"Jeez," Luke said, laughing, "if I need to hit him, I'll just hit him. I'm not trying to break his neck or something."

Rosie smiled, stepping back into a twirl so that she was walking forward again. It didn't take her long to successfully lead them back to the strip mall, that seemed to be a little more busy with people taking advantage of the open shops. probably to take a walk after their Christmas morning.
Thankfully there was a place they found indoors, and after Lunch had been consumed was open to allowing the trio and the little floating Legendary. To linger a few hours later, refilling tea and coffees as were so ordered.
It was nice being able to sit and talk, a few times Luke had been given strange looks, and Rosie couldn't help but giggle at the way they must look "The way you're dressed, Grand Ile noble dressed to the nines and a couple of tourists having lunch." Those poor confused passer by's, though it wasn't in ill intent, Rosie could tell at least that much. It was just fun.
by the time a new round of teas had arrives, probably their third refill, Northern had started to drift off, and eventually was encouraged into Rosie's arms, the trainer cradling the pokemon as she finally went to sleep. "There is a lot of new things going on, I'm not surprised she's warn herself out." Rosie noted, making sure the ribbons along her back weren't flopping around.

Luke eventually came to terms with the looks by justifying to himself that he was in costume - that was practically what the outfit qualified as anyway. He made sure to check the time now and again, not feeling completely guiltless in having ditched the afternoon's apparent activities and planning to return with time enough to finish whatever preparations were needed.
Luke rested an elbow on the table, the side of his face inclined lightly against his knuckles as he watched the little Jirachi doze off. "It's an awful lot, isn't it?" he said, remembering his first time in Kodo. "New place, new culture, practically nothing familiar… You think she'll be fine later on too?"

"Yeah it is. She's seemed pretty shocked most of the time, seeing such a big difference after barely getting used to Kodo. I forget sometimes how different it is here too. We got asked to leave a store this morning becasue we had pokemon... I think it upset her." she arched her eyebrows looking a little embarrassed. "Kodo used to be that way too though, before training started getting bigger."
"I'm sure she will," Rosie replied, glancing down at the Legendary then back up at Luke "Nicolette got her something cute to wear too tonight, she seemed pretty curious about it. Well, she's curious about the whole thing."

"I'd be surprised if it didn't upset her," Sera replied with a snort, finally entering the conversation again after her attention had drifted for quite some time. "They called her a pet, of course it'd upset her." Hell, Anastasia had been upset by it too, despite the fact the term was much more applicable to her than the Jirachi.

"Mm, yeah, I bet that seemed like a switch," he replied, frowning faintly. "People just aren't used to pokemon here the way they are in Kodo… Pokemon are tools used by the military, pets kept inside for company, or dangerous, wild animals to be aware of when you're traveling between cities." He breathed a sigh, resting his chin in his palm. "That's just another reason to introduce training here, though. People wouldn't be so cautious of pokemon if they had some idea of how to deal with them properly." He shook his head dismissively, "There's not much helping that for now, though. Hopefully someday."

Rosie nodded softly, reaching her free hand out to pick up her Tea cup. "I'm sure even all the League regions started off that way, in some form or another. It would be so nice to see Grand Ile understand that pokemon are not just animals someday." She smiled "I think opening the boarders to Kodo might eventually help with that. especially now we've got a league presence."
She lifted the cut to her lips to take a light sip, before she gave a start and made a noise as she remembered something. "Oh my gosh how could I forget! Now that I have both of you here." placing the cup back down onto the saucer.
Being gentle not to jar the Jirachi, Rosie reached down next to her where she had placed her shoulder bag, returning back up with two wrapped gifts. "These two are for Christmas." She said, sliding one for Sera and one to Luke, they looked about the same size, and weight, probably very similar from just an outward appearance. "And this is for your twentieth birthday." she finished, adding one more more oddly shaped one to Luke

Sera had started staring off into space again, her thoughts wandering before the gift was pushed in her direction, effectively pulling her back to reality. "Hm?" What did Rosie get them gifts for? Actually never mind, this was Rosie she was thinking about. Why wouldn't Rosie get them gifts? "You didn't have to do that, y'know," she said with a small frown as her hand shifted to reach for the present. With a curious glance from Luke's two to her one, she nodded her head at Luke, "You open one first." Man, and she didn't have anything for either of them... Not here, anyway. Why would she bring a wrapped present to another country when she could give gifts to them back at home in Kodo?

It was certainly difficult to think of the prestigious Hoenn region, for example, as a place that once treated pokemon like wild animals that belonged to a world separate from that of humans, but he supposed all of the League regions had to have gotten their start at some point.
Her suddenly exclamation drew Luke's posture more upright, his head tilted slightly to a side in curiosity as she went rummaging. The presentation of the wrapped parcels was unexpected, and he immediately agreed with Sera's statement - though he doubted that something like this being unnecessary would ever stop Rosie from doing it. At Sera's encouragement, he nodded in acquiescence, curiosity compelling him towards the stranger of the two packages.

"Its nothing big, just something to share for the holiday." She reassured, holding her free hand up with a bright expression.
she lowered her hand back onto her lap, watching Luke unwrap the first one. Inside he would find a case, that when opened held a wooden box, just big enough to be held comfortably in both hands, while an arrangement of different sized flack sturdy prongs all in order from smallest to largest, back up to smallest. and a hole right in the center. It was a strange looking object, that's for sure.
"I actually picked that up a while ago. I knew it was hard for you to sit at the Piano for long periods of time, so this was going to be a hand held alternative. Its called a Kalimba"

It was indeed a strange looking thing, and he wasn't entirely sure what to make of it, having never seen anything similar before. From Rosie's explanation he could gather that it was an instrument of some sort and moved to tap at one of the projecting prongs, his eyebrows raising at the sound it produced, "Oh." He investigated the sound further, testing the way the tones were organized and experimenting briefly with a pattern. His surprise gradually shifted into amusement, "That's so cool." He turned his attention to Rosie, a bright, warm gratitude in his expression, "Thank you."

Just the sight of him playing around with it, testing the sounds as closely as he had whenever he played with the piano, learning bit by bit by just studying the sounds. She had loved watching him self teaching. She was smiling before he even looked up at her, "You're welcome~" Of course there was always that initial worry that someone might not like a gift you gave them, so she was relived to hear that he liked it.
"Okay, sooo both of you together on this next one."

The brunette watched with a mixture of curiosity and amusement as he opened the present and began to play with the strange-looking instrument. Huh, interesting.
Rosie's statement that they both needed to open these ones at the same time was a little surprising, and she glanced to Luke before pulling her gift over and began to unwrap it, trying to match the redhead's pace so that they would, in fact, fully open them at roughly the same time.

Both of them would open the gifts to find a book. Though each one had a different book inside of it. "I though you two might like these ones in particular. But, also that your pokemon might like." she glanced between them. "I've read them to my pokemon before and we all really liked them both."
