked over his meal as if looking to see that it was all there. The waiter quickly moved back to the kitchen after serving them, leaving them to their meal. He watched Alexandria, looking a bit frustrated at a loss of words. She didn't look too pleased, clearly thinking something that was not. Alexandria looked up with a smile, but Victor looked on thoughtfully. She had looked back at her food but didn't start eating. Raising his left hand, Victor gently grazed Alexandria with the back of his hand. “There's no one else I rather have with me out there, other than you. If you haven't figured that out yet, then maybe I should be trying harder.” Victor said, with a warm smile opposed to his mischevous grin. His eyes were fierce, as if in the middle of a fight. In truth, he was in conflict. While Victor felt that Alexandria did care for him, he wasn't sure if she did so alike him. In the beginning, all of that was an instinctual walk in the park. He didn't have a second thought about throwing flattery at her. It was perhaps rooted in his past, a book of introverted emotion molded by an environment of violence and hate only to be refined in the fire of clandestine service. What was a life of painstaking introversion, became shockingly reciprocated by the simple and timely exchange between man and woman. Who was Victor to fight nature? At such an age, even through a childhood of horrors, might a caring person rise? Matters alike those were not alien to him, so why should he feel so incompetent? Something witnessed by all, whether through media or education could not come through as such a mystery. Victor had chosen in the end, to face this enemy, whether familiar or not, just as he would any other. That fire was reflected in Victor's eyes, who sat unmoving for Alexandria to realize.

Alexandria Elaine Ferdinand Doctor || Knight || Exwire Alexandria could feel something brush up against her cheek, it was an oddly reassuring feeling. She looked back up towards her companion as he began to speak- How when time came for the exam he wouldn’t rather have anyone out there with him. As well as confirming many of the rumors that surrounded them. He did care, and he seemed to worry he may have to try harder to win her affection if she hadn’t realized it by now. Victor seemed deadly serious about this matter. His eyes glimmered as if he was in a fight for his life, and a very different smile had crossed his lips. It wasn’t like one of his mischievous grins he had shown her many times before. Instead it was a genuinely warm smile. One that may give someone confidence in what had been said.
Alexandria wondered who his words were meant to convince, he seemed to doubt himself or something. But she wasn’t about to ask about it over lunch. One of her warm smiles crossed her pink lips, “That is good to hear.. Could start by not bruising my arm though~” She replied, her tone changing from a serious nature to one that was clearly teasing as she spoke. Her grin changed to one of her own mischievous smiles, her olive eyes watching him intently. Her companion seemed rather pensive still. His mind clouded by some problem or concern no doubt.
Alexandria picked up the metal spoon that lay on the edge of the white plate that lay underneath her bowl of curry. She lazily looked down towards her meal, mixing the rice with the sauce, vegetables and meat. “I guess that means we will have to figure out who else we’d want in our group. If that is what we end up doing.” She said without looking up to her companion, her tone was fairly serious once more. ‘There still must be some people who will need a group. Can’t imagine too many people in our classes wanting to go solo- but who knows. As a group we will fail as a group if we can’t collectively pass the first exam..’ She thought to herself, contemplating potential allies and those who were likely poor choices. ‘There is still time.. But we’ll have to make our choices quick. There isn’t that much time between now and the exam.’ Alexandria told herself as she ate a spoonful of curry. Briefly looking towards her companion before her gaze drifted back towards the far end of the great hall.

The doors of the great hall swung open, Alaric made his way into the large room. He looked around as he started to sniff within the air, "I only thing I been in here once or twice, but each and every time I feel like I am in heaven," Alaric smiled as he made his way to the line to have himself some lunch. The young half breed felt at ease as he was able to hide his demonic presences from others, except for some who were skill then he was, but even if they can still sense him his energy wasn't all over the place. His eyes started to wander through the Great Hall, he could recognize a hand full of people from his real classes and only one from the Cram School, Joushi. He really didn't know much about him except that he looks like a female and is of the Dragoon Class or at least that is what he determine during the incident on the first day of school. The thought of that incident made him look back at who he was and how he announce that he was a half breed, which looking at it now was a terrible idea. He chuckled at his past stupidity, "Even though it wasn't that long ago, I believe I changed a lot since then. I just hope I can make the right decision later on down the road," he thought to himself. He continued to look around as he felt other Qi presences, but he was still inexperience and couldn't pin point it so easily, which was fine at the moment he really didn't want to waste his time. He figured he would meet the people who have a decent amount of Qi later on.
The line for food started to move slowly, "Man by the time I get food it will be time for training again," he said with a sigh. He started to get very impatience as he waited for the line to move a bit more. He could wait for hours for someone, but when it comes to lines he really dislikes it. A long line was his biggest pet peeve and being in a school this was going to happen a lot. He started to tap his feet as he started to get annoyed, he started to freak out mentally, "I don't want to wait any longer," he stomach started to growl, "I am so hungry!" While Alaric was having a complaining fest within his mind, he noticed that he was at the front of the line. The lunch staff looked at him awkwardly as they waited for him to place his order. He gave them a awkward laugh and rubbed the back of his head. He didn't waste their time and started to tell them what he wanted. He was able to fly through the order process and get his food. He started to walk towards a empty chair and took a seat. He was very excited to get an actual meal. "Thank you for the food," he said out loud before started to dig in.

• Jou was content to just sit and spend some quality time with Kit, a single slender finger gently brushing against the soft, silken, fluffy fur. The thick strands spilled over the finger and tickled what skin was within reach on the rest of the pink haired Dragoon's hand. Blue eyes were half lidded, watching the students in attendence that sat out of her master's vision, black pupils wide to allow a greater scan of focus in the large room. After a few moments the Beast Charmer had decided that perhaps this time would be better spent either in the library, where Jou could do some extended reading and studying. Or perhaps outside, where Kit could and would roam, dashing in between bushes and from branch to branch amongst the trees, stalking the occaisonal and unlucky rodent of bird that were caught in the familiar's sights. The pink haired Cram School student was just coming to a conclusion as to what would be best given the time of day, and the occaisonal drifted whisper of a small group of less respectable students talking about the lightly tanned Italian, when something caught bright green eyes. With a small smile on pale pink lips, head tilted and directed down at the small white kitten, Jou's pupils were large, taking in the periphere and the sight of the muscular blonde male named Victor leaning forward over the heavy wooden surface of the table he was seated at, arm snaking over and around the food placed down before him to brush the back of his knuckles against the slender female's cheek - Alexandira doing nothing to stop the motion. Jou gave a small, silent chuckle, nothing but the small shaking of shoulders to show the increase in mirth. Seemed as though Lloyd had either neglected to inform Joushi, or was unaware, of the potential romantic relationship the fellow True Cross Academy Cram School students held.
Pupils dilated, the focus of Jou's attention diverted from resting on Victor and Alexandria as a third Cram student entered the large and grand dining hall. Jou's pale pink lips pulled at one corner, tugging the small smile into one of familiarity. The Beast Charmer recognised the aura that had just entered, weak and flicking still, like an lantern swinging in a cold and harsh night, drawing the attention of any caught out in the dark. Without moving, Jou followed the source of the familiar demonic aura, green eyes still on the kitten, watching as blue eyes flicked over to Alaric as he walked by before returning her attention to the people seated behind the Italian. Alaric's comtrol seemed to have increased, if only slightly. But still Jou's well-trained area of attention was able to capture and zone in on it. Eventually, as Alaric lined up to get some food, Jou's bright green eyes flickered up, landing on the handsome male's distant figure. His appearance had seemed to change, a different form of style that only seemed to accentuate the half-breed's better features. Erzengel was kin of Anyanka, King of Wind, the most beautiful of demons, whose creatures that served her were known to hold greater beauty than others. Including the humans who had mixed blood with her or her ilk. There was something, Jou would admit out loud, that drew the pink-haired Dragoon to the Fighter. Perhaps it was Alaric's affinity with Anyanka, or some sense of familiarity or kin ship from their shared battles or Ignazio's picking apart of the male, it was all to difficult to accurately pin point. But Jou was curious, and wanted to follow that line of curiosity to see what lay at the end.
Jou waited until Alaric had seated himself before moving. Scooping up the white kitten, Kit giving a small mew of question at the actions, Jou placed the tiny animal on one slender shoulder before turning away from the still warm seat to instead approach the Erzengel male. With a gentle, friendly smile, Jou walked up to Alaric's side, appearing oblivious of one rough looking male student's rude and sharp comment on the Motisi's appearance. Dressed in white shorts and a plush, soft cyan dyed jumper that appeared at least two sizes too big. Jou raised a hand in greeting.
"Sorry to disturb." Jou began, voice sincere. "If you don't have the time, I was just hoping we might be able to catch up together some time?" Perched on the pink haired Dragoon's left shoulder, the white kitten stared down at Alaric with big blue eyes for a few seconds before turning, looking back at the length of table Jou had just walked down, staring directly at the small group of students who were peeping occaisonally at Jou's back, a disgruntled look on their faces.

The young half breed sat there as he ate his meal. With each bite he tasted a burst of flavors, he never had such tasty food in his life. The food was one of the best thing on the school ground. The only thing that can compare to the food was the other students, the people he met so far had a wide range of different personalities that he never experience before. True Cross Academy started to grow on him greatly, he couldn't imagine himself not being here. The school became a new home for him, in actuality it was in new home for him. Since his father passed away he really had nowhere else to go at the moment, he didn't mind at all, he liked his new home quite a lot. There was people here who help him to deal with his father passing, ways that almost killed him, but it still helped. Alaric couldn't ask for a better to call home, but that's mostly because he never anywhere else other then Germany and Japan.
Alaric didn't except to have any visitors during his meal, he only knew a few people and most of them were going to be at the courtyard, but to his surprise Joushi came up to him and wanted to chat a little bit. He looked at the his senior, he remember that Joushi looked like a female during their first encounter, but being this close he almost forgot that he was a male. Alaric gave him a smile, "Its nice to see you..." he ponder a bit, "Joushi, right?" Alaric had to really think about his senior name since he only remember hearing it once or twice during his time here. He then wonder if he ever talk to Joushi before and recall the only was when he figure he was an actual he, but other then that he couldn't remember nothing. He also recall that Joushi did hang out with Ignazio a bit, but that might because they were in the same house. Before he could respond to Joushi question, he looked down the table to see people giving Joushi some looks that he didn't like at all, but he wasn't going to get in the middle of it since he had no idea of the reason. His started to make a loud noise, he reached into his pocket to see that an alarm, "Oh s**t if I don't hurry I am going to be late," he said outloud. He looked up at Joushi, "I am sorry, I really would love to catch up with you, but I really do have to go." He started to all his trash on the place, so he could toss it. "Oh," he said before he reached into his pocket and he pulled out a notepad and pen, he started to write his number down. "Here is my number send me a text and we could set up a time to catch with each," he gave him the piece of paper with his phone number to Joushi. With his trash he took his leave from the table, he dumped the trash into the garbage and left.

• Jou gave a small nod. "I'm glad you remembered~" The pink haired Dragoon's smile grew slightly, white and perfectly straight teeth flashing briefly. "We've only briefly talked, after all. Mister Alaric." Jou's stance shifted back slightly, taking on a less formal and more familiar air, shoulders still pulled back and back straight. The proper posture remained even as mister Erzengel was heavily startled at the loud, sharp noise that suddenly began playing. Watchful green eyes studied the fellow True Cross Academy Cram School student, black pupils narrowing slightly, taking in the exact features of Alaric's face. The intelligent Italian teenager was attempting to deduce what kind of emotions and expectations the half breed was feeling as a means to try and narrow down to what, exactly, he may be late to attending. Jou only gave a friendly smile when Alaric's own brilliantly clear blue eyes turned to stare apologetically up at the Exwire. The Beast Charmer gave an understanding chuckle. "Of course." Jou offered. "This was rather sudden of me to push on you, so I certainly can't hold it against you. I wish you well on your travels." A slight bow of the head caused Jou's hair to fall forward in a silken cascade of soft, pastel pink, catching and reflecting the artificially lighting that filled the grand hall, lighting the room for people still having their late dinners. Some were slowed by open books and jotting down notes, others appeared exausted and ready for bed, but most appeared held back just from catching up with friends. "And I hope you get where you need to go on time." Jou offered a friendly chuckle before moving as if to leave the half breed to his cleaning and preperation to go. However, the movements were halted by Alaric's voice sweeping over the Italian. Looking back, hands dangling at Jou's side, green eyes watched Alaric pull out the small notebook and a plain pen with which the lavender haired male began jotting down a series of numbers.
"... Okay." Jou smiled, appearing surprised at the willingness to which Alaric offered such personal information. "I'll be sure to do that." Lifting a hand, slender fingers and manicured nails were revealed as the long, thick sleeves of too big a cyan dyed wool sweater fell down a smooth wrist and seemingly hairless forearm. Gently, Jou took the offered scrap of paper with a polite grasp, being careful not to crease the hastily written and ripped note, treating as though it was something to be highly valued. "I look forward to the next time we meet. Sir Alaric." Jou bid goodbye, standing and watching as the half breed took his leave from the Dragoon's presence. The white kitten, still perched like a rag doll on Jou's left shoulder, mewed, it's body almost half consumed by the thick, warm alpaca wool. Behind Jou the sounds of a chair scrapping scrapping across the wooden floor could be heard as the earlier boys who have been throwing glares at Jou's back shifted and one stood. Jou gave a friendly chuckle, appearing oblivious as the Italian began heading towards the large and elaborately carved double doors that allowed people from the hallways to enter. On the way, Jou carefully folded the piece of notebook paper, doing the best to keep the creases even and smooth until it was a small square to be pocketed with a careful slide into a back pocket. The number stored, Jou carefully plucked Kit from one shoulder and held the small, white kitten carefully with both hands, almost completely hiding the small animal in the thick material of the cyan jumper that covered Jou's chest. Footsteps could be heard approaching Jou from behind, but the Italian did nothing to indicate noticing the movements and echoes of heavy, multiple footfalls. Not until a rough hand suddenly clasped down on the pink-haired Beast Charmer's left elbow, halting the Italian's movements and turning the slender teen around, revealing a surprised and slightly off guard facial expression to the trio of rough looking males.
"O-oh," Jou gave a relieved smile. "Hi, Takeshi. How are you?" Takeshi, the black haired male that had grapped Jou's elbow gave a smile in return. He nodded.
"Good, good. I was just hoping you might be free for a minute." He began, the smile on his friends' faces not at all appearing a nice as Takeshi's own. But green eyes didn't see them behind the speaking male's larger frame. He was part of True Cross Academy's Kendo club, and the muscles revealed in his forearms from the rolled sleeves of his shirt only proved his dedication to a certain form of physical fitness.
"Of course!" Jou replied, a large and friendly smile breaking out over Jou's face, pale pink lips spreading wide. "I haven't seen you in class lately, is everything well?"
"Oh, yeah, just doing some club activities." Takeshi explained. "I was actually hoping you might help me with something." At Jou's curious tilt of a head Takeshi quickly corrected himself. "Nothing like doing my homework or anything, I just thought, seeing as you're the smartest guy in our class, that you might be able to help me understand a concept in our Economics class. I'm actually on my way to my dorm for a tut session, so would we be able to walk and talk?" Jou nodded.
"Sure," Jou smiled. "I'm always happy to help." Takeshi finally released Jou's arm and the two began walking out into the hallway, the two of Takeshi's friends following closely behind. The white kitten, during Jou's and Takeshi's small chat, had slithered further down the front of Jou's jumper, only her fluffy white head poking out the top and her body held by a gentle, caring hand through the thick wool. As soon as Jou and Takeshi passed through the grand entrance Takeshi immediately motioned to follow him in the opposite direction of the dorms.
"There is actually a short cut this way." He explained and Jou, after a brief pause and curious glint in bright green eyes, nodded and followed. "Ah," Takeshi began searching his pockets. "I think I left my pen back in the hall..." He mumbled, steps slowing down. Jou, following the black haired student's lead, also slowed, head turning to regard Takeshi as his friends came in close.
"I think I picked it up." One offered. Suddenly, as they slowly passed the door to an infrequently and now abandoned classroom. Takeshi opened it and one of his friends roughly shoved Jou through it. Stumbling forward, Jou's footing kept balance, going with the momentum and going deeper into the unlit room, the door quickly shutting behind the Italian after Takeshi and his friends entered as well. Jou turned, the open blinds of the windows allowing just enough light to see the three males' faces grinning down at the Dragoon. Left hand at Jou's side, the other still curled around the small mound tucked in the front of Jou's jumper. "Give us the cat." One male spoke, standing to Jou's right. The Motisi teen dropped the defensive hand, revealing the cat to be gone as the material of the alpaca wool jumper simply sagged naturally and smoothly around and the slender frame, the cuffs falling low and hiding soft hands.
"I dr-dropped her when you shoved me..." Jou whispered, head bowed low, taking a step back, thin frame lightly shaking as the three males drew closer. Green eyes turned up to the tall leader, pleading. "T... Takeshi?" He asked, silently begging to be let go, to be revealed that this was all a joke, or well-meaning surprise, something that wasn't what it actually was. The male sneered down at Joushi. "What are you doing?" He didn't reply. "She's abandoned, Takeshi. I have to find her and take care of her, please. Please don't hurt her!" Takeshi lunged forward and punched Joushi squarely in the diaphram, causing the Italian to lose what felt like ever inch of air from healthy lungs. Curling forward, both arms wrapped themselves around the beaten area, already a large and garish bruise forming from the force of the impact. Jou tried to breath in, but the diaphram was stuttering, stopping the lungs from drawing in the cool air for crucial seconds. Another limb came flying at Jou, the Italian barely backingaway enough for the foot's impact to be lessened as it sent Jou back even further into the dark room, crashing into the teacher's desk. Somehow the Dragoon remained standing, knowing better than to ever drop to the ground. It was too easy to be killed once a body hit the floor. The second it does the attackers usually resort to stomping, the flat of their foot and build of their legs allowing lethal attacks that feel like almost nothing to them, encouraging them to stomp even harder. When it starts to hurt to them, it usually means their victim is already close, if not there already, to death. Staying upright gave some kind of defense in and of itself, detering attackers slightly in case they somehow get retaliated against. Being on the floor promised they wouldn't get any physical reprecussions, encouraging them to let loose.
"Stupid b***h." Takeshi sneered, grabbing visciously onto Jou's pink hair, the silk strands pulled by the rough grip, forcing Jou's pained face to look up at the taller and more muscled male. "You're a sick f*****t," He spat. "Always following you're high blood pimps. Makes me sick." Another punch, this time lower down, bruising Jou's bladder and intestines from the sheer force of impact. Takeshi was pulling back his arm for another punch when the sound of glass breaking echoed in the room, the furtherest window from the front of the classroom where they were standing now open mawed with sharp shards of glass for teeth and broken blinds a lips. A rough growl, like a dog, filled the suddenly hushed room. The soft clicks of claws on the wooden floor made Takeshi and his friends shift back, closer to the door. "What...?" Takeshi glanced at Jou before throwing a jab into Jou's face, splitting the bottom pale pink lip and stunning Jou. Takeshi then took to moving quickly to the door. A rough snarl and a desk being toppled over sounded and Takeshi and his two friends scrambled out, leaving Jou behind for the unseen wolf to eat.
Hearing their hurried footsteps running down the hall, Jou stood, calmly brushing the light collection of dust from expensive clothes while one hand lifted to press a finger to the trobbing, cut lip, stopping the blood from flowing down and onto the thick jumper. It stung sharply, but Jou was impassive.
"You okay? Kit." A white fox approached from the back of the room, her large eyes staring up at Jou. "I'm fine. We'll get our time another day." A pink tongue poked out to lick the wound while another hand summoned Kit closer, the Beast Charmer kneeling down so Kit could sit up and place her front paws onto Jou's shoulder, leaping up and wrapping herself around her master's neck and turning into a white scarf, hiding Jou's wound and soaking up the blood. Hands now free, Jou fixed pink hair to sit calmly, heading out the door and back down the hallways, pausing only to purchase a small carboard box containor of strawberry flavoured milk from a vending machine. Pressing the cool item against one cheek it acted as a remedy to help prevent any bruising and swelling from forming on Jou's injured cheek and lip. Despite the heavy bruising on Jou's torso, the Dragoon continued to walk tall and straight, appearing completely unruffled.

Windows began to shatter as the power in the building went blank. The light from the sun coming through the shattered windows revealed the appearance of dog like creatures. Flames coming from their mouths as they stood in the shadows, before walking forward. Demons were attacking the Academy.

Blood pooled around the bodies, staining the floor and soaking into the wood that touched it. The smells of ash and smoke were strong, sounds of sirens echoing down the hall ways even louder. Low growls could be heard, amongst the random screams of lives cut short. Cautiously the half breed tip toed across the floor, her eyes wide, and her stance ever shrinking with the fear she felt. The flames licking the ground, the smoke rising only mild discomforts compared to what she suspected to be on the other side of the wall. Naira slide against the wall, her hands trembling against the warm stone.
As she drew near to the mouth of the Great Hall the young half breed halted, if only to try and recompose herself. Her breathe having become quick and shallow, hands trembling uncontrollably, knees buckling underneath her weight. Squeezing her eyes shut for a moment she took a deep breathe, ‘You can do this Naira. It’s only a bunch of crappy fire demons!’ the half breed told herself as she breathed out, slowly opened her eyes once more, the trembling and fear temporarily fading with a moment of bravery. The dark haired girl turned towards the wall, cautiously drawing nearer to the corner… Just enough to peek over the edge. What she saw surprised her… What looked like a thousand pitch black demonic dogs prowled around within the Great Hall. Some chasing down students caught within, others were chowing down on those who had already died. The expanse of the hall was filled with a low smoke… just from the breathe of the demonic entities within.
A particularly large gram stood up twenty feet from where she hid, it stood over the corpse of a young student, its massive jaw line raising up as the wolf like creature began to howl. Rich flames rising from its hellish body as its voice echoed the hall, others began to join in. The flames dancing around their bodies, the heat quickly rising. Naira ducked back behind the wall, a gasp of surprise escaping her lips. It didn’t go unheard, however, as the large gram began to creep forwards towards the place she hid. It’s footsteps slow and methodical- the beast could smell her fear. Knew she had made a grave mistake by coming here. Hundreds against the few who students who hid in the hall way. Naira’s eyes became wider as she realized the predicament she was in. Run, feed the weak and feeble to the wolves. Fight, and risk her own neck…
Naira stepped out away from the stony wall, her hands raising above her head as she began to chant, “Now the earth was formless and empty… Darkness was over the surface of the deep… And the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters!”

Naira closed her eyes tight as she began to concentrate her qi, a pale light beginning to form above her head. The glyph beginning to etch out its markings in the soft light. The demonic wolves in the immediate area had begun to draw close, their steps shuffling across the waxed floors, low grunts and growls escaping their toothy grins as they communicated with one another. The pale glow of the glyph quickly shifted to become dark like an oncoming storm, the ring and markings altering to hues of black and grey. Naira’s pale arms dropped to her side as the dark grey mist began to fall over the edges of the glyph. Her dark eyes meeting with the red beady eyes of her enemies, the large one she had seen before was only ten feet away.
The large garm wasted no time propelling himself into the air with his powerful hide legs, his mouth gapping open showing the rows of razor sharp teeth. Naira quickly came to realize how truly ugly this breed of demon wolf was- bat like faces with skin like that of a birds foot. But she didn’t dawdle or stare long, diving out and into the pool of mist that had formed. Her body skidding across the ground obscured by the blackened mist. The shadowy beast seemed confused, shaking its body as it tried to pick up her scent. The mist slowly beginning to fill the ground nearby. ‘Makes sense you ugly beasts rely on scents so much, small eyes, small ears but big noses and tongues…’ Naira thought to herself, knowing the dark mist would obscure her scents and hide her presence- making it a very effective spell for this particular fight. She could rely on her own ability to sense where her enemy hid while they were blind.
The dark haired girl rolled over to her knees before coming to a crouch, her left hand coming to her neck, fingers wrapping around the silver chain that hung loosely. Pulling up on the chain revealed a vial filled with a variety of small brown objects. Some thought them to be pebbles or some such substance- in reality they were seeds. Close to a hundred different seeds, many of which belonged to some variety of rose or other thorned plant. Tapping a few out she dropped the necklace back down her dress before concentrating her qi into her right palm. The seeds quickly growing from nothing into viney tangle around her wrist, Naira’s dark eyes looked up to the garm who stumbled in the darkness of the ever growing mist, A dark smile crossing her pale lips, ‘You may be stronger.. But this mist levels the playing field.. dog.’ Naira thought to herself as lunged forward, her right arm whipping around and the winy tangle quickly growing, responding to her qi. The thorned whip attached its self to the demon wolf’s head, the dog attempted to spew fire from its maw… But the mist had a secondary function, it smothered light, and the flames of the garm were quickly put out. Naira’s own qi supplementing the damage done as the vine tightened its hold on the demon wolves’ neck.
The dog began grunting and growling as it began trying to resist the pressure of the vines that strangled it, their thorns growing deep into its flesh. Naira could hear more draw close to their dying leader, the sounds of the paw steps were frantic, some even biting into the vines. The dark haired girl’s open palm collapsed into a fist as the large garm’s head popped from its shoulders, dark blood spewing out from its neck as its body became limp and fell to the floor. Naira was quick however to manipulate the vines to lash out to the nearby garm. The thornes of the vine looking closer to daggers as they struck into her enemies, some penetrating through the skulls of the garm struck. Their bodies shortly after falling to the ground, still and lifeless. Others still began to follow the direction of the vine whip, to try and track out its owner. Naira could only smile, a dark grin as she awaited them to draw near before lashing her whip out at them. Some fell dead with the swings, others would yelp and limp away, the thornes on the whip continuing to grow and sharpen with each time she lashed it out. As if the plant was responding to the black blood that coated its edges like it would ordinarily to water. The half breed took more silent steps towards the panting creatures, she had no remorse- they were the blood of her enemy. And they would die.

The beast sighing out its last breathe before collapsing with a loud thud to the ground. The subtle sounds of paw pads echoing towards her, they were many in number. Their voices shrill as they communicated like coyotes, yelping to one another for lack of a better method. Narai began to wonder why the garm were considered wolf demons at all with their current methods. She knew little of how the wolves of Assiah worked, just that a book she had read had mentioned they worked together to hunt their prey. ‘A pack.. I think.’ Naira thought to herself, ‘Perhaps it is because their pack leader hasn’t shown.’ Her thoughts drifted towards her human father. Naira’s dark eyes darted about the blackened mist; only faint figures could be seen circling around her. Their bodies massive, their movements confused- wandering almost mindlessly. Till one found its paw impaled by the one of the large thorns that had grown off the rose vine whip Naira had created. Each thorn had grown close to a foot long, the base of each being several inches thick.
The garm began yelping in pain, as it quickly recoiled running back a short distance. The shadowy figures in the mist ran towards where the pup had injured itself, thick noses down to the ground to begin to sense where she might be. The mist would disguise her- but it couldn’t completely hide her presence once they found the vine, as it coiled its self around her frail wrist. Naira’s gaze scanned the expanse of space between her and the garm, and the length of the whip between them. Quickly realizing the whip wouldn’t save her from the growing mass of demons before her. While, some would die… More still would make it through. And that was something she couldn’t risk, fire was her enemy. Naira cut off her qi from the vine-like whip- as quickly as the qi had fed the plants existence- the lack of it supernaturally caused its decline. The thick vine quickly deteriorating into dust, no proof there had been such a weapon- other than perhaps the wounds on the dogs who had been killed previously.
Naira shook her right hand of the dust as her left came to her neck; grasping the chain pulling it free from her body. Keeping a strong grasp on the chain as she leaped back, landing without a sound as she began to wrap the necklace to her wrist- if only to make it more useable for the fight to come. Once the necklace was secured to her left wrist she extended the right hand before her, her qi forming visibly into a ball of dark purple energy. Words excaping her lips once more- another chant: “But you blew with your breath… And the sea covered them.” Naira said as she raised her left hand plunged into the dark sphere, pulling a part of it away- a duplicate sphere. Her hands expanding out away from one another, each holding a dark purple sphere. “They sank like lead in the might waters!”

It wasn’t long after she had separated her qi into two identical spheres that the ground shook, like something far away had erupted. The young girl struggled to keep her balance, her steps uncharacteristically noisy as she caught herself; ‘An earthquake…?’ Naira wondered to herself as her eyes widened to see if the looming demon wolves had noticed the sound. It seemed unlikely that they were oblivious, ‘Perhaps they are shaken up as well…?’ the half breed questioned as her wide eyes scanned the area, strangely enough the demons seemed to have lost their focus on her. Large gnarly heads shaking as they cowered down near the ground as the earth shook. ‘What are they doing…?’ Naira questioned herself, as she stretched out her arms once more. The half breed had enough focus to have kept the spheres intact despite the commotion. She then began to bring her hands together, forcing the spheres to collide into one another. The dark purple light merged together before leaving its sphere like shape and forming a complex glyph in front of her: notably taking shape of an intricate shield within a square. The dark haired girl flicked her wrist to bring the vial of seeds to her hand, opening the cap with her thumb she poured out about five seeds from the bottle into her right hand before lazily throwing them up in the air. Capping the bottle once more she placed her palms onto the glyph created, focusing her qi into it.
The light sound of the small seeds hitting the ground was but a small reminder to the demon wolves that the girl was still there. They seemed to have a renewed vigor- perhaps feeling they had played around long enough. Naira could hear their paws crashing along the ground, many were before her. Running straight in her line of sight; others were circling.. It wouldn’t be long till they leaped towards her. The half breed could only smile, she was ready for them.
The garm leaped towards her, flashing their sharp fangs for the half breed to see, the depths of their throats glowing red like fire… Naira could only guess it meant they would try to spit their fire on to her soon. But she wouldn’t give them that chance. Channeling her qi into the glyph causing it to begin to glow with eerie light, a powerful stream of water being called forth. Violently the water ripped the bodies of the wolves apart, their dark blood mixing with otherwise clean waters. The dark hair girl could only laugh maniacally as she watched the garm’s bodies tearing apart like paper to the power of the summoned water. Those that had surrounded her leaped towards her, in retaliation, and the girl only laughed more as she lifted her hands from the glyph. Her arms fell to her side limply before she began to raise them, the seeds previously thrown growing at a rampant pace- vine like tendrils sprouting up impaling the garm in midair. Naira smiled with delight as she watched their bodies squirm, raising her left hand to cover her mouth as she drew close to one that was particularly close to the ground. Observing its body began to lose strength, it’s whimpering only bringing her more delight. “If only you could tell me how many more of you are left.. I’ve quite enjoyed the blood bath.” Naira told the beast, speaking softly. “But. I’m afraid I can’t be saving your life… you too will be sacrificed.” The half breed said with a cruel smile as she swiftly raised her right leg up high before bringing her heel crashing down into its skull. The bone shattered with the impact. ‘Oh. And now I’ve ruined my shoes…’ Naira thought to herself as she began to walk forward, not minding the water that lapped against her feet.

The dark haired girl walked slowly, her arms spread out to either side as one might do on a windy day. A large toothy grin crossing her face as she watched the mist fill the space, and crawl up the walls towards the ceiling as it made contact.. Only to fall down towards the floor once more, faint breathing could be heard nearby. Naira could tell it was human. But wasn’t sure if she cared to assist whoever it was. ‘I guess it wouldn’t look too good if they somehow found out I was able to do something.. And chose not to.’ The dark haired girl thought to herself, remembering her father’s words about having to hide who she was. To blend in.
Naira let out a sigh as she approached the source of the labored breathing. Coming to a crouch near a boy not much older than she was, he lay crushed beneath one of the large tables. One of the dogs lying dead on top of him. ‘That’s an interesting strategy. Using the scent of the garm to mask himself.’ Her dark gaze studied his face a moment, “You must have gotten lucky that I summoned the mist.” she commented plainly. The pale hair boy’s face contorted from a look of pain to a look of disgust and the small girl rested her chin on folded fingers, her elbows resting on her knees. His words were harsh, asking that she get the table off him and assist him in leaving the place. Naira’s gaze shifted away from him, “I’m not that nice…” She said, her voice trailing off as she stood up from her crouch, not noticing as the boy’s eye grew wide.
The half breed wasn’t oblivious to the steps on the oncoming garm, their voices after all echoed in the empty halls. Surely the boy didn’t think raising his voice was such a great idea. Naira leaped forward towards one, her fist pounding into the jaw of one as she kicked another’s snout. The girl knew she wasn’t about to kill any of them with her raw strength, not like that anyways. ‘Give me some time you stupid dogs..’ Naira thought to herself as her left hand grasped the small glass bottle that hung around her wrist. “When that table comes up, you get out. I don’t have time to carry you.” The half breed said to the boy, her voice was cold and jaded.

Naira spun around, her movements were swift and subtle- the boy behind her likely wouldn’t have noticed the small seeds that the girl flung around her. Only hear the soft words she began to chanting a ‘verse’, if only to guise her next movements as something of a fatal verse; “I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm..” Naira began as she stretched her arms out to either side once more, arms strong in their feigned stance. “Have given it unto whom it seemed to meet unto me~” The dark haired finished cheerfully as she raised her arms up above her head. The garm leaped towards the girl and her companion, only to be met by the rampant growth of vine like tendril’s piercing their bodies. The table that crushed the boy being lifted up as a large plant grew from seemingly nothingness to strangle a beast that approached him. The dark haired “aria” held her stance, a look of concentration crossing her face as more plant like tendrils would have seemed to appear, quickly impaling the enemies that approached. Her act was convincing, and the whimpers of the demon wolves were enough to make the boy move his a** to get out. Soon as the boy had disappeared into the blackened fog the half breed dropped the act. ‘If he were an aria he’d likely know the ‘verse’ I used was fake.. At least he seemed obvious to that fact~’ Naira thought happily as a small smile came across her lips, her hands falling to her side as the tendrils faded away into dust- the bodies of the dead dropping to the wet ground with loud thuds.
Yet, the girl could still sense some were near… There seemed to be hundreds more demon further into the hall. But some were very close.. The half breeds mind began to wander as she violently shifted her body to look around. ‘It doesn’t add up. There is no way I missed any… Unless..’ Naira thought to herself as she looked back towards the mouth of the hall. “Like any animal would.. You go for the weakest target.” The dark haired girl said softly to herself as she began to run towards the mouth of the great hall, leaping up over the massive bodies of the garm she had previously killed. The bodies of students already killed sitting in pools of their own blood nearby, the boy limping his way towards the place where the great doors to the hall might have once stood. But he wasn’t alone, large shades of the garm hung near him- they would strike soon. “Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to tee… and thou shalt eat the herb of the field!” Naira uttered aloud as she began to manipulate the fabric of the dead students clothing, the threads reweaving into a net which flung out to the three garm that approached the boy. Their paws becoming quickly caught in the web of thread. The half breed knew however that it wouldn’t be long till they could break free, her hand reaching back towards the bag she carried on her back. It would seem the object she needed most just happened to lay on top- a combat knife. Something she made a habit of carrying. Pulling the blade from its sheath, poison began to drip down from her palm- her mood having quickly shifted from delight to anger that the garm had been such cowards. Hunting down the feeble and ignoring her, ‘You will die for your ignorance!’ The half breed thought to herself as she leaped towards the nearest beast stabbing the poisoned blade into its throat, black blood spewing forth from the wound. Her hands kept guiding the blade into the beasts body till it became still, then she pushed herself away from it before viciously killing the next in a similar manor. The final garm however freed itself from the netting that had been created, baring its fangs as it leaped towards her. Naira met the attack with steel, her blade striking the beast’s nose causing a deep cut. The demon wolf recoiled in pain and the girl merely used the moment of weakness to pull the beast’s head down as she leaped on to its back. Her thighs gripping to the beast’s massive back she brought her poisoned blade down along the top of its neck, near to where the skull attached to the vertebra. Viciously driving her blade into the spot till the beast fell to the ground.
Hopping off the beast’s back Naira didn’t look back, her steps taking her once more further into the chamber. Through the broken glass rays of sunlight began to pour through. Evidently hours had passed, and golden flames could be seen falling in the distance. ‘What the hell is that..?’ The girl asked herself.

The half breed wasn’t given much time to question it as the building above her began to shake. A shrill sound echoing as solid rock seemed to be cut into pieces, the ground shaking violently as the building began to shift.. as if it would fall on top of her in a matter of minutes. Naira struggled to keep her balance, and could hear some of the garm crying out to one another. The dark haired girl could hear them scratching at the walls nearby- trying to find the way out of the place. They after all were still blinded by the dark mist, ‘Shame many of you won’t live to escape the stony prison.. I just wonder who or what was powerful enough to make this place so weak..’ Naira thought to herself as she shook her head.
The girl could only crouch as the ground shook the movements too strong for her to stand upright and hope not to fall over. Once the ground became still the half breed leaped to her feet, bursting into a full run. She could hear lumber and stone falling down behind her as the building began to fall apart. It wasn’t long before the girl could hear an eerie sound- as if something had just come loose. Her large brown eyes darted above her a look of fear crossing her face, her eyes widening as she realized that a large stone had begun tumbling down. Instinctively Naira threw out seeds from the bottle along her wrist, growing them within moments of the small objects hitting the ground. Some grew out and over her- forming a thick cage of vine-like tendrils. Others forming into flowers, although they weren’t of the “normal” variety; they had the ability to shoot out thorns coated in thick poison. While the poison wasn’t going to help the girl in this situation- the thorns could be fired at high velocities. The pressure of the massive thorns had the potential to break into the hefty stones that had begun to fall. The half breed could have her hopes at least.
Naira cowered down once more, holding her arms above her head as she expected the worst- her death. But hoped for the best- survival. Today seemed to be something of a lucky break for the girl, the thorns hitting their target chipping away at the massive stone enough to break it into a smaller piece. The remainder of which was caught by the net of vines above her. Only small chunks of dust and rock fell down on to her, Naira quickly stood shaking her body violently before proceeding to run out of the hall, making a rapid turn towards the court yard. Pushing open the massive doors, a look of terror crossed the girl’s pale face.
