Everyone running through a hallway with their weapons in a dark cave. This couldn't possibly go wrong. Harrison waited for a few other people to go first anyway, and there weren't any tips or trips. You ran. The arrows snagged you or they didn't.
"Good luck," he muttered to Candace.
He summoned B0nez.
If I trip, do me a favor and don't skewer me, he thought.
B0nez played an inspirational classic.

It was still dangerous. An arrow scraped past his arm, shredding his coat. Was he bleeding? He wasn't bleeding.

She'd totally called it on being cold in this place, that was for sure. Still, the darkness made her nervous and instinctively Cass grabbed for Marcus's hand. It wasn't so much that she was afraid of the dark - as she'd dealt with it far too much to fear it, but she couldn't see where they were going, and that lack of information along with how narrow the space was had her getting claustrophobic, the idea of hyperventilating strong in her senses.
She managed to not wheeze and huff and break down into a panic attack, however, given that would have frozen up the line and there was no way to go but forward. She'd prove her merit, she would work hard, she would be a good hunter. She'd prove that to Caelius, she'd prove it to Aria, she wouldn't let any doubt in choosing to wake her be granted.
However, when the space opened up again, she seemed to relax tenfold, even when the floor began to lower. It was less crowded, she could handle all of this, even if it was getting darker than the pits of hell in that place. She was waiting for the sounds of Mr. Face at any given moment, or something of that variety. She was, she was ready.
What they got was a hallway of - OH ********. ARROWS. ALL OF THE ARROWS.
Cass wasted no time in summoning Nicodemus, the weapon easy in her hands, and the given space to run through the corridor in, however, Cass had never been the most physically capable individual, so there was a small mishap, leaving her with an arrow sticking out of her and a frown on her face once she'd gotten to the other side.
It could have been worse

Walking into the cave, Deryk looked around nervously, though he couldn't help but feel like he was in a movie. Tomb raiding and all that jazz. The cave was dimly lit, and just something about the atmosphere was rather surreal.
Oh, and it was complete with deathtraps too.
The death trainee stared with disbelief as the volley of arrows zipped across the room.
Tooley giggled. Sure. Fun. Gulping nervously, he went on and summoned her. This was going to suck, he just knew it. Readying himself, he started to run across the room. The urge to scream along the way was strong, but he managed to swallow it down for now.
But he sure as hell BOOKED it.
And he managed to come out completely unscathed. One way or another.
"...letsnotdothatagainplease," he breathed out while trying to catch his breath on the other side. It didn't quite hit him just yet how badass that was.

As soon as they were ready to go, Molly gave another encouraging smile to Bix and Gale before she was following along with everyone else. The young woman was rather relieved to find the interior of the cave to be cold, and went back to bundling up as she turned on her flashlight. She took in her surroundings, watching as the Death Division lead worked with the tablets in the back…everything seemed okay so far…er—
Arrows.
Spoke way too soon.
Molly was suddenly feeling panicked as she watched Caelius and Sandy run down the twenty foot expanse, followed by some of her fellow trainees. Vaska was booming in her head to not be coward. Just to summon him and he’d handle it. Like always. Turning around obviously wasn’t an option though, and though her knees shook, Molly waited until the area around her was clear before summoning her monster lance.
Now…how should she hold this thing while running—
<JUST DO IT!>
Molly yelped and held the lance forward like a jouster as she then just gunned it, and ran down the hall. Everything seemed to be okay! Until some arrows scraped her FEAR shield at the end…but…wow! The young woman shouldered her weapon once she was on the other side, breathing heavily. That…could have been much, much worse!

Bix's should bump got a huff. He'd pay him back in due time. But Marcus had more personal pressing matters. Like Cass. There was little he could do that would ease her worry, or rather, make things better if at all. The promise of a kiss when it was all said and done, the hint that he'd stay close to her, (though he really shouldn't). There honestly wasn't much he could do aside from give her words of reassurance. It was nice however, as they ventured in, that the muggly hell of the tropics became the cold of an underground. He could deal with cold. Cass's hand on his got a small smile and squeeze. "This is nothing Cass. Nothing. You can do this." Little hushed whispers, attempts to help. It wasn't until the hall of arrow hell did Marcus scowl outright. Indiana Jones bullshit. Cass went first and he gave a small wince as he saw her get hit. Pulling the weapon from his ear, Marcus got a lovely pep talk from Dis. It ran along the lines of not getting poked in the a**. Scimitar summoned, Marcus took a deep breath. A few trainees had made it safely over, some less so. No one was dead yet however. Lining himself up to run, he bolted, feeling the arrows right behind him practically. While he made it to the other side alright, he smiled at Cass. "We're good."

Wilson was very glad for the flashlight. He could only see what was in front of him—or whatever else the other trainees disappeared to turn their light toward—but at least he wasn’t completely blind and stumbling around the cave. If he raised his flashlight he could see his breath turn into wisps of mist. All of a sudden he was grateful to have kept on his jacket despite the humidity outside.
He was hardly amused when he watched Sandy sprint across the expanse. While he might not have been frowning as the death hunter crossed the walls, Wilson certainly did once she announced that everyone should take out their weapons. What. He heard Gramps nervously grumble in his mind. He was quick when he needed to be, but with all of his gear on? Wilson had never really tried before. There’s a first time for everything, I guess. Not exactly the greatest first time to be trying this out, though. Once he summoned Gramps he really couldn’t help but wonder how he was supposed to run like this. GDI.
Surprisingly, he had gotten off to a pretty decent start. Wilson only had time to glance behind him once before he sprinted faster, except when he began to near the end he failed to notice a snag in the ground. He hissed as he fell forward. Wilson cringed when an arrow grazed past him arm, but he bit down on his lower lip and continued to run for the other side.

Madison watched tensely as trainee after trainee made the crossing. It was... not exactly pleasant, waiting. It gave her time to think too much, about both the obstacle again and the carvings on the wall. The scenes depicted were of utmost cruelty; more than that, they seemed to speak of a rabid joy in such cruelty. Disgusting monsters...
And then it was her turn. Madison tried to loosen up, standing for a moment on the balls of her feet, shifting her weight as she tried to figure out the best time to run - but there really was no best time, not with this. The Death Hunter leapt, trying to make her first jump count before hitting the pressure plates she assumed were in the floor. That was how movies like this worked, right?
She landed wrong, one foot hitting a slightly uneven bit of floor. Madison tumbled, though she managed to turn it into more of a roll than an uncontrolled sprawl; still, she came up with a hiss of pain from both the fall and an arrow that had grazed her arm, drawing a long streak of blood out to mark her coat.
It could have been so much worse, though.

Ah, this wasn't good.
Eva's lips were pressed into a thin line as she watched the trainees rush to the other side. Only a few came out unscathed, but everyone else was bearing some scrapes and cuts. Nothing too bad, fortunately, but still unpleasant all the same.
For a second, she wondered what would happen if someone were to trip in the middle of running. She hastily shook this thought away.
Once it was her turn to go, she took a deep breath, her fingers curling more tightly around Chara as she broke out in a dash. Surprisingly, as she was ran forward, trying to ignore the sound of the arrows flying past her behind her. How close were they to her, she wondered? Whatever the case, Eva managed to avoid the majority of the arrows, feeling only one or two whiz by to graze her shield by the time she got to the end of the hall.
Whens she was safe and sound on the other side, she lifted her hands and stretched, a small grin spreading over her face. Well, that was kind of fun! Of course, the only reason she could think this was because she managed to get out relatively unscathed. Wouldn't have been so fun if she can come out if it with an arrow sticking out of her chest.

Cass pulled the arrow out of her FEAR shield and frowned, tossing it aside. A messy thing, those shields, but so nice too. Even if they gave a surreal feeling to her skin or something.
Still, she watched as Marcus made his run, looking to be all nerves about it, but calming when he reached the other side with her, smiling weakly. "Okay...." Still, arrows made her nervous on the same level mentioning the Horsemen did. A Pavlov's dog effect of sorts. Arrows + Horsemen ---> Death. Bix got out of this reaction by being Bix and her bro and all. Even if her Bro couldn't get along with her boy.
"I don't like this place at all, though." She frowned ever so slightly.

Okay, so Cass had called it right. This cave was ******** freezing. The coat came right back on, snuggling into its warmth with a sigh. It was so dark, too dark. Would Jerry be okay? She looked around to find him, noticing he wasn't in front of or behind her. He's not your responsibility, Candace. He probably would shrug you off if you showed concern anyway. Candace frowned and turned back to making her way down the strange path. Atropos was right...but she couldn't help but worry. Last time they were together the dark still terrified him, and it had only been a few weeks there was no way he was completely over his fear of the dark in just a few weeks.
This place was apparently not just some ordinary cave. She was waiting for something to pop out, for something to kill them all. The elevator made her jump a little, staying quiet. Don't draw attention to yourself..
...You have got to be ******** kidding. She watched with horror as Caelius totally ******** cheated and then as Sandy ran through the gauntlet of arrows. Lovely. Just. Lovely.
It..it didn't look so bad. She summoned Atropos, heart racing as she took off down the hall after someone else had made it through. Come on, come on..! s**t! She hissed as an arrow grazed her shoulder. Keep going, keep going!
She wasn't used to skating over stone, and quite frankly she didn't like it. There were a few more close calls before she managed to make it through, unsummoning Atropos and rubbing her shoulder. Damn, that stung.

Inside the cave it was cold. Too cold. The stark contrast from the thick, cloying humidity from the jungle outside, compared to the chilly, unnerving cold within made Gale's skin feel clammy and gross, and he shivered unpleasantly, following along behind their leaders, sticking close to Molly and Bix unintentionally.
He wished he'd kept his coat on, his fingers grappling at the neckline of his shirt in the darkness, fumbling to button it back up. Jinhai wasn't summoned yet - Gale could feel the cold metal of the ring on his finger, heavy and reassuring, in spite of the pure and utter blackness that surrounded him on all sides.
It was suffocating. He took deep, shuddering breaths and tried not to hyperventilate, slowly inhaling and exhaling until he was back to normal, until he no longer felt embarrassed by the fact that he was acting rather strangely inside.
But it felt too much like The Incident.
Glaring in the darkness, Gale rubbed his thumb along the ring on his index finger and summoned Jinhai, a small flash of blue-white light visible around his hand. The weight of the sniper rifle felt somehow consoling, as though it reminded him that he was strong, that he was perfectly capable of handling himself.
Can you see anything?
<< Can you? >>
Not a bloody thing.
<< Me either. >>
It was frustrating, but sadly unavoidable, so Gale followed along in silence, still idly picking at his shirt collar, messing with the tie he had loosened and pushing it back up so that it was in place.
But his silence apparently wouldn't last long, since the arrows came next.
The long expanse of walls was deadly, the arrows flying back and forth, whistling along their paths in a horrific game of tag. Gale's lips pressed together, their "illustrious leader" disappearing and reappearing in a flash of blue light.
Cheater.
He did not want to run through, but he was here and there was no escaping it. Gritting his teeth, Gale leaned back, rocking on his heels, and then threw himself forward, ducking, weaving, darting, and leaping, his breath catching in his throat, his hair back in his eyes -
- and then it was all over and he had reached the other side, colliding unintentionally with Candace on the other side - and miraculously, without a single scratch to him. He checked his arms, breathing heavily, but it seemed as though none of the arrows had managed to come close.
Gale wasn't sure whether he was just lucky or stupid.
Either way, when he stopped running, gasping for air, he hauled himself back upright and gave Candace an apologetic smile in the near dark.
