Despite her small stature, the red-furred leader's pose exuberated confidence, calming Frostridge's concerns. They would know how to hunt it. It was not an altered, she had to keep reminding herself- she tried not to flinch as she observed its thorny crown.
Frostridge suddenly felt exhausted and sank to the ground, praying she would be forgiven for her weakness. Her biotic mainframe had long since shutdown, devoting her last scraps of energy to her necessary vital functions and leaving her a normal wolf. She felt exposed and weak- she had to recuperate or she would simply not make it.
She hoped the three would be enough to take down the large beast, for there was nothing left in her to give.

Streak noticed that spots had paused awaiting his passage through the gap. He nodded as he continued forward to poke his head through. His pushed through wiggling and slithering until he popped out on the other side. His eyes took in the amazing view almost shocked to see life once again. This place seemed untouched by time as he signaled to Scarlett with his unilaterally long tail for her to come in. Padding forward he noticed the poor white wolf had exhausted herself to the point of collapse. He crouched low next to her and watched as bullet approached the beast that Frost explained before. "Rest, now." Streak said to the female softly with a tone of reassurance. "We'll take it from here." He crept forward, his streaked fur hidden among the camouflage of the tall grass. He stopped alongside the red furred wolf and awaited the arrival of his female, color counterpart.

He stopped alongside the red furred wolf and awaited the arrival of his female, color counterpart. His close proximity had made the sense of fear flinch within her, but she noticed how it had lessened, even if only slightly. The tone of his words were reassuring and kind- She could even recognize a word or two. It seemed they were not upset with her failure to contribute more to their mission. She could only watch blearily as they moved; she felt sleepy, but watched with interest and the way they so easily snapped to a formation. It made her curious to see how members of her race hunted as their ancestors had. The efficiency of their movements reminded her of past missions with her teammates, the same accommodating for each members strengths and weaknesses, all for the common goal, the mission objective. Some part of her felt pride that at least in this, the human's had not been the most guiding influence for her team's success... it appeared that it was simply in their blood. Her vision was darkening as her body slowly began to succumb to the strain; almost absetnmindedly, she wondered if she would wake up this time- her head drooped down and before she had even realized it, she was asleep.

Scarlett moved into formation with the female alpha and the male. This wouldn't be too difficult for the three of them. As the cold female took a nap Scarlett had to fight back her thoughts. She couldn't let her loathing of humans distract her from real food. "I was trained to race, I'll chase them down and find the weakest. I'll need both your help to bring it down though." Scarlett spoke as she walked past them. Moving into stealth was too easy with the tall bladed grass. Standing straight only her head would appear over it. Scarlett moved slowly until she was close enough to hear their hearts beating next to her. The prey knew the wolves had come for them. Like white lightning Scarlett flew out of the grass frightening the large animals. Weaving in and out, slowing down to give them hope just to pick up speed and be right behind them again. After a good while of chasing them Scarlett picked out a large buck. The sprawling silvery crown upon his head showed he was an elder, he was nearing his natural time. Blocking him from rejoining his heard he had no choice but to keep running. The heard left him behind as they passed along the lake and onto safety. Scarlett moved him back near the other wolves. He was getting tired, beginning to slow down. Scarlett too was reaching her limit. Even though the humans raced her alongside greyhounds, the races weren't long lasting. The buck began to limp, he must have twisted his leg funny. He was good as dead now. Fairly close to the others now, Scarlett tried to dart to the other side of him but the creature was still aware. He put all his remaining strength into his rear legs, a sharp curved hoof met her skull. It through her back and she laid in the grass for a moment. Catching her breath quickly she gave no mercy now. Her legs sent her flying through the grass and she locked her jaws into his rear leg. Fangs sunk deep into the pelt. Putting all her weight into the movements she shook her head violently. Sparks of pain streamed across her eyes. The others would come and finish the job. Her sight began to get spotty, thankfully the beast wasn’t fighting to much anymore. He had accepted his fate, he knew death would find him soon.

Streak sprung from cover and maneuvered around to lunge at the poor beast side. He landed on his back digging his claws in deep and using his long tail as a counter balance to keep steady. He wanted to end this quickly seeing that Scarlett had taken a blow to the head. His weight soon collapsed the bull as he sunk his teeth into the back of his neck. It's struggle lessened as it accepted it's fate.He kept his jaws clamped tightly as he shook his head viciously drawing blood which pooled in his mouth and down his throat. All that was needed now was a blow to the jugular and this meal was theirs. His eyes shifted over to his alpha for this.

Bullet watched the spotted wolf with awe. She would have never pinned such a large wolf to be that fast moving. The buck kicked her and sent Bullet flying down the hill. Scarlett got up fast and got back to the elk. Fangs clamped into flesh from the white one. Bullet was right there, she locked her jaws in the animal's throat and pulled it's head to the ground. It was old, and seemed to accept it's death. Still it tried to stand, to shake them off, but they had a good grip and wouldn't let go until the thing was dead. Her teeth sunk deep and soon punctured the best main vain. A final breath and the body went still.

Once the heart stopped beating Scarlett released her jaws. Sitting down felt nice, laying down felt better. Alphas eat first anyway, she would take a minute to regain her strength and clear her vision.
It didn’t take long for the pain to ease away, it still hurt, but she would be able to ignore it. Scarlett waited for the others to eat and to begin hulling the remaining meat back to the others. Being a part of a pack again was still a strange feeling. Somehow this small event made her feel better about being in a pack.

Haulting at the slick gap with-in the heightened gravel, Subliminal curiously scented it. They went through here that's for sure.. He thought contently. Sizing up his muscular build then peering back over at the gap, he couldn't help but realize he wouldn't fit, let alone risk getting stuck. Suspiring faintly, he back-stepped a tad; options slowly rising to nothing. The scent of water and elk teased his abdominal region chantly and couldn't help but look at Loki. "Listen.. I don't know if you can understand me but, this is where our roads split. The other wolves are just past this crevace here," He motioned to it with his nares, " Inside, you'll come across other gifted wolves such as yourself.. I hope. Stay with them, i'm sure they wouldn't turn something like you down." His labrums slanted downward, the pup meant nothing but, sentiment got the better of him. "Be safe, Kid. Maybe i'll meet you when you're all grown up and not so.. Messy." He chuckled briefly recalling the urination he'd so reighteously received.
Loki finally seeming to grasp Subliminals dialogue, he bolted toward the brute whilst glissading his zenith against his chest, or what he could reach anyways. "Me miss you." Lokis eyes watered a tad as if he had just lost yet another friend. Curiously sniffing at the crevace, Loki looked back at the brute once more before slipping in, and began searching for the wolves.
Subliminal grunted faintly as an attempt to shake the emotion off. Better alert them just incase.. That pups nose probably isn't to good.. Planting his pedestals firmly against the surprisingly moist foliage, he tilted his craniul cavity back and emitted a howl that he'd hope to sweep the other side with faciley. Doing all he can do given his state, he lapped up the sorry excuses for puddles, and persisted to find a descent meal deep with-in the forrestrial realm; leaving the encounter with the pack for another time.

Bullet pulled some meat off the leg of the animal. "I'll bring this to our tired friend, I'm sure she is in need of it. You guys eat up for our journey back, whatever is left we take with us for the other." She spoke with more command than earlier. She never was an alpha, or any type of leader before, somehow the feeling that she needed to take care of everyone just naturally came to her. Bullet lifted her head as a howl met her ears. The sender wasn't a wolf she knew, yet the call wasn't a warning. Bullet was half way up the hill, someone was trying to let them know they were there. She looked back to the others, "I don't think he can get in, we should be safe if he isn't friendly." With that she moved further up the hill until she found the sleeping wolf. Bullet figured she needed rest and wouldn't wake her until they were set to leave. Placing the chunk of meat in front of her noise then went back down to her meal.

Scarlett's head began to hurt again, a howl from the other side of the stone wall. She lifted her head, it sounded vaguely familiar. Standing up wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. Subliminal was on the other side of the wall, but why would he fallow them here? Moving up the hill side took longer than it should have, her legs were still tired from the chase. At the top of the hill Bullet was leaving a piece of meat for the other white one. Bullet didn't seem to care what the male wanted on the other side as she quickly turned and ran back down the hill. Once at the top Scarlett went to the slim entrance. No one could be seen, maybe she was hearing things. Her nose twitched as she sniffed at the entrance, sure enough some other wolf had come through here. It had the scent of a pup, and a hint of Subliminal's scent as well. Fancy fur must not of wanted to take care of it, she thought to herself.
Scarlett had two pups of her own many years back, she didn't know where they were now. She lifted her head to the moon, are they even alive anymore? She didn't want to think about that, they made their own choices now. With a huff of frustrated sadness she looked around for the new comer. Not even positive there was a pup around, Scarlett was already going into over protective mother mode.
Fallowing the scent from the opening lead her to the rump of a pup. A slim smile pulled across her maw. Scarlett was going lifted her head and returned the howl, but that could scare the pup. Laying down behind the curious young Scarlett bumped him with her nose, unsure he could communicate with words yet.

Streak backed away not interested in the kill until the alphas had their fill. He followed bullets small black an red figure until she left a piece of the kill for the resting white furred female and turned back. His curiosity peeked when the howl arose from the other side of the wall and he saw Scarlett moving in that direction so he followed her to check on her since she was fatigued from the hunt. He finally caught up to her to see her crouched in the grass. A small figure lay in front of her yet Streak's mind hadn't quite figured what it was in the tall grass, yet. "Hey spots? You okay over here?" He asked slowly padding forward to get a better look.

Bad Blood - Bullet Bullet pulled some meat off the leg of the animal. The smell of blood made Frost's eyes snap open- The red-furred female dropped a large chunk of flesh before her; her eyes bright. For one sleep-hazed moment, she had nearly attacked, then remembered all that had occurred. Without delay, she tore into the precious gift; the feel of big solid chunks of still warm meat sliding down her greedy gullet was euphorous. Within a second she had completely eaten the rather large offering. Strength from the food now stretching her starved belly flowed out to her every nerve, rekindling the flame of life within her that had begun to dwindle. She sat a moment to recover, feeling her biotics once more sputter to life- Still tired, still injured, but not nearly as weak as before, she stood up with much less effort then before. A strange feeling of loyalty for her new leader was sprouting in her chest- She padded down the hill to where the large kill had been left, still uneaten. Puzzled at first, it occurred to her that perhaps these were intended for the others they had left behind... Frostridge drew her blade and silently began to split the carcass into more easily manageable parts- An idea of how to carry them was blossoming in her head. She looked around for a moment, before her eyes lit on a large dead tree- The inside had been completely hollowed out by decay, leaving a long half-tube like shape. She went over and flipped it, before setting herself to task- she scraped the bits of rotten wood off with her weapon leaving behind a trough like sled, before giving a hard jerk and burying the blade deep into the wood on one end, lodging it securely. Her mouth still on the handle, she slid a canine expertly into the slotted gap- a tiny click and she drew it away like a second skin, a long chain coming along with it before looping it back through the hole she had made to create a sort of harness. She set it on the ground and admired her handiwork. It was a pretty crude sled, but would carry much more then each of them individually. She began to load a few pieces of meat onto it, glancing at the others to see if he understood what she was doing- And suddenly feeling very self conscious with how decidedly "un-wolf" like her solution was.

She noticed that the three had gathered around where they had come in- curious, she padded up hesitantly. A new scent hit her nose and she was suddenly on full alert- With cautious steps, she approached behind them.

Scarlett looked over her shoulder to the streaked one, "My name is Scarlett, not spots,"she said with a sigh. " The wolf I traveled with earlier seems to have abandoned someone with us." She looked down at the pup again, she had already decided she would be the one to take care of him. He was her second chance. Scarlett forced herself to stay relaxed as human-smells came near. She looked over to her, the wolf just seemed curious. Scarlett was self conflicted about that wolf. They were similar; both from human villages. She just wasn't ready to be that close to her past again. Something snapped in Scarlett's head, She's here for the wolves, she wants to take everyone to the humans, she will cause our deaths. It wasn't her own thoughts. Surprised at her head she needed to get away from the wolf. Standing up she bumped the puppy on the rump, "Let's go get some food kid." He might get lost in this tall grass, Moving herself over him she bent her neck and picked the pup up. She didn't lift him high off the ground, not knowing anything about him she wasn't sure if he would be scared. If he stayed calm Scarlett would walk him down to the meat, if he didn't want to be carried then she would lead him down.

Sensitive to the touch, Loki coiled his banner between his hinds when he was lifted off the ground, worried that he had ran into the wrong wolves and ached for Subliminals guidance. After a short brief moment of 'whining' Loki had calmed and instead giggled faintly as he observed his paws dangle above the ground. Slowly becoming comfortable with the femme that seem to have taken ownership of him, he tempted to turn his zenith and faintly bite at her auditives feeling wrather playful again. .:Subliminal:. Tympanic cavity erected once a familiar howl had penetrated his drums. He couldn't help smile gratefully once he realized Scarlett had taken charge of the so called 'burden'. Best of luck, Scarlett.. He chuckled faintly as her name rang through the brutes medula. "Lets' hope we meet again.." He'd muttered meekly not sure if he'd live past that 'day' if the scarcity of food continued as it was. As a crisp cool ambient breeze bristled through his obsidian-hued coat, he scented a bird, one that seemed to be injured. It'll have to do.. he shrugged the thought off and persisted to advance. With his gait steady, the brute had finally reached a Robin. Nudging it with his proboscis, the bird that was presumed dead flailed wildy. Disgusted at the meat capacity, he held the creature down with his fore-paw and clenched his maw around its' abdominal; carefully feasting for the first-time in two days.
