And just as she thought she was in the clear... someone she didn't know approached. Drats... normally she'd be all for some conversation, and the like, but after such a terrible defeat... she wasn't really feeling it.
She also didn't want to admit it, but she was more that a little worse for the wear from the assignment, having barely hung on after all the miasma had been sapped from her, as well as the viscous swamp monsters went after her without mercy. But, she mustered up a grin, and held her head level as Lifen approached. She didn't want some stranger seeing her in a disgruntled state. Flipping her heavy bangs out the way, Verusha gave a light shake of her head, "I think I'll be alright, but thanks." she shifted her gaze to the little soul in question, crooking a curious brow, "Is this another Silver kingdom member?" she asked. There couldn't help but be a bit of sorrow in her usually carefree tone. To lose their home like that... she couldn't even imagine...

The empress would not help him end his life. It was only fair, he couldn't ask her to sully her hands with his worthless blood. The other, foreign lady who stepped on him, however.. "Hello, love." Bastion's smooth voice slithered out as his eyes opened. "Am I a comfortable fit to your weary feet?" He felt the wet droplets hit him, washing away the dust that had accumulated on his body. "If you can find any other uses for my body, I am wholly at your service." Well. That was a fast recovery.

The return with the miasma was not exactly easy. There were still to many underpowered questions, too many twists and turns, and now, figures unknown had entered the picture. It was vaguely distressing given that silver's people had scattered. If the silver king had fallen why did it leave such a thing behind? More so, the items. She'd need to discuss this with the others, and with her king as soon as she could.

Mjoll walked back into the kingdom looking a little worse for wear. Her clothing was tattered, there were a few blood stains that had blossomed out like watercolor paint on her shirt as well. Her hair was still wet as was the shirt, and her hair looked a mess too despite still being in a braided bun. Frizzy.
Mjoll sighed and just ended up sitting down on the nearest bench or step she could find. That was exhausting her clothing was feeling stiff as it was drying from the water. She glanced to Lan, and then around to everyone else. If the fall of the Silver Kingdom was any indication... well it just wasn't going to be good.

When he arrived back into his kingdom, stepping out of the gilded front doors of his castle, it was to find that those he had sent elsewhere had, for the most part, returned - and most of them looked a little worse for the wear. Mengyao descended the steps a little quicker than usual, his golden robes billowing out behind him, though he kept up his calm facade, in spite of the fact that his heart seemed to seize in his chest.
Where is she?
He couldn't see her at first glance, but there were many who were in need of help. Mengyao swept through the throngs of people, carefully taking note of them, of who would require medical attention, who would need to rest and regain their strength.
Mjoll stood - or rather, slumped - on a nearby bench, looking as though she had just gone through a warzone - which, if he thought about it, she probably had. Mengyao's jaw tightened a little.
"What happened?" he asked her.

She hadn't noticed his approach, in fact the king startled her a little bit; causing her to jump. "Sir," She stood up trying not to wince and gave a stiff bow.
"The Silver tower collapsed on us." She answered, "Lan, Shaheen, Kiwi, I don't know who else was with us.... but I believe we're all fine." That last part was a half truth at best.
There was a small pause, "We ended up in a cavern under the tower, it was filled with jewels and water. There was a weird gate and a chalice..."
She was trying to figure out how best to answer the question, "We've gotten some information that might be well useful..."

Scarlett said nothing as her king's orders were issued. The voice had spoken and so had he. She took one moment to steal herself, drawing in a deep breath. Then, with one hand placed across the breast of her vest, where her emblem still shone, she left to make her kingdom proud.

He frowned a little. The Silver Tower collapsing brought with it a whole series of new questions, questions he could not answer, nor could he even say in front of his subjects. Beneath his sleeves, his fingers brushed against the golden mark on his own skin, one on the inside of each of his wrists and trailing downwards, gold spreading across his arm. A mark of the pride he had in his kingdom.
It was a relief to hear that they were all right, but as Mengyao scanned the crowd, he could not see any of them. The worry increased marginally, and Mengyao turned back to Mjoll, caught by her last words.
A gate?
He thought of the Kings' meeting and pressed his lips together tensely.
"What sort of information?" he asked.

Madison was in a sour mood - she felt foul, filthy from the dust of the Silver Kingdom and stained by her own blood, injuries sustained during her exploration. She had only brought back the tiniest of spoils for her Emperor.
At least the others who had been in the Tower looked as well worn as she did... which was some small, if hugely petty, comfort. Madison sighed and scrubbed at her face with both hands, trying to regain her composure. Failure - or close to it - made her feel so pathetically weak.

Mjoll watched Mengyao as he looked around, she was sure Lan and the others were here somewhere, maybe getting tended to. "I'm sure they're here, maybe just stopped to be tended to or resting." She said softly.
She pause when he asked what sort of information, "It was more like a story... but, there maybe use of it. It was told by a woman from inside the Chalice I think, I'd never heard her voice before..."
Mjoll closed her eyes and tried to best remember the story so she could relate it the best she could.
""There once was a Great King, who ruled a Great Kingdom, and fought a Great War. Like all legacies, he too perished, but left with behind items of unfathomable power.
A weapon forged from purest light, the strongest symbol of protection.
A throne made of purest power, the strongest symbol of pride.
An amulet made of purest energy, the strongest symbol of creation
A tome made of purest knowledge, the strongest symbol of destruction.
A staff made of purest darkness, the strongest symbol of revenge.
A fountain made of purest water, the strongest symbol of his grief.
A casket made of purest void, the strongest symbol of his reflection.
They were scattered through time, and the Great King forgotten. They and they alone would however, not forget his legacy."
When Mjoll finished relating the story she looked at her Emperor, "The others may have gotten more information. As there seemed to be different things going on in different places - but I couldn't catch everything going on around me." She bowed, "Sorry." She added apologizing for not being able to get everything.

Scarlett had no idea what had happened after she fell into the pit. She simply woke up in her kingdom once more, carrying new scars and a wounded ego.
She eventually found the courage to head back to the gathering before the King, lime eyes a little downcast as she reentered the throng. Some looked worse than her, some better, but she sincerely doubted anyone had made as much of a fool of themselves as she had.
Her layers of skirts were nowhere insight, including her treasured skirt of red cloth. They'd been lost in the pit in an effort to escape the creature that had only managed to win in the end. She mourned the loss of one of her few expensive pieces. The tails of her long shirt managed to barely cover what her black stockings did not, though glimpses of her thighs shown through as she walked. Her shirt itself was ripped open on the side, exposing two fresh scars that had somehow healed themselves before she arrived. Jagged teeth marks were visible in two semi-circles, criss-crossing one another. She was dry, but her white hair was stained with a filmy, sooty darkness and disheveled, like it had been wet recently.
But her vest was intact, as was the emblem shining bright across one side. She was still a member of the Gold kingdom, even if she felt like the weakest link.
"I'm back, your grace," she said, softly, but directly towards her leader, "the Valley is.. not a kind place."

Oh she had a right nasty headache forming. But... strangely enough, she seemed to have managed to gather exactly what she'd been sent there for. How that had happened... Fini had no friggin idea. And she was not going to question it. It hurt too much to think that hard.
"Precious, try not to move too much." Vashi didn't release his hold on her until he was positive she could stand on her own.
"I'm alright, Vashi. You've done enough for now." Fini said with a crooked grin.
"Are you sure?" With her nod, he pressed a quick, affectionate kiss to her forehead before fading away.
Groaning faintly as she attempted to move, Fini spotted their Empress. She looked to be in about the same shape as the rest of them. But at least she was back in one piece. As were most of them. She sighed at that, letting her gaze travel around until it fell on a familiar form. She was moving towards the figure before really thinking on it, wanting to make sure she was alright.
"Lan." Fini said quietly as she approached. "Are you alright?"

Everything hurt when she reappeared. Even things she didn't think could hurt, hurt.
If she hadn't had to will to stop herself Meixiang may have wretched from the intensity of it all. And that would've been embarrassing. So she swallowed the bile that was rising in the back of her throat as she braced herself with one hand on a nearby wall. Snapping her eyes shut as she tried to get the world to stop spinning and turning inside out. Her stomach flip flopping until finally she found the control to push it back.
She was slightly disappointed in herself. Not having made it very far in the valley, it felt like a complete failure. Which honestly it probably was. But perhaps others had fared the same and not made it as far as she had.
What a horrible place that had been.

Wandering back in to the room, it seemed like people were starting to come out of the woodwork, groaning and just looking like hell had warmed them up and back slapped them in the morning. She had to do something to make them feel better, and she had just the idea.
Everyone could appreciate a bath and a new set of clothing, some cleaning and wound care - right? Giving the Emperor a soft look, she wandered around, offering up a bit of cloth from a bundle of sets she had literally scrounged around the tower and her personal set of clothing to find.
Lifen, herself, seemed pretty unabashed about wandering around with a run in her stockings that seemed to have soaked up the majority of blood her leg wound had created, and her arm seemed all but repaired - you would think she was trying to forget about herself for the time being. Everyone else was more important, for they were the foundation of this beautiful country.
Not to mention it was nicer going in to battle when you have pretty clothes on. No lie.
"Everyone, I have secured a little area for bathing and any healing you require in the castle, so if you'd like to recuperate from your endeavours. I'm very proud of you, regardless!" She piped up, blushing a little at her boldness.
Everyone needed a pick me up.
"If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to ask, all right?" She offered finally, before wandering to everyone and handing them some clothes and whatever they needed to feel better.Quote: Just a little fun thing for you guys, seeing as Lifen would just you know, know exactly what kind of clothing your character had and everyone's been well. . . dinged.
Roll 1-10 sided dice, what you get is the swatch type of clothing your char is given to replace any . . . damage.1: The clothing seems . . . well if it were anywhere else you could consider it something anyone would wear. It's nothing to write home about, but hey, it's new clothing. 2-5: Lifen hands you a swatch of clothing that seems pretty soft, it's better than you've seen in a while - probably a lot better than expected when you were promised clothing to combat . . . this.6-9: Handing you the fabric, she looks at it and kind of rubs it between her fingers. It seems like really good quality, almost as if a noble had been cornered in the hallway by the little woman and told to take that shirt off RIGHT NOW.You'll never know if that happened, though.10: Was this fabric personally from the emperor's room? How would she have even gotten in there? It's soft and you kind of feel bad about even considering wearing it, but Lifen seems pretty adament about you trouncing around in that blood/dirt soaked -- omg take it off please. . . . Also you find some golden undergarments in the folds . . wait. What? Everyone needed a new pair of undergarments sometimes.

Scarlett immediately reached for the clothing that Lifen was passing around, feeling only a tiny spark of guilt over what probably seemed greedy. She was dirty though, and could seriously use something to cover her lower half.
Her hands closed around the fabric and for a moment she simply stood in awe. It was very nice, and very.. bright. It was a mixture of golds and reds that made Scarlett question where their Empress had gotten it. But she didn't dwell and she didn't ask questions - if Lifen wanted her to have, she was going to take it.
As well as the offer of a bath, so she could wash the grime of that pit out of her pale hair.
"Thank you," she said softly, giving Lifen a deep bow, then turned and headed for the baths without needing to be told twice.
