The sharp clack of heels heralded the arrival of one petite, short-haired and very unimpressed she-b***h. Sasha had heard there was a mission. To be frank, she'd completely forgotten about it mere moments after reading the text. She'd gotten so caught up in the golem research she was doing that it hadn't even occurred to her that she should respond to the call of duty.

However, the ruckus of everyone's return couldn't be ignored --

--and neither could the specks of vomit that decorated her shoe, thanks to Ofie.

The corners of Sasha's lips pinched slightly as she graced the redheaded teen with a disgusted look, lifting her gaze to scathingly peruse the rest of the room.

Weepy bitches. Weak, weepy bitches.

Her eyes narrowed even more when she caught sight of Jerry, Rep, Harrison, Jordan. Exhaling loudly, cocked her hip and lifted a brow.

She didn't really want to know what happened - she didn't really care - but it seemed prudent (and ladylike) to ask.

"What happened?"

Maybe if Ofelia wasn't too busy still emptying the contents of her stomach all over the floor she would have given Sasha a proper apology (why did she looked familiar Ofelia wasn't sure she didn't think they knew one another formally) but instead all she could manage was a sour smile and a sheepish shrug of her shoulders to indicate she was sorry before she vomited again. Also what was the glare was it really needed WATCH WHERE YOU WALK! Is totally what she thought be never said. She still couldn't talk with a mouth full of bile. It had to be her nerves that was causing it, her inability to accept what was going on with her body rather than her mind, and she kept heaving as she tried to make it to the door.

Actually, she didn't really move because a trail of puke would be the worst thing in the world to add to this room full of sobbing people. At least she wasn't crying or punching the floor or hanging on a loved one like the world was ending. Even with Rue's tablet in her arms her eyes didn't water, she didn't feel a longing or anything else. Some people looked worried, haunted that they were going to die now without their shields or the voices of their weapons in their heads, but Ofelia . . .well, a break from Rue without the added effects of insanity was a welcome break. No more cackling, no more egging her on to try something stupid and end up in a horrible state.

Silence. Bliss.

Ofelia was probably going to go crazy with the quiet before too long. Rue was the constant in her life, probably the only one, and with her gone it was only a matter of time before a part of her wanted the noise back. It would be a small part, likely a section that she didn't know existed, but it'd be there.

When her stomach seemed properly empty she wiped her mouth with the tail end of her shirt, the ripped up fabric only serving to remind her that she'd worked hard to save two students who likely ended up dead anyway. Of course death was a complete and final thing in Halloween and that thought pissed her off. . . somewhat. Here at Deus they had two bodies and lord knows if the students at Amity were already reforming. Unfair, and irritating.

After finishing wiping up and maybe fuming a little more on the inside, Ofelia squeezed tight Rue's tablet and started to look around. Although she didn't want to lean on someone and sob and have them try to reassure her that everything was okay there was still a faint want of being next to someone. They didn't have to hug, she easily settle for holding hands, and so the red-headed teen started scanning the area for a certain Mist hunter who'd spent the mission at her side. Ofelia really, really hoped Before was okay.

Lex gave the grass that Solia was patting a look, smiling lightly. Yes, it was good to see colors again. He'd seen a few when he'd drunk that odd liquid from that odd little shadow girl; but those were only specks of color. This was full on bright green, like his scarf. Lex really liked green, now.

"Yeah...laying down would be great. I'm not sure I could stomach food right now, though." More like absolutely knew that if he even took a bite of an apple he'd instantly chuck it up. Lex never had been able to eat while sad (something that hardly ever happened). He smiled a bit at the thought, so. Sad; he'd pinpointed one of the emotions he was feeling. Sad for everyone, sad for himself, even sad for Regal. The Gryphon had just woken up, and he was slumbering again.

Slumber. God that sounded great. "Let's just go to my room." And sleep. All sleep; nothing sexual. Sleeping and maybe some light cuddling.

He actually wasn't in the mood for sex right then.

"Okay then." She waited for him to move first, standing and brushing herself off. She was being quiet, just like she'd been asked. Smiling, even if it hid her worry, her concern. Solia didn't know what the right thing to do was anymore. So, she simply did what was wanted.

Lex followed suit, giving the place one last look of sadness. There's be a lot of pain in the days to come.

A hand was placed on Jerry's shoulder, a familiar worn sort of hand. The other was still in a sling, and to be honest, the attached Sun lead looked like he had been placed into a blender and then set to puree. He nodded slowly to Ofie, and then the infamous trio.

"Jerry-kun, Ofie-chan," his tone was softer than usual, worn raw, maybe from having spent the last hour nonstop detailing his personal experience - perhaps the greatest question of where exactly he had been, "You are proud Sun Hunters. No, all of you are still, and always will be Hunters, and nakama. There are some things nothing can erase, no matter how permanent it seems, and that includes your bonds." It was pretty obvious what he was talking about: this was Allan after all.

The Sun lead shuffled for a second, shifting positions, before pulling out a simple necklace. It glowed on its own for a bit, there was no mistaking as to what exactly it was. The smile was a little more encouraging. "Be strong for each other, so when they return, you won't make them sad okay?"

It wasn't an if, it was a when, and a very adamant accent on that one word. Allan instinctively tried to fish in his coat -that wasn't there - for something else, most likely Pocky or whatever confection he usually carried in stacks, but was quickly called away by several other Death Hunters attempting to figure out the situation. Oddly enough, Mark looked mostly nervous, and kept on hiding behind two other Hunters who looked like they were about to lynch him any second.

For a second, as if reacting to the Sun lead's presence, the tablets closest to him seemed to stir, just a second, a small hiccup, as if shifting dreams. They would call to them again, like they always did, choose them again, like they always did because they had chosen them already.

Ofelia was surprised, to say the least, when the overly friendly and overly energetic voice of her division lead leaked into her ears. She peered at him from where she stood, her cheeks pale and her stomach hurting, but she did manage a weak smile for him as he addressed her with some weird title. 'Chan' wasn't her last name if that's what he was doing but Ofelia would take it all in stride - he'd used her nickname after all and seemed to be trying to reassure her and Jerry.

Speaking of Jerry, it was the first time Ofelia really got a good look at the rest of the Suns. Sure she could be proud, the red-headed teen had enough pride to go around, but looking at her nakama (whatever that was) she felt a little. . .disturbed? Left in unease would be better, or once against the bitter taste in her mouth of disappointment. Rep and Jordan looked horrible, Jerry looked like his usual drug addict self, and she was puking her guts out in a pile of shame.

Shouldn't they know better - know that the Suns were basically the most cannon fodder of all cannon fodder trainees and main hunters? She'd always known that they'd die before most people, that sort of was their job, but she assumed that since Bix went in a horrible and unusual way everyone had a right to mourn or whatever it was they were doing. She was still confused, it was only natural, but a part of Ofelia was starting to feel unhappy in a way that wasn't linked to her dislike of the situation.

When Allan continued to speak, something about bonds and time and returning, and she wondered who it was he was talking about. Was it her weapon, Rue? Or was he talking about Ceres and Bix? It seemed strange that the two corpses would come back but given how Deus never ceased to amaze her Ofelia would put nothing past anyone. She was about to thank Allan, to say something back to him because of his attempt to cheer her up, but he was already gone in the crowd. Ofelia frowned and went on looking where he went, raising an eyebrow at Mark.

He was weird.

Sherry was a bit surprised when Jake didn't directly respond. But her relief outweighed anything else, right then. She just didn't know how much she could take. After a long moment he did speak, but Sherry wasn't entirely sure it was meant for her. Even if it was, she didn't know how she would respond- what could she say to something like that?

She was aware of another person approaching, and suddenly Tori was there, giving her a hug. "Tori!" She returned the embrace, still striving for some semblance of not being quiet so lonely. "You made it, too. Thank goodness." Something else Sherry could count as a good thing. Right now, she needed all she could get.

She was aware of Jake leaving. I really don't think he wants to be my friend, she put words into the thought, and half expected a response. The silence that followed was deafening.

"Tori," Sherry said, pushing back out of the hug, "do you think they'll be okay?" She was asking about the weapons.

There seemed to be some sort of ruckus going on with Mark and a few Life Hunter techs though the next second, the three of them had somehow managed to get their hands on what looked like a life's supply of christmas lights that all glowed runic blue attached to two flat panels and, god knows how, the majestic statue of Marcus.

The Death assistant cleared his throat, tried to look extremely intense as he intensely stared at the majestic statue of Marcus. "Okay, okay, I got this, I've been researching the Insanity all this time and I know exactly how to fix them." He emphasized his point by giving the majestic statue of Marcus a firm pat on the behind-

- Only to hear a loud crack as it crumbled. And fell off.

Silence.

Mark very quietly stared at the butt (portion of the butt of the majestic statue of Marcus) and just as quietly (ever so quietly), slowly, inched off. Clearly it was uh, there was more you know, research to be done.

It was hard not to notice the group of hunters around the statue, and it even managed to grab the attention of Jason, whom looked up dully as Mark stood in front of the statue. Confused, he stood up, hearing Mark and blinking as a result.

He...had this?

Did that mean...?

He took a few steps over to get a better look, and his eyes had the slightest bit of life when he heard the words 'I know how to save him'

Only to watch as Marcus, lost his a**.

.....

If Zanthvos was here, he would of remarked just how much of a fine a** Marcus had.

Jason just stood there and...wondered just what the hell happened.

Before was not okay. He didn't think he would ever be okay again. He'd lost his best friend and he'd lost his partner and at the moment he'd lost all will to live. He should be blaming Halloween. Should be feeling rage and frustration amidst all the helplessness and heartache. But he didn't. He just hurt.

And when he hurt he needed to occupy himself with something else. Rather than making sure Ofelia and Tori were alright, the Mist was immediately rushing elsewhere.

"What happened."

The first voice made Jerry's blood run cold. He turned, slowly, to half glance at Sasha's stern expression through his sweat-soaked bangs, the tremble back in his features like a cornered rodent. His mouth opened as though to answer, but once again, he had lost his voice. It was as though the stammer had grown so thick he couldn't even begin the words, all sound caught in his throat.

Sasha was here. She was unaffected, she hadn't been on the mission, judging by the barrette still in her hair. His eyes locked on it, his hands tightening on Roar's battered tablet.

The hand suddenly on his shoulder was enough to make him jump with a strangled noise in his throat, but the sound of Allan's voice made him relax ever so slightly. He turned his attention over immediately, concentrating on each word... and somehow, like always, Allan seemed to know just what to say, even with his own injuries.

They were Suns. They were Hunters. There wasn't anywhere else for them in this world but here doing what they did.

They would die doing what they did. An occupational hazard, of course, but Hunting was what they were made for.

Jerry's eyes suddenly dropped. Bix had been one of the ones who had found out about...

He dismissed those thoughts as Allan lifted his necklace, which glowed softly. He focused on the glow before suddenly something in Roar's tablet flinched. He wasn't sure what it was, nor how to describe it, but he felt it.

"When..." He repeated, the color returning to his face, his posture straightening considerably.

Allan's faith never wavered, even as he was called away. Allan's faith had not wavered when Sasha and Wash and Jordan and the rest had been abducted, and Jerry had crumbled to pieces. He watched him go, clutching the stone to his chest.

Jerry needed his faith back, in the universe, in himself, in what they did... whatever it was about Allan didn't just put a tiny hiccup of life into the dead thing in his hands, but something that had been long beaten and stomped down inside him rise up.

His mouth moved soundlessly for a moment before a quiet, weak voice piped up, "hey might burn us, They might bite us,
They might curse and scratch and claw..."

His eyes rose again, spotting Sasha before turning to Rep and Jordan and Ofelia with fresh resolve, "But we won't stop, we won't rest
Until we've gone and killed them all!"

That sang, he glanced back to Sasha, eyes straying up to her barrette again, but this time with a more soul edge to his expression, "Nothing. Nothing happened." At least nothing he was ready to share with her.

Sasha fought the urge to roll her eyes when Jerry didn't speak, very nearly excusing herself from the whole mess until she heard Allan's faint whisper. Her eyes narrowed slightly - she hadn't been able to catch much of anything he said - on Allan before they darted once more to Jerry. She was a keen b***h; nothing had happened? Please. Something had happened.

She pursed her lips and sent an idle glance to the flecks of bile that dotted her heels - as if gazing into the bitter depths would provide the divination she sought. No, there was nothing there to be found, and once more she lifted her gaze to seek Jerry's.

And then Jerry was singing again.

Sasha let out a frustrated sigh. She wanted to get back to her work, but she wasn't an idiot. Cutting all ties to allies was not the best way to get what she wanted - then again, she didn't want to nurture any sort of false hope. Unless, of course, it got her what she wanted. Jerry was a good sun (usually) and there might come a time that she needed the sort of blasting power he provided.

With a low hum, Sasha tilted her head to the side as she peered at Jerry. He looked dirty, gross and haggard - and she did not doubt for a moment that he reeked to high heaven.

"You need a shower. I'll get you some towels."

That being said, Sasha spun on her heel and disappeared around the corner without waiting for a response from Jerry. Maybe she'd choke out an apology later - or maybe not. At this moment, it was hard to say - but she'd done some thinking on the matter, quite obviously - and it would be stupid of her to pretend that Jerry didn't exist.

Ariane didn't say anything more, just nodded before leading Jude out the door; silence could be comforting at times, and she was glad that he wasn't the kind of person to say too much... Especially given the situation they were in.
