Dundee felt his phone vibrate. Walking away from the group, he saw who it was . . . and his cheek felt a little hot. Not the other one, just the one she hit. He forgot she still had his number.

I think Arell's still pissed about the whole thing. As in he started smoking again . . . he texted back, looking back to the other two and paused. Sure, that cat was driving a hard bargain, but at this point, even HE was starting to consider the idea. Only thing that was stopping him was most of their friends were on the Bats' side.

By the way . . . does Artemis have any cousins or something? Arell found another talking cat in the desert. It's starting to worry me. he sent again.

Crystal looked down as her eyes started watering after reading Dun's first text. "Let him smoke. It never bothered me anyway. I'll understand if he never wants to see me again... Just let him know that he can do what ever he wants after the heroes get the kids out and if they haven't done so in two days that he can do what ever anyway..." She started slowly driving towards the Bat Jet after sending that text, staying off the roads.

Dundee looked at the text, reading it through thoroughly. Sighing, he replied.

I'll pass it on to him. I just hope y'all can patch this up someday. Dun replied before walking back to the others, shaking his head. A solemn sense of irony seemed to fill the situation.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she never wants to see ME again. Where does that sound so familiar . . . ?"

Search me.

"Nah. I'll search the forums later. I'm too disappointed right now."

Ok. Don't blame ya, bud.

Dun walked over to the others, shakin' his head. "Got a text from Catgirl. she says we can attack the moment the kids are out . . . can attack directly if we give 'em two days." he said, drained of emotion as he sat down. Now he done it . . . if only he kept his mouth shut . . . none of this would have happened.

Crystal drove around behind buildings and through alleyways to try and get her mind off of things. Frankly, it wasn't working. She just kept thinking about Arell to the point she stopped and took off her helmet to scratch her ears.

She felt like total s**t and nothing was going to help. As she sat there on her bike, she was too distracted by her own thoughts and sorrow to notice a gang of men in the early to mid twenties come up behind her. By the time she realized people were there she was surrounded and catching a led pipe that was aimed for the back of her head.
"Holly s**t."

She twisted off her bike, hitting the button on it with her tail to activate the armor. No one was going to make it away with that bike now.

As she flung her leg over she planted her foot right into the man's crotch and he toppled over. She looked around at how many there were and, counting twelve in sight, she figured there were more somewhere nearby. She was out manned this time, with no hope of making it out in one piece. She did the only thing she could think of, as she brought her foot up to attack another one that was coming at her she reached into her pocket and called the last person she talked to, Dundee and left the phone in her pocket.

Once he answered the phone he could hear sounds of fighting and male laughter.
"Give it up, girly, you're ours now. If my math's correct, you can't fight us all off." One of the men spoke. While he was still wearing street clothes, they were nicer than what the rest had on and the pattern of the color set was different. This was obviously their leader.

Crystal spit at his feet.
"I'd rather die than hand myself over to you freaks." She smirked as her tail flicked.

The man looked at her tail and smiled.
"And you're calling us freaks?"

Meanwhile, across town, Arell sensed something was up. Looking around from where he, Dundee and Crazy Cat were, he peered off, almost sensing trouble. It had been a little quiet . . .

. . . too quiet.

Arell paused. When Dundee broke the news about things, his mind immediately went to Crystal and would . . . not . . . LEAVE. Dammit, L'amour, FOCUS! he thought. But every time he'd think of the fight at hand, he'd drift over to Crystal. Was she okay? Where was she? Of course, when DUN got the phone, he handed it to Arell.

"What th' . . . hell. Dun', stay here wit' de cat." Arell growled, lighting up his cigarette as he got up. Sounded like twelve guys. The guns he had could hold a total of fourteen. Needless to say, if THIS was what he thought it was, the mods better get twelve coffins ready.

He did an ammo check as he went through the mental computer, hoping to use the location of Crystal's cell phone to pinpoint her last location.

"Dammit, Arell . . . " Dun cursed. Once again, that damn fool was rushing into battle with NO idea what he was up against. He then darted after him, hoping he could do something to get that gunslinger to start doing things like the REAL heroes do it and not some bat-s**t mercenary with a gun.

CC watched as Dundee and Arell both jumped up and took off down the street. "You know, I can teleport....no, we're just going to....walking? Okay, yeah. You're both too far away to hear me anyway." he said, stretching his paws out in front of him to stretch out his back. He did the same for his hind legs, then casually started trotting after the two men.

"Just relax, cat. Those idiots'll get it soon."

After all, this leads up to a big reveal! Can't do that on one post, can I?

"I mean, we could, but that wouldn't turn out ok."

Yeah . . . all part of the show.

"s**t! We're interacting with a character we aren't supposed to?!?"

Shhh!!! You didn't see aaaaaaaaaanythiiiiiiiiiiiing. Quick, Benoit! SCATTER!!!!

The cat just smiled to himself and chuckled soflty under his breath. "Don't worry about it. I'll gladly walk for an interesting plot. I was just offering." he said quietly as he paused on the side of the street. He watched the two vanish down the street, then vanished in a cloud of his signature black smoke. When he reappeared, he was hopping along the roofs of some of the smaller buildings. Easier to keep track of the duo from higher up.

Crystal kicked another man in the face, breaking the right cheek bone. She made sure to corner herself so that they were all coming at her from the front. She was fighting almost like a frightened animal as she tried to keep her own.

This wasn't good, how the hell did she let herself get so distracted for them to be able to of snuck up on her? This wasn't like her, typically she would of heard them coming up and she would of drove off with that many of them. but now it was too late, she was in this fight and she couldn't get out of it.

Two of the goons got in close, one holding a rope, the other a much bigger man.

"Well, boys . . . whaddawe have here? The guys back at the Institution are gonna really like this little gift . . ." the one with the rope said as he got closer. Hmm, we could get a big reward for this one! he thought, permitting himself a cruel chuckle, unaware that their kidnapping of Crystal was being picked up . . .

By Arell and Dun, who were tearing up the road, hoping to get to Crystal's location, her "ex" (so he thought) leading the charge.

"Dun', you pickin' up anythin'?" Arell asked, his Cajun accent almost adding a jagged edge to his gravelly voice.

"We'll be there soon. I just hope she's okay . . . dammit, why didn't we go with her!?" Dundee asked rhetorically. They KNEW why . . .

The big guy, she could handle. The rope on the other hand would become a problem. She reached into her jacket and snarled at the men before throwing one of her famous, quick acting, sleep kunai at the man's left shoulder. If it hit that would be close enough to the heart that it would only take him seconds to fall asleep.

While the big guy got hit, the fellow with the rope use the big guy as a distraction to start tying up the Catgirl. "Ha! You may a gotten Butch, but you can't get us all!" the man said, fortunately the group was overpowering. Had to be about . . . fourteen? Yeah, fourteen.

"Wait, HOOOooooollld it!!!"

What?

"Look, stupid."

The big guy she hit was staggering, the kunai sticking out of his chest as he fell over on his back, out cold.

"TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMMMMBEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!"

The big guy had stepped in front of the one with the rope right as she threw the Kunai, making her hit the wrong target. This surprised her because she rarely misses what she aims for, giving the little one time to get the rope around her.

Fortunately for her he wasn't tying up her tail. She used this to her advantage and used her tail in attempts to trip the little man before he could make the knot. If this succeeded she would take her boot to his crotch.

The others were having a right good time watching this, although if the little one went down as well their leader would signal for a few more to go after her. Thankfully they were acting like typical street thugs from Gotham.

Of course, this guy with the rope, still rather upset that his friend got kunai-ed and frustrated with getting tripped up, just made the ropes even tighter. He looked up over at the one who was speaking earlier. "Hey, boss? A little help here?" he asked, trying to hold down Crystal, despite twelve other guys standing there, looking rather menacing.

Meanwhile, Arell had managed to get close, but couldn't see what was going on. Jesus, is there a convention in town?! he thought as he tried to get in to get a better look.

"Hey, ya mook, nuttin' to see heah!" one of the Thugs told Arell . . . who responded by a fast THUMP to the head before drawing his guns. Dundee however, pulled Arell off to the side.

"Y'know, there really might NOT be anything to see here. Let's see how well this pans out." Dundee convinced.

"Yeah, you right, Dun'. Let's see." Arell replied, waiting for a hole he could sneak into, figure out what was going on.

Crystal's sensitive ears picked up Arell and Dundee's voices. She looked back at the guy tying her up and lunged at his face to try and bite his nose. She then takes in a deep breath and yells out to the two.

"Oh yah! NOW You wait to see how things are going? The ********? Get meh outta here!" She was just about in tears, they could hear it in her voice, only because they knew here. Otherwise no one else could see it. One of the perks of learning how to act at a young age.

With the attempt to bite the guy on the nose the boss sent in someone else to try and help take her down. To which she responded with a swift headbutt to his jaw from underneath.
