"Fish. Yes. Please." Jordan had finally gotten his head out from under the blanket. He didn't move any further, though. The voice in his head was telling him to stay put, and lingering memory told him that most of the time the voice in his head was right when it said stuff like that.

Syd took a deep breath, then said all that needed to be said. "Yes," she told Sasha. "That's Rep, that's Jerry, that's Aleister, it looks like, and I'm sure we'll find out who the rest of them are soon enough. Hello, Candace, nice weather we're having, don't you think?" she finished, without missing a beat.

"I have his glasses," Sasha exhaled, then inhaled. Okay. Everything was going to be okay, these were just.. her friends. In penguin suits. They weren't ... eaten by penguins or .. okay, no. Think of something nice.
"I'll go find some sardines," Sasha mumbled, reaching down to give Jerry-penguin a distracted pat on the head. This was almost too much for the poor young woman to comprehend.
Dislodging her foot from beneath Jerry-penguin, Sasha stumbled towards the rest area. They had to have a few tins of something there, right?

Where did the nice friend go? Jerry had made delighted noises as he was pet, but now was alone and cold in the snow again. He made a disappointed quack before waddling after her a few steps, but stopped to tilt his head stupidly at the blankets.
That's a good penguin-snack, Roar urged him politely, Go... make a nest or whatever there.
"Are there fish?" Jerry quacked back, but spotted the dark-skinned human female towering nearby. Instinct said run. So he waddled, practically diving into the blankets. He had had enough of nearly getting eaten today!

"Get blankets," Jordan told the other penguins. "My head voice said so."

And then there were blankets. Blankets were strange.
He wanted one.
He tried to surreptitiously tug Jordan's one off him.

"Mine," Jordan told Rep sternly. He thought about that.
" ... mine but you can share."
OH MY JACK YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET THAT. Ferros howled with laughter.

This... made sense somehow. In a distant penguin sort of way. He wasn't sure why. But he could deal.
It took a lot of lining up brain cells to figure out how to get under the blanket though, by penguin standards it was a serious brain teaser. And Rep wasn't a hugely smart penguin.
After a bit of sitting on top of the blanket, he managed to realise there was such thing as an underneath and slunk under, popping his head out too and looking pleased.
"Share."
He didn't see the logical fallacy.

Oh, good. So they weren't lost. He didn't have any spares on him, so it was a relief to hear they were safe. A blind penguin was okay. She raised a brow at the noise Jerry made as Sasha pet him, giving the girl a pat on the back before she left. "They'll be fine. We'll keep an eye on them. And yes, Sydney. Beautiful weather! Now that I'm not freezing my a** off I can enjoy it to the fullest." She was grinning, looking down at the penguins. She wanted to know who they were, but she didn't want to find out because she'd seen them naked. Candace wasn't a prude by any means but that didn't mean she wanted to see, like...Jordan naked in the snow or anything. He was an attractive man, yes, but she didn't want her first time seeing a particular man naked was because he was freezing his a** off in the snow and looking might unimpressive if you know what I mean.
Oh, Candace. You have no idea how true to life your personal example is.
"..Awww cute! Look! They're sharing!" And Rep of all penguins. She wanted to know who the other penguin was oh god she had to know. She did watch as Jerry fled from the sight of her, though. She frowned. "My husband hates me." She sighed.

Syd dropped another blanket beside the two sharing one, figuring it might be useful, then dropped one beside Aleister, leaning down to pet his head--because, seriously, he was freaking ADORABLE as a penguin. "Who else needs one?" she called, putting the rest down. "They're right here, okay?"

"Dislike fishing. Want fish," Jerry pouted, setting his chin down on the edge of his blanket-nest as he waited for the nice human to come back. He spotted the two other friend penguins snuggling in their nest. Instinct told him the more in the cluster, the safer from seals and bears and things they were. With a urgent quack, he hoped out of his own blanket to waddle over and join the penguin pile. Yes, definitely warmer.
Happily, he settled his head down on top of the smallest penguin with the funny eyebrows.

[Entering]
"Okay!" Sasha was running back towards Syd and Candace; she nearly tripped twice on the ice, but was able to regroup and keep moving.
"Okay, I have three cans." She handed one to Syd and one to Candace before opening her own can. It stank horridly. Uughh, fish.
"Do I just.. throw the can at them? Or.. ah.. how? I've.. I'm not sure how to feed penguins."

"Don't bite Jerry," Jordan told Rep sternly as Jerry decided that the blanket pile was an excellent idea.
Then there was fish. Blanket. But fish. But blanket. But fish. He settled for chirping "Fish?" hopefully at Sasha.

"Oh, Sasha! Welcome back, rose bud." Candace grinned, holding a hand out for the can being offered to her and peeling it open. She made a face at the smell but contained it as best as she could. Gross. "I've never fed penguins before...I think we should just..hold the fish close enough for them to take without getting out from under the blanket, you know?" One of them was already responding!
Candace got down on her knees and plucked a sardine out of the can, holding it gingerly by it tail and holding it up close to Jordan. "How's this?"

"Ahh.. hah.. uh.. gosh."
Looking like she wanted to vomit, Sasha dug her fingers into the can of sardines, picking one slimy fish-strip up before she kind of.. dropped it in the general direction of the penguin's mouth. It landed on the ice with a wet sound.
"I might yuck."
