Jessan - Liana's Stall1 3/8 mark"They look absolutely delicious. I'm sure you'll be completely sold out by the end of the day," Jessan gazed wistfully at the pastries now in her hand. Three would go to T'arn and two to herself. It took all her self restraint to not just gnaw on one right then and there. "Benden, yes. Very, very Benden. Wouldn't know what to do with myself outside of here or Healer Hall." she smiled again and dipped into a bob of a bow. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a metalsmith to harass with your pastries. He's been pining. ---- D'ei - with V'ellCounting happens when brain is in placeShe snorted, small hand waving off V'ell's concern of D'ei seeing her buying a gift. Any dismissal quickly paired up with unconcern over public demonstration of silliness with V'el's very distracting kiss. "I'm sure that's plenty roma-- What are you doing?" V'ell on her knees always came as something of surprise and amusement to the brownrider. She'd seen her that way more than a few times, for better and worse reasons than this, but V'ell on her knees... well, D'ei never quite got used to looking down at someone who so often loomed and draped. She put down the wrapped package with care and took the box. "It's certainly not a puppy," said she with little in the way of the ability to joke. And then - beauty. Absolute wonderful beauty. D'ei blinked into the box before her usually hooded eyes went wide in shock, the knuckles gleaming in what light peered around her shadow. The box clicked shut in the same instant D'ei stepped closer, one hand on the gift, the other curled around the back of V'ells neck as she leaned down for a kiss that teetered on the edge of not quite appropriate for the public. Her hands did not move from their positions. She'd never been very good with words.

Anali - G'nar's Stall4 1/4 marks"Evening, A'nos." The goldrider smiled and inclined her head politely. "You look quite well, yourself. I trust you are?" "In that case, it's Anali, not goldrider," the woman replied, nothing but friendly tones and a smile. "A'nos is right, those are fair prices. Would you mind if I touched the tawny one?" Another customer, another acquaintance. "Hello, Canoake. Banshi's doing quite well, thank you. And how is Tatath?" Celandine - T'arn's Stall4 5/8 marks"I did, thank you, though I likley won't be keeping it. I've never had much need for a flit." Celandine 'hmm'ed then, considering the price and the two remaining figurines. "Commissions, you say? Would that cost the same, or a little extra?" Kesin - Moving on to G'nar's Stall2 1/2 marksWell, that explained how she'd never noticed such a fine wher at Malvren before. A pity they lived at Benden, though - she wouldn't have minded a wher like that chasing her Kesisk...who casually swung around to bump into her, disapproving. She would run when she ran, and she would choose her male, not her handler. Kesin thought about it far too much, if you asked the gold! "Oof, hey, Kesi, that wasn't very nice," Kesin complained, pushing back at her wher's bulk. Having gotten what she'd come to the leatherworker's stall for, and what information she wanted from the brown's handler - and they had moved on to a conversation about reimpressions, which held no interest for her - it was time to get back to her shppping before she missed out on any other good deals. She nodded politely to the other women. "I'll leave you be. It was nice meeting you." Conversation was all well and good, but she was far more interested in those luxurious-looking feline furs over there. "C'mon, Kesisk, time to go." The gold huffed at her partner. She would rather stay with Ellansk, not do boring shopping! After some mental pushing, however, she trailed off after her bonded to go look at stupid things. Stupid, dead furry things. The rider with the furs was busy! And that, to Kesin's mind, was bad. It was competition. "Oh, these are just exquisite," she gushed, trying to make sure she was noticed. "Do you catch them yourself? It must be so dangerous!" While her handler was preoccuppied, Kesisk took the opportunity to slip away and make her way back towards Ellansk. She had to nudge a person out of her way here and there, but fortunately, people tended to have the sense to let a wher pass.

"Anali then" he nodded at the Goldrider, he hadn't really bothered in the first place to learn about the Goldrider, he hadn't needed to. He'd taken his orders and carried on as usual, he wasn't much interested in interal affairs though he obviously knew the Goldrider had transferred in, since Benden's Golds were elsewhere. "Same as i said to A'nos, if'n your hands are clean you c'n touch" he said, maybe not as gruffly, he just didn't want his pelts being dirtied, once sold, the owners could get them as mucky as they liked but while they were still his, he wanted them to stay clean. G'nar was busy with his customers (who knew he'd be so popular) so he hadn't noticed the Wherhandler until she spoke up, it seemed the others were busy conversing so he turned his attention to her, "Aye, they're good'uns alright" he agreed with her, "I track 'em, Jareth dispatches 'em, but he's got more than his fair share of reminders that y'can get hurt bad" he informed her. "Learned that lesson meself just the once, Jareth's a big boy, he's good at what he does"

Toska - Wandering 9 2 1/2 marks
"You're too kind, sir." Toska smiled at T'arn once more, inclining her head to him and taking the bag as he offered it. "I'll send people your way if they ask where Tosk got the pendant," she added, and then she turned to the aforementioned wher, reaching down and patting her. "Okay, c'mon, you. We'll go find you something nice, now. I have two and a half marks. Let's see what we can get."
Trilling delight, Tosk surged to her feet and nudged Toska hard in the hip, then set off through the crowd at a rapid pace, trailing her handler in her wake.

S'aak - T'arn's Stall 4 3/8 marks
It just...seemed to make sense to move from Liana's stall to the stall next to it, though S'aak wasn't entirely sure whether he needed anything from T'arn. The greenrider was someone S'aak knew relatively well - a wingmate and one of the men who seemed to mostly share his opinion on the manner in which the Revolution had turned. And they had enough in common, what with the smithcrafting - though T'arn was significantly better at it than S'aak would ever be.
"Hello," he said softly as he stepped up to the man's stall. "How's business so far?"

Sa'nil - Tunnelsnake Splat 2 4 7/8 marks
no sorry - not your fault
The bronzerider smiled brightly at Valeska as she apologized, shaking his head briefly in an attempt to put her at ease. There wasn't really an issue with the pair of them getting separated, except that Sa'nil preferred to use Valeska for a translator rather than trying to communicate through writing, the way he did when he was alone. It was a matter of convenience rather than necessity, and certainly not something the bluerider needed to be upset over.
For a moment, he blinked at Valeska's clumsy attempt to describe...something. But then he nodded, realization dawning on his face, and smiled widely, quickly signing back, you want "firelizard", and carefully accenting the sign for flit as he did it. game give egg - ? he asked, but it was rhetorical clarification rather than an actual question, and he was already regarding the game speculatively.
get food soon, he suggested to the bluerider, then reached out to take the bat from her. want try first, he added, frowning slightly as he realized there were really no decent signs for the kind of attitude that words like but and though would convey in speech. He'd have to work on that. As it were, he smiled sheepishly and shrugged one shoulder, then lifted the bat, testing its heft experimentally.
Nodding to Valeska, he signed drew a handful of fraction-marks out of his purse and handed them to her, jerking his chin in the direction of the stall-owner. Hopefully, she'd get the picture and pay the stallkeeper. It was faster than trying to struggle over number-signs to puzzle out fractions - something Sa'nil hadn't even gone near yet - or write anything down.
And then he'd see how many things he could hit with a bat, he supposed.

Anali - G'nar's Stall4 1/4 marks"No sweet dough yet," Anali promised, holding up her hand as proof that it was devoid of any substance that might sully the pelts. The gray one was truly beautiful, and the spotted tawny pelt as well, but she was determined not to be too extravagant. She dismissed them and stroked the simpler pelt, enjoying the feel of the fur beneath her fingers. "A mark for this, you said? I'll take it." Kesin - G'nar's Stall2 1/2 marks"You and your dragon are very brave," she wondered, wide-eyed with admiration that was mostly sincere, if played up for the sake of flattery. Kesin cast a sideways glance at the rider buying one of the simple pelts. Well, let her have it. The others were much finer. "And so skilled, too, to keep the pelts so intact. I would never have guessed a dragon had made the kill." "Your best one, what are you asking for it?" She didn't care about the others, not when there was one so superior to them.

"Canoake!" A'nos exclaimed, turning to the green rider with a broad smile. "It's good to see you, you look beautiful." Dangerous, dangerous woman that she was he actually quite liked her and he couldn't say that of many people though of course he was excellent, exquisite, at seeming as though he did. "I'm much better thank you and Acriculeth is well," he continued with a slight nod, "we're cleared to fly the upcoming Fall, it would have been galling to miss it because of Trine." He would not soon forget what the red-riding wingleader had done to him, or his time in that cadge. His smooth skin had scars on it now, though here at least that was an advantage. Badges of honour, a little something to make him fit in better in the sometimes savage environment. "I just bought two of the furs, only a severe effort of will persuaded me to save some marks for other purchases," he confessed to Anali with a slight grin.

G'nar6 1/8 marks G'nar smiled a small smile at Anali "It's yours, ye takin' it now or am i sending it to your Weyr later?" he asked, then proceeded to put it to one side for her and off the front of his stall. He was pleased that not only had his pelts not been soiled, those that had handled them had felt the quality of them, sure they had their marks on them but thankfully most of those had been the head and underbelly which he'd been able to remove mostly when he skinned the creatures. He turned his attention back to Kesin "The grey one is me best one, it's 5 marks" he told her, flattery didn't get anyone anywhere with him, he wasn't interested unless Jareth was in the middle of chasing a Green or something. Compliments however were appreciated when they were due "If you say so, Jareth does the dangerous part 'n' he LIKES it so ....." he wasn't exactly dimsissive of the risk but he didn't ever really think of the danger when he and Jareth snuck off to hunt felines when they could. "He goes for the head and belly, best places to make a kill and keep the pelt unspoiled" he informed her when she said she'd never have guessed a dragon had dispatched the felines. The grey spotted one was a bonus because he'd heard it had been bothering people, sure he'd done them a favor but the best bit was the fine pelt that lay on his stall.

"She is doing well. Thank you for asking. She is ready for fall or whatever else comes our way. And thank you, A'nos. As always, your words are welcome. I am happy you both will be joining us next Fall. I could only imagine if we missed it, Tatath might never forgive me.". Canoake shook her head and then looked at the newcomer who also seemed interested in the cloudy fur. Paying close attention, she showed off then jar, making sure it was noticeable to G'nar. It wasn't like she was attached to the jar. "I won this flit egg at the dip game. Only cost me an 1/8th mark to play. I think I might keep it but maybe I might trade if something truly catches my eye. Tatath and I were both admiring the pelts, a nice extra to our weyr. Especially since the quality is so fine." Five marks. Just over what she had left... If she bought the fur, she would have to charm others for food and drink. "Hmmm, a fair price. Just out of my range though. A shame. I may go for one of the others instead," she replied as she very carefully petted the fur.

Liana - Liana's stall 4 1/4 marks Earned: 1/2 mark
"I'm glad to hear it," Liana replied to Jessan's complement. "I hope you enjoy the pastries, and the rest of the Gather."
With her last customer moving off, Liana took a moment to look around at the Gather. The stall next door (likely the metalsmith her last customer had mentioned, from the glimpses she could catch of his wares) seemed quite popular, as did a couple of the other craft stalls. The other bakers' stall seemed less frequented than her own, she was pleased to note. But there was plenty of Gather time left. She was curious to see which of her wares sold, as she'd never tried selling a couple of the more unusual ones.

G'nar6 1/8 marks G'nar's interest was rather piqued now, especially when Canaoke said she might be willing to trade the flit egg she won. He tilted his head ever so slightly when she mentioned the grey spotted fur was out of her price range. "I don't suppose ye'd be willin' to sell me the egg?" he asked, if she said no then that was fine, it never hurt to ask. He would have offered an outright trade but he DID have more than just Canaoke interested in the grey fur, he could always hoard the marks he made from the sale of it and buy a flit egg another time. He wasn't particularly mean enough to not even let Kesin have a chance at the pelt but there WAS only one of them "The tawny spotter is only 1 and a half marks" he reminded Canaoke, in case she didn't want the grey pelt nor wanted to sell her egg to afford it either.

Mokah - wandering 1 mark
Mokah picked up her new dagger and slipped the sheath on her belt. "I'm sure next time I'm on a mission, it will be put to very good use indeed." A blade this fine ought to be quite useful in a fight. Though she ought to see if she could get some pointers in knife fighting, since she only had basic instruction in it, really. With the dagger settled to her satisfaction, she nodded to the smith and drifted off.
Now where to? She didn't have much in the way of marks any more, so she couldn't do anything extravagant. Not that any of the items she saw were much to her interest. She strolled through the stalls anyway, casting an eye over crafts, games and food alike.

"Thanks," Vakus replied to Serdek, accepting the tip with a warm grin. "I like a challenge! You take care now!"
Jorman and Jossi
"Good morning Ma'am and welcome to Jorman and Jossi's where every bite's a beauty!" the girl chirped, hastening up to the front of the stall to greet Linfon with a big grin that showed a gap at the front where an adult tooth was half way through growing in. "Sweet dough is an eighth a half dozen! My lovely assistant can pour your a mug of complementary klah to go with your purchase, we have a jug from the fest tables so it's no cost to us and none to you either!"
Jorman just stood back and smiled to himself.

A'nos - G'nar's stallA'nos remained quiet for the time being, leaving Canoake to finish her haggling. As he watched Symphony re-appeared from wherever she had been and landed on his shoulder. The little crimson got an offhand feeling of affection for her trouble and ever adoring she cooed and cuddled up against her master's neck.

tetrachrome Sa'nil - Tunnelsnake Splat
The stall keeper watched Sa'nil's gesturing with polite confusion but a customer was a customer, regardless of how batty they were. When the scarred man managed the high score of the day so far a big grin spread across her face and she gave a short round of applause. "Well done! You're our top score so far, got all but one of them!"

Naree- At G'nar's stall 4 7/8 -1 1/2 marksShe thought about it really hard but when Symphony popped from between and settled on A'nos, she shook her head with regret. The advantages of having a flit and a creature that offered complete devotion to her was too great to ignore. "I have to decline on the trade but I will take one of your tawny pelts if I may?"Good choice. I think I will like having a little one around, Tatath chimed in.
