It dawned on him during a jog through the maze: the four of us are a chorus.
Him and Syntax, Mimsy and Svensyl. They were in this together, with arms linked. He had her back. He would ensure her survival, as well as he could.

Why did she keep fighting? She'd lost her initial purpose a long time ago, only a short month or so after waking up from her pod and her trials. She came for the Boson. Why had she stayed?
