"420? Wow. That's old! I'm only 17." She suddenly realized what she said could have been offensive. "Um... Don't take that the wrong way, okay. I'm sure you're not old for an elf. But for a human... You get what I mean."

"Yes," Darian replies, "I understand. I have heard many humans say they envy elves longevity."

Lael shakes her head. "Not me. I would hate to live for that long. I mean, it's just to long for me." She shrugs. "It's probably different for elves. But if a human lived that long they would have to watch everyone they loved die."
((Should we wait for Margem?))

"So true," Darian replies, having experienced this a few times.
(OOC:It's only fair that we do.)

Kitara had kept quiet after she had made her last statement. She was hurt that her cousin would even think that she'd ever want to kill him. There were times she had wanted to disown him, that being the most serious thing she would have wanted to do to him because she loves her cousin.
She comes back into the conversation as Jay lands on her shoulder, "I'm 419, a few months younger than Darian. I don't talk about my age much because it really doesn't matter to me. However, I am curious about how he may have forgotten I am only about four months his junior...."
((Ooc: As you can tell by my sig, I won't be on much due to dialup access. I'll try to get on every night, but can't promise it.))

"I forget many things both in combat and shortly after," Darian explains, "You know that, and you also know that I was in the ranks fighting for our village not too long ago. However, once my adrenaline stopped flowing I would have remembered that even if you has not reminded me."

"So, you forget everything while in battle but can remember outside of battle?" she asks her cousin, confused, "Is that what you're trying to tell me?"

"Not everything," Darian explains, "But I do forget some things. I concentrate purely on the battle and everything else slips from my thoughts for awhile. For a little while after I'm always thinking about what I could have done better, especially now. It's something I got from my father appearently."

"It might be," Darian shrugs, "I know now that I should not try to take on big cloaked warriors with weird auras on my own. I should have thought of that earlier but these things happen."

"Indeed it is," Darian says, "I won't make that mistake twice. Once was painful enough." The elf laughs weakly at his comment.

Kitara had been listening into the conversation as they walked.
"How'd I know it was due to something like that, cousin?" she asks after he told how he had gotten the wound, shaking her head, "My cousin, ladies and gentlemen! The elf who is brave enough, or stupid enough -you decide, to attack a large warrior!"

"Doing so might easily have saved the lives of others who wanted to do the same," Darian says, sounding offended that his cousin would even hint that he was stupid.

The navy-haired elvish lady sighs saying, "Cousin, I didn't call you stupid or even close to it.
"That's a very good reason, but I still don't think it was probably the wisest idea. You probably should have taken the warrior on with a few other allies nearby, not by yourself. Am I right, Lael?"
