"Thank you, Menolly. But don't give me all the credit. You helped, too," he pointed out, smiling warmly at her then popping the rest of the piece of tuna he had taken into his mouth. "And...and you can call me Nicholas if you want to. See, Wolfwood's actually my last name," he explained, his cheeks coloring again. He normally introduced himself as Wolfwood but, for some reason, he wanted her to know his real first name. He just hoped she wouldn't be mad that he had kept it from her until now.

"You think so?" he asked, glancing down at her while he tore off another strip of tuna and pushed it into his mouth. While he chewed on the piece of fish, he started to wonder himself why he always left out his first name. It came back to him after a moment and he decided she should know that too. "You know, I had forgotten why I'd stopped introducing myself as Nicholas Wolfwood. Everybody always called me by my last name so I stopped including 'Nicholas'.. Guess it grew into a force of habit. Dunno why I decided to go back on that now, though," he said more to himself than to her, scratching thoughtfully at his stubbly chin.

Menolly took another piece and chews slowly as she listened to every word he said. Maybe it wasn't a secret, but that was still neat that he decided to tell her. Thinking, she to wondered why he did, and wondered even more about what to respond. The question was not directed to her; however she still wondered why with him. Playing with a strand of her long bangs, she thought and offered an answer, "Maybe you like being called by your first name sometimes, too." That could be it, she thought.

"Maybe," Wolfwood admitted, nodding slightly. "But that doesn't explain why it didn't come up until now.." He frowned slightly then shrugged and went for another piece of tuna. "Could just be something to do with you.."

Menolly's brows came together a moment, she wondered if she was a bad influence or something. She reflected, and dropped her contemplative look for the more joyful carefree look that fit her so well.
"Is that a bad thing?" She did ask, her head tilting to the side as she looked inquisitively towards him. Right now, she just felt like being playful.

"Er...well, no. It's not a bad thing. Just..different," he said, hoping he wasn't blushing when he glanced at her. She looked so cute with her head tilted like that! x3 ..."It's been a long time since I told someone my first name.."

Smiling more, her golden eyes danced as they met his eyes. She honestly didn't know why she felt the way she did, with her heart speeding up a bit just by looking at him and how there was a different feeling when she was touching him then her family. Sure, there was a warm feeling when she touched her family, but there was something about Nicholas something that she hadn't quite put her finger on yet.
"Thank you for telling me, Nicholas." His name was really nice to say too, how many times has she thought that? Not really thinking about it more then that, she just kept looking up at Nicholas, only looking away to eat a last piece of the food, she didn't need more, all she felt she needed in that moment was to just be where she was.

"Umm, you're welcome?" Wolfwood replied then smiled, eating a bit more before he too decided he was finished. "Do you want anymore, Menolly?" he asked her, adjusting his hold on her so he could lean forward and set the plate down on the coffee table.

Menolly looked to the plate and shook her head looking back to Nicholas, "No thank you, I am full." She was, and very satisfied with what she had eaten and the company she was in. Now that her hand was no longer used to grab food, she used that also to hug Nicholas, snuggling a bit more and resting her head against his should looking up at him, smiling warmly and happily. She was also more then willing to move if he needed to, so long as she was close.

"Ok. I'll wrap that up and save it for later then," he said, sitting forward and setting the plate on the table. Then he leaned back and snuggled comfortably into the seat cushions, wrapping both arms around Menolly. "What would you like to do now? Truth be told, I'm content to just sit here like this for the rest of the day," he commented then blinked, flushing brightly.

Menolly's blush grew to match his nearly, "I am happy right here." Then she reflected on something and told him, "I feel special when I am with you, Nicholas. I mean, I felt loved and important to my family; however, theres just something about how I feel when I am with you that doesn't quite touch that. I do not completely understand it, but I know that I really like how I feel when I am around you." Her words were soft, and her blush slowly increased, however, her eyes never left his, shining warmly and fondly the whole time that she confessed a bit of what she was feeling.
She didn't understand, but did have that same feeling that she wanted to hide everything. In that respect, she had grown up in body and sprit.

Wolfwood's blush steadily deepened as Menolly spoke and he found himself lost in her pretty gold eyes. When she finally finished speaking, he cleared his throat and managed a sheepish smile. "Well, you are special Menolly. And I'm glad that being around me makes you feel that way.." He paused then pressed on, blushing again. "Maybe you have a crush on me.." he suggested, clearly disbelieving despite all those things she had said.

Menolly watched his expression the whole time, finding it cute that he blushed more. The he spoke of the word 'crush' and she looked confused a moment. Searching her mind and past experiences, she searched for the meaning of that word. She remembered her mother telling her that she'd find someone she loved, a different love for what she had with her family. That was when she was pregnant with Sabell and Menolly had just turned into a teenager.
As the meaning became clearer in her mind, her expression changed from confused to certain. That had to be it, but what she didn't understand was, if crushes and love were close to being the same thing or many degrees apart. Perhaps she didn't know right that moment, but she didn't feel that she had to, she trusted that it would make even more sense every moment she was with Nicholas.
Pulling her legs to the side, she just got even more comfortable and sat there enjoying where she was. "I think thats it, no, I am sure it is." Giggling out of just bubbled over happiness, she was glad to understand and the term felt right, maybe lighter then what she might be feeling but that was not an issue to her.

Wolfwood watched her face closely, wondering what she was thinking and hoping to get an idea from her expressions. But all he saw there was confusion and then certainty. When he realized he wouldn't get any other info that way, he sat back and waited patiently and when she finally spoke, he opened his mouth to say something but forgot it as it came out. 'She actually has a crush on me?'
