He had listened intently while Kagome spoke of not being scared, and all because Inuyasha was with her and it made him smile slightly. Although upon smiling he immediately thought back to his best friend Hojo. What would he think of Kagome ever told him about her life with Inuyasha? Shaking the thoughts away he began thinking of exactly how he arrived in the Feudal Era. "To tell the truth, I've been here twice. The first time, I was just a little kid and I fell into the river back in our world and was transported here. They told me about some Saint Hakushin guy, that I was him, and gave me his bow." spoke Keita before indicating to the bow on the ground in front of him.

"The second time I came is when the Sacred Jewel was shattered into pieces. While I was walking along the same river to see if what happened was just a dream, I saw the pieces of the jewel scattering around on the reflection. When I went to reach out to one of them, my hand glowed and I was pulled into the river again, and I woke up here. Now, the monks at Saint Hakushin's temple tell me I'm supposed to go and help make the Jewel whole. I've got a shard with me right now too." As his hand slipped into his pocket, an extremely pure light emitted from the shard as it left his pocket and was revealed in the palm of his hand. He had heard that the jewel could only be purified by certain people in the world, and so, he could only assume that his powers were real enough to purify such a strong object.

Inuyasha grunted softly toward the cat. He did not like being told what to do. He was about to yell at at Stian but his voice was nowhere to be found. Before his eyes, he watched the confrontation with Sesshomaru, that woman and his shadow. He didn't neccesarily see his shadow as he was staring out through his eyes. His eyes flashed red momentarily but he managed to force his demon side back. He had no idea that this control had been granted because of his connection to his shadow. Snapping his mouth shut, Inuyasha slid back against a tree, his hand on Tetsaiga just in case. He wouldn't allow Sesshomaru to hurt someone in his pack. It didn't matter that not 24 hours ago, she wasn't. Sesshomaru had failed in his duties to his pack and Inuyasha had to take up the slack. It was honor and Sesshomaru now had revealed unknowingly to him that he was starting to lack that honor. Their father would be appalled. Without his knowledge, he had vanished into the shadows and the only one who could see him was Stian since the cat himself was a part of the shadows. Only Stian would understand the fact of what was happening to Inuyasha. The only thing that remained was Inuyasha's scent and even that would be untraceable as his aura enveloped the entire cliff side. The only other thing verifying his position was the fact that his eyes were beginning to seep red from his anger.




Hotaru blinked in surprise. So this Yoko wasn't a simple thief. She could understand that. She listened quietly, her attention completely focused on him. When he mentioned So'unga, she instantly stiffened. That blade belonged nowhere in this land. She had access to pretty much all of the more powerful weapons that fallen heros had claimed as their own. Before Inuyasha had claimed the Tetsaiga, she could have called upon the sword at any time. It was well known she could access blades from hell to youkai. She had kept her lips silent when it came to the rest of the weapons. Either way, retrieving a weapon used up alot of her power and energy so she had concocted tests for people to gain the weapons they sought. None had ever passed. It had been a shame during the time So'unga had escaped her grasp. She had been purely lived at the time. Upon her search in hell, she had been relieved to find General InuTaisho back in possession of said sword. He had released it to her instantly.

Feeling his emotions about the matter, her body relaxed. She was happy to know he knew of nothing else. That would be best after all. It helped that her 'vault' wasn't truly a vault but something created by her own power that was kept hidden by all deep below her castle in the Shadow Realm and protected by yet another dragon. Only there was a whole clan of dragons that protected it. Having her own vault on this side destroyed had caused disatisfaction to erupt in her at the time and had secretly transported everything within to that specific vault. Stupid Sesshomaru. The damn dog had cost her a lot of energy at the time. She had been foolish to seek his help and now she was indebted to him. Displeasure shot through her, seeping through the bond momentarily as well as partial pain.

Focusing back on Yoko, her eyes momentarily widened. She had missed the initial beginning and had only half heard his words. In his palm, that was now bloody, she saw a single seed. Then she felt the thrum of his power shoot through the bond to her, which caused her to gasp in surprise. It had definitely brought her beast's attention to the fore. She watched as vines began to sprout and then watched it double in size as soon as it hit the water. Her eyes watched the plant engulf the spring around them, blocking all from entering. As the buds formed, she inhaled softly, a soft smile on her lips. She hadn't seen this specific flower in centuries. The last she'd seen it was as a child. Her mother used to grow them.

Dropping her hand to the water, a small distant smile appeared on her lips. She was remembering her past and it was a pleasant memory, one of few. Lifting her hand, she gently touched one of the blooms lovingly. Finally, her gaze moved to Yoko and she stilled at his look. She felt heat shoot through her body and she gave a sharp inhale, breathing in a lot more of the flowers scent. Lust began to simmer within her. Her eyes darkened momentarily, even as her lips twitched. She should have known. She watched him rise from the water, her pulse beginning to speed up momentarily. She forced it back into submission. Her beast was already testing the lengths of the courting mark and using it taste his power. She could only feel bits of it here and there but that was it.

Rising herself from the water, she watched the water drizzle down his chest. Licking her lips, she tilted her head to the side, no longer appearing innocent but more like a seductress. Everything below her stomach was covered by water. She moved over to him. Usually Dog demons mated for life but Hotaru had gained a somewhat flightly attitude towards male because of her close contact with Hakoto over the years. Whatever her beast claimed though, she guarded it with a vengeance and mercy be on the one that took it.

Reaching Yoko, she placed a clawed hand on her chest. Her voice had turned husky. "You say you will grant me what I need? You say you can indulge whatever my whims?" Her eyes darkened as she used a claw to cause a scratch to appear. Her gaze remained focused on Yoko's eyes. Her beast was slowly coming to the forefront, sharing their mind. "You have yet to prove that you are capable Yoko. You have yet to even dominate this Hotaru." She smirked as she turned from him, brushing against him lightly. She headed back to the other side of the hot spring, her reddened gaze taking in the petals and blooms around her.

The Shikigami weaved through the forest, jumping over growing roots as they tracked Hotaru's scent. Masato made his way while avoiding these natural obstacles. Where she had gone? Why would she run off just like that? For her to change so suddenly and take off like the wind, something must have snapped. He wasn't sure what exactly it was, but it was something that he could expect to be wrong in his eyes. If he were to find her, perhaps he would be able to discuss what had happened back in the camp and the odd behavior she emitted. He slowed down and rested himself against a nearby tree as he panted from running. There wasn't much energy left in his body to make a long track, he was tired and it was late at night that he may pass out from drowsiness. His Shikigami returned to him and gathered around to check up on their master. He gathered his breath and looked over to the Shikigami who have returned to him. They barked and wined as he inhaled and exhale, trying to further push Masato to go beyond to find Hotaru. He smiled and nodded. "Let's keep going." He muttered. The Shikigami turned around and scatter through the forest floor. With a burst of his stamina, he pushed himself to follow after his spirits.

Once he had caught sight of them, the foxes made a sudden stop at a netting of plants that blocked the path. He glanced at his Shikigami and return his attention to the netting of plants. The Shikigami sat patiently in front of the flourished floral wall. From the looks of it, there were thorns and flowers that surrounded the wall and it seemed to curve slightly in shape. Strangely, there was a feeling about the wall of plants, almost as if they were to keep someone out. He was uncertain, but a vague idea that Hotaru may have crossed through these bundle of plants that block the path. He would have to figure out how they were gonna make passage with this greenery. He didn't possess any weaponry to cut down the plant life, only a few Shikigami was all he had to present .He looked at his Shikigami and nodded, approaching the barrier slowly. As he got closer, there was a faint smell of flowers coming from behind the wall, but the smell wasn't his concern. "I'll have to make a path through these plants..." He stood in place, closing his eyes and concentrating to draw out his spiritual power. Each Shikigami crouched, ready for their master's orders. Everything was silent on his end and only the sounds of the forest behind him were just as quiet. He opened his eyes as he waved his hand in front of him "Go Shikigami!" A faint aura for each of the fox spirits as they pushed off from the ground and fling their bodies towards the plant.

Rin froze when Inuyasha's gruff voice pierced the darkness. "Look here kid. It doesn't matter. If you once saw that b*****d as family, that means you got me as family too. He is my half brother anyways. You can stay with me and Kagome. Now stop your damn blubbering. Who cares what that b*****d has done. There is no point in wasting your stupid tears over an a*****e like that. Sides, you got that idiotic fox now. Now why don't you stop your blubbering and get back to camp. I don't want to have to stay out here the rest of the night protecting you. I got better things to be doing."

She rubbed at her eyes. "You don't understand how I feel." She said. "You couldn't possibly know! I took this curse, because I thought he would love me! That he would make me his, and I could be with him forever." More tears rolled down her cheeks. "Now that dream is impossible. Ripped away from me, by her!" The word her sounded almost venomous, dripping off her lips like acid. "Koto? He's not mine. He wants to court me, but I don't know how I feel about that. And as for protecting me? I don't need you to. I can take care of myself. Always have, always will." She turned away, staying where she was as he was by the trees.

Rin stiffened again when she heard Sesshomaru's voice. His emotionless voice. "Know this if you do take your life I cannot bring you back Rin..." She didn't turn to face him. She couldn't even bring herself to look at him. "What do you care, Sesshomaru?" No longer would she call him 'my lord'. For he was not hers. She was no longer his ward. "You don't love me. All you know is betrayal and pain. Now you have your new b***h, you can let me rot like you should have at the beginning. I am none of your concern anymore."

Kagome Higurashi

Kagome was relieved when someone caught her although she was rather shocked at the fact that it was Sesshomaru although Kouga had tried to catch her and for the most part he had. She looked to Sesshomaru and was about to say something but he was gone and she was pulled into a hug by Kouga. She felt her cheeks going slightly red but she pulled away slightly before saying, "I'm fine Kouga. Thanks for all of your help though." Kagome just hoped Inuyasha didn't walk in on Kouga hugging her or it'd be another fight between the duo like they always did when the other got too close to her. Although she was pretty sure that she'd made her choice in which one she wanted to be with. Kagome slid out of Kouga's embrace and said, "I don't like the fact that Sesshomaru's here. We need to find Inuyasha and Rin before Sesshomaru." Kagome didn't know what type of trouble Sesshomaru had in mind but Kagome was sure that it couldn't be anything good. So Kagome quickly scooped up her bow and arrows before racing in the direction Rin, Inuyasha and Stian had gone.

Now then...

It is true that he did not know the specifics about Lady Hotaru’s vault, she would be able to tell by feeling him out through the bond. If he did know then if he had any desire to attempt theft then it would not be a matter of just tearing through the protections like berserk. He’d study it from all angles and come up with the most cunning, the most crafiest of ways to get past each obstakle. That is how he works. But alas, he has no real interest to invade her vaults, unless she gives him reason to. He had pulled a seed from his hair and providing a bit of blood sacrifice he added a little of his will and youki to make it grow, doubling in size as it touched the water and soon surround the entire spring in a tightly netted wall of thorns and white roses.

He observed her as she watched the growth of the plant and the blooming of flowers, like a child seeing something she knows and feels a sense of peace with. It seems he had chosen wisely this plant for his purposes to take advantage of the situation. She had asked why he doesn’t take advantage. And only a fool wouldn’t take advantage of this precise situation, they are both naked, sitting in a hot spring under the moon and starlight. It can’t be a more perfect romantic setting, so he added that element of stimulation and beauty to the scene. When he spoke and stood up, he had caught her attention, breathless like catching a fish out of the water before throwing it onto the beach. She had inhaled a stronger dosage of the stimulant scent of the roses. The effects were almost immiediate.

”I see…then let me demonstrate.” He said softly, Shuichi will require some time to recover when he turns back to his human self. But if she wished to be impressed, then perhaps it is about time he shows her the real him. He closed his eyes, ignoring the tiny trickle of blood that began to bead out on his chest from the little cut she made on him. There is at first a suttle thrum of power from him, but then that tiny stream of energy gradually grew, becoming much more then a trickle. At first nothing happened but then the water began to ripple away from his person as he unlocked the walls on holding his youki in check and opened the flood gate so to speak. The air began to shimmer and cause the air to stir which ruffled his silver hair. The mist that already covered the area from the hot spring began to gradually thicken a little at a time. But it wasn’t because of the his youki or anything and it wasn’t even the mist that began to thicken. No, forest from here, stretching out back to where he marked his territory around the camp began to creak and groan as if in high winds, the trees themselves loomed anomalously as his youki gradually grew. It’s the kind of feeling that makes old ancient forests seem so intimidating to intruders.

At this point there are crackles of energy beginning to flash here and there around them and around Masato as he tries to use his shikigami to break through the wall of rose thorns. Crackling black electrical flashes that began to gradually get larger till they covered the area in a dome barrier. At this point black and silvery fire began to broil around the hot spring and conviently for Masato around him too, he be wise not to touch it or Yoko youki will cause severe harm. He then opened his eyes to gaze at Lady Hotaru. His eyes remained golden and passive. He isn’t using nearly as much youki to turn into his true self. But he feels this is enough of a demonstration of his raw demonic energy. ”Now, what do you say. Or does your beast wish to see this one in his true form?”

The Shikigami continue their assault, however it seemed their attacks were ineffective. His suspicions were growing that such a thick net of plants were covering a section of the forest. It was unusual where it had grown and compact, however they still couldn't break through such a strong plant barrier. Was he not strong enough to even break way to find Hotaru? While his thoughts were wrapped with curiosity and wonder, the scent of flowers were growing stronger and leaked through the layers of plants. Ever since he was busy attacking, the strange smell was growing from within the layers it had been covered. He hadn't taken much consideration until now, just a sweet smell was coming from behind the small fortress. He would have to figure what plant was emitting such a sweet scent, but was the plant toxic? Either way, he had already inhaled a bit of it over time so it was bound too late to even avoid going up close. He had become reckless of his actions and his attacks were inevitable.

His Shikigami were doing all they could to break the barrier, but every hit that were getting nicked by the thorns protruding from the stemming network. Before he could call out the attacks, a sudden surge of energy waved from behind the plants. This strange feeling he was getting, it was emerging from behind. A pulse of energy went through him, gaining a feel that it was a large amount of demonic energy being released. Had he intruded to something that he believed to be an obstacle? A crackle of energy was whipping around and striking in each direction. It had become too dangerous now that he had been assaulting the wall of plants. One Shikigami looked in his direction and a sudden howl towards Masato, a voice was speaking to him that came from the creature. He backed away when a single energy crackled past his direction. "Retreat! Get Ou-" He called out, but his voice cut off when a single strand of energy strike his Shikigami. It was too late, he watch as his Shikigami had been shredded by a single strike of demonic energy. Each one of them began to disappear except one who was dirtied and laid limped. When the power subsided, he rushed over to his last remaining Shikigami from the surprise attack. He picked up the fox spirit and held it in his arms. He caressed the small creature, it whined as it was still in pain. He could tell it was gonna die soon. Especially when he felt that pulse of energy that had come forth all of the sudden and each Shikigami had vanished, the strength of that power remained engraved in the back of his mind.

While he held the creature, he thought back to what just happened. When he attacked the barrier, he couldn't do anything but watch his spirits attack without a second thought even they had disappeared in front of his eyes, the onslaught of a single bolt of energy. "I'm sorry, I had you go out there and put you all in danger..." The Shikigami looked at him and it's jaw moved almost like a person. Everything was silent, the Shikigami began to fade in his arms and from his sight. His arms loosen, there wasn't any speck of life left. He was speechless now that his small friends had left him. He looked at the barrier, he couldn't sense the demonic energy coming from it no more. he had been spared, but not his spirits. He shook his head and stood up, he had to recollect himself and wondered what kind of yokai had released such a strong power that overcome his familiars. He stood there, thinking what was there to do next. His only option left was returning back to the camp, he had failed to go retrieve Hotaru back from her disappearance.
