After overhearing his name being said by Evvie to Escher, Jasper looked up. It seemed as if Evvie had something else in mind instead of guard duty on the border of Wormwood. When Escher approached hin, Jasper stiffened. "Nice to meet you, then name's Jasper... Paladin of Ernya, I guess." The man had no knightship, but he still had a variety of other tricks. "Well, lead the way. I was actully sent here to receive a mission, so my business is dealt with."
"The world is fragile, just like the minds of men and can be easily changed."
Escher placed his hands in his pockets and turn, "Then lets move out." He said as he walked out the door. "I can pretty much see where this mission is heading. We play our cards right it'll go without a problem." He said as he to make small talk on the way to the gates.

A small bird flew through one of the open windows above in the main foyer. The bird cryed softly to let it know it was here, mainly to gets Evvie's attention. It flew down and settled on the desk. It had a note tied to its leg and it read.
"Armor in the making, We should have it by the time you reply but we are awaiting farther orders."
It said. Escher wanted to keep it short and simple. The bird chirped again await for Evvie to react.
Noticing the bird, Evvie gave it some seed and read the massage to her. Giving a gentle smile, she jotted out her reply and tied it back on. "Okay, little one. Please make sure this gets back to the one who sent you." The bird nodded and chirped, hopping back to the window sill before flying off.

Liliana moved fast, giving no look to anyone else before reaching her bed chambers. All she wanted was a hot shower and bed. But instead of making it ot her washroom, Liliana flopped onto the bed and passed out.
But Liliana wouldn't be able to get the sleep she craved. Her mind wandered too far and fast, slipping in and out of lifetimes and events and things to come. Instead, Liliana decided to gather herself up and head to see what Evvie might have waiting for her.
Liliana finally found Evvie pouring over the book. She spoke with her Steward at length over recent events and hoped her lure worked on the vampire she met earlier.

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."
Out from the void itself, a cascading portal of shadow devoid of light tore itself open as the Wraith of Hanging Ghosts stepped out of her little dark plane. Her form was visible through energy but the Void's blessing hid her from the naked eye and mortal ear as she still walked as a ghost. Through the city itself she had concealed her presence yet made her presence known with constant shifts of her magic with shadow walk, pools of darkness rifting open now and then and revealing not a soul to the inhabitants.
With night approaching, her activity was not as sluggish as she was more alert, awake you could say. But yet the overwhelming amount of souls around her flooded her senses and thus forced her to rely mostly on smell and sight. With assumption of who the woman was and memory of her signature, Nokomis was following a trail for her kin and those bound to the Void were known trackers.
Alarmed, she was not. Cautious was more of the correct phrase peaked with curiosity. In the back of her mind, she knew one thing was for certain. She had accepted the Seer's blood back at the swamp and her pride forced such an obligation to just see what was in store.
A few men were caught startled by the mass of shadow that had appeared before it had receded into the ground, Nokomis only casually walked by with her blessing of the Void cloaking sound and physical appearance of her body. She wouldn't reveal herself yet, only to the one that could see all through cloudy eyes. With a few steps toward the premises of where she felt familiar energy, Nokomis looked up and closed her eyes as she walked into yet another pool of shadow.
As she did so, she dispelled the illusion of her physical existence and would briefly flash toward anyone in her area before vanishing in her shadowed walk. Transporting herself across the dark plane and homing in on the Seer, Nokomis peered out in the realm of material 'fore he stepped through. Thus she did, stepping out as the shadows gathered more around to form the body-sized hole devoid of light.
Nokomis stepped out and only stood there staring at the very same woman from before whom was speaking with another. She said nothing as the shadows receded away, being re-absorbed into her own and under her cloak whilst she took her hood off to reveal herself.
"Well, you know my name, but what is your's fog-eyed one? It has been awhile since I last stepped foot in Ernya in publicity..." The vampire said as she glanced behind her back, still paranoid of being in a city after such a long solitude. "Your eyes see more than they let on, do they not? For you may know that I always pay my debts..Knowing my weakened power and knowing my desire to grow in my power again. A clever ploy for anyone, as it pains me to admit it."
Nokomis crossed her arms and glanced around, still relying more on her sight and smell while she pondered the coincidence. If she had teachers that could make herself stronger, just how powerful were they? The vampire could already judge just from a glimpse of how powerful this woman was, the clever ploy of the now obvious lure. She owed her much more than some simple task, without the blood the vampire wouldn't have survived. Blast her bloody pride, she had to pay this wretched debt off and to one that could peer into her past.
Hnn... Pay the debt I must, Uncle Rogger always told me that.. But can I trust her? Will this be a repeat, the last time I trusted someo-- No. Do not think about it. If someone wanted me dead, I'd sense it now.
Nokomis narrowed her eyes then and looked up. "Awfully trusting of you to let one of my kin into your city without so much as an armed greeting. Is there reason to this? Do the guard of this city hold faith or is it something else? There're many things that trouble me and make me curious. Perhaps I am just being paranoid.'

Liliana didn't look up when Nokomis stepped from the shadows. But when Nokomis finished speaking, she stood up, nodding to her Steward to leave them. Evvie nodded, taking the book with her. "I'm known in Rykros by many names, Isabella. The titles multiply with each passing event. But here, in Ernya and to her people, I am known as Lady Liliana. As for offering you help, it was not a ploy. Despite what you have done and have been through, you have a much bigger role to play later on. So you must be trained properly to prepare you for it." Liliana sat down, remaining quiet for a moment. "I hold no ill to anyone of any race or profession," she finally said. "My guards know we are sanctuary to many kinds of people. When I came into power, the old ways of this land and its blood-soaked bigotry were destroyed. Now you are judged by what you as a person do. I'm certain you remember Rivenwall, the old human purist city. It has since become a prison city to accommodate those who attempt to defy the law of the land. I will not tolerate bigotry in my nation at all." She stood up, walking over to the window to enjoy the warmth from last rays of the sunset. "Trusting to let a vampire into my capital? Yes. Because I will know when you decide to become someone who does evil acts just to do them." She looked back to Nokomis. "Are you ready to train?"

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."
The mention of her human name, Isabella, made the vampire cringe visibly yet she was quick to avert her gaze, turning toward the side as she looked around once more. Her eyes trailed on the one she had been speaking with prior to her entrance, studying each move and reading everything but she flicked her gaze back to the 'lady' as she spoke more whilst her hands touched the scabbards of her blades.
Sjach and Amuul, Shadow and Void. Twin swords, yet different in every way. She tensed with each passing second as Liliana, what her name had been - at last revealed - spoke of Nokomis (Isabella) on a very personal scale. It was as if she could feel the eye-witch peering deep into her, like nails through old rotted wood, digging up of what laid beneath the rough exterior.
She unknowingly clenched each scabbard but didn't make a move, only poising herself to slide each saber on the fly if something were to occur. Which nothing did.
Train? Larger role? She listened more but still kept her hands gripping each sword she carried. Her brow drew down as if this woman spoke of her like some prophecy foretelling a hero in one of the many epics and poems she used to read as a little girl. Used to.
She eased herself when the woman sat down and didn't speak yet she had all of her focus on her surroundings during that moment, her biggest concern was the one whom left. Where did she take off to, what sort of ploy laid underneath this prophetical speech the leader spoke of, who was she to try and dictate what she would do?
What am I thinking, I owe her my life. Yet her mannerism of speech troubles me so. The gods must love to toy with me since my 'death'. What is this bigger role?
Nokomis eased herself more and listened more to what this woman spoke of and went on about the races, old ways and of course Rivenwall. The name rung a bell but she dismissed it, she disowned every connection to her former life ever since the day she took the name 'Nokomis'. 'Yes, but I rather not remember it. I have sore memories of Rivenwall. I would rather not relive that troubled time."
She reached up then and pulled her hood over her head as the woman walked toward the window and she hissed loudly at the glare of sunlight. It stung, burned and weakened her, all the more reason to hate the light.
"Hmm. Trusting, maybe so. Overly? Maybe. I know not for sure how powerful you can sense so I shall not press that. But I feel you power even now, I'd rather not test that theory." Nokomis said with disdain, mocking her own pride and held back her frustration to actually admit she was far weaker than this seer. Nokomis disliked Seers for quite a few reasons, the biggest one of them peering into her damned past.
"Besides, I know not to hunt in a city. Human blood is too stale, and the risk of one cursed with Demon-Blood (Black Blood race) is too great. Even then, I rather not risk the death of someone to sate my thirst. Leads to... complications."
But she turned around, facing the vampire asking one simple thing. Was she ready to train?
Nokomis took a sigh and looked off to her side. Deep in thought she finally looked up. "Onureth vi lauth youwei. I ask that you speak not of my human name. I disowned that long ago, I am Nokomis Ruthven; Isabella is dead and I haven't heard that name in over a century. Second, what is this bigger role you speak of? I pay my debts, but I rather know what it is I'm getting into. There's a reason I am no longer a sellsword for there are things that even I will not commit myself to doing."
She took a heavy breath and touched her amulet first, recalling on a few of her memories with her late cousin. Fencing, clashing at each other with sticks, empty promises of being known as a 'knight'. To hear training, along with mention of the name Isabella, nostalgia kicked in and hard.
"But nonetheless, I am. Just know I will not commit myself to atrocious acts. Forget my question, I won't press on it any further for the less I know, the better."

Liliana chuckled. That's what they all end up saying. Well, she would not take their oblivious disposition from them forcibly. The last ray of sunset vanished from the window as night finally bloomed over the palace grounds. "The acts I might ask of you will not be as horrible as you fear. For now, you need to train. Are you ready?"

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."
With a deep breath, Nokomis sighed inwardly at the passing of day to night. Alas, tis was her best time of any day. Her shadow 'magic' was stronger, she wasn't hindered by the sunlight either -- this would lead to her greatest potential. The vampire crossed her arms with closed eyes for a deep thought, considering the choices. What would happen if she were to back down from the request in the end? There were a few things to consider but in a way it'd be a win-win type of situation. 'Needing' to train was one of them had she grown weaker in the passing of time. She would not serve this woman, no. This was a matter of repaying a debt and in addition a chance to reap an opportunity for herself. To learn what she could of the present world and grow back to her former strength.
Now that I think of it, my regeneration has been stunted. Not as effective as it was before. Nokomis thought more on it. Fine. A beneficial relation to one another, perhaps she could twist this to her advantage some time down the road. But for now, Nokomis knew enough of what was to be done. If the seer would peer into her, which is certain that this powerful magic could do, she'd not care but only smile then.
To ask of me? Interesting.
Her smile fading, she looked up and kept her hood. With a smug still, she replied. "I been ready, 'bout you?"

Liliana smiled. "Of course I am ready. We will head for the training grounds. Don't need to upset the guards here watching me 'being attacked' by someone," she laughed as she walked for the door.
"The world is fragile, just like the minds of men and can be easily changed."
Escher flew in through the door. He straightened himself out and land on the ground. He folded his wings and let them fade away. He looked around for Evvie. He had hoped she would still be around, or maybe even find the lady himself.
