Leo smiled on his way home, still shivering from the wind and rain which caused him to curled up against his brother to keep warm. Leo was starting to have doubts that he would really be able to do something like this, but he had already made a promise to that girl that he would at the very least try. Once they got to the bus stop near their house, the two brothers got off the bus and back into the shivering rain. Leo sneezed as they headed toward their apartment again.

Once the two arrived at the apartment and then their room, Asher proceeded to remove his wet clothing to put on dryer and warmer ones. He then made a phone call to Dr. Lambheart to cancel the appointment, to which she had once again agreed. Once finished, he called his boss to ask for another day off. He didn't say anything about the planned investigation for the next day, but instead explained that his brother was sick and needed him to take care of him. As soon as he hung up, he remembered the danger he and Leo may encounter. Yet, when he thought about it, the woman might be a sister, a daughter, a mother, or a wife. It would mean everything to her family to see her again. The more he thought about it, the more Asher felt it was better for them to try to save her.

Leo entered the apartment, shivering more as it seemed to be colder inside than outside, but at least it wasn't raining in the apartment. A few leaks here and there is manageable but any more than that and they wouldn't be able to live here. He took off his coat and set it on the heater to help it dry as he made his way up the stairs, taking off his shirt in the process which almost made him fall down the stairs but he quickly regained his balance again. Leo took off the rest of his clothing in the bedroom and put on his pajamas and slippers; he was a little excited that for once he would help save someone instead of him being saved all the time. This opportunity was going to help Leo as well, maybe if he helped this woman then perhaps his brother wouldn't treat him too much like a kid anymore, and being laughed out of the police station seemed to give him more motivation than anything else. Leo wanted to help desperately but he knew he couldn't do anything about it right this minute, it was going to take time. That seemed to be what made him a little more depressed. Leo continued putting on his pajamas and then slowly walked back downstairs, a hand always on the wall behind the railing so he knew where he was going. He made his way into the kitchen to make him and Ash a hot drink that would help them warm up. Leo grabbed the kettle and put some more water in it before placing it on one of the front burners on high.

Asher soon entered the kitchen, mainly to make sure Leo didn't accidentally boil his hand again. Speaking of boiling... "Leo, how's your hand? Is it feeling any better?" he asked as he eyed the bandaged appendage. The fact that the two of them, or at least Asher, had forgotten about it may have been a good sign. Nonetheless, he might have to change the wrappings anyway. He noticed Leo looked a more gloomy. Perhaps he was thinking about that woman again. His thoughts returned to their conversation the other night about how his brother had wanted to be useful. He chuckled a bit, thinking about how ridiculous it was that it seemed that fate was giving Leo this extreme opportunity. "Gosh, fate works in mysterious ways," he said, and his mind traveled even further back to the past, to when they were children. "Do you remember those crime-fighting games we played when we were kids? Who would have thought we're going to try going after creeps for real?"

Leo heard his brother's footsteps down the stairs and turned to face him just in time to hear his question. He looked at his hand and slowly unwrapped the bandage. "I almost forgot I had hurt it." he said softly, looking at the skin that was burned last night. "It's okay now, just a little pink." he said softly, his mind was clearly elsewhere. Leo was brought back to those memories as Ash explained them and gave a soft sigh. "Only it's much easier to play Clue, the bad guys were always limited to a few. There are nearly sixty billion people on earth....How are we supposed to find a bad guy when there are so many people in our city alone?" he asked, though it was more of a thought which had manifested itself through Leo's vocal cords and wasn't looking for much of an answer.

Asher examined the hand and, seeing that it looked mostly alright, decided to leave it unwrapped for now. "There's actually around seven billion people on Earth, Leo. The planet is too small for sixty billion," he corrected. "Anyway, about finding the bad guy, I think you can do it. The dream thing sounds weird and all, but maybe there's a reason you have them." He ruffled Leo's hair a bit. "Cheer up, okay? If all goes well, we'll find the woman and rub our success into the police officers' faces. Just imagine the headlines: 'Psychic Boy Helps Save Missing Woman' or something like that. I bet the officers will be at our door apologizing to you or something." He tried not to think about the danger they were getting themselves into. He was trying to lift the mood, not make anything worse.

The police coming to their small apartment to apologize, that would be a sight to see. Leo smiled a little and nodded at the notion. "Maybe. I don't really want to think about it right now though." he said softly, waiting for the water to boil. "We should make something for the new neighbors. You know, to welcome them to the neighborhood." Leo was trying to let his mind wander but it was proving more difficult than he previously thought.

"Ah, yes, the neighbors. They're kind of a lot like us," Asher said, a bit glad about the change of subject. "We happen to know one of them a little, too." He also watched the pot for any boiling, just in case Leo would miss it. "They seem like a friendly bunch, and I'm sure they won't mind you or anything." He would have went on, but he wasn't sure if things were lightening up. Leo still looked depressed, though not as much as he was before.

Leo turned his attention back to the stove and turned off the burner once he heard bubbling. "Will you pick a tea out for me?" he asked curiously, thinking of what they could do to welcome their new neighbors. "I think I might bake them a cake tomorrow while you're at work. I think they'll like that." he said, a small smile appearing as he tried to force himself to lighten up a little.

"Hm? We're not going to start our rescue mission tomorrow?" Asher asked as he picked out some green tea packets. "I even asked for another day off for that. The boss didn't take it too well." He practically kicked himself in the head when he realized what topic he went back to. "You know what? Forget I said that. Erm... Want to go back to the grocery store to get some ingredients, then? I'll probably have to ask the neighbors what they like in cakes or something."

Once Leo heard his brother mention their 'rescue mission', he realized what an incredible burden he was to his brother. He didn't ask for him to take tomorrow off but he did anyways so he could look after him. Leo knew he couldn't place such a burden on his brother, he was trying so hard to provide for the both of them. "You should go back to work tomorrow, brother. You work so hard as it is, I know it must be tough. But I think it would be better. I promise not to go on this mission alone." he reassured, sitting at the table and waiting to go put sugar in his tea.

Asher couldn't help feeling as if Leo was blaming himself for something. "Leo, it's fine if I skip work for another day. My coworkers did tell me that I needed to take more vacations," he said, trying to assure Leo that he had no problems. "I'm one of the best workers, anyway. The boss won't fire me so easily." He smiled, though Leo wouldn't be able to see it, and patted his brother's head. "Don't worry so much, okay? If you keep feeling worried or depressed all the time, you'll grow old too early or something."

Leo hung his head a little, he already felt much older than he actually was, going through a tragedy somehow caused that to happen with some people. He nodded gently and pointed to his cup in the kitchen. "Can you put some sugar in it and hand it to me please?" he asked softly. Once he wrapped his hands around the hot cup and sipped at it lightly, he had decided that maybe a little tv before bedtime would be nice, but the ingredients for the cake would need to be gathered as well. "I don't think we'll be making a cake from scratch, now that I think about it. Too much money. We could go get a box of cake mix and some frosting. Well...that is....I don't really want to go back out in the rain again. We could always make something else?"

As Asher put sugar in his brother's tea, he wondered how their lives would have been like if they still had their parents. He had to admit that he wished he didn't have to work so much, but Leo needed him. The elder was the only one capable of supporting the two of them, so his personal desires weren't important. Family came first, after all. His mind was so far gone at the moment, thinking of the what-ifs. Asher figured he can find a family who would take Leo in, but he didn't want his brother to feel as if he was abandoning him. Asher didn't want them to be separated, either. But wouldn't Leo be better off, then?

Leo noticed his question went unanswered, he wondered if his brother was still in the room but he didn't hear any footsteps walking out of the living room. He gave a heavy sigh and set his cup back down. "You're doing it again.....you keep doing that, getting really quiet. What have you been thinking about lately?" he asked curiously, his brother almost never got silent this often.
