When they said work, Tybalt didn't expect to be transported back to the most freakish town that ever existed. How long had it been? Two years? Two years since he and the others raided this town and now they were back to work and repair? Oh the irony of it all.
He was still grumbling about a number of things by the time they came to the first row of houses. The black dog, noting said houses and taking a good sniff, paused in his tracks.
On the other hand...
All around them were different candy coated houses, each with such an appetizing smell about them, which was hard for his sensitive nose to ignore. The ginger ones were especially tasty looking. But being the good black dog he was, he left them alone. Or at least, he did after taking a good chunk out of the closest house to him.
So his halo was a little crooked. No one would notice a hole that size.
With a mischievous grin and zero hesitation, the black dog stuffed the entire chunk of gingerbread past his serrated teeth.
Delicious~
Once the evidence was disposed of he caught up with the others. However, he was less than pleased to find out what their task was. Stuffies. Why in Jack's name was it always stuffed toys?
With another grumble the black dog set to work, snatching up one of the most creepy looking heads he had ever seen. Red, and way too happy looking. He gave it a quick look over, before he threw it back onto the ground, kicking it around the floor while he looked for the next piece, which was far harder than he thought it to be. The conveyer belt, carrying the parts, was spitting them all out in heaps, dumping them onto the ground like a mass grave for stuffed toys. Finding the right piece--or even a piece at all was going to be a task in itself.
Tybalt found a red head.

"Back during a poker game a wile back, I believe. Though that was years ago." She was still fairly new to the school then, and her attitude was pretty poor then. Though, she seemed to recall getting along well with the witch ghoul. She thought..
With the elf arriving to take them to Christmas town, Mei nodded at Gene and Bella, following the half pint through the portal. She did not miss seeing Christmas town, she would have been happy to never lay eyes on this Jack forsaken place. But time away from the school was definitely welcomed.
When the tour ended, and their work began, Mei went straight to work, reaching for a head but grabbed nothing. Eh, who cares if the toy is headless, right?

The high pitched 'eeeee'ing of the kitsune was drowned out by grumbling and the creaking and hissing of turning cogs as the assembly lines moved, shoving out part after part in front of her. She reached for one of the heads, but someone else grabbed it up before she could get it.
She pouted lightly, but didn't raise a fuss about it, instead just trying again. Once again, someone else was faster than she was.
Tomoko actually stared in awe of how quickly all these elves' hands moved. They probably could make a jillion toys, now couldn't they? She suddenly was distracted from picking up a head by watching everybody else working with awe. It was...probably bad work ethic on her part to be so fantastically enamored with the process elsewhere.
"Jaaacckkkk, do you think we could make toys this fast?" she asked, looking to the Nekogami. Kirakirasparkle.

It seemed pretty quick going, watching all the elves run along picking up pieces and pushing and knitting critters together, for who-knows, stuffing them in little boxes. Seeing them make these toys was . . . stunning to say the least - leaving Jack to wonder if there was some kind of Christmassy magic that allowed them to work as fast as they could. Even when he attempted to snag the first part of his toy, watching the heads nearly float away from him on the hand of little creatures.
Looking down to his little satalite friend, he smiled to her, leaning down so his face was close, watching the elves work again from her shoulder's point of view for a moment. "It could take a bit of practice, but I'm sure anyone could do this if they trained well enough, mm?" He offered up to her.
"Maybe we should try to get the next piece. Headless plush toys are cute too, right?"

Toys?! Lizzy was more than happy to be making toys... Something calm and not dangerous. Probably. It was always hard to tell when the school was involved, and although this was no field trip, they were still going to a foreign land, led by a very noisy elf.
"Let's go!" She grinned, kira-kiraing at Mot, Shun, and Canon, before hopping through the portal, and following the elf all the way to the workshop.
It was go time.

Rushing over to assembly belt A, Lizzy grabbed a random toy part, and ended up with a red... Head of some sort? It looked almost too happy, and why doesn't it have any ears?! IS THIS NORMAL? WHAT IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE?
Clutching the head, she moved over to assembly belt B, hoping to solve the mystery.

So he was back! Xiu beamed at Shun, returning his wave with a much more enthusiastic one. It was nice seeing that her big brother--and Mitsu then, as well!--had finally returned. She also made a mental note to ask him something when the chance arrived, before turning back to look at Sophie.
"You'll definitely get the hang of things here," She agreed, her tail swishing behind her as she grinned cheerfully at Sophie, "And if you're ever confused about something, we're always here to ask for help!"
Although it looked as if she wanted to say something more, she was suddenly interrupted by...an elf? Oh geez--were they working for Christmas in the part-time job? While the baku generally didn't have much against them, that latest stunt with the giant elf and all the attacking creatures had been a little...much. However, she would give them the benefit of the doubt. Turning, she offered Sophie a smile before motioning towards Alex. "In case we get separated while working, Alex should have my number if you ever need help with anything. Or, you know, we should have tea sometime! If you like baked stuff, I make a lot of sweets in my free time."
And then she followed the others through the portal. Like many of the other students, all she could do upon making it through was stare. This was certainly different from what she was used to. The workshop wasn't any less fascinating--she gaped at all the conveyor belts with a blank expression, staring at all the doll parts. They were to...assemble toys? Well, that didn't sound so hard. Taking a spot by the conveyor belt, she picked up the first doll head that came her way.
Uh...okay! Blue doll head! Was she supposed to match colors, or...?

Nodding at the ghoul, Gene stood and stuffed her knitting things away, following the elf. Christmas town...why were they going to Christmas town? Wait - 12 days worth of Labor?
Oh Jack, what had she gotten herself into?
The place gave her a headache, she realized, as she stepped out of the portal. Putrid...she could sense all the JOY in the place, and it was disgusting. Crinkling her nose as she followed the elf into the factory, she just looked at the mindless elves, then at Mei.
"Well...guess I got my curiosity sated, didn't I?" She asked the ghoul, picking up a head from the conveyor belt. Toy making...who would even want these toys?

"Ah, no worries hun." She patted Gene lightly on the shoulder. "We've survived Christmas town before, we can survive it again." She hoped. Just keep the damned trees outside where they belong, and she will do just fine.
Moving to the next conveyor belt, Mei moved to grab a body for her headless toy, and once again.. came up with nothing. Well, maybe the kids would at least get a box of limbs if she was feeling generous?

A dry chuckle escaped him at the asking for trouble line, as he had applied those very words to himself lately. "Think know how y'feel . . ." He was a little surprised to know the hole still existed, however. Shouldn't that have gone away if she was really cured? Or was that an unrelated scar . . . Come to think of it, Mort didn't know very much about how Riley had come into Insanity. Mrrr . . . Yes, he'd definitely have to have a chat with both her and Malodore when time allowed it.
But before he could think to ask, her hands landed on his shoulders (whawhawha-) and the demon escorted him out into the portal and - color. Mort winced at the cheery lights and tried his best not to look at him as he was forced along forward by both Riley and their apparent tour guide, lifting his feet as much as he could with each step. He hated snow. He hated snow so much. Cold he didn't mind, but cold and wet just seeped into his socks and pants and Jack damn it this was awful. Coupled with the noise the factory made and the already too cheery lights, and Mort became a scowling zomboil who was now regretting his decision to come. But here they were, and here they were to work for -
- Twelve days? That was just a ballpark random totally not true estimate, correct? Please. Please let it be a sweet little lie.
The efficient manner the elves were working, though, earned them a few points of respect. If they weren't strictly placed by the conveyor belts, Mort would have liked to investigate. Maybe later . . . For now, he had to assemble a toy and try not to mess up. "Mrrr . . . C-Could be worse?" he said to Riley as he plucked what looked like the head of a green insect off the conveyor belt. "N-Never been to Christmas Town. Bells's told me stories 'bout train n' crazy ninja . . . Were you around for that?"

At assembly belt B, Lizzy made a grab for a random item, and came up with... What is this even?
"Oh. Toys. Not... Plushies... Right," She muttered, looking at the plant-like toy body part; at least now it made sense for the head to not have any ears.

"Hmmm...but what about that whole twelve days worth of labor thing? Doesn't that concern you a little?" She asked the doll, following her to the next conveyor belt and picking up a weird and oddly bright box. That would fit...right? Yes, of course.
Putting a box in a box. That'd show these Christmas creeps.

Assembly belt C seemed to be full of parts, as well as busy elves. She didn't really get the opportunity to pick out something, and had to grab a random item before being shoved away... With some kind of a bug body.

Hmmm, okay! So a blue head, and...
...Uh. No, that wasn't what Xiu had meant to snatch up. She stared at the body--a...a bunny, maybe?--rather blankly, but it was too late to grab another body part as the others were carried away with a conveyor belt. With a sigh, she decided that she would just have to deal with it.
Okay, blue head and pink bunny body. Was there anything else she need to add to this thing?

The blast of cold hit her so hard, her skin rose up in goosebumps and she pinned herself behind Mort, whose size was the perfect fit to use as a shield from the cold. Being dead, however, he was of little service to her, and she suddenly felt a pang of sadness. Her heart hurt. She couldn't pinpoint exactly why she felt that way, but she ignored it and hurried to the factory as fast as heels-buried-into-snow could take her, glad to be inside once they'd made it.
Mort was right, it could be worse. At least their job wouldn't be to stand outside shoveling snow. It was the little things in life.
Letting go of Mort, she moved to grab a piece off the first conveyor belt, and compared it to his own. Identical heads, with little feelers that she felt added a pleasant touch to the disembodied face. Perhaps she could just pack this in a box to give to children. It seemed appropriate.
I was in attendance during the last visit to this place. I confess I know very little about what happened there, however. My only memories consist of those Malodore shared with me. She said this all quite casually, as she bopped her tiny feelered head against Mort's. Much like this.
