Unfortunately Sasha didn't have a light. She did, however, have a kazoo.

Rifling around in her pocket, she wordlessly lifted it to her lips while still half-laying on Jerry and let out a succinct, "PTHHOOOOOOOBT."

Would it make Jerry feel better? Probably not. Did Sasha have a concussion?

Entirely possible.

Wait, there was a body on top of Jerry. Was this Sasha's? It took everything Candace had not to shove Sasha away, instead gently rolling her off Jerry. "..I don't have a flashlight and I don't speak kazoo, Sasha. Are you okay?" She frowned down at Jerry as he pleaded for light, moving to put his head on her lap. "Shhh, shh. It's okay. Here.." She gingerly tugged Roar closer while touching him as little as possible, turning him so his face glowed upon Jerry's face. She then took Atropos off her feet and placed her beside Jerry. More light. As much light as she could get.

"Sasha, put Nona over here, too? Please?" She asked in a gentle voice, giving one of Jerry's arm's a gentle squeeze. "Jerrbear, look. Light. It'll be okay. Do...do you want me to sing for you? I will. Promise."

"S-s-stop it! Stop it I'm fine, I'm fine I'm fine ok I'm fine," He finally gasped, finally over the shock of it at least as he gathered himself up to try to sit- only to find himself with a kazooing Sasha in his lap as his eyes adjusted to the dim combined glow of the weapons around them. Just... concentrate on the foreground. Pretend the background wasn't there. Breath. In and out. Remember to breath. Remember what would happen if he didn't shut up and go to bed and enjoy his 'mother ******** dolphin night light'.

Suddenly a fact that he had been too dazed and panicked to take in finally sank into clarity. "C-candace?" he turned to spot her, glancing away immediately, his voice turning cold, "W-what are you doing here?"

Ami practically sighed out all the oxygen in her lungs when Wilson's voice cut through the chaos. God it was relieving to have a subject change after that. Especially since the girl didn't seem to care at all. Didn't anyone have some class nowadays? It was ridiculous.

"Wilson? Yeah Wilson, we're over here," she said, blatantly not looking at Eva. All the awkward.

When Jerry tried to draw himself up into a seated position, Sasha shifted into a position where she could set her weapons next to Roar and Atropos with a soft groan. "She's helping us, Jerry," Sasha kind of sing-songed, her voice a quiet soprano. Helping them and.. kind of hurting them, too, though entirely on accident. Sasha ached in places she hadn't when she'd first landed.

"Is everyone okay?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 17, 2012 8:46 pm

"Fine! Fine.." Candace relented, letting Jerry go as he sat up. But she still watched him in the dim glow of their collective weapons, worry keeping her from feeling any kind of relief that he hadn't--there it was. The cold tone of voice. She frowned. "I was trying to use the microwave to pop some popcorn, but the kitchen didn't have a goddamn floor." She tried hard not to sound annoyed. How long had it been, Jerry? It'd been over a month. Come on. Stop this. Please. Just stop this.

"I didn't mean to fall on you two..and then the dark and...Jerry please don't do that." Stay calm. Don't let personal problems cloud your judgement and let a repeat of that one time happen. "How many others are down here?" Candace looked around, spotting the other glowing weapons all around them. "I'm okay...you guys broke my fall..."

Jerry drew in another sharp breath, trying to keep calm. The press of bodies all around him helped, at least, even if one of them wasn't... his most favorite person. But... but Candace meant well. He knew she meant well. It didn't mean he had to appreciate it. "Yeah, yeah, we noticed." He shifted, flushing as he realized Sasha was definitely still there. He had to set a good example. The girl looked up to them as the more experienced hunters. He had been working on this phobia. Just... just take it easy. Just remember to breath.

There was that noise again and he tensed, one hand going to drag Roar closer, the other reaching to find Sasha's hand. He kept telling himself it's to make sure she doesn't get lost. She's still inexperienced, it was their duty to keep track of each other. "You're alright, Sasha?" He tried desperately to keep the panic and tremble out of his voice. See? See he was getting better.

Right, Roar snickered, And not to upset Coco-bean?

He was being so cruel. Sure, she deserved it but it still ******** hurt. When would he let it go? Please. Just let it go.

Jerry reached for Sasha's hand and her chest felt tight, her eyes burning as she just stared at his hand holding Sasha's and not hers. It...it should be her he was reaching for. It should be her he should be making sure was alright. It should be her he was asking if she was okay.

She pursed her lips and closed her eyes, a hand coming up to cover her face as she tried to keep her cool, managing to keep back most of a small whimper that was trying to escape her. This isn't ******** fair.

"I think I'm okay," Sasha mumbled, lifting her free hand to feel around her face. There were some slight abrasions across one cheek from where she'd skidded across his sweatervest. Her head ached something fierce but it.. would probably be fine.

Hopefully.

Gripping Jerry's hand, Sasha reached forward for Candace's. "Should we check on everyone else? I-I'm going to be honest.. I'd rather just.. sit here."

Did that make her horrible? Gosh. Her head just ached so badly.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 17, 2012 9:07 pm

There it was again, and Jerry's head darted to lock onto the shadows enveloping them. "Did... did anyone hear that?" Before it could have been dismissed as one of the others nearby rearranging their weapon on the ground. But that... that was a growl. How close was it? He couldn't tell. Something was out there. There was always something out there, it was never just dark, dark came for a reason, darkness fell so *things could hide in it*. The irrational panic was back in his voice again, "I s-swear I heard something I swear-" His hand clamping on Sasha's like a vice grip.

Someone reached for her hand and her heart skipped a beat. She actually looked desperately excited as her hand dropped away from her face and she wasted no time in tightly grasping the hand that was reaching for her like she had missed holding it for weeks and weeks and weeks.

..Oh. It was Sasha..not Jerry. Jerry was still holding Sasha's hand. She swallowed hard and loosened her grip; she liked Sasha and all but right now it was not Sasha's hand she wanted to hold, nor was it Sasha's hand she wanted Jerry holding. She gently tugged her hand away from Sasha and crawled closer to Jerry as he began to panic about hearing things. Her lips brushed his ear as her voice dropped to a soft whisper for him only. "No matter what you're hearing, I swore I wouldn't let anything in the dark hurt you. And I meant it." She couldn't resist moving to press a kiss to the corner of his lips, though she did have to force herself to move away after that.

"You two can stay here. I'll go check things out." This was said to both Jerry and Sasha now. Candace stood, moving to slip her feet into Atropos' boots again.

Let him hold her goddamn hand. She didn't want to ******** see it. It hurt too much.

Oh, thank goodness. Sasha really didn't think she'd be able to stand up without feeling the urge to vomit. Her head was spinning, but thankfully the cave-thing they were in was dark, and that helped.

"It's okay, Jerry," Sasha whispered soothingly, patting his hand. He seemed like he was in a really bad place, and Sasha knew how that felt. It was just...

I think I've upset Candace.

Nona cackled.

It isn't funny, Nona.

The weapon made vague gagging noises.

Sasha sighed softly. She really wasn't sure what to do to make Jerry feel better. Candace had said she'd sing for him. Maybe she could offer the same? Or maybe some sort of other conversation to keep them occupied?

Sasha really just wanted a nap at this point.

"Want me to sing for you, Jerry? Would that make you feel better? Or ... we could play um. A game?" That was a weak suggestion, nicely done, Sasha.

Rin was so not expecting - nor prepared for this today. She was just grateful after such a fall that she managed not to land on Byr's blade. But she still landed flat on her back. She looked around as best she could in the darkness. Clutching Byr tightly to her chest... Just... pretending she died. Maybe then she could get some rest. She slid her eyes shut. Completely still and silent.

There was no response.

"No. Leave me alone." Her thoughts a soft distant grumble.

Silence again.

"G-g-g-get your weapon ready," Jerry murmured, still panicked as he scrambled to wobble up to his feet, easing her up as well before clutching Roar to his chest.

Candace had... at least taken the edge off of his concentration on the darkness around him, but that didn't make it any easier all the same. Concentrate, concentrate, don't panic, don't embarrass yourself, he was already on thin ice, just... just... breath. Remember to breath.

Remembering to breath shouldn't involve hyperventilating, guy.

"SH-SHUT UP I'M DOING THE BEST I CAN," He snarled, letting go of Sasha's hand to clutch his head.

Also remembering to talk to me quietly helps too, you know.

It was taking all of his willpower not to just fire blindly into the dark.

"Aha!" Thankfully, either by an entire fluke chance, or perhaps oddly enough she had known all along, Julie managed to find a switch, an emergency light set roped at the very top perimeter of the cavern turning on.

The area was still dim, but at least the trainees could see. The entire cavern was rather wide, impressive really, though other than a single tunnel that lead to a barred iron door, there as no other notable exit in sight. The ground underneath was an odd, rich brown colour, flecked with bits of black texture and oddly-

- Kind of smelt nice. Warm, a little homely, chocolat-ey almost. A few pieces of rather familiar objects could be seen strewn left and right half-buried: an old spatula, bits of a minipet cage, what looked like an older microwave model, egg beaters, the list wen on and on.

And stopped at an impressive fridge lying half-buried in the very center of the mound. Despite being rusted, despite being obviously not plugged in or useable the fridge was shaking.

With a sort of concerned curiousity, Julie went to examine the fridge, very lightly pulling the handle of it open.

Nothing happened. Oh phew, well, that was good news. As trainees looked around the mounds, they may have noticed that several of the large brown mounds were slightly larger and lumpier than others. Was it their imagination or had these mounds grown a little larger? In fact, if one almost squinted, it almost looked like they had a very sad sort of face, kind of like this:

It wasn't until one of them tried to devour one of the trainees whole, covering them in goopy, brown, and questionable chocolatey slime that perhaps the trainees had discovered that they were surrounded by these creatures.

If one could call Julie's cooking 'creatures'. Perhaps they had just come to life, wanting to be loved after being discarded for so long.

OOC: SLIME MONSTERS

THERE ARE SLIME MONSTERS EVERYWHERE, LEFT, RIGHT CENTER... RUN. No wait its a dead end, it looks like trainees will have to fight them!
- Roll dice mechanics as normal, but every time your trainee attacks they take 5 damage (make sure to put the amount of slime creatures taken out + your total HP at the bottom of your post). The amount of damage you do is the amount of slime monsters you take out. Keep on attacking: they are everywhere and regenerate ridiculously fast! , pausing for a second may mean your untimely (chocolat-ey) demise!
- Also I wouldn't touch them if I were you...
