Pae'il Name: Jekyll
Concept: Dr. Jekyll / Mr Hyde
Primary Power: Hydes Tough Hide - When angry, Jekyll 'hide' becomes extremely tough, able to withstand physical attacks and fortify his body for his own attacks.

Weakness: Toughness only helps for physical attacks. Anything magical (water, fire, sleeping, ect) he is vulnerable to. As it's triggered and fueled by anger he can't easily start or stop it - possible with hard work he can get control over his feelings to quicker stop it.

Secondary Power: Perfect Pour - His measurements are always the perfect amount. As long as he has the right ingredients.

Weakness: If he doesn't have the right ingredients, the mixture won't turn out right and will fail. Only applies to mixing things - not pouring cement / metals into molds / ect

Autumn

Pae'il Name: Autumn
Concept: Autumn
Primary Power: State Change: Autumn can cause water molecules to change their state of matter.

This utilizes all of the state change processes of water except for those involving plasma (at this time): melting, freezing, evaporation, condensation, sublimation, and deposition. The amount of energy it takes for him to cause a phase change is directly proportional to the latent heat required to do the same. I.e., it takes far more energy to sublimate than to evaporate, which takes more energy than melting. Likewise, it takes more energy to change water with many solutes (e.g. salt) than pure water.

He can only change a body of water once; no changing a puddle to water vapor and then back again. He can only change water, H2O, and no other compound. The water changes as it would if done by natural physical processes. For example, if he causes a puddle of salty water to evaporate, the salts will be left behind.

He can also only do this for an amount of water limited by his own energy and the aforementioned energy requirements. No changing the weather or affecting humidity or the like. Additionally, if he tries to manipulate tainted water, he himself will become tainted as well.
Secondary Power: Leaf Change: Autumn can manipulate the amount of chlorophyll present in vegetation.

This includes both increases and decreases of chlorophyll.

This is not limited to woody tree species, but rather is for all flora containing chloroplasts in a leaf-like structure. There is a set volume of chlorophyll he can manipulate depending on energy; probably the equivalent of changing 1-2 full-grown trees from "summer" to "autumn" states (or vice versa) at the moment. Whether he does that via 2 trees or some number of saplings or portions between different plants is irrelevant. Naturally, the more he manipulates, the more energy is consumer. Perhaps with time he may be able to become more efficient at the process and able to do more, but that would require an exceptional amount of practice.

He must touch the plant to change it. He cannot change the same plant twice, nor can he affect the trees of Laisidhiel. If he manipulates a tainted plant, he will become tainted as well.

Unfortunately, when removing enough chlorophyll to cause a color change in leaves, it dramatically harms the plant's ability to perform photosynthesis and, thus, survive. This won't effect him directly, but it might be best if he didn't go upset any aquascapers or the like.

Muir
Daisicle
Pae'il Name: Muir
Concept: Myrmecophyte
Primary Power: Whistling Thorn - Muir has bonded with the whistling thorn, allowing him to produce two variations of thorns from his skin. The first is straight and capable of piercing most surfaces; the second is hallow, can house acrobat ants, and will produce nectar for them.

Limits: The first set of thorns can vary from 1-3 in and cannot pierce through rocks, gems, hardwoods, or otherwise metal-strength surfaces. They can pierce thin leather, softwoods, and similar strength materials. They will easily pierce pae'il skin, but not scales unless they get into the spaces between the scales. For the most part, however, they are a defense mechanism triggered much in the same way as a porcupine. Perhaps with time he might be able to better produce them as-desired, but not in the near future.

The second set of thorns are produced unconsciously as ants near him and are far less common.
Secondary Power: Acrobat Ant - Muir has bonded with the acrobat ant, allowing him minor influence over them.

Limits: I use the term influence fairly loosely (feel free to change it with a more appropriate word). He can suggest they do something (e.g. going to check out a place or pae), but a suggestion is all it is. They are more inclined to do so in order to receive nectar as a reward. As they consume nectar, their knowledge is shared with Muir. This could range from seeing new flora/fauna species, others in the nearby vicinity, or just some new micro areas of their nearby environment. Very useful.

Pae'il Name: DelfĂ­n
Concept: (story, fable, myth, idea, etc. Can be anything, including anything made up) The legend behind the pink dolphin. Amazonian tribes believe the pink dolphin can transform into a man and walk amongst villagers amd impregnate the villagers.
Primary Power: He can transform into a dolphin. But it's more a reverse of his concept. Instead of a dolphin that turns human once a month, during a full moon, he MUST transform into a dolphin.

Once a dolphin, unlike a naiad, he cannot speak. He can still think and is still somewhat him but "him" is more based on dolphin instict as is his actions. He can talk to other dolphins but that is based on his area and knowledge of the residual mammals in the water and how often he has transformed in the waters. If he is in a new area, he must learn new dolphin language. Like an american being transplanted in asia.

Plus, it will be easier to shift, the closer to the full moon it is but harder to change the week of the new moon. When there is no moon, he cannot transform at all. Nor can he sleep. And he has an almost irresistable urge for fish and swimming.

Pae'il Name: Marigold
Concept: Autumnal Appreciation Concept Contest - Marigolds
Primary Power: Panacea Radiance - Marigold strikes a fabulous pose, and becomes radiantly and brilliantly bright; blindingly bright. But the light does not actually blind or hurt any pae. It makes her look more majestic. [example] The rays of light can instantly remove and cleanse afflictions, like toxins and diseases.
    Weaknesses:
  • She has to look fabulous for the light to shine bright.
  • The strength of the light depends on the power of the pose
  • The strength of the Taint cleansing is very, very weak compared to other afflictions because she is still considered young and Taint is strong. With experience, she'll get better.
Secondary Power: Recap - power to give understandable information in an accelerated manner.
She talks so fast, for someone on the outside it just sounds like she is talking like a chipmunk on cocaine and redbull on fastforward, but to the person she's talking to, they get the entire story/conversation in seconds and it's all clear and understandable

Magical Item: Immortal Marigold hair accessory. (It's real and will never die, so it has all the cool marigold powers, like blooming all year)

Concept: Master of Spices
Primary Power: Master of Spices
    Capabilities
    Cassia can "read" spices to know exact combinations to create different and unique - magical - flavor profiles. The food that these spice blends create is the best flavored in all the island. The special spice blends that Cassia makes (and will sell) are designed to improve the lives of the pae that use them (luck, love, success).
    Weaknesses
  • Any pae whose unique power is making delicious food magically trumps Cassia's spices.
  • Spices lose their potency over time, so they must be replenished.
  • Spice effects last for as long as the food eaten nourishes the body.
  • Spice is the currency of some villages, so it will be either hard to get, or expensive to trade.
  • Spicy food can have adverse reactions on delicate tummies so the effects might backfire.


Secondary Power: Incense Burner
    Companion power
    The user can create incense from spices and when burned, the scents can cause different effects. There's a calm, meditative state; aphrodisiac; and a sensory "block" that can shield users from abilities that might affect the senses: scent, taste, touch, sight or hearing.

Concept: Christmas mayhem steal a gift - futtakuchi onna Beauty and the Beast remake, baby
Primary Power: Her hair is sentient. As in, it grabs things, trips people, has tantrums, sometimes steals shiny things(a.k.a. forks), throws apples(or anything small, red and round)
Weaknesses: *Anything that can damage regular hair. Heat. Humidity. Electricity.
*Cutting it causes a massive fit and will give Huberta a headache.
*Being bound in a tie restrains it.
*Also water. When it's wet? It's all but useless/normal hair.
Secondary Power: Strength. Hair is strong. Pure tensile strength.
Weaknesses *Again, extreme weather, poor care, tangles. If it causes split ends and damage? It can hurt the poor hair.
*Since it has a mind of it's own, it doesn't always cooperate with Huberta.
*Being bound in a tie. It can slip a little, but once it's up, it's up.
*Water. When it's wet, it's weighed down and acts like normal hair.

Primary Power: Rock Minions : Trouble can make minions out of rocks. Nothing fancy. Or big. Or smart. Just simple minded and made of pebbles. She can only make as many minions as there are pebbles around her. And they're not very smart. They can only follow simple commands.

Trouble was having a blast. Her and her sister had just found the best toy. It was a giant wheel that seemed to run. On it's own!

Her and her sister had been playing hide and seek with the giant wheel as base for days.

Now she just had to beat her sister. Which was becoming increasingly difficult. She had lost the last three games. She was currently layig under rocks, trying to win the 4th game. Maybe if she saw her sister hide, she could find her and win.

"You that's hearing don't you?" She heard off to her left.

"Yes, Gunther. I know. But what else am I sposed to do when she keeps winning?" Trouble turned to glare at the glowing ball of light beside her. she had discovered her Mellon ages ago but she never quite grew used to it's goodie too shoes habits.

"Well, cheating is wrong. You know that, don't you?" The Mellon buzzed in front of her face, blocking her view of the meadow outside the rocks.

"GUnther!! I'm gonna loose. Move it. " she said, moving the Mellon out of the way.

"One would think you didn't care that you're doin something wrong and utterly tragic!!" Gunther snapped, refusing to budge.

"I don't. I just wanna win Gunther. Don't make me Gaurd ya..."

"You wouldn't!" Snapped Gunther.

"Of course I would. You givig away my location. Now move"

Gunther stilled for a moment before returning to his fluttering pace in front of her. "No. I will not let you do something illegal."

"Ok. You asked for it." Trouble snaped her fingers and a a bevy of pebbles from the ground rose up, a sparkle or two surrounding then, and came together to form.. A pebble with a leg.

Trouble stopped and stared at the monster minion. Darn it. They still wouldn't form arms.

Gunther laughed. "Yeah. I'm scared...."

Trouble glared at the offending Mellon ball. "You know what? Let's see you do it. "

Pae'il Name: Honeysuckle
Concept: Beekeeping
Primary Power: Bee Smoker - Honeysuckle emits a pheromone-like scent that can calm Pae and bees down. It works for about 5-10 minutes on a Pae, depending on their strength of mind. Strong-minded Pae are not susceptible to her scent. It works on bees as long as she keeps emitting it, which she can keep up for up to 20 minutes at a time. It also has a distinct smell so if she's put someone out with it before, they can avoid it if she tries it again.
Secondary Power: Queen Bee - Honeysuckle can understand the bees. However as with any language, it must be learned and each hive/queen may have a different dialect to learn.

Pae'il Name: Calanthe
Concept: Flower Garden
Primary Power: Garden Empath - Calanthe's mood directly affects any plants around her. Cheerfully singing while gardening? Flowers around her might bloom early or be extra colorful. Complaining about someone? Leaves will yellow. Depressed? Things may begin to wither.
Weakness: This isn't something within Calanthe's control. Plants that are considered more "fragile" such as flowers and fruiting plants, are more susceptible to her power, whereas hardy evergreens aren't all that bothered.

Secondary Power: Fertile Fingertips - By touching soil, Calanthe can make it more suitable for growing whatever is planted in it.
Weakness: This power is at touch range, and only affects soil that Calanthe touches directly, meaning she'll have to sift the soil through her hands if she wants all of it to be improved. This only affects nutrients, not pH or moisture levels.

Pae'il Name: Pearl
Concept: Pearls
Primary Power: Pearl Oyster - Pearl has bonded with the pearl oyster, giving her thick skin and the ability to purify water by touching it.
Weakness: Her thick skin protects her from damage and drying, but out of water her skin is very rough and she risks chafing herself and causing small injuries to others that touch her. Her water purification is limited to removing impurities from water, and functions passively: the water that passes through her gills when she breathes is affected. Very polluted water will inflame her gills and cause significant pain, though not impede her ability to breathe.
Secondary Power: Gem Magnet - While underwater, gems and precious metals are passively drawn to Pearl as to a magnet.
Weakness: They stick to her and have to be physically removed like one would remove something from a magnet. Very small particles are difficult to remove, and they itch. Anything stuck to her will fall off when she exits the water.

Concept: Will-o'-the-wisp
Primary Power: Ghastly Glow - At will, she can turn spectral and has an eery blue glow.
Weakness: She doesn't glow in daylight (duh)
Once she changes, she can't turn it off until sunrise.
She can't physically interact with corporeal beings or objects
Secondary Power: Follow Me: Her glow can be hypnotizing and lead others to follow, on purpose or not.
Weakness: Strong-willed pae can resist the temptation to follow
Tertiary Power: Her lantern will contain an actual will-o-the wisp, that is later discovered to be a part of her.

Pae'il Name: RosalĂ­a
Concept: Navigation
Primary Power: Navigator's Intuition - Rosalía can read and accurately decipher any map, be it cartographical, topographical, or even a concept sketch from Point A → B.

This does not allow her to read any text present that is written in languages she is not already literate in. She cannot extrapolate information that has been damaged on the map (e.g. from water damage, burning, smearing)
Secondary Power: Waypoint - RosalĂ­a can designate features in the environment as waypoints; she always knows what direction and distance they are from her current position.

Only 1 can be set at a time. Must be set on something easily identifiable (e.g. a major landmark, obvious terrain feature, or just a very nice tree). She knows distance and direction "as the crow flies," which may not account for the actual feasibility of the travel. She is not gifted with knowing what is in-between her current location and her waypoint if she has not already traversed the area.

Pae'il Name: Crystaline
Concept: She is a sprite, so doesn't need one.
Primary Power:Spoonful of Sugar. She has a magic Sugar cube. The sugar from her cube has healing properties. One spoonful has the ability to heal wounds and illness.

Secondary Power: The sugar can cure inebriation and hang overs.

    Weaknesses applied to both
  • The sugar cube has limited use. She can use about a cup of sugar a day safely. That allows the cube to regen.
  • If she uses more, the cube stops regenerating. The more she goes over a cup, the higher the chance it will never regen.,
  • If one pae gets too much sugar, this will cause a "sugar high" followed by a crash.
  • Sugar is addictive
  • Sugar wires children up like a top, but this particular sugar is far worse. So to heal children, only a small amount of sugar is needed, but they will be crazy afterward.
  • The cube cannot get wet because sugar dissolves. If more than a cup's worth of sugar dissolves, the cube cannot regen.

Tertiary Power: Eventually the cube will grow and allow for more sugar to be used.

Pae'il Name: Sabola
Concept: Mystical Properties of Spices
Primary Power: "Spice Master"
    Sabola can divine from dried herbs and spices. He is in tune with spices. He can touch and smell spices to gain insight into which spice blend another pae (customer) needs to benefit their life. The spices "speak" to him and can sense when a pae has is in need. Pae can use this spice blend in their food, or other products that enhance senses such as candles or sachets.
      Weaknesses
    • Spices are incredibly expensive, so Sabola has to travel to obtain some spices at their source, or grow them himself.
    • He cannot use the spice blends on himself or his family because they won't work.
    • The spice blends have a short shelf life. To gain the benefit, the customers must use it before midnight on the 15th day, or it loses its magical properties.
    • Splice blends still are able to season food or scent other products, but they lose potency over time to eventually become bland.
    • Spices are not to be consumed directly or causes health problems.

    Secondary Power: Add-on to the first:
    • One spice blend cures mental maladies, including spells put on another pae. Includes such things as headaches, brainwashing, illusions, etc.
    • One spice blend cures a broken heart
    • One spice blend eases the mind and induces feelings of peace and serenity
    • One blend increases confidence.

      Weaknesses
    • Effects are all temporary on long term condition. But can cure short-term conditions.
    • Only work if the customer wants them to work. Cynics will not benefit from the magic, but the spices will still make their food delicious.

    Sabola owns a little shop in Kekomura which sells spices. His specialty is spice blends. They not only season food, and provide amazing flavor, they also have magical properties.

    Sabola is in tune with spices, and they "speak" to him. If a customer enters his shop, the spices can pick up on their needs and speak to Sabola to let him know the specific blend that will help them. He usually offers these as free samples.

    He offers several blends that are guaranteed to provide special benefits.
    • Caga: This spice blend has strong notes of ginger and cayenne. It pairs well with chicken dishes. A dash of this blend added to honey and drizzled on a pineapple is utterly delicious! Added to food, tea, or candles, this blend will also heal maladies of the mind. Say goodbye to headaches, brainwashing, illusions, or mental trickery.
    • Silender: This spice blend contains notes of sundew and cinnamon and has a delightfully sweet scent. Perfect for confections, this blend can boost confidence in those that need a boon.
    • Badashok: This delicate and subtle blend has very floral undernotes, with rose as the dominant scent. It is perfect for candles. This blend can cure a broken heart. It eases the pain and soothes the mind and opens a pathway to acceptance of the change.
    • Karana: This blend has a citrus scent and paired with ginkgo created a heavenly aroma when mixed with candles. This blend is very versatile. It soothes the soul and can bring peace to the mind when a pae has anxiety or experiencing hardship.


    Sabola offers a wide range of fresh ground herbs and spices for any pae. He carries exotic spices, and grows many himself, and most are locally sourced here in Kekomura.

Pae'il Name: Kiel
Concept: How Rainbows Came to Be

Primary Power: Prismatic Birds - Kiel can bend light into the shape of birds. He can make one for each primary color of the ROYGBIV spectrum.

Secondary Power: Twitterpated - each of the colored birds Kiel creates has a minor power based on its colors.
Red: Creates a very minor feeling of anger the longer it's around a pae'il. Can cause the Pae'il to become more easily frustrated, however never angry enough to 'rage'.
Orange: Creates a minor aura of warming. This wont sustain a pae for long periods in snow or frigid climates but it would be enough to warm their hands, face or feet on chilly nights.
Yellow: Creates a minor feeling of happiness. Pae'il around the yellow bird will he an overwhelming feeling to smile the longer it's around.
Green: Creates a minor feeling of greed in a pae the longer its around. That pae will begin to feel a need to have more of something, whether it be a shiny rock they find on the ground or eating more food than physically capable.
Blue: Creates a weak light source. In the day time, the bird's light isn't very useful but at night time or in dark spaces it's glow is enough to see a few feet in front of one's self.
Indigo: Creates a minor sense of calm in a pae'il. Not able to calm high strung fears but able to help another work through a bout of anxiety or ease its nerves/rampant mind for a good nights rest.
Violet: Creates a minor feeling of creativity. Great for helping out small artist/writers blocks or helping a baker tweak their recipe. Wont suddenly make a pae a super genius in creating the next world cure or city.

Tertiary Power:
Colored Illusion: (This would ideally be RP'ed and worked towards) - Kiel can command his birds to create colored illusions of someone or something that seem almost tangible. From far away, the illusion looks near perfect and real, up close it would look more akin to something having walked out of a painting. Can be used to confuse foes or entertain friends.

Magical Item:
A staff with a smoothed cluster of crystals at the top that he's able to harness the light through to create his Prismatic birds.

Pae'il Name: Asra
Concept: Sprite so unneeded
Primary Power: Bubble Transport - Asra can encase items in a bubble to either bring it up on land or bring it down into the lake/water.

Cannot bring objects larger and heavier than herself. Works best on small hand held items or things such as fish, food, baskets, blankets, etc.

Secondary Power: Dine-n-Dash: Asra can make said item inside her bubble resistant to drying up/breaking down in water for a couple days before it either has to be returned to the surface it came from or eaten/disposed of/alerted to fit, I.E. a blanket made waterproof somehow OR fish being put in a proper aquarium/pond.

Tertiary Power: Perhaps she could eventually make something completely water proof but only that specific item. Not exact items like it, just that specific one. Such as a wool blanket becoming water proof or perhaps an underwater plant becoming fully able to live on land for the rest of its duration.

Magical Item: A bubble on a necklace clasp. The bubble never pops/diminishes. She has to dip one or several fingers into the bubble before she can encase an item in it.

Pae'il Name: Baldr
Concept: Sprite
Primary Power: Beloved - Said to be so handsome, gracious, and cheerful that "he gives off light", Baldr is quite the charmer. For those familiar with D&D, it works like the Charm Person spell. "Charmed" creatures (I'm thinking like other pae, mellons, and familiars; so things with "higher-order" sentience) will see Baldr as their friend/acquaintance and behave accordingly.

Weaknesses:
-How well it works depends on the target's initial feelings (hostile, neutral, friendly) toward him.
-He can't compel or force anyone to do or say anything they wouldn't normally.
-The effect only lasts as long as the target has line of sight. When line of sight is broken, the target realizes they've been "messed with". How or whether they respond is up to the player.
* Badong is immune; partly from their bond, mostly because of the sprig of mistletoe he carries.

Secondary Power: Ask, and Ye Shall Receive - Since Baldr is such a cool guy and all, he can make simple requests of nature or natural objects and, if they "feel" so inclined, they will do their best to provide.

Pae'il Name: Parvana
Concept: Cinderella's Fairy Godmother
Primary Power: Bippidi Boppidi Boo - Parvana can grant Pae'il's wishes! As long as they are about clothing. The Pae'il's wish must be specific: if they wish for a gown, they will get a beautiful gown! But it may not be a color they like. If they wish for a pink gown, they'll get a pink gown, and so on. Oh--and the clothes only last until midnight, at which point they'll turn into rags.
Secondary Power: Little Dressmakers - Parvana can temporarily enchant small mammals (cats and smaller) to assist her with creating dresses. The enchantment lasts until the garment is finished, and then the critters will go on their way. Dressmaking is the only task they will help with.
Magical Item: (some fae will have unique items, but most will have a default staff only)

Pae'il Name: Inci
Concept: She is a sprite, so doesn't need one.

Primary Power: Gem Change - Inci has the ability to change one type of gem into another. This power only works on what would logically be considered gemstones, not precious metals or other, more common, minerals. Oddly works on pearls, despite those not technically being gems.

Secondary Power: Skin Seasons - Inci can manipulate her skin into one of four states (or none, which would just be her normal skin), each corresponding to a season of the year, and each with their own pros and cons:
  • Spring - Inci's skin regenerates, healing blemishes and minor cuts. (Doesn't work on "summer skin" blemishes.) While in this state, her nose itches and she sneezes uncontrollably often.
  • Summer - Inci's skin will be beautiful and radiant. The next day she will break out in itchy blemishes.
  • Autumn - Inci can temporarily change the color of her skin. The next day her skin will be dry and flaky all over, as from a healing tattoo.
  • Winter - Inci's skin will harden and sparkle, almost like diamond, to offer her some protection. While in this state, she will be constantly cold.
