 Maisujin Kazayo Kinja rolled his eyes at Lyre's reply. If I had intended to take her out.. I wouldn't have bothered warning her,he thought grimly. He sheathed the altered katana, noticing it still had the subtle serrations on the blade's edge along with the faintly glowing reddish gold edge to it before he stalked after the trio in a flowing stride.

Marth said nothing to the ones that were following him, he just kept the slow pace that had and lost himself in thoughts. The power of light...What is now within my grasp? He did his best to keep from awaking Crystal, this was her first real chance for sleep in a while and he try to let her have the rest that she needed.

Crystal murmured something in her sleep too soft for human ears. Lyre couldn't help but smile and chuckle at what only she heard clearly.

Marth cast a sideways glance towards Lyre and he asked "Why did you chuckle?" He turned his eyes back towards the path that he was following as he led them towards the camp.

"She said four words," Lyre said with a smile that was completely Human. "Your name was the last word she said, young man. Seems she's been watching you for some time. Had to have been to say that. Either way it is a perfect match."

Marth glanced at Lyre with a raised eyebrow, but he chose not to push the matter. Instead he turned his head back towards the path as the camp slowly came into view and the woods thinned out more.

Marth said without facing Lyre "If you haven't already done so you might want to hide those features that make you stand out." He stopped at the edge for a brief moment before continuing his slow walk. He moved into the small field surrounding the camp.

Lyre laughed. "So nothing to say," she teased. "Crystal loves you, is that not good?" She had already done what he said though no Human was a match for her, nothing was a match for her anymore. Really she was hiding the extent of her powers to keep her safe from the one that had the katana. Crystal stirred but didn't wake. She only snuggled into Marth more.

Marth said nothing as he walked across the small field before the camp. He walked slowly knowing that the others will follow him into the camp. The other soldiers will not be comfortable with me bringing in others into this camp. He just hoped that they would get in quietly and without bloodshed. His feet dug into the snow with a soft crunch as he walked.

Lyre frowned and sent a thought right into his mind. If he had any defenses they were nothing to her. 'So what are your feelings for my daughter, young man,' she asked. Her thought bore no malice and her voice was like honey, sweet. She would not dare hurt the man her daughter loved. In fact she would do anything to protect him. Though she was a demon she was still human in some ways.

Marth sent her one of his own thoughts back 'Trying to make up for all those missed years?' He knew that it wasn't the smartest way to respond, but he was just a little overwhelmed by all that had happened today and what laid ahead of them.

'Give me a straight answer child,' Lyre thought weirily. 'I only woke as this...thing...a week ago when I was summoned. The man that did so died of course but I remain. I do not want to see her in pain, Marth. She should not suffer like she did any longer. Crystal needs you, do not leave her like her father left me when he learned I was carrying his child in me.'

Marth shook his head before replying 'In all the time that I have known her never once did I leave her. Even when her bloodlust became stronger reaching what it is now, never have I left her alone when she needed me. That is your answer now get out of my head and leave me in peace!' He could feel his muscles tensing as he covered the last of the field and came to the gate.

Lyre sighed and sent him one last thing. It was an image, a memory, of the first time she held Crystal. She put every bit of her love into it. She had not wanted to give up her beautiful baby with white hair and grey eyes but she had had to in order to protect her.
