As the creature came spinning towards Chilia, it realized what would happen but was unable to stop itself. It slammed into Chilia's blade, pushing her backwards. But as each tentacle hit her blade it was sheared clean off and in a matter of moments the attacking monster had lost all its remaining tentacles. It made a bizarre screaming sound as it lost its appendages, drenching Chilia in blood. Chilia's blade had halted its advance and the disembodied head now floated tentacle-less in front of her. "Ewww!" Fleur said, staring at Chilia covered in blood. How DARE you! The creature yelled in their heads. As soon as it did so, it opened its beak releasing a massive sonic attack at Chilia at point-blank range.

The creature opened its mouth to fire again but instead it got a backfull of Fleur's crystal rockets. Its aim was thrown off and it accidentally fired up at the ceiling, causing a large chunk of it to come down, slamming on top of the beast. It let out a gurgled rasp as Fleur laughed hysterically. "It crushed itself!" She said between laughs, gasping for air. Just then the creature used its teleportation ability, appearing directly behind Fleur. It opened its mouth and fired another sonic wave, hitting Fleur and sending her flying towards Chila. She landed in the same hole Chilia was, landing on her back next to her. "It can teleport!?" She asked in surprise, not having been there the first time it had done so. The creature floated towards them, clearly close to death and gasping for air. I will end you... it promised them before firing its largest sonic blast yet towards the two.

As the sound wave reached them, Fleur recreated her crystal shield, which took the brunt of the damage to her. The blast was so strong the shield quickly shattered and Fleur was blown backwards as well, but the shield had absorbed enough damage that she was able to land on her feet. The creature was unable to avoid the wolf's slash and the effect on the already wounded creature was devastating. Having already had open wounds all over it, the slashes cut them wider and deeper, the closeness of the blast causing the creature to spin sideways into the ground. It lay there silently. It was clearly still breathing but seemed unable to get up. "Take that!" Cheered Fleur as if she had delivered the finishing blow herself. "Chilia stop laying around! Let's kill it and get back to the pit! That bigger thing is still gonna come out. It's almost here!" The creature was rasping and there was a buzzing in their minds as if it was trying to say something, but it was too weak to.

The creature hissed weakly as Chilia stabbed her rapier into it. You can't....even...begin to...understand... it warned them. I cannot die and neither can...my master. Your futile actions....are but a drop in the.....sea of our conscious....ness. We will....be back again....another time.....another place. ...You cannot....stop what will be... The creature gave one final hiss and stopped moving. Fleur looked down at it, hands on her hips. "That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen," she said. She looked over at Chilia. "Now we....huh?" The creature slowly began to dissolve into nothingness, leaving a strange-looking device behind.



Fleur bent down and picked it up, looking at it for a moment before handing it to Chilia. "We should probably take this with us," she told her.

As they walked back into the main pit chamber, it became evident that Faye and Fleur had been busy during Chilia's absence. Most of the townpeople were dead, and Faye was defiantly staring down the handful that remained. The pit, however, was still open and the whole room rumbled again as the creature pulled closer. "Yeah...we lost Jacob," Fleur told Chila. "We need to find a way to close the pit before it gets out..."

"As in whatever happens down there," Fleur explained of Jacob's fate, pointing to the pit. "That's a good idea. Maybe we should-" just then the pit rumbled again. "We need to figure out what to do with it," Fleur told Chilia, looking at the strange artifact.

Faye looked over at Chilia as she addressed her, arms folded. "Yeah, it put some visions in my head as we linked up for a second or something. It's looking for some kind of trinket. It wants it for some reason though I don't know why. What happened to the Mayor?" She asked. She seemed calm despite the situation.
