Never Again...Herald put one hand on Emma's back. "It isn't that," he told her somberly. "It doesn't matter how much you trust someone or not. Things can and do still happen to them. And then you're left with nothing." He was speaking for more than just himself though. He was fully aware that he was always taking dangerous risks in fights and he was no fool; realizing he could die in any battle. Emma was more likely to lose him if he were honest. He didn't want that either. Will I be bound in chains

Emma stopped moving and looked back at him "I won't die if that is what you are implying. I didn't come this far for that to happen." she told him, a dead serious and determined expression on her face "You shouldn't think like that either."

Never Again..."I won't die..." Herald repeated quietly. "Do you know how many times I've heard that? From how many different arena opponents? Some before I killed them, some before they died at the hands of others. No..." he shook his head. "You can't say that. No one can."Will I be bound in chains

Emma got off of him then and sat up "Well I can. I promised everyone that. I promised everyone that suffered and didn't make it out of there that I would keep living until I die of old age like someone is supposed to. I intend on keeping that promise even if my heart gets ripped from my chest." she told him with a frown. "What else should I say? I am going to die tomorrow? Maybe the next day? Yes everyone dies but that doesn't mean you have to be in fear of it. Instead you should keep living and enjoy it." she explained to him.

Never Again...Herald shook his head and looked away from her, a frustrated look on his face. "It's not my death I'm afraid of. If I lived in fear of death, I would never fight. There's something worse than simply dying that I do not wish to face. And yes, you could die tomorrow, or ten minutes from now. It's not being a pessimist, it's accepting reality." He folded his hands behind his head and under the pillow as he looked towards the wall. Will I be bound in chains

00SpiritedAway00 I gtg to bed, so I'll seeya tomorrow! Herald looked over at her as she lay next to him. "I...." He shook his head. He wasn't ready to share that yet. He didn't know if he ever would be willing to share something like that. He reached out for her again, cupping her cheek in his hand. "Something that I don't have to worry about right now, in this moment,"[/color he replied simply as he looked into her eyes.

Emma looked back at him before she slowly nodded. Once he cupped her cheek, she smiled slightly at him and moved closer to Herald once more.

Never Again...Herald took Emma into his arms again, but he still seemed to be worried about what he had talked about. At least she seemed to understand. Still, it didn't make the situation any less worrisome to him than it would be. He had always avoided attachments for a reason. He preferred to keep people at a distance, but suddenly found himself having trouble doing so with Emma. He still couldn't bring himself to let her all the way in but he could already tell she was beginning to matter a great deal to him. He had done all this for her after all. And he had already seen what the future may be like. He didn't understand how that could happen, but somehow it seemed to have had. He wanted to thank her for not pressing the issue but instead remained silent, showing his appreciation by holding her against him once more.

Emma simply made herself comfortable in his arms once more. She didn't see the point in bothering him any further with their current topic if he didn't want to talk about it. She inhaled deeply before closing her eyes.

Never Again...Herald watched Emma close her eyes before he closed his eyes as well. He found sleep more elusive, but eventually it came. His dreams still weren't pleasant and he tossed and turned a few times, but it wasn't as bad and he never lashed out the entire time. It seemed Emma's presence did have an effect on Herald even in his sleep.

Emma fell asleep as well before waking up hours later once it was morning, or she thought so at least. She sat up and rubbed her eyes a bit. Her tired expression quickly changed as her stomach growled rather loudly. I guess I should go find food then... she thought to herself. Eating could be a pain sometimes. It was one of the things the higher ups still kept in their subjects in order to use starvation as a torture tactic for them if they did anything wrong. The worse part for Emma was that, if she got hungry enough, her energy would begin to run low and she would turn into the kitten form she hated so much. She untied her hair, letting it loose since it got messed up a bit while sleeping. She tied the ribbon around her hand and glanced towards Herald for a few moments to make sure he was alright before getting out of bed. That was when she recalled that she was in a huge castle I guess I will consider this an adventure then... she thought to herself with a small laugh as she walked towards the door and peaked out before going out into the hall to search for a kitchen.

Never Again...Herald didn't stir as Emma woke up and left the bed. He clearly needed a lot of sleep from the events yesterday as well as creating a whole new realm. As Emma walked out into the hallway, something was standing at the opposite end of it, seemingly watching her though it had no eyes  It remained silent and still, making no motions towards her or identifying itself in any way. Will I be bound in chains

Emma's ears twitched slightly as she turned and noticed the figure. She wasn't exactly sure what do do at first. "Um Hello there... Do you, by any chance, know where the kitchen is located?" she asked politely. She kept a distance between herself and the figure since she didn't know if it was hostile or not.
