Rep waited for a while after getting split up, thinking way too much. It was possible to get it wrong? You could think it was serious and then out of nowhere find out you were wrong? It wasn't a possibility he'd ever entertained. Nor could he imagine feeling so strongly about someone and then ever moving on to someone else.
After a while he stopped waiting and stepped out onto the floor.
Success wasn't really an option.

He wouldn't be.
The monster nearest him got the brunt of his insecurity and pent up charge. The swing was more jealous fury than an actual attack and came back ultimately harder on Rep than on the monster he struck. After the blow, he was thrown back, axe and all, into the opposing wall.

"Well not- look out!" Harrison got scraped into the wall too, missing the majority of the kickback but not able to do much for Rep either. He scowled and rubbed his head.
"s**t-" He stabbed the ground to help himself up, and the shadowmonster moved out of the way.
"I would have been kidding myself," he growled, trying to drag it back towards them with his right hand.

Rep picked himself up with little more than a snarl of irritation, straightening up and making sure all his bits were still attached. Harrison created a distraction and he found himself moving to try and take it as if on autopilot.
"Except would you be?" he snarled, hefting the weight of the axe up onto his shoulder. "Because you sound like you were pretty ******** serious."
He swung, again with that reckless sharp brutality. The creature hissed in surprise and his shoulders screamed their protests at his brain.

Harrison looked over at Rep, and another stab got slithered out of. Everything about him bristled with upset- Harrison lowered his swords, frowning.
"Sure, I was serious. And sure, I thought I'd be happy if it all worked out, but ********, if I could go back and do it all over- you couldn't pay me a million dollars to end up anywhere but right here, fighting next to you. ...You and Jordan make me happy."

Rep wanted that to be it, wanted hearing that to be enough to just wash away the worries and anxieties he was fighting with as much as the monster in front of him. But even the deep rooted twinge of love and affection that was almost painful at hearing they made him happy and he wouldn't change it, was still offset by the lurking paranoia.
He swung, the tip of a steel feather clipped the ceiling and robbed his momentum.
"You moved on." he stated matter of factly, almost an accusation.

"Well if I could get a ******** charge-" The blades went south of the mark again, and Harrison ended up with a bladeful of nothing.
"Dammit. Dammit, I don't even know why we're fighting them," Harrison said, frustrated too and giving up. He reached for his pendant. "We weren't getting back together. He made that pretty clear. I wasn't going to mope over it the rest of my life, when he wasn't going to spend another damn second thinking about me. ...Deus ex machina."

"I just worry. I didn't really think about it being possible to make mistakes. I've got nothing to compare anything to." Nothing felt like a mistake, he wanted to be together till the day he died, but what if that was just some infatuation and one day he'd wake up and it would be gone. What if someone else did?
It was hard to concentrate on the fight, it was only by virtue of his raw fighting instincts he managed to land a hit at all.
