There were other folks at the table, and he couldn't exactly leave for just a single person, so despite the circumstances, he indicated with a nod. Dealing the next hand, the old coot loner on the left had a face up 8, the slob to the right had a Jack, and the middle (Elizabeth) had a face up 4, with a down facing 8. "Place your bets, folks, and I may give information if you win!" The dealer's face up card was a 6.

The leftie busted too, showing 26. Righty was getting all chipper with his face up 4, while a single new 9 showed up at Elizabeth's place.
