"It's hard, David. I was Prefect too, remember? I almost lost it two or three times. It's not that you don't deserve it, but more a question. Can you rise to the title and prove that you earned it?" She shrugged lightly, knowing she had never exactly been the star example for Prefect. When David said it didn't matter, she shook her head. "David, it does matter. You matter. A lot. Trust me on that. Everyone matters." She nodded simply about the language, shrugging. "I learned it when I was little, I guess. But... I prefer not to talk about my childhood, if you please." David didn't seem too terribly happy with the fact that she remembered. "I never did get around to asking what you want to be after you graduate. So what is it?" She looked ever so sisterly, but she was, sort of. He had said she was like an older sister! When he said he'd have to pass his OWL, she nodded a bit. "I failed three of my OWLs. Defense, History, and Transfiguration. I did even worse on my NEWTs.That closed off both my back-up job ideas. It's a lot more important than it seems, trust me on that one." She scratched at her arm lightly, then gave a rather maternal sounding sigh. ღMust I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?ღ ღThere's a heart that must be free to flyღ ღThat burns with a need to know the reason whyღ ღWhy must we all conceal what we think and how we feel?ღ ღMust there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?ღ ღI won't pretend that I'm someone else for all timeღ ღWhen will my reflection show who I am inside?ღ ღWhen will my reflection show who I am inside?ღ

Location: Leaky Cauldron David nodded he knew all too well that Remy had been a Prefect. The way he saw it she was the best in fact truthfully he didn’t really know any other Prefects because he’d only dealt with Remy. Of course that was aside from Elli these days or so it seemed. “I think I can. I mean I’m not like Chloe thinks I am. I worked hard last year and I was rather responsible at least I thought so anyways.” He told Remy. It made him feel better knowing that she thought he mattered although he hardly thought so. Probably because he believed there were always more important things. At the mention of not wanting to talk about her childhood David began wondering why. He wasn’t about to ask knowing there had to be a reason, not to mention she did say please. However he couldn’t help thinking of the possible reasons for it being an unspeakable subject. He could think of a few but he pushed the thoughts aside returning to a friendlier and more uplifting topic of conversation. “Um… funny you should ask.” David said as he watched the look on Remy’s face. She really was the sister he always wanted. “I have a couple things in mind. Number one being an Auror and I know what you’re going to say Potions is a requirement. Trust me I know. If that doesn’t work out though my second idea was to play Quidditch which we know I’d love to do for the rest of my life. Then my third option was to learn to become an alchemist but that’s not a very promising future even though I love the class and it’s one of my highest grades.” He explained knowing full well that Potions was going to be the end of him. David could believe that these tests he was going to be taking meant a lot and were a pretty big deal. He was truthfully already feeling the pressure even though he had been studying so far all summer. “I trust you… I’m just hoping that listening to my sister play twenty questions with me everyday which I swear is more like a hundred questions is actually worth it.” He said sighing as he thought about how if Chloe hadn’t gotten upset she would have still been asking him question after question. "You did work hard last year, I'll agree to that, and you were quite responsible. Now, you word it like you're mad at your sister, why?" She had heard that phrasing before, though usually when she overheard her own little brother. Not Terren, of course, as he never spoke ill of anyone, but Romulus. Romy had worded things in a way that told her she needed to step back and let him do his own thing for a while. Now for the fun part. David spoke of perspective future careers, Remy nodding along, thinking. "Well, Aurorship is hard work. Ask Heather on that one. She's gonna be an Auror too. But, from the bit I know of it, you don't need the Potions NEWT, though I'd say get it regardless. The NEWTs section on that application is just 'one has to have a minimum of five N.E.W.T.s in challenging subjects such as Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Charms, and Herbology, and no grade lower than "Exceeds Expectations" in any of these subjects.' That means you're going to need a lot of E's and O's. For Quidditch, yes, you don't need any NEWTs in specific, but what if you were to get seriously injured and be benched for life? Where's a back up then? Now for Alchemy. I know next to nothing on the subject, but if you're good at the class and you like it, it's something to consider." Remy snickered lightly at David's assurance of trust. "David, you say that like it's a bad thing. I wish someone would have made me study. I probably would have done a lot better if I had. Be grateful for her, David. I know, it sucks having to study, but, think of it this way. If it were me in Chloe's shoes, I would probably be a lot worse. I am just mean enough to throw books at people's heads. I never had to worry about it with Romy, since he's pretty good about studying all on his own. Though, that may or may not change, since he's got a girlfriend now.... Hmm..."ღMust I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?ღ ღThere's a heart that must be free to flyღ ღThat burns with a need to know the reason whyღ ღWhy must we all conceal what we think and how we feel?ღ ღMust there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?ღ ღI won't pretend that I'm someone else for all timeღ ღWhen will my reflection show who I am inside?ღ ღWhen will my reflection show who I am inside?ღ

Location: Leaky Cauldron David didn’t mean to make it sound like he was mad at his sister. Truth was he was fed up and annoyed about her treating him like a little kid. “I’m not mad just fed up with the way she treats me. It’s like she can’t see that I’m not a little kid anymore. We’re only a year apart and she makes it sound like I have no priorities at all, like I can’t make a grown up decision.” He explained. If only he realized that even he got on her nervous and that talking so highly of Remy made Chloe feel like she didn’t matter to him. Listening to Remy’s words of wisdom David was surprised to hear that Heather was going to be an Auror herself. “Really? Heather’s going to be an Auror. Never pictured that one to be honest.” He admitted before nod at the understanding that he didn’t necessarily need potions to become an Auror. It was a bit of a relief but Remy was right it was still good to have regardless. Then there was Quidditch and Remy was right there too what if he got injured and benched for life then what would he do? Jayden had that very problem now didn’t he… “Well I’m pretty sure I can get an E or higher the only ones I’m unsure about would be Astronomy, History of Magic, Potions, and Transfigurations. Although I think I have the theory down for Transfigurations it’s just the practical I’ll probably have trouble with depending on what I’m asked to do.” He told her feeling good at what he was at for the most part. He had Alchemy down and any of the spell classes well aside from Transfigurations. “And you’re right even if I play Quidditch I could get hurt and then I have nothing to fall back on. I guess that’s what my sister was trying to tell me when I said if I didn’t get my OWLs I’d just play Quidditch.” David seemed to listen to Remy even if she was saying the exact same thing Chloe was trying to say in the first place, now wonder she was fed up with him. “Well at least she doesn’t do that.” David said laughing a bit at get a book thrown at him. Yeah he couldn’t picture his sister ever doing that. Of course he couldn’t think of what was worst getting a book thrown at him or being chased around the house being asked a dozen questions. Shaking his head David sighed before remembering that Romy was dating Anna. “Oh yeah he’s with Anna I almost forgot about that. Well you can hope it doesn’t affect his studying I know it doesn’t affect me then again Shayna’s a Ravenclaw so she wouldn’t let me get away with not studying.” He said truthfully wishing he could catch a break. "You're right. You're not a little kid, and you're growing up.... but so is she. It's not easy, trust me. I do the same to Romy all the time, and he doesn't like it either. Hmm... think of Leo. She's your cousin, right? Well, when she hits fifteen and she thinks she's mature enough to handle everything, how are you going to feel? Are you honestly not going to be at all worried and protective?" Her gaze was soft, yet knowing. "Chloe's the same way, and, suffice it to say, I am too. We just go about it in different ways. You'll do the same some day, I bet." Remy nodded when David repeated that Heather was planning to be an Auror. He then spoke of his grades, and she went back to her thoughts. "Your sister is wise. Never rely on something like that, not 100%, at least. I mean, there's always the chance something will happen and you'll need, or maybe even want to have a different job. You never know." She smiled once more, knowing how much she was struggling to think of other jobs, in case she hadn't been accepted to Quidditch. At the boy's next words, she laughed lightly, then chimed in. "Yup. They're dating happily and it's adorably cute. I think Romy's excited because he finally found someone to help babysit Kerali." Her tone was teasing, knowing her brother really was sweet on the girl. It really was cute. Ever since Anna had left him with blank books to write in, she knew for a fact he'd mostly filled at least one. She vaguely wondered what he was writing, but knew it really wasn't her place to ask. Maybe Anna knew? ღMust I pretend that I'm someone else for all time?ღ ღThere's a heart that must be free to flyღ ღThat burns with a need to know the reason whyღ ღWhy must we all conceal what we think and how we feel?ღ ღMust there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?ღ ღI won't pretend that I'm someone else for all timeღ ღWhen will my reflection show who I am inside?ღ ღWhen will my reflection show who I am inside?ღ

Location: Leaky Cauldron Okay so Remy had a point but David deep down knew that Leonette acted more grown up then most kids her age. There was more to her then most people saw he knew that but even she he had to admit couldn’t handle everything. “Right.” He answered continuing to listen. “I guess you have a point although I think Leo is a special case.” He said. “I mean she’s more grown up then most taking care of her two sisters and pretty much being their mom.” He explained. “I’m not saying she could handle everything even I can’t handle everything but you’re right I would worry and I would want to protect her, even help her if I could.” He finished. “So I’ll give you that you’re right and you’d probably win that bet.”David snickered at Remy calling his sister wise. “Yeah she’s wise like a Ravenclaw.” He told her before nodding. “That’s true it is always good to keep your options open. You can never have enough windows of opportunity.” He agreed. Truth was you could spend your whole life wanting to do something and then realize you want to do something else. “That’s just the added bonus.” David told her. “There’s nothing better than liking someone, admitting your feels, and then finding out they feel the same way in return.” He would know about all he spent all his time with Shayna and when he told her how he felt he was so happy to hear she felt the same way. David had yet to find a feeling greater than that day, the only that that came close was when he was flying. Status: Happy With: Remy Wearing: Plain SummerOOC: ---

... David took a seat at a table near the center of the Leaky Cauldron not bothering to pull out a seat for Claire which was what he technically manners wise should have done even though it was a casual meeting. It wasn't like he had his mother looking over his shoulder or anything. He ordered two glasses of water, a hot cocoa for himself, and flipping through the menu settled on the Lancashire Hotpot-knowing a casserole wasn't the type of thing that he encountered much at home, or at least an edible one. His mother would try to cook casseroles once a blue moon but they were... not very good to say the least. "And anything else she wants," David ended his order with nodding to Claire without any ceremony. David was half curious if Claire would order the most expensive things on the menu just out of spite for him... not that he really cared one way or another. The more expensive the order she made probably the happier his mother would be. Like, his mother owed her anything else, David thought, glancing at the eye patch Claire wore and wondered if she had considered a prosthetic eye or even if she could get an eye replacement? The last was possible sometimes, even with vision restored. He frowned glancing away and remembered briefly that actually both Claire and his mother would have been dead if they hadn't been brought to the barn by someone he was pretty sure was an upperclassmen who he had seen with Claire's pink haired cousin before and more importantly the work of the mediwizard on the scene.

"Without your mask, You can't find yourself. What you confuse, for glory's fire. Is fire from the tongues of liars." Claire strolled as well through the door to the Leaky Cauldron, right after David did and noticed he didn't even bother pulling out a seat for her when they sat. Claire smirked some, she wouldn't have bothered either, so it was good. Taking her own seat opposite David she glanced at the menu, wondering what to get. Claire almost thought of ordering the most expensive dish...just to spite David, but that just seemed way to common for someone like her. Claire wasn't a child or anything. No matter how much the voice in her head insisted.
"...Fish and Chips...Some tea would be nice as well." Claire ordered as the person who took their orders walked off after nodding at the two of them. Claire then sighed again as she rubbed her head some, having voices in your head was annoying. Her gaze traveled to the other patrons in the bar, as she tried to quell the angry maelstrom in her mind. My feelings? I'm at ease you know? Precious thought of mine, "Hmm..." I'm a Slytherin. Did you know that I'm a second year? My strings are being pulled. "..." Out of character.

Ah Fish and Chips, no spite there I suppose. Can't get more Brittish of an order though. "I seem more of the American type?" David asked as the waiter left, a bit amused. "I'm actually quite the pacifist so that would mean I probably am more of a Madagascar or something in all this Cold War analogy... totally not even talked about or involved, but I can see you as a Russia."He took a breath and said, "Not that it is actually, any of my business, but you know you could have at least considered a fake eye. They make quite realistic ones... or is it that you prefer to face your injury? I know sometimes my Dad fixes injuries from different accidents... some people will ask for imperfections to be fixed in the process others want to make sure they are there. Is it the same thinking? Or have you just not considered it?"He paused as the waiter came back with their drinks and then left. He thanked the waiter and then turned his attention back to Claire and raised a brow as he waited for an answer.

"Without your mask, You can't find yourself. What you confuse, for glory's fire. Is fire from the tongues of liars." Claire looked up at David as he began to speak once more, continuing their conversation from earlier, "Well recluse are usually passive." She replied, before considering what David told her, "I'm Russia?" Claire mused for a while then nodded, "I could live with that." Though Claire wondered what was Russian about her. She really needed to learn of other countries.
Maybe it's because you're such a frigid and uncaring parasite?
Claire frowned at the voice's response, she was hoping it had quieted down some. Noticing the waiter come back with the drinks, Claire smiled some and began to sip her tea, very daintily, "A fake eye would be just as useless as an eye-patch." She frowned some, "Didn't your precious mother teach you better than to question a girl's imperfections?" She retorted, her voice taking on a bitter tone, as if warning David that he was treading on thin ice. My feelings? I'm annoyed you know? Precious thought of mine, "Why did he have to mention the eye?" I'm a Slytherin. Did you know that I'm a second year? My strings are being pulled. "..." Out of character.

Doesn't she know spitting back faults one admits about themselves really isn't a good way to insult one? "I was asking merely out of scientific curiosity. And perhaps it missed my etiquette lessons considering a sizable chunk of my family's wealth-that is my father's and my mother's- come from people questioning their imperfections. After all, my father is a plastic surgeon, and it considering he owns a quite renowned clinic specializing in such, we tend to host various parties so I suppose hearing clients of his talking about fixing their flaws makes me think it isn't such a taboo subject," He said with a shrug. "And, some fake eyes would be purely aesthetic of course, but there are various advances in medicine that it may be possible to restore sight or at least some sight in the eye depending on the nerve damage and what not," He said. "There are robotic options that do look real... and there could be the very slim possibility of a real eye replacement... the later is far more dangerous in some ways of course and perhaps the idea of borrowing parts from the dead does not sit well with you."He sighed and said, "Regardless, I apologize for my rudeness, though I'm surprised you actually are considering my opinion in regards to such a thing as looks anyways. It just seems like a waste not to at least investigate if repair could be done. And, all things considered if costs were the problem my family would pay, like I have mentioned my mother thinks she owes you something for some reason." He downed his glass of water, unceremoniously before saying with what sounded like a bit of honest concern, "You should focus on the water more since you did take a fairly high dose of Excedrin, which can cause ulcers or other stomach problems if you are not careful or prone to it..." He frowned as he glanced away staring at his hands and said quietly, "Considering I gave you the medicine in the first place, I'm partially responsible for side effects."

"Without your mask, You can't find yourself. What you confuse, for glory's fire. Is fire from the tongues of liars." Claire's gaze hardened even more at David's explanation for broaching the subject of her eye...or lack there of. While she did think of her missing eye as a flaw, a huge one actually, it was also a reminder of cruelty and she would never forget what creature inflicted this pain upon her, "..." Claire gazed at David for a bit before sighing, "You are talking like my cousin..." She growled some, the thought of Victor making her shake her head, "Which isn't a good thing, but I'm fine. I don't want any type of surgery near me."
What she just said was a complete lie of course, but Claire would never admit that to herself, "I'm surprised you are actually showing concern over me." She said with a smirk as she took a sip of her water, "None the less...It isn't like this is the first time I've taken this type of medicine." Claire mused a bit, it was interesting to watch the expression David showed, "I am half-blooded after all. My dad's a muggle, so he introduced the medicine to me...Not to mention my mom's a medical nurse for St. Mungo's and was also one when she visited the muggle world."
Maybe you're just too much of a a**-hat to become one? Stupid girl. You do need compassion after all, which is something your little black heart lacks.
Claire laughed harshly, "I guess I'm the black sheep of the family since I don't see the use in going towards the medical field." She then sighed, "Even stupid...Victor wants to become a Mediwizard." My feelings? I'm dark you know? Precious thought of mine, "What would be the point of helping others anyway?" I'm a Slytherin. Did you know that I'm a second year? My strings are being pulled. "..." Is it concern? Am I actually showing concern for her? That's a disturbing thought. "Your cousin? I'm sure that isn't a good thing in your book," David mused. "I thought you mentioned you didn't care for him... then again I don't think there are anyone you really like. Or at least that was always my impression. We generally don't interact so I suppose I could be wrong. I usually stick to my books, after all."He glanced up as the waiter brought their plates and left and he said, "Am I showing concern over you? Hmm... maybe I need to work on worsening my 'bed side manner'? The idea of me as a caring mediwizard at the bedside of my patients doesn't seem to fit the typical image of me, does it?" He ended with a short chuckle. "I'm more of the behind the scenes type... pull off something impressive but never show my face to the patient, right? Can't go ruin being a recluse, now."He frowned as he took a sip of his hot chocolate and said, "Black sheep? Hmm... so there's pressure to go into the medical field in your family? At least you don't have a family like my mother's side, they excommunicate members who would be black sheep of the the family."

"Without your mask, You can't find yourself. What you confuse, for glory's fire. Is fire from the tongues of liars." Claire looked up in thought, what were her true thoughts about Victor? She...didn't want to admit she cared for the rich frenchman, but...her true feelings were too mired in lies to really sift through. Though Claire could also not want to sift through her deepest thoughts, "I...Can't say I...Don't care for him." Claire started cautiously, as if she was thinking over every word she was going to say, "But I can't say I....care for him either." The witch sighed, "It's...complicated."
Nodding to the waiter, Claire moved her fish and chips around a bit, before grabbing a napkin and daintily placing it on her lap, she then rearranged the silverware and nodded, "Sarcasm suits you well." Claire stated with a small smirk towards David, she then sighed...she seemed to be doing that quite a bit, "There's not exactly pressure to go into the medical field. It's just something everyone in my family has done...or is about to do."
Claire frowned, "Almost like it's fate." At David's talk of what his family would do, Claire shook her head, "This is why I'm sort of glad I wasn't born pure-blooded." My feelings? I'm calm you know? Precious thought of mine, "Then again...Being pure-blooded would have it's advantages." I'm a Slytherin. Did you know that I'm a second year? My strings are being pulled. "..." Out of character.

Complicated... what family isn't? "Sarcasm?" David asked a bit confused. "I was at least half serious. I never pictured myself as a mediwizard or healer with good bed side manner. Like I said, I'm better with books than people.""I'm not one to believe in fate, particularly," David said, "it is more my mother who believes in that sort of thing. She insists running into my father again after so many years was fate, especially considering, my father had by that time assimilated into muggle life."He smiled, "I am half surprised my mother wasn't disowned for marrying my father, even though he is technically from an old pureblood family. Of course, she is given a little more leeway than many since she is the baby of the main line of the family. My father's family of course love my Mum because she actually is far better of a match than they could have hoped. But then again that's pureblood families who cling to dated dogma. And they wonder why my family avoids visiting more than once or twice a year, especially my father.""Actually some good came from my mother's injury," David said suddenly. "Dad put his foot down and declared that we weren't going to Tinworth to visit either side of the family. It was nice to have a quiet family holiday... though, I always wondered why he never actually forced his hand on such a thing. It isn't like either side of the family particularly cares for him. Who knows... maybe he tolerates it for the sake of Mum?" He shrugged with a half smile, not sure what to make of his parent's relationship. "Anyways, my family isn't that important... are you feeling any better?" David asked a bit concerned, changing the subject.
