Combat 101
The finals. Frossa had finally made it to one of the last rounds, and was facing off against a battle scarred warmblood. They held a giant, two handed blade and frowned disapprovingly at the highblood. Frossa felt a chill of excitement run down her spine; this was going to be a good match.
The orangeblood lumbered towards her, swinging faster than Frossa had expected a few times in a fury of attacks. Lightly hopping back, Frossa managed to dodge his advances. It was a long, drawn out match, but Frossa's speed and size were to her advantage. It wasn't terribly often that she managed to get a blow in, but when she did- she struck hard and fast. Eventually the orangeblood threw in their white flag, dizzy from bloodloss and trying to keep up with the small girl darting around his legs.

Tactics 101
Tonight's lecture focused on strategy-in-the-large...battle tactics, that sort of thing. A complex board game was involved. Cheese thought she had wandered into the wrong class again.

Combat 101
Frossa's body ached from the last few days of combat training. It was hard work, beating around all the lowbloods; even some of the adults seemed wary of the highblood. She decided to attend one of the weapon demonstration, half dozing off as the adult demonstrated different types of chained weapons. They were a dull lecturer, and there were no brightly coloured troll-dummies to beat to a pulp. How boring!

Really? Were the instructors merely getting desperate for topics, now?
He knew, rationally, that caring for your feet was a good thing, and the instructors probably thought that it was an important matter, because when they ventured into the caves, they'd invariably need to search for a while before they found a mother grub. And their instructors were probably right. At the same time, though, the topic seemed so frivolous.
Alifax supposed that it just seemed frivolous to him - everyone else seemed to be taking notes avidly. He'd spent almost every night of his life, though, on the mountains, and without shoes. His feet were battle-hardened warriors if any part of him deserved the title. But he supposed he could listen to these safeguards against infection anyway - the illustrations the instructor had begun to pass around were frightening. He wasn't so sure that the herbal remedies that they were recommending were altogether necessary, though.

Heading towards the tent, Maihue had been expecting plants again. She was wrong. This time it was about muscles. She sat down and stared at the instructor.
"We need to study the muscles. You need to know how to deal with cramps and regular pains. Also what to do when those pains happen." The instructor passed out a massage booklet. Maihue stared at it, just completely confused. She looked up, puzzled. "This will help you help yourself. Now begin reading." He walked off to his desk and sat down. Looking down into the booklet, Maihue could see many techniques to massaging someone and making them feel better. But there wasn't just that, there were also ways to make someone hurt... Maihue read on into the booklet, completely immersed in what she was reading.

This time Cheese ended up at the combat arena, watching the tactics instructor berate every pair of sparring partners for "doing it wrong," but not actually learning much of anything from the experience.

Maihue had actually missed navigation, and wished she had spent more time. She walked onto the deck looking at the ground. She sat down and stared at the board below her. She heard someone talking and looked up. It was just someone talking to someone else. She sighed happily. It was really calm.. Everyone just seemed to be relaxing and talking about the class. She opened up her notebook and started going over the stars. Maihue smiled, and thought about navigation even more. She hoped she could go home and chart the stars after this was over.

Combat 101
Today was the final day of classes. Frossa decided her last few hours of military training were best spent with the weapons specialist blueblood she so admired. Their skills with ranged weapons was just simply remarkable! She was making her way through the lines of trolls practicing on (disappointingly) wooden dummies, giving pointers and correcting posture as usual. Frossa visibly brightened when the militant reached her, who promptly commented on how much the highblood's stance had improved. They had a short conversation on Frossa's improvement before moving onto a more in depth discussion on her battle technique. The blueblood spent a considerable amount of time with her compared to the rest of the primarily lowblooded class- much to Frossa's pleasure. What a great ending to an alright few weeks!
