((He was specifically told to go out through the window to avoid being seen. If someone tried to enter through the window they would probably be restrained instantly and find a dagger at their throat.))

The receptionist knew exactly what to do, rather than wait for Sora to show up she got up and grabbed her arm violently, pushing her towards the stairs to the office. She then quickly moved back to her desk to warn Natsumi that Sora had arrived, though her team had not yet.

Natsumi Rei, who was still acting as Raikage until Nagisa could finish arrangements for Shimogakure, got up and walked across the room and opened the door, so that Sora would know to come right in. She then resumed her seat behind the desk, and pulled out Kensei's profile, leaving it open on her desk with a large picture of the Chuunin "rogue" so it would be the first thing Sora noticed.

Laxus stopped his sprint/run just outside the doors, finding it somewhat odd that no one had been directly in his way. Normally the streets were busier than this. Maybe news of what had happened to Sunagakure had reached here. Laxus shrugged it off, the people here should know they were safe. Or safer than living in a flat area at least. He walked into the reception area nd walked straight to the front desk. As he did so he looked around to take notice of the people who were inside. He didn't recognize anyone, and he thought it was ever so slightly odd. He'd lived here for a couple of months now, long enough to get settled in, then nearly get fired, he should know more people by now. Oh well, it didn't really matter. The only thing that mattered now was that he needed to fulfill his duty and avoid being fired. "Laxus Mkarov here, reporting for a summons from the Raikage." He said, looking at the receptionist.

" Get up there, the Raikage's been waiting for you. " The recpetionist said without even looking up from her busy work. She picked up her phone and merely punch in the Raikage's number, mutter "Laxus is here," and hang it up. "Well? get a move on." she said shaking her head as if Laxus had all the time in the world in the last two seconds to get up the stairs to the Raikage's office.

"Um... Thank you?" Laxus said, puzzled by her behavior. He bowed slightly and hurried to the staircase and began climbing. As he climbed he could hear jovial steps being taken ahead of him. Could it be Sora? Laxus thought to himself, shrugging off the idea as the footsteps came to a stop. He didn't hear the opening and closing of a door, so perhaps it wasn't Sora, but some worker happy or excited about something. Either way Laxus needed to quit dawdling on these random thoughts and simply focus on the task at hand. The Raikage wanted him to do something, and he hadn't even been able to finish what he had been told to do before. This didn't exactly bode well for him. He neared the top of the stairs, seeing Sora already inside the Raikage's office and the door open. Waiting for a time when there was no speaking between the Raikage and Sora, Laxus spoke up and said, " I'm guessing you gave it already by leaving the door open, but I just want to be sure. Permission to enter?" He said, looking first from The Raikage to Sora, then back to the Raikage.

( The latter part of this post is after Kages, but before anyone else's. Sorry about the odd timing. sweatdrop )

Feeling like one large rag doll, Sora suddenly found herself pushed onto the stairs to the Raikage's office before she could even get out a question. The tight clench on her arm and sudden pull hurt a bit, enough to make the genin flinch. Alone and confused, the girl turned quickly to the already-gone receptionist. She stared clueless at the closed door, one hand rubbing the arm that had been gripped tightly. First Nagisa and now the receptionist. Whatever was the problem? By now, Sora could no longer deny something was wrong. However, she could not understand what. The townspeople and shinobi milling about on the other side of the door seemed normal enough. Certainly, a mere genin wouldn't be told about something that the general populace wouldn't know about.

Sora turned back around to face the stairs, The girl climbed up the stairs, mind whizzing through possibilities. She stumbled more than thrice, what with her distracted state. At the open door of the Raikage's office, Sora peeked cautiously in before stepping in completely. The door had been left open, unlike her previous visit here, so it must have meant that she was allowed to enter. She bowed politely upon entering, stepped a bit further into the office, and then stood at attention. On the Raikage's desk, the girl could see an open folder. What looked to be Kensei's picture seemed to be on the folder but Sora quickly averted her eyes from the documents in the rare case that she wasn't supposed to be looking at it. Rather, she focused her vision on the Raikage, as was proper. Further following proper protocol (and just basic manners in Sora's opinion), the girl didn't say a single word, giving the Raikage the first word.

With all her efforts, she kept still. Already, her dread had turned into mere curiosity, making what had been foreboding minutes ago into a type of guessing game. What could have possibly upset Nagisa and the Raikage's secretary so much? Did the picture she was trying her hardest to not look at have something to do with this? Could she look at the picture? She really, really wanted to. It looked like Kensei, but she wasn't sure. She wanted to find out once and for all. Although, why would Kensei's picture be on the Raikage's desk... and facing towards her? Was it facing to Sora? She couldn't remember. So many questions. Hopefully the Raikage would answer them all.

Noticing Sora's polite refusal to look at the documents the Raikage lifted her hand to get her attention, and then placed a finger on the picture to push it forward. She did not get a chance to speak however before Laxus stopped outside the door and asked permission to come in. It was annoying to say the least, the door was obviously left open on purpose, but she had pretty much told him to straighten out his manners or lose his job. With a sigh she spoke. "If the door is open you are free to come in. But please close the door behind you." She wondered if the boy would bow, as even the distracted Sora did, but didnt hold her breath. "Kensei Uchiha, Katon user and owner of the Sharingan eyes, has gone Rogue." She left a dramatic pause, giving the girl a moment to understand. This wasn't the first time she learned a friend had gone Rogue, and the Raikage needed to see her reaction. "Unfortunately, most of our Chuunin and Jounin are either on mission or making preparations for the treaty of Shimogakure. Sora, you are to lead a team with two other Genin, Laxus here and a recently graduated Henge master named Shikaku who should be here by the end of your briefing. You have worked together, and fought together, so you know him better than any of the other Genin, and even many higher ranking shinobi. However I should stress that he has murdered a young ANBU and cannot be trusted. You must bring him back alive for questioning we believe he has taken temporary shelter in the village forest to prepare for his trip."

As she spoke she never took her eyes off the two shinobi. Sora would very likely take this very hard, but she was unsure how Laxus would react. The boy had trouble agreeing with Kensei but they were still fellow villagers, and had still worked together on an especially dangerous mission. There was kinship shinobi often formed when working together, even with such disagreements. Shikaku would probably not be phased much, probably just the standard disgust at hearing of a rogue nin more than anything. He would likely add to the girl's emotional dilemna by cursing Kensei's betrayal.

" Thank you Lady Raikage. Sorry for any inconvenience. " Laxus said giving a light bow and walking into the room shutting the door behind him. He stepped slightly to the side of it, so if it were opened he wouldn't be hit by the door. Laxus thought to himself. His face showed no sign, but inside he was smiling widely. Even though, Laxus couldn't help but wonder what exactly had made Kensei go rogue. Something told him Sora might side with Kensei if he said Laxus did it. Laxus thought to himself, wondering who this child would be. The person was obviously a kid, having just graduated, but some of the kids around here were hardier than most. Now that Laxus actually stopped and thought about it, the briefing was rather short for someone who was a part of the village. He'd wait to see if Sora would ask for anything more before voicing his own desire to know more about the man they were after.

Sora eagerly took the silent permission to look at the picture that had made her so curious in the last few moments. As she had guessed from the initial glimpse, the picture was of Kensei, meaning that the folder beneath it was likely his as well. Laxus's entrance gave the genin some time to think,

The answer, like the permission to view the picture, came soon enough, and at the first mention of the word "rogue" Sora's eyes shot up to the Raikage's face. She tried to read the older woman's expression, even though she knew it would be impossible with the constant shadow covering the face. Besides, even if she had a clear view of the face, considering the Raikage's experience, Sora likely would have been unable to glean any information.

On the other hand, Sora's face was the definition of readable. Under pressure like this, the normally fidgety girl couldn't help but show her uncertainty and fear at this news. Her mouth moved, wanting to ask the Raikage a question but no voice came out. After it became obvious to herself that she could think of nothing to say, Sora humbly bent her head down, her sky blue eyes staring straight through the floor with a depressing expression that didn't suit them at all. A rare frown could be seen on her face, soft and sad. Even in this state, though, something of Sora's moved: her fists. The fingers of her balled-up fists moved slowly and slightly, one-by-one, as she tried to think of a proper reaction.

This may have been the second, but Sora still did not know how to react to the news that two things she loved, her friends and her village, were once more at opposites to each other. Sad for someone that was supposed to be a tactical ninja, no? Despite a year having already passed, she did not know how she would confront a friend that had gone rogue. In fact, she had difficulty just processing what she had been told, and the only thing keeping her from questioning the Raikage was because... well... the Raikage was the Raikage, the leader of the village. If she couldn't trust the Raikage with the wellfare of the village, then who could she trust?

Uncertain of how to react, Sora resolved to remain silent until Shikaku entered. She needed time to sort her thoughts even if she knew that, in the end, she would agree to the mission. The girl had no qualms with the mission. After all, she wanted to question Kensei and the mission was to bring Kensei back to the village just for that (granted, the questioning probably wouldn't involve her). Rather, it was just the thought of having to go against him that scared her regardless of her final goal.User Image

Entering the tower at last, Shikaku scanned the lobby before approaching the desk. The civilian population had gone down since he was last here, replaced by small groups of ninja, mostly of middling rank, chuunin and special jounin judging just by appearances. "How will she take it?" was a phrase he heard repeated two or three times in different variations, whispered between the ninja, just in time to be hushed by another of their group. Most interestingly though, was the fact there was no line to the secretary. Nor were the waiting seats occupied, as if none of these men and women had any intention of meeting the Raikage, or any other official housed here.

Curious now, Shikaku approached the secretary, prepared to continue his attempt at establishing some form of camaraderie with the woman, thus making his future easier. Before he could even speak though, the woman looked at him and spoke herself. "Hurry and get up there. They've started already." They? Shikaku wondered as he nodded and turned course towards the stairs. And they started without him. That almost definitely meant it wasn't his "Mission of discretion". But why was he being put in a group?

Well, speculation wasn't going to help him figure it out any faster. Not when the answers lay in the Raikage's office. As he reached the door, one of the ANBU silently pulled it open, gesturing for him to enter, which Shikaku did, equally silently and nodding to the ANBU agent. This allowed him a scarce few seconds before the other two he spotted in the room would notice him, not including the Raikage. Bowing respectfully, he scanned the other two, recognizing both from the day before. Sora, the girl he'd met in the tower. Seemed a bit hyper and maybe slightly crazy. Now though she seemed... Slightly depressed? Angry? The other he quickly placed as the boy he'd met in the training grounds. The one who had been rather loose with his tongue, and pencil. Now he wasn't just certain this wasn't his test mission. He was praying that it wasn't. But the boy seemed oddly pleased. He was hiding it, but even so the slightest bit leaked out. An odd contrast with Sora.

Making a decision in the short time it'd take for the two to notice him and turn to look, Shikaku snapped upright, and into a blatantly relaxed pose, smiling happily as if he hadn't picked up on the atmosphere. "Yo!" he cheerily called out, raising a hand in greeting as he closed the door behind him, rather more loudly than he would have normally. "Sorry I'm late. Note got mixed into my shopping receipts for some reason." he grinned, walking forward to match distance with the other two, keeping to the opposite side of Sora as the other boy.

His eyes were drawn immediately to the desk as he came within range, seeing a folder turned backwards, image atop it of a young man. The same one, if he was correct, as had been leading the two he was with yesterday. Why was his face here? Had the man died? That might explain the scene a bit, but then why was he here? He didn't know the man. Well, no way to know but to ask. "What's up?" he spoke up, looking briefly at each face in the room before focusing on the Raikage, not letting any of his internal feelings surface. Hopefully the woman wouldn't be offended by his disrespect of the office, but he'd seen how well the other boy in the room kept secrets, and he felt much more inclined to let the boy think of him as a strange child than show any of his real abilities. Knowing his affinity for espionage tactics, hopefully the woman would understand that and let it slide, knowing from their previous meeting how he truly felt about the respect for this office.

'Natsumi' Stared at Sora and Laxus, watching their expressions closely. Sora was clearly affected by the news, and though he tried to hide it Laxus seemed somewhat pleased. That was a problem no matter how she looked at it, probably he wanted a chance to fight Kensei and didnt realize just how bad a rogue nin could be. If Shikaku hadn't been so arrogant, Kumogakure could very possibly be struggling against one or all of the other villages, exploiting every weakness Jishaku knew. Neither spoke though, attempting to conceal their emotions as well as they could. Then Shikaku walked in, stared at the other two and proceeded to announce himself as loudly as possible.

The Raikage stood instantly and slammed her hands on the table, interrupting his speech. "I have no time to lecture you on the etiquette you already know you need! Since you saw fit to take your jolly time, I can't spare the details. You are chasing a rogue Uchiha Chuunin, Sora is your team leader. She knows him well and can fill you in on his skillset." She turned her head to Sora. "You may not like it, but you are the only shinobi we can spare right now. You should try your best to return with him alive, but otherwise he needs to be silenced." Clearly she meant if they couldnt capture then they needed to kill, though she doubted they could, especially since Kensei knew it was up to him to submit when necessary. He knew the rules of Kumogakure as well which meant he knew the price on his head.

Sora's only reaction to Shikaku's rowdy entrance was to take in a deep breath in preparation for speaking. She was too distracted with her own thoughts to really think about any of Shikaku's actions. Halfway through her breath, though, the Raikage acted up, scaring and shocking Sora simultaneously. Combined with the stress she had already been feeling, the high emotions created a reaction from the Rokubi. A very minor reaction--a slight surge of electricity through Sora's body that could only be noticed by a slight, momentary spiking of the girl's hair as she jolted upright--resulted before Sora restrained herself.

Even after the Raikage finished her string of scary-sounding words, Sora still couldn't bring herself to speak. To resolve the situation, she forced herself to take a short but thorough view of the room as a sort of mental exercise to calm her nerves. Both teammates she recognized to some degree, Sora looked down as she ended her thoughts and shook herself out of discomfort. It felt so wrong to think about how to take down Kensei even after convincing herself it had to be done.

Still not feeling ready, but knowing she couldn't delay the moment any longer, Sora faced her head forwards at the Raikage once more. She nodded once to show she understood. Nothing extreme had been said, nothing unjust. Her mind, logic, understood this. Not so much everything else. Sora interrupted her self-destructive line of thought with a hit to her face with the back of her hand and then continued, as she shook her head once more, this time to clear her mind. Before her thoughts coudl act up again, Sora verbally agreed, "I understand," and then launched into the first mission-relevant questions that she could think of, "Do we leave immediately or can we have some time to prepare? If the latter, how much time? May I order a retreat if it seems like we won't be able to win in any manner?". Her voice sounded much more different than usual, probably because her usual tone always had some level of fun and lightness perpetually embedded into it. This voice, on the other hand, reeked only of business.User Image

Laxus thought to himself a silent smile crossing his face, and disappearing immediately with the Raikage's outburst. He thought, shifting his body slightly. He almost looked uncomfortable until Sora perked up and her... hair stood up? That was slightly odd. He'd inquire later if he became closer as a friend to her.

Laxus perked up at Sora's question. He hadn't thought about it, but it would be more to their advantage if they could have a moment to compose themselves, create a plan, or even just... learn more about Kensei than Uchiha katon user? Laxus had a good idea of what Kensei's eyes could do, since he'd spoke on it in Sunagakure.

"We believe he is hiding in the village forest, but he won't exactly stay there very long, we're not quite sure why he stopped there in the first place. You need to leave immediately, or we may lose track of him." She forced her mouth in a frown, while noone would see it, it would help her keep the correct tone. "Retreat is of course your call to make, we cannot afford to fight no win fights, but it may cripple the village if you do so. Noone goes rogue without malice, whatever is driving him doesn't have the village interests in mind." This was the agenda assigned to all Chuunin team leaders, it was true that Kumo couldnt afford the die trying mentality of other, more prosperous villages. If such a mission did arise, it would almost certainly be B or higher.

Shikaku gulped, nodding silently as the Raikage cut him off. He wasn't sure, given the circumstances if she was actually angry at him or just playing along, but he certainly wasn't going to push it. Either way his ploy had worked. Neither of the other two in the room would perceive him as a professional anything after that. Averting his eyes from the Raikage "Shamefully", he allowed them to skim the other two again, to be sure of the results. Sora's hair was standing on end, like she'd been hit with some serious static. Entirely possible, or maybe it was just the good old comical reaction gone a little overboard. The other boy though... Why was he smiling? Shikaku frowned, eyes turning back towards the Raikage as he processed all the information.

He had apparently been called in as part of a taskforce to capture the team's old leader, an Uchiha at that who had gone rogue. Sora was the team leader, and would apparently be charged with the next stage of briefing. The sharing of skills most likely... Ah well. Maybe he could somehow share with only her. But, back to the other... When he'd come in the boy felt... Pleased. And just now he had smiled, evidently from seeing Shikaku berated... Did the misfortune of his allies give the boy pleasure, for some reason? Hopefully not, but he'd keep an eye out. If it were true, that boy could be just as dangerous as the mission target. For now, he'd hold his silence, on all matters, and keep up the image of a scolded child.

User ImageHer brain still a mess, Sora nodded curtly once to show that she had heard and understood. Then she looked to the side, at Laxus and Shikaku, to continue her half-finished observation and see if they had anything to say. The girl had come to grips with her emotions enough to at least see Laxus's smile and find it weird. She didn't know the exact reason behind the expression, but there was nothing worth smiling in this entire briefing in Sora's opinion. Shel found it strange and a bit disturbing, but even in times like these, she was too nice to think badly of Laxus for it. As for Shikaku, he remained an enigma to her. In her first brief meeting, he hadn't seemed like the dunce he seemed to be when entering the office. Now, he frowned at what seemed to be either Laxus's smile or the Raikage's information, both more fitting with the first impression Sora had of him than the second,

They didn't seem very talkative, so since time was on the line, Sora faced the Raikage once more. Her observations hadn't taken more than a few seconds. In her business-voice, she said, "Then, if no one has anything else to add, may we take our leave, Madame Raikage?".User Image

((Crappiest post ever, I am super extremely sorry but I cannot think of anything to say.))

"I recommend you look at his file briefly before you leave, you can't bring it, I'm sure you understand. But you are free to go when you are ready, you need to hurry after all." She watched the three patiently. The file contained the basic information about Kensei's background, information on how his sharingan worked, as well has his elements and specialties. He was listed as a summoner, but Sora already knew that from Suna. The file did not contain a full list of his jutsu.

Laxus looked from The raikage to Sora, and then occasionally to Shikaku waiting for someone to ask for the file, or for the Raikage to resend her offer. Suddenly a thought occurred to Laxus. "Sora, could I read the file aloud so that it'll reduce the time for us all to read it?" Laxus asked stepping forward and to the side of Sora's chair, kneeling down next to her, so that he was around her sitting height. He looked at her, but maintained the Raikage in his peripheral vision. He couldn't see her face, but he could see her torso. Any bodily motions she made would more than likely be seen if they were somewhat obvious.
