Considering capturing a Scyther in the future, since that would be one hell of a pokemon to trade, Gage continued to follow the Yamask while the ghost dithered and fretted over where the fossils could be. Gage was just taking it easy, letting his pokemon do most of the work.

Gage was poking around a pile of rubble when Yamask finally found what he was looking for - his treasure. Once, when Yamask was alive, once he was a trainer just like Gage, and he had beaten the Elite Four, became champion. That was a long, long time ago, and what he dropped in Gage's hands made the young man's eyes practically bug out - a MASTER BALL.
"Y- ... wha'? This is- ... You are THE BEST, YAMASK!"

Time for item hunting again. Gage wasn't sure that hunting for the super rare Eevee was the best use of his time anymore. He had just been hoping to get lucky, and that was no way to go about business. So, he decided. Pokemon team first, catch what he can along the way, and then come back and hunt those buggers down.

Yamask was at his side again, helping him search for more fossils. The two of them came across a small group of Sandile. Angry Sandile. Pissed off Sandile. Gage could only guess why they had beef with him, but he wasn't worried one bit. Yamask wasn't his choice for this battle, but it was Spheal again, with his own Sandile to help back him up. Three on three, Speal was the top attack with its ice moves, super effectively hitting. Soon the crocs were fleeing for their lives, and Gage snorted. Weak things, and he recalled all but Yamask again to continue on his way.

Moonstone, not bad for Nindrino or Skitty, was it? Gage noticed the sliver of black, black rock and picked it up. Yup, that'll do. He put it in his pouch as well and continued on. Shouldn't be much longer now before it was time to head back. Gage really wanted to see how deep he could get before he had to turn around, yet he really wanted to catch some more pokemon. And what he found so far was okay. But other than the masterball, his luck didn't seem to be holding very well.

A fossil? That would make for a hefty trade indeed. Putting it his bag, he decided he'd need a round team. He wanted the three enemental monkeys, do he needed a Fire, Water, and Leaf Stone. Well he might get all three if he traded an ancient Pokemon. He wasn't really interested in them anyways. Well, back to digging some more...
