He smiled as she commented on the zoo and the cable car, "You're acting like you're a little child..." he teased, "But, that's ok, it's good..." he tried to cover, wondering if it was the wrong thing to say. "Here it comes..." he said and helped Ginny on, getting on himself. "I promise you a fun night, Ginny, and you can hold me to that." he told her, expression solemn, tone teasing. "You wanna sit?" Ginny stuck her tongue out at Chris. "You're just saying that because anything I wear is obviously better than my diner uniform..." She trailed off when she heard the cable car coming down the tracks as well as Chris's next comment. "Well, I'm sorry I don't want to act like a boring adult. I'm only 19 after all." She playfully glared at him but turned when she could finally see the cable car. When it came to a stop, Chris helped her on and started to talk about the night. "I'm sure it will be fun, and I'll stand, too." She wrapped her arm around his waist when she felt his arm around hers. I haven't done this in forever... she thought, staring at the floor with a blush on her face. It feels so nice...

"You're blushing..." he whispered to her, one arm on the pole the other around her waist. "And we're almost there." he promised. Smirking, Chris added, "And we can see the giraffes first." another chuckled escaping his throat after that. Ginny smirked and decided that she would hold onto the center pole rather than put both arms around Chris. That would be a little too weird for her on just their second date. "So?" she asked, glancing up at him only to see just how close he was. She blushed again and returned her eyes to the floor. "I know... I've been listening to the woman announce the stops..." She turned her head to look out the window and saw that the zoo would be the next stop. Hearing Chris mention the giraffes, Ginny chuckled softly. "We don't have to do that." she said, looking down at her ring. "They aren't exactly close to the entrance and I don't want to skip over any animals." Smiling, she felt the cable car some to a stop and slowly moved her arm off of Chris. She took his hand, though, and walked with him off the cable car and toward the entrance of the zoo.

"As a matter of fact, yes," Ginny said as seriously as she could with a smile on her lips. "I like to look at all the animals just in case I catch one of them doing something interesting." As they walked over to the aardvarks, Ginny placed a hand on the glass that separated the humans from the animals. "For example, the last time I was here my s... sister and I saw a pair of chimps swinging around on their ropes. They're usually just lying around so we thought it was really cool." Ginny avoided Chris's gaze for the moment, hoping he did not catch her almost slip up.

Ginny covered her nose with both hands after Chris flicked it. "You think my nose is big?" she asked, worried. She had always been self-conscious about her body after having Alex. She did everything she could to make it look like she never had a child, but things started to bother her beside her stomach. Frowning, Ginny closed her eyes when Chris kissed her cheek but she opened her eyes and followed him anyways. He didn't mean it like that, Gin... she told herself, looking at the meerkats. After all... what kind of guy seriously calls a girl furry...?

Ginny allowed Chris to take her hand and drag her along. We probably shouldn't look at all the animals... she thought, remembering what time it was and what time the zoo closed. Plus, she had to pick up Alex and hopefully go to bed earlier than last night. "Why don't we check out the reptile house? It isn't that far away, right?" Ginny went over the map of the zoo in her head and remembered that the reptile house was just a few animals away. "What's your favorite animal, Chris?" she asked, realizing she did not know the answer.

Although, I like the ones voiced by Eddie Murphy." he chuckled again, happily being led to the reptile house. "So, I know you like snakes, but what about frogs and lizards? "'Donkeys'?" Ginny asked in disbelief. When Chris explained his reasoning, she chuckled and shook her head. "Gotcha." Smiling, she pushed open the door to the reptile house and allowed her eyes to adjust to the dim lighting before walking down the hallway. Alex had not been a fan of the snakes or lizards, but when one of the animal handlers had a snake out for people to touch, he could not help but join the other kids and pet it as well. Ginny smiled at the memory and paused in front of the Tuatara. "I used to have a pet iguana..." she said softly. "It got of its cage, though, and my parents and I could never find it..."

He allowed Ginny to lead him around, looking at all the different reptiles, almost shuddering at the anaconda. "I grew up on a farm, so I had a lot of... er... pets, but no reptiles." he chuckled, squeezing Ginny's hand. "Did you really?" Ginny asked, surprised by the fact Chris had just revealed. She looked up at him, trying to picture him feeding chickens or milking cows or plowing fields... Feeling a blush rise on her cheeks as she imagined him half-naked, Ginny quickly turned to look at the lizard Chris was pointing to. "Wow! That one's so cool!" She smiled and glanced at her date. Is it wrong for me to feel this way about him already...?
