The last round did not go well for Sethrian, thanks to his complete failure of a partner. She'd screwed up their first round, screwed up the second round just by her presence, and now they were in the running for dead last so he was hoping they could at least pick up some of the slack this round and finish...somewhere in the middle. Then he'd go home and sulk and vow to never speak to Vi again. Honestly, how could someone suck that badly at cooking?

So for this round, he was going to try to do something that she couldn't possibly screw up, and started on pumpkin, vanilla bean sorbet. Fortunately this kind of recipe was easy but also, since most people liked icecream, it also tended to be popular. Hopefully they'd score a little higher with the judges this time...

Pumpkin maple flan! Gray was totally going to nail this recipe! Maybe. Sort of.

He really didn't know. But he was going to try. As he began to prepare the recipe, Gray was surprised to see he was going to have to grind his own cinnamon. He supposed fresh spices were best, but really! At any rate, he broke the longer sticks and put them in a spice grinder, except one.

When he came to that one, he looked around in confusion. "Ah...I think I lost it..." he said, frowning. For now, he set the spices aside and reached for a bowl, cracking the egss into it one by one. When Gray cracked the last egg, what should fall out but...the missing bit of cinnamon stick!

"Oh dear...it's a bit slimey," Gray said, pulling a handkerchief out of his pocket as he fished out the cinnamon stick. He didn't really try to dry it off so much as simply wave the handkerchief over it to reveal.....a dry piece! So amazing!

Palming the gooey, eggy bit, along with the handkerchief, Gray went back to his maple flan and...and...it actually turned out pretty well.

A short time later, when he turned the finished dish to Zeke, he shot the other man a smile. "Well, we've made it this far. She's all yours now. Be gentle, my friend."

Wow! Just plain wow! Xeiro knew that his dish had been perfect, but he didn't imagine that it would be enough to land them into first place! When the standings were announced he did the first thing that came to his mind. He turned towards Tshila, placed both hands on her cheeks and kissed her. He dropped his hands soon after and kind of smiled at her. What was that even? Where had that come from? It's not like they had even won yet! There was still plenty of work to be done. "One more round." He smiled down at her before turning and looking at his station. It was just too bad that second place was creeping up on them so close. If it weren't a pretty little girl, he'd probably go over there and rough them up a bit to be sure that he sealed this round. Sadly, it was a girl and he would have to settle with cooking up something just as good as last time. He was a baker. Dessert was bound to be his strong point anyhow.

He grabbed for a bowl and began adding in ingredients and stirring it up as best he could. Unfortunately, the stuff was still a tad too lumpy when he had to move on to the next step. In a separate bowl, he tossed in some chocolate and creme and placed it in the microwave. After it was warmed, he began folding the chocolate mixture into the pumpkin mixture from earlier. He then began placing ladyfingers into a baking dish and poured the mixture on top. Next came another level of ladyfingers and more mixture. Finally, was the third layer of ladyfingers and the last bit of pumpkin mixture. He then covered it quickly and placed it into the refrigerator to allow the pumpkin-chocolate tiramisu to at least set a little before he needed to hand it over.

Once he was certain that he had no more time, he took it out, removed the wrap and passed it over to Tshila to hopefully fix. Oh man how he had wished that he would've made sure to mix it up better. He could see the lumps of sugar from where he was standing. "We can do it." That may have been a little bit more for him than for her.

K-Kiss! Tshila's face warmed up nicely when Xeiro actually kissed her. Wow. The way to a man's heart really was his stomach. Sort of. It wasn't like he was eating her food but she was glad that they were doing so well, he seemed to be really pleased. He released her almost right away (boo!) and went straight away to feverishly working on an amazing looking desert. She just stood alongside him watching him and, for the first time, she was actually not watching his muscles, but his face and expression. She chewed her lip as she studied his profile, unaware she was smiling slightly. He had such a determined look on his face.

Heh. He was totally sooo much older than she was--he had all those fine lines on his face, and faint streaks of silver in his hair...but...damn. She really just did not care at all, just then.

In fact, when he handed that awesome looking tiramisu, her hands were still trembling just a little (what? It was a nice kiss!), which made it a little hard to get it just right, but it didn't look too bad. Really, unless she dropped it and stepped on it, it would still look delicious. As it was, her pieces were just a bit wobbly. She got it all set up and ready for the judges, before she reached up to Xeiro and pulled him down to land another quick kiss.

"Well, regardless how it turns out, you're totally amazing, know what I mean?"

Ah it was finally round 3 and, in all honesty, they weren't doing that bad. Sure, it didn't look like they were going to win or anything, but at least they hadn't been eliminated! That said something, right? He began to laugh as he watched Gray. All this magic was simply too much fun! He could definitely see that they were going to be great friends. "I'm glad that you found it!" He said with a smile while eagerly awaiting the finished product. While he waited, he pulled out a coin out of his pocket and rolled it over his knuckles. He then held it carefully between his fingers before rubbing it. Then, out of nowhere, two larger coins appeared in his hand! Though there wasn't much time to stand in awe of himself, as he needed to get to work on prettying up the flan. It actually looked really good! "Good work, Gray! I'll be gentle." He couldn't resist a little laugh there.

He carefully took some caramel and drizzled it over the flan. Oh, shoot. He had poured a little too much. Not that caramel was a bad thing! Maybe it would be overly wonderfully sweet. "I guess all we can do now is cross our fingers." He smiled, though he felt a little jittery under the smile.

They weren't doing to bad, which had resolved Keith's mood a bit. Sure, they weren't doing great, but when he thought about it, anything was better than ending up in third place again. Still, he wanted to do good and win that festival. If he had just wanted to do poorly, he wouldn't have showed up at all. That was lame. And if there was one thing he hated the most in the world, that is other than a certain blonde girl he was sort-of-reated too (he had never bothered learning the exact name of their relation), it was to be lame.

However, he wasn't sure how good exactly he could be. Desert had never been his strong point. Whenever he felt like desert, he would just buy one of those one dollar cake mix and do that.... and then not even bother to cook it and just eat the batter instead because ******** it. That's why. That was also why he was making something simple this time, preffering to go for something secure, rather than something flashy. At least Pumpkin Cake Rolls where easy to make and while, sure, they weren't ALL the exact same size, it was still pretty damn good. No one would notice that little detail, right? Now all that was left to do was for Conor to make it look cool and they would win! Or at least end up in the top 5, but not third. Nope.

Had they just said that they had... thirty fives as their points after round? Five times thirty made... Oh dear Goddess. That gave them a big 150pts! and all the rest of the contestants were still in the doube digits. Good thing they were trying to lay low... But it wasn't their fault that cooking was so easy for the Sonatas! It was the genetic memory and all. Maybe they shouldn't have joined at all.... Oh, what were they supposed to do. He turned around, looking at his sister, his hair flowing in the air, his skin shining under the sun and his eyes teary from that sudden realization. "S-sister... what have we done. They are all under the spell of Le Pumpkin. They will not be able to ever eat anything else ever again. They will starve and then... and then... we wil have to do the chores ourselves. Like... like... opening doors. And walking to places." He had tried opening the door once, when he was twelve. And no matter how much he pulled and pulled, he could never get it to open. And walking was just too tiresome. This was work for servants, not for a Sonata. Even him could admit to that.

"We have to correct this wrong! There's ought to be a solution! How can we make them forget? What could possibly fog up their brains?" And just as he said these words, his eyes widen with the sudden realization that he had the answer all along! What they had to do was give them a brain freeze! they had to make some pumpkin flavoured icecream, so the brain freeze knew to affect everything pumpkin related!

Forth place? "The Goddess smiles upon us!" She declared to her cooking partner, whatever he name may be! In fact, she should give her a name. She tilted her head slightly, pondering what could be her name. He real name. The name that the Goddess had blessed her with. Aaaaah~ Yes. She could see it now! It was right there! Shining over her, like a shooting star. "You are Citlalmina" She told her, with as smile on her lips, as someone would have just announced to someone that they were a brunette. But there wold be time to get to know each other better later. For now, she had a desert to make. She wouldn't need to make anything special like she had been doing previously. This time, she could cook a very simple, normal desert. Nothing too complicated or fancy. Just a souffle.
