One of the Harvester's guns abruptly stopped firing as Kaoru stuck his blade into the barrel of it. This got the Harvester's full attention. It looked down at Kaoru and one could almost imagine the glare it was giving him. "What are you doing!?" Cried Misa from where she was standing behind the boxes. "That thing is gonna murder you!" She fired a few more sonic blasts towards the creature and blew off a few more chunks of its armor, but it seemed more focused on Kaoru than her at the moment. Suddenly the two top scythes on the creature's back extended upwards and then forwards. Now they were long enough to attack. In a flash they both came down towards Kaoru, aiming to pierce him, one through each shoulder. The creature roared in his face as the scythes came, seemingly eager to run him through.

"Hmph, you better have something good planned, Rei. That thing cut me, and no one cuts Kaoru the Great and gets away with it!" Kaoru said as he concentrated and became to blades once again. "He moves pretty slowly, so we should be fine if we can rip him apart with our speed. Especially since I'm gonna use my speed transfusion." Kaoru stated to Rei. "Just make sure you watch where you're going, or you'll be smeared on a wall." He warned as all of the pain that he and Rei felt was now being used to greatly enhance their speed.

As Rei channeled her wavelength into the Harvester's body, it began to shake and spasm, shrieking in anger as it whirled around. It's guns fired in all directions, prompting the girls to seek cover. The Harvester pulled back, shrieking one last time before its central core overloaded, causing it to explode sending black shards of metal and viscous orange fluid in every direction. When the smoke cleared, the Harvester was nothing but a pile of scrap metal and broken machine parts. "That takes care of that then," Reilly said with a small smile as she stood to her feet and hefted her gun onto her shoulder. Tessa recalled Cinder into her disk and Misa came out from the crates she had taken cover behind. "No time to rest just yet," Misa said just as the elevator came to a stop. They had reached the 42nd floor. Now they needed to find an alternate path down one level to the generator. As the massive freight door to the elevator slowly pulled open, someone was waiting for them on the other side.



The girls seemed to recognize her right away and seemed none too pleased to see her. "Dust..." Misa said, a frown forming on her face. "I knew you'd come here..." Dust replied, her voice dull and monotone. Despite her empty expression, there seemed to be a hint of sadness behind her eyes. The large circular device that was with her whirled quietly as it waited in standby mode. Her tail was quietly swinging back and forth behind her as she watched the group. "Wh-what are you doing here?" Tessa asked quietly. "I think you know what I'm doing here," Dust replied simply. "Wasting your time. We're not coming back and you're not stopping us," Reilly cut in. "You shouldn't have come back here. I didn't want to fight you." Dust shook her head slowly. "Y-you don't have to. We were friends..." Tessa spoke up. "That's long gone. She betrayed us when she decided to stay with the Doctor instead of escaping with us. She's an enemy now." Dust said nothing. The machine behind her began whirring louder, coming to life. "I see you brought friends. They won't be escaping either."

Illo had less time than he expected to react to the barrage of bullets the beast sprayed at him. He teleported out of the way in the niche of time to avoid serious injury, but was grazed in the arm by one of the bullets. Illo looked at his arm, then at Misa, who looked scared. turning his head, he noticed the creature already had a bead on him and was firing again. With that he began to jump around the room, watching the harvester adjust to his position with relative ease.
It gave him time to think, How is this going to work? He won't stop following me... The thing can't even see! I wonder...
Illo teleported with less time in between, fractions of seconds that should be irrecognizable to even the most sophisticated sensors. He did this so that the thunderclaps that were produced from the warps were blended together into one, indistinguishable rumble. He needed just a couple seconds of hesitation to power up a blast that could crush the creature, and as the rolling thunder continued Illo waited quietly at the far end of the room. He began to wonder if Misa could hear his teleportation.

Dust looked over at Rei when she spoke. "I'm sorry, but that's not an option," she told her solemnly. "You surrender or die." Misa smirked at Dust. "Well in your case it's only die. Traitor." Dust looked back at Misa, her grim look becoming just slightly more grim. "Fair enough." The red lights on the machine behind her began to glow brightly as it began to spin. "Ashes to ashes...." Dust said slowly. "Look out!!" Yelled Reilly as a mass of dust suddenly exploded from the machine, obscuring the entire area. "She uses the dust as a cover!" Misa yelled to Rei and Kaoru from somewhere in the smoke. "It makes us practically blind but she can see through it like it's not even there!" There was a slight humming sound before tiny grey darts propelled by smoke came streaking out of the mist. Several were headed straight towards Rei and Kaoru, their red lights glowing evilly as they came.
