None of the children mentioned what happened when they returned to their parents for the evening. Their spirits were high with the miracle they thought they had received. Parents noted it but said nothing. It was nice to see the children laughing for a change.

Tai and Zahra glanced at each other as they went to bed. Neither said anything at first, but then turned at the same time.

"We should tell them, Zah." Tai said quietly.

"We can't. What happens if it won't again? Think how disappointed everyone would be." his sister replied, shaking her head vehemently. "I think it's best if we just wait."

"I still think we should, but whatever." He crawled into his bed, still feeling guilty about all he had eaten.

The next morning Miliani's mother sent her to breakfast. It was a meager meal but all were thankful for that much. Ta and Zahra sat nearby as Milani and the other children ate. They played with their food a bit, not really hungry.

"Are we going to go play today, Zahreeee?" Mili asked excitedly.

The older girl glanced over nodding. "If you want to, Mili." She knew they would all want to try again. But she was unsure if they should. Was it something the gods were giving them or was it from a source that would lead to their downfall? She did not know, but the weighty thoughts were heavy for her shoulders.

Tai gazed over at his sister saying nothing. But it was in his eyes that he wanted to tell the adults. He still thought they should say something, but she knew he would not without her.

When the children found a place out of sight, Mili and the others waited expectantly. The twins watched them silently.

"Can we do it again?" Mili asked. "I want an apple."

Zahra shook her head. "Let's play tag for awhile. Besides we just ate."

The child looked disappointed as did the rest, but she replied, "Alright." rather sulkily.

Mili's mother shook out the blankets as she made the beds. Something hit the ground and she frowned slightly picking it up. An apple core. She frowned slightly. It looked freshly eaten. Where in the world would Mili get an apple? Especially one good enough to eat.

She tucked the core into a piece of fabric. The seeds could perhaps be used. But more than that she wanted to know where the child could have gotten it. The only apples were in the storeroom and they were using them as sweetener for the cooking a few at a time. They did not have many.

The more she thought about it, the more it bothered her. Perhaps talking to the child would reveal where she got it. Had the children found a secret store of apples nearby?

Moving quickly from the room and down the hallway where she knew the children played, the woman looked for her daughter. "Mili, where did you get this?" she asked, holding out the core in her hand.

Her teeth slipped down over her lip. "Um... I don't know." she said after glancing at Tai and Zahra who were shaking their heads.

"Of course you know. Where did you get an apple?"

"I don't know." she repeated.

"Did you take it?" the woman asked, taking her daughter's hand. "If you did, you can remain in your room the rest of the day. We only have so many apples and we need them all."

"But I didn't..." the child began.

"Until you remember you can stay put and think about it." the mother stated as she tugged her daughter down the hallway.

"But.."

"No buts."

Milani gave a tearful glance to Tai and Zahra who both winced as she was pulled away by her mother. All the children gazed at one another rather guiltily.

"We should have told." Tai muttered.

"We cannot." his sister replied with certainty.

"But Mili is getting in trouble for an apple we let her take with her. Her mother thinks she stole it."

"But we don't know, Tai. If it came from the gods, but if not what then? They will think we are all crazy." She was afraid. Of course she was. Who would not be? Zahra felt bad that Mili was being punished for something that should not be, but what were they to do?

The sound of Milani crying and protesting could still be heard echoing down the hallway. Zahra flinched but turned and ran down the hallway. Breathlessly, she stopped just behind the woman.

"Wait! I gave Mili the apple." she said grabbing the woman's arm.

"You did?" she stopped turning to the older girl. "And where did you get it?"

"I... well..."

"Zahree and us made them." Mili replied, wiping away the tears as she grabbed the elder girl's hand.

"Made them? What do you mean?"

"We wished for them and made them." Mili sniffed staring at her mother.

"Zahra, what does she mean?" the woman asked, folding her arms. "Tell me now."

"I'm not sure. We were hungry so all of us sat in a circle and talked about what we wanted to eat. We had our eyes closed but when we opened them, the food was there." the girl replied nervously. "I don't understand it, but it was there."

"Are you telling me that the food just appeared? What nonsense! Where did you take the apple from? The storeroom?"

Tai and the other children ran up, listening as they moved. "Zahra is right. We were just pretending and it happened." the boy growled defending his sister.

"Let's go. All of you. Everyone needs to discuss this. Now." She pointed them in the direction of the rooms and where everyone was working.

The children stood to one side as Mili's mother revealed what she knew to the other people. Several glanced in their direction with scowls but only the priest moved towards them to see what they said.

"Zahra, tell me everything that happened." he asked softly. "Everything you can remember, child."

The girl swallowed hard, but then began to tell how she had thought it would distract the younger ones. In a few moments, she had told him everything. The man simply watched, his eyes studying her expression. The girl was telling the truth. She had not stolen the fruit, but had it simply appeared? How?

The others were listening gathered around by the time she was finished. The man in charge of the storeroom moved forwards. Drindel did not believe her. And if she had stolen it, he wanted to know how so that it did not happen again. Grabbing her arm tightly he jerked her forwards. "Tell me the truth! You stole that apple, girl. I want to know how you did it."

"I did not!" she protested, trying to get her wrist free.

"I said tell me!" he growled as the priest frowned at his actions.

Her father moved forwards, stopping the man as he would have slapped her. "Get your hands off my daughter, Drindel. Now." Pushing his daughter behind him, he stood between she and the man's anger. "Leave her be." he warned.

Angry and hurt that none believed her, Zahra clenched her hands tightly, staring at the fellow. Like a light it burst into sight. The though of apples hitting him as hard as they could appeared to her. Even as she thought such, apples appeared, flying across the space pelting Drindel. Her hand opened and then closed around the apple that appeared in her hand.

"There's some apples for you! Here!" She yelled throwing the apple directly at Drindel hitting him in the chest with it. It splattered across his shirt and face. The girl ran for her room, bursting into tears as she went.

Tai stared as infuriated as his sister. "I'd have hit you with a big rotten strawberry!" As he stated such, one appeared in his fingers and he suddenly grinned hitting the man in the face with it. Running to his sister he wrapped his arms around her tightly. "It will be alright, Zah. He's just a mean person."

The priest and others had stepped back staring in wonder at the apples and the children. Their eyes had glowed faintly but how? Picking up an apple, he gazed at it for a long moment, then he bit into it. The juicy sweetness dribbled down his chin and he suddenly sighed. Looking around at the others, he began.

"I remember my mother once telling me of those who have true magic and the ability to conjure from the very air the things they need. Food. Water. Even weapons and clothing. These things would only last days but they were no less than those crafted by hands. Mages they were once called amongst other things." He glanced towards the room the twins had run to and then to their father. "Jorgis, the twins are gifted. Perhaps by the very gods who had appeared here. A link left behind to protect those found worthy. Their laughter has always shone for the hearts of those around them. Take very good care of them. Let them settle down some and then we will speak to them later when they are calmer." He patted the man's shoulder a moment.

Then he looked to Drindel. "I suggest you get these fruits gathered. They will not last more than a few days, but they are no less than other apples. I will see what else they can do. But later." He chuckled as he walked away. "Tai and Zahra. Blessed of the Gods. Perhaps there is still hope for us yet." Taking another bite of the apple in his hand, he sighed. He had missed the taste of such sweetness.

"Give them baths?"

"That's what I said, Arle."
Lisana replied, her expression clearly amused. This was as much about the three aoidei having fun as her critters getting baths. Perhaps moreso. Her immortals had been very silent recently. Almost reticent in their activites.

"Which ones, my Lady? Mrow.. I don't like water..."
the latter was muttered as much in protest as complaint.
"All of them." she giggled, turning back to her cup of tea. This should be interesting.

Even Aridai, Rorie, and Jaspar...?"

"Even them."

Arle, Jhyett, and Dat glanced at one another after watching Lisana silently for a long moment. All three stared in some trepidation at the thought of so many baths. Lisana had alot of critters and some only liked the goddess. There was Krynn her cat, Nefar her dragon, several stardust, and even more oddities including Yeti. And they seemed to know the word 'bath' because most were now gone though they had been nearby.

"Too bad Lady Nixie or Lady Una are not here today. It would be much easier."

"Well, let's get started. They won't wash themselves. I suppose taking them to the water would be the easiest way."

"Mrow... I'll catch them. You can wash them." the feline stated quickly moving away before either could protest.

Arlecchino sighed as if dealing with a child, though a child might have wanted to get wet. "Fine. Whatever. Let's go, Dat."

"But my wings will get wet." she protested, pouting as her wings fluttered nervously. "Can't we just...? Well, I don't know... You are the smart one, Arle. think of something."

She sighed shaking her head and stomping her foot at the same time. "You are going to help me and like it." Turning her back with a growl, Arlecchino added, "Now get them and let's go." Her collar jingled as she stalked towards the cabinet for soap and towels. "And I mean now!"

Jhyett and Dat stared at Arle's back and then glanced at one another. Neither wanted to get wet. "Well, I suppose we could catch them for her." the feline stated, "but I'm not bathing them."

"Me either." Dat agreed spotting Krynn under the chair. His tail twitched back and forth as she quickly caught him. Losstarot floated into the room. "Grab him quick."

"Mrow... he'll bite me..."

"Not if you are careful he won't. So grab him..."

Jhyett muttered, but she did grab the creature. Holding onto him was not easy. His soft skin was rather slippery and she had to move her fingers twice when he tried to snap them. She managed to get him to the point she could carry him to Arlecchino to bathe. As soon as she was done with both, they moved to get others. For some time they managed to remain mostly dry as they carried pets back and forth.

As Royale was finished, he walked stiffly to the side. Somewhat angrily, he shook himself very deliberately in front of the two aoide, scattering water droplets all over them. With a satisfied smirk, he moved to roll in the grass nearby leaving the aoide to stare in frustration.

From where she sat, Lisana could see everything. She laughed as Royale retaliated a little. Others would do more. She was waiting to see what Aridai and Rorie did.

Cache` refused. Each time they approached her, she would move quickly blending in with her surroundings. And when they finally did get her into the water, she shoved hard against them. Arlecchino slipped, flailing backwards as she went entirely underwater. Sputtering and blinking in surprise, she yelled, "Catch her!"

Jhyett and Dat moved, but the stardust was angry by this point. Her fur had been clean and she'd not needed a bath. She did not care that they found it lacking. Sidestepping, the stardust then whirled to push the feline into the other aoide. Both collided, tangled, toppled over into Arlecchino who was trying to clamber out of the water. All three were dunked entirely.

Cache` slipped from the water easily, shaking her fur out with distaste for them all. With a well satisfied smirk on her muzzle, she moved back to dry herself off again. She'd be hours grooming herself now and she moved to where she was once more hidden entirely.

"Get off me!" Arle yelled as her feet slipped out from under her again.

"Mrow! I'm wet! I'm wet!" the feline sulked as she shoved at both of the others to get free of the tangle.

"My wings... my beautiful wings are soggy now..." Dat lamented pushing at both Jhyett and Arle to try to get her feet beneath her. Angry and feeling spiteful, she splashed both deliberately as she moved away from them.

"Mrow...! You didn't just splash me?!!!"

Dat stuck her tongue out at the feline aoide, and continued moving. Let her think what she wanted.

Jhyett sputtered wiping the water from her eyes. "You brat!" she growled jumping at Dat and dragging her back in. A fight began causing Arlecchino to sigh.

"That's the pot calling the kettle black." she stated, moving towards the bank herself. Inspite of the fact they had not wanted to get wet, both certainly seemed to be enjoying it now. She suddenly blinked as both turned on her, pulling her backwards and dunking her again. Coughing and sputtering she exploded, splashing them both with water.

Lisana broke into laughter as she watched closely. They had all needed the fun this would give them. And she knew that rying to give a bath to a critter that did not want one was the quickest way to accomplish such. It figured that it would be Cache`. The stardust was finiky and prideful about her fur. She did not mind being brushed, but she did not like being bathed. With a smile, the goddess was thinking that she would have to pamper the stardust more when she returned to her side. She deserved it for a job well done.

Hasheem moved quickly down the hallway. When he found Fashad, he said, "Come with me. We need to find Abdul and Yafir. I've something for them to do."

He glanced over at his friend, nodding in surprise. "Something up?"

"Yes." he replied but then shrugged when Fashad stared expectantly at him. "I'll explain when we find them."

Both men were with their families in the common room outside their bedrooms. They were playing a game with their children but stopped upon noticing the Captain and his lieutenant.

"Abdul, Yafir, I have something I need you to do. Well, Lady Lisana, Lord Tajnevaki, and Lord Eid do."

Both men glanced at each other and then back, but nodded. If three gods were in this then it was important in some way. Indicating that they take a seat, they sent the children down the hall to play together.

"We need you to gather volunteers and start searching for the materials we need to build a forge. The gods want us to craft weapons and armors to defend ourselves. Joe will be giving you a list of the things necessary. Find those who can gather as well as smith. Anyone with such knowledge will be useful." He tried to explain quickly as well as clearly what they needed to do.

"We can do that. Metal forge or glass?" Abdul asked in curiosity.

"Both. I'm going to talk to my father about enchantments next. Gather as many as you can and start looking for supplies. Be careful. Keep watch. It is still not safe except under the protection of the Pantheon, but we must go outside to look for things. We have no choice."

"We will be careful."

"You might need to craft a cart of some sort first. And find a horse or two to pull it. Just do not attempt to use Rorie or Aridai or Jaspar. Lady Lisana would be very upset."

As both men walked away to talk to others they knew were now living in the community of rooms, Hasheem turned to Fashad.
"I'm not certain what my father can still do, but he may know of enchantments at least to strengthen the glass as he used to."

"So it's certain that there will be an attack?" Fashad frowned intensely wondering what they could possibly do when the gods themselves might be in danger.

"No. But we need to prepare. Tajnevaki is the God of Mystery. Perhaps he feels something that he cannot see coming. I got the impression that he wanted everyone to move on this as soon as they possibly could. We have been through alot. So have the gods. And there is much ahead of us not only rebuilding this world but all those others out there including our own. I do not doubt them as I once did." Hasheem ran a hand through his hair. "We have seen too much that can be explained no other way than them. But anyhow, Joe will let us know where the forge will be and what needs done. He is a builder, a mason. I need you to relay messages to Abdul for me. And we will need to work in the forge also. Many of us will need to do more than before."

Fashad nodded, "I understand. I'll go speak to Joe and see what he wants me to do to help. Then I'll check on Abdul and Yafir. Someone will need to watch out for trouble."

Nodding, Hasheem wandered away. His father was in his bedroom reading some books he had found. He was learning the language of those who lived on this world. The door was open and he was relaxed on the bed. The Captain smiled watching him, thankful that he was safely here with them. Perhaps not so safe though.

"Father, I need to speak to you a few moments. It's important." He sat down in the chair beside the bed. Removing his blade, he leaned it against the wall to the side so that he'd be more comfortable.

"Hasheem, what is it? I was just practicing my reading." Closing the book, the elder watched his son closely for a long moment. Something was bothering him.

"How much can you still do in the way of enchantments?" he asked, eyes meeting his father's.

The man frowned. Whatever this was, it was serious if he were being asked to do enchantments at his age. Much of his strength for magic was gone. "I'm not sure. It has been a long while since I plied those skills. Why?"

Hasheem frowned intensely. "I see. Lord Mystery and Lord Eid came to Lady Lisana today wanting to find help for some things that need to be done." He quickly explained to his father just what was asked and said in the meeting they had.

"I see. So that is the real reason we were moved inside here. It fits the rumors I had heard." the elder man stated as he tried to estimate how much skill he still might retain.

"Father, we do not want to panic anyone. But I think we do need to prepare. Even if it is not these grigori that attack, we will be reclaiming this world and others. These gods are young in their rebirths. Their powers are still fragile. They need protection as much as we do. Just because we have the Creator back does not mean that he is not in danger also."

"What is this Lord Tajnevaki like? And the other Lord Eid? What did you see in them?" he asked wanting to know what his son's gut instincts were. It would give him a better understanding of those he had yet to meet.

Hasheem nodded, describing both gods and the things he had felt about both. He trusted them and saw the honesty in their eyes. "I trust them. Taj may be silent, but there is an intelligence in his eyes as if he sees things others do not. I don't know how to describe it any other way. And Lord Eid and his host, both seem more... knightly than anything."

"And he is the god of?"

"Oath. He is the God of Oath."
the son replied. "They believe that everyone needs to put forth some effort for this. Taj is looking for other magic users. I think if you are not capable of doing the enchantments that he plans to give you some to teach."

"Very well. I will try something this afternoon and see what I can do. Where will I find this Lord Tajnevaki?"

"His rooms are here in the Pantheon."
Hasheem's lips twitched. "From what I understand. Directly on the opposite side of the outer door here. Lisana's is on one side and his on the other. Or so I've heard."

"There is only a plain door there, Hasheem. I've already looked. It leads into a closet."

"Does it?"
His lips twitched. "Look more than once I think. Mystery would have a mystery there, no?"

The elder man blinked and then chuckled. "I suppose he would. I will see what I can do. Don't worry. I'll either help by enchanting if I can or I will teach someone who can. Don't worry, son. We will be fine. We've not come this far to be stopped now."

Touran moved past his son and down the hallway. He needed to see this god of Mystery for a few moments. Perhaps there was something he could do to help but he wanted to see for himself what this being represented. One could tell alot about a person in the first few moments of meeting. And this was something he needed to know.

He opened the door once to see an attic. Last time it had been a closet. A smile crossed his face as he shut the door. Reopening it, Touran laughed. Hasheem was right. There was a mystery here.

Sitting down at the table, Joe stared at the blank sheet of paper in front of him. Paper was scarce but there was a bit to work with. He had not been to an actual forge in some time and the thought of what he needed eluded him. It took him several minutes to recall what was included in one. He began by listing the things that a forge needed- area to receive and hold stock, racks for the finished product, and all the equipment between beginning and end.

Each piece he sketched out, adding dimensions as needed. His mind calculated the size of the forge and the distance needed around it. The requirements of the smelter, kiln- dome-shaped since that would be the easiest to use- more than one anvil, a large bellows and everything else that was necessary. As he drew, he placed them in various order so that he could see where to place each one so that the flow of work entering did not hinder the process or the outflow of final product. He left no options out as he carefully created what was needed.

As he finished it, Joe leaned back into the chair, studying it once more. Each would have to be focused on and finshed because once placed, they could not be moved. A roof overhead to protect from the weather and sun. If they ever got the sky returned. It was rumored that there were others working on a solution to that very problem.

Joe sighed heavily. Now for the list of things that would be needed to build all this. Each item, he broke down into the basics. The number of screws, bolts, bricks, and anything else that would be used to hold this all together. Nearly everything would have to be scavenged. A makeshift cart would have to be used for the larger things, but hopefully everything they needed could be gained from the ruined buildings outside the green of the Pantheon.

Finished, Joe tiredly glanced at the next sheet of blank paper. Carefully thinking, he sketched out a map to Eftemie's loft. How much of it remained, he was unsure. But the toolbox, iron bars, and a few other things that had come to mind were needed. It would save them some time. Making up the list, he put it to the side to wait for morning. It would not be long that he would sleep, but he did need some.

Rubbing his eyes, Joe started to move towards his bed. Hasheem would have the list the next day.

Waking early, the excitement of a new project sliding through him. He used to get this feeling, but it had been a long time since he had felt such. A very long time. Building for Eftemie had made him feel that way. He missed her, but he still saw bits of her in Lisana.

Glancing in the mirror as he began to shave, a bit of amusement slipped into his expression. So much had changed and yet much was improving. And he still had a chance to be who he was. A builder.

With a grin, as he wiped his face off, Joe added a few items to his list. A gift for Lisana. Perhaps she would use them. Perhaps not. But he suspected that with Eftemie inside her, she would want the paints, brushes, and canvases he had added. But even if she did not, he did.

By the time he found Hasheem and Fashad, they were looking for him. With a grin, he handed over the list and map to them. "There is a map here. And the list of things needed from the loft. If they are still there. The toolbox was upstairs in the closet. She also had a box of brushes, paints, paper and canvases on the table in the main room. See if any of it still exists. Who knows what the demons did there. And the iron bars should be there with the toolbox. I know there were other metal things in the basement. It used to be a warehouse. You might simply look around and see what there is."

"Alright, Joe. We will see what is there, but we should have no problems." the Captain replied glancing over the map. It was really not that far away.

"The building may be collapsing as so much is. Just don't take chances and get anyone injured. And the iron bars, we need for an anvil and other things. I'm not sure how many are there, but there should be several." The elder man nodded then moved away. He had the plans to deliver to Eid.

Turning to Fashad, Hasheem said, "Get them ready and let's see if we can make a quick cart. We have enough to pull it I think if we don't make it too heavy."

"Will do, Hasheem. Meet you at the corner." He had quickly glanced at the map. Enough to know where to meet them at the edge of the Pantheon. Fashad walked away quickly. There was much work to be done and he was sure this would lift everyone's spirits. Plans set into motion often accomplished such, and they all needed to be active. Even if it was in preparation of a fight for their lives. At least they were trying.

A Little Bit Of Fun

Eftemie
((This is a private rp for Cinderfae, Merci`, and Eftemie. Please do not post unless invited to do so.))

It was one of those days where one tried to catch up on things only to have everything under the sun interfer. Finally Lisana gave up trying to focus on the tasks at hand and left them to Arlecchino, Hasheem, and Rejali. But as she walked from the inn and to the Pantheon, the goddess thought about some of the things that her aoide had told her of. One was of the godly children that some of the others had. She knew Una from the ritual as she had been pointed out by Arle as the one that had sheltered them in her father's room.

The child still needed to be thanked and Lisana was interested in meeting her. And her father. Eftemie had given her the memories concerning Water and she had been very fond of he and Byrne, the little phoenix.

Now was some free time so she decided that she would look for them. First she headed into the main area glancing at the noticeboard. After reading it, she watched those walking around for a moment more before heading towards the staircase. What sort of door would Water have? Walking slowly up the steps, she frowned thoughtfully.

Cinderfae
Una leaned over eying the paper, "hrm!" Sitting up she eyed the child oni across from her. Reaching out she tapped the page, "your cheating!"

The oni a young male with dark hair and garnet eyes chuckled and shook his head. "Am I, Mistress?" Despite his young appearance the demon's voice already had a deep rich quality to it.

Sniffling slightly Una looked down at the page of dots and lines, "you are!" Biting her lip she reached down and tapped a spot on the page, "there, you used two lines."

Laughing slightly Baird wrinkled his nose playfully at the accusation, "apparently I am, but only because you caught it."

Una's aqua eyes went flat as she stared at the oni, "yes it is."

Snickering again Baird's eyes danced with mirth and he reached up adjusting the dark rimmed glasses. "As you wish...but if you hadn't noticed." He shrugged slightly.

"That doesn't make it right! Especially when it's me!"

The childish bickering echoed down the hall, the door to her father's room was cracked open slightly allowing those within to listen to the two children playfully and not so playfully arguing.

Merci`
Kaelin's brow furrowed as he leaned over the plans placed in front of him. Water once again flowed down the walls once more and really only this was soothing his frustration. His Aoide stood behind one shoulder watching the temperamental deity as he ruffled through the paperwork. "This is the best they have to offer. Honestly I don't understand why mortals seem so limited in their conceptions. This whole area needs to be redesigned." The god just picked up a pen and started making his changes.

He could hear the soft sounds of at least one of his children playing in the other room. Where the other was at that exact moment he didn't know exactly, but that she was in this space he knew. This was his space, and it was safe for his family. Kaelin rolled the papers back up and stuck them in the tube, "Please remind them, Neron, that this is a temple. It's a place of worship and shelter, but it should also reflect me and all of my glory."

Oh yes, humble had left the building.

Neron simply bowed, his dark wings hunched over his back as he did so, the soft white scarf that he wore trailing around his torso. "Of course my lord, I will see to it right away." The aoide straightened and accepted the tube, departing quietly from Water's presence. He was deep inside his chambers, and his eyes traveled over to the stream that made it's way through each of his rooms. Rainbows of color shot through the water and it made him smile. The koi that Beryl had given him long ago still swam, oblivious to the hardships of those outside their small world.

Eftemie
Lisana made her way up the rest of the stairs, teeth still tugging her lower lip as she began looking at the doors. The first few she looked at she decided that they were not Water's room. They were various shapes and sizes but she was quite certain that someone who had an affinity for water would not be behind them.

Curiosity got the best of her though upon hearing the sounds of children. That sounded like the voice of the little goddess. Or at the very least a voice very similar. Hesitantly she walked towards the room, a faint smile twitching her lips upwards. Arlecchino had talked quite a bit about the little goddess, but upon hearing the children bickering and playing she wondered if she should interrupt. Instead she found herself listening in amusement stifling a giggle at that audacity of the one.

"Only cheating because he got caught." she laughed softly, shaking her head. Turning to study the door, she knew it was exactly what Kaelin would have chosen. And she had Efte's memories of the place also. It was still the same.

Una and Baird didn't notice Lisana when she first arrived the two too wrapped up in their playing to notice. Hearing the goddess to the side Una paused and looked over smiling brightly, "Hello!" Waving a small purple hand looked over the new arrival curiously. Turning slightly Una looked up toward her father's door following Lisana's gaze, "your looking for my Daddy?!" Giggling happily the little goddess jumped to her feet, her eyes pausing a moment to watch the bubbles around Lisana in wonder.

Baird blinked slightly moving back out of the way as the game of bickering ended. Shifting uncertainly a moment the oni then opted for standing to his slight full height and taking on a serious expression; standing as Una's guardian. Although he happily played with Una when others gathered the young oni was determined to show a more serious face.

"I'll get him!" Without leaving much time to react Una had the door of her father's room open and was yelling inside, "Daddy! A bubble woman is here for you! She's pretty!"

Merci`
Kaelin jerked out of his memories, old memories it felt like now to him. Days when he was more human, more Merci, less the god he was now. He slipped to his feet and adjusted the aqua colored silk pants on his hips. The dark blue scales and the gem that still winked in his hip were visible over the waistband. His bare feet peeked from beneath the wide legged pants as he walked to the door to the room he was using as his staging ground and opened it.

Water's footsteps through the sandy colored hallway didn't make a sound, and stopped inside of the doorway into the main and largest chamber in the labyrinthine rooms. His eyes fell on Lisana and he paused, something about her looked slightly familiar, though it wasn't something he could place. He offered the goddess a rather charming smile before he paced the rest of the way into the room. "greetings lady, I am Kaelin. Is there something you desire of me?" His eyes at the moment were a warming Caribbean blue and he gestured toward some chairs that seemed to jut out of the floor itself. "Please have a seat."

Nixie slipped into the doorway that her father had just vacated, a sour expression seemed to be etched on her features. Her gray robe hung off her and the hair she obviously got from her father was uncombed. She made no move to walk into the room, instead she stayed as far away from the others as she seemed to be able to get.

She didn't seem overly friendly.

Eftemie
Lisana blinked in surprise when the child ran off, attempting to stop her. Then she broke into laughter. "Well, I guess she's quicker than I thought." She winked at Baird. "It was her I wanted to see I think. At least from the description." Glancing around the room, she smiled. It had not changed much.

Then she turned when she heard the footsteps, a smile lighting up her face. He looked the same. "Kaelin!" she laughed, then moved to hug him tightly. Then she blinked, turning slightly red. "I.." her teeth tugged her lower lip suddenly. "I.. " What could she say? "It appears that I've remembered you from my host. Eftemie. She...she and I became one." She broke into laughter. "I apologize. That seems to happen every now and then. She liked you." Then she stopped nervously. "I don't mean I don't.. I mean.. oh hell. open mouth and insert foot yet again."

Breaking into a giggle once more, she introduced herself. "I'm Lisana. Laughter. It was one of your daughters I was actually looking for but she took off so fast that I didn't have a chance to stop her from disturbing you. From the description I had from a servant, it was the little one who ran to you. Una I believe?" She glanced towards Nixie with a smile. "And I'm betting that's her sister. Nixie. Arlecchino told me their names."

Cinderfae
Una reached up hugging Kaelin's arm as she does before turning to look at the goddess. "You came to see me! Really?" Her voice was excited, she wasn't use to getting visitors specifically for her. Pausing a moment she glanced to Baird and then Lisana again and added in a rather serious tone, "I'm not in trouble am I?" She didn't recognize Arle's name in it's long form spoken by the goddess. She thought a moment and was pretty sure she wasn't in trouble after all she hadn't done anything recently that people might get upset about at least not anything she thought anyone would catch.

A grin broke across her face seeing Nixie nearby, dashing over Una gave her sister a small squeeze of the hand and a wink. "Come on Nixie," if her sister could use with meeting any of the other deities she had a feeling Laughter was the one she should meet first.

Merci`
He was a little taken aback by the very affectionate greeting he got from the beautiful lady. It didn't bother him in any way to hug a gorgeous woman so he slipped his free arm around her, as he refused to let those types of opportunities pass him by. "Eftemie you say? Let me think about this..." He trailed off and he gasped quietly, "The pretty lady I showed my rooms. My that was a long time ago wasn't it."

His finned ears were good at picking up noise, and the silent steps of his more gloomy child had not passed by his notice. Una released Kaelin's arm and he shifted it to return the hug. "Well Lisana, I am pleased to see that your awakening seems to be going smoothly. Your host was a very delightful woman, and I am sure very fitting for Laughter."

Oh she wasn't getting out of the hug though, not unless she pushed him away. He spared a glace to his twins and turned so Lisana could see them both. "If my daughter caused you trouble you will have to forgive her. She has a playful nature." His voice warmed when he spoke of Una, it was obvious he doted on the child. "And yes, this is Nixie. The two are goddesses of Rivers and Rain respectively."

The little goddesses startlingly bright sea green eyes locked on Laughter and she didn't really smile. "Yes, I am Nixie..." Her voice was quiet when she talked, and she still had a little bit of the lisp that little children have. Her arms moved to encompass her sister and she leaned her poorly groomed head to Una's shoulder.

Eftemie
She laughed, agreeing. "Yes, exactly so. She remembered the fish you had and how pleasantly you greeted her that day. When the first wave hit, I needed her help and we merged entirely then." She frowned slightly at the memory. "It was not always this easy. I tricked her into this because I needed her so much. I doubt her lover will ever forgive me for it. Tempest is with Mystery now, but her uncle remains with me. I promised."

"And no, Una is not in trouble. I wanted to thank her for letting Arle and Yeti remain here. I was on Baadris and they took shelter with her until I returned." She did not mind the arm around her at all and she was quite glad he was so friendly, but she blushed faintly at the closeness. It was what Eftemie remembered even if she'd only met the god once. "Arle told me of them and I simply wanted to meet your girls and invite them to come play with us for a day. There is always a party and if not then I'll order one up." She laughed again, amusement as well as mischief in her eyes. "Would you like to have a party, girls?"

She turned to Kaelin, daring him to agree with even more mischief in her eyes, "With your permission of course. And you must come also, Kaelin. Some of the people from Baadris returned with us and they are quite colorful and friendly. I think you would like them. It would be fun. And every little girl needs to have a tea party." Strangely it was one of the things she remembered Eftemie's aunt doing for Efte.

Cinderfae
"I remember Arle! She was nice," Una beamed slightly, the flight to the Pantheon had been frightening but the brightly colored jester aoidei was still fondly remembered. "And she had that silly slobbering purple thing. He wanted to eat me you know," she tsked slightly the words coming out in one long stream of dialogue. "But he didn't because he's silly," Una giggled slightly, "and ate purple cookies instead. Arle told me so we got some for him."

Una was completely un phased by her Daddy and Lisana hugging after all she enjoyed hugging people too so didn't see why they shouldn't. Her expression did turn somewhat more serious listening to the talk of Eftemie, Shi'khin had told her about the hosts that had died so the gods could live. A thought of what Eftemie must have been like passed through her mind but before any sort of deep considerations could be made the thought was gone at the mention of a party.

"A party!" Una beamed brightly, "Daddy please! I want to go, and Nixie" she looked to her grumpier sister, "Nixie you need to come with me, and we can find Cindy!" Cindy was the young human girl she had found along with Yaxha in a Church during Gehenna, an orphan the girl had been easily accepted amongst the gypsies that made up Yaxha's people. "She loves tea parties too!"

Merci`
Kaelin's hands spanned across Lisana's lower back as he stood close to her. She smelled really good, it had been entirely to long since he had found himself in this kind of position. It was the little things that were attractive, the light laughter that seemed to come from her all the time, the bubbles, her hair. Okay her hair was actually very pretty, and Water reached a hand up to brush some of the strands away from her face.

Mmmm... It was soft to the touch. Kaelin's hand moved back to the front of her head and he stroked his fingers through her hair, almost petting her.
"I'm sure we can find time. It would be good for the girls to get out a little bit and stretch. I have to take assessment of my lake as well. See how badly off it is and what it would take to make it thrive again."

That lake would always be Kaelin's home. The rooms in the Pantheon were comfortable, but they were not the natural cold deep waters he craved.

Nixie humphed a bit and turned her eyes from Lisana to Una. "But I don't like tea parties..." She trailed off. Really Nixie didn't like much of anything. Usually when asked that was what she said, "But if you really want to go I suppose it wouldn't hurt."

Eftemie
"Well, Arle remembered you both also." Lisana smiled, remembering how the aoide had said she ran into Yaxha and Una. "And Yeti... well, he's just like a big puppy. I taught him to eat purple coookies rather than purple fairies. I didn't imagine the fairies liked being eaten."

At the mention of Cindy, Lisana nodded, assuming it was another child. "Of course bring Cindy with you. There are other children at the inn who would be around to play with. You would all be welcome at any time. Not just today."

Lisana shivered slightly. She could not ever remember feeling like this, but Eftemie had memories of she and Tempest. Briefly she wondered if she should be worried about this but as she thought about it, she really did not mind it. It was what Eftemie remembered about him. He was a touchy feely person as her host had thought of him. But then Eftemie herself was one to hug alot. There was something soothing about Kaelin and she had liked him from the start. Was that because of what she was feeling or was it because of Eftemie? Did it matter?

"Then let's get your friend on the way and your father can tell me of his lake while we walk to the inn. There is usually a tea party in the courtyard." She laughed suddenly, watching Kaelin. "Will you escort me to the tea party, my Lord?" She curtsied to him, just watching him in amusement.

Cinderfae
Una beams happily at Kaelin's response, "yay! And the lake! I want to go swimming," turning slightly she gives her sister another hug. When Nixie first answers Una's face falls with disappointment only to brighten when her sister gives and says she will go as well, the answer is rewarded with another tighter hug and a giggle.

"I'm going to make sure everyone knows! And Tin and Tang can come as well they like tea!" Those that knew the little goddess might recognize the name of two imps that had taken up following her ever since the Day of the Dead. The creatures were mischievous to say the least and the trouble they would cause was likely to be as entertaining as it was troublesome. Una scampered off toward the side rooms likely to find Yaxha and the others so there would be a small band of gypsies as well as other creatures to add to the festivities.

Baird glanced sideways to those present, he knew his goddess tended to be over excitable at times and seemed uncertain at how the others would react.

Merci`
Kaelin inclined his head and offered his arm to Lisana. "I would be delighted my lady. It has been a very long time since I had the oportunity to escort a beautiful lady to an event of this caliber. I hope you won't mind if I share my attention however, as there are two other gorgeous girls that will be needing my attention." His eyes strayed from Laughter to the retreating back of his impish daughter. "I would hate for them to feel they weren't getting the attention they deserve after all." His eyes again moved onto his more sedate daughter. He snuck a hand out and ruffled her hair. "Nixie darling, why don't you go brush your hair?"

Nixie's face scrunched up and she made a very stubborn sound. She had no desire to brush her hair, or anything else. The urge to rain on their parade, as it were, was rising inside of her. Little wisps of clouds started forming over her unkemp crown as she glared at her father.

Water reached out and brushed his fingers through the tangled mane. The color was so close to his own that it made him smile a little bit. "Nevermind my darling. I wouldn't want you as anything other then as you are. Besides, you would be so pretty no one would be able to look at anything else." His tone was soft and he pulled the grumpy little girl closer giving her a one armed hug. "Go be sure your sister doesn't take forever about organizing her entourage. We don't want to keep our guest waiting." Through the entire exchange he never lowered his arm, or moved it away from Lisana.

The dark clouds disapated at her fathers attentions. It was obvious the little goddess loved her father, and she offered him a tiny half smile before she turned to follow her sister. "Uuunaaaaa... Daddy says to hurry up..."

Eftemie
Lisana laughed, taking his arm. "I don't mind sharing them so long as you don't mind sharing them with me." She watched Nixie leave and then stated, "I have some gifts for them so I hope you won't mind my pulling them away from the party for a few moments. I found the most wonder dressmaker in Baadris and I thought that perhaps they would enjoy a new dress. She's very skilled and so are the ladies that work with her. They brought some of the finest silks I've ever seen with them. Maybe they will let me put some matching beads and shells in their hair."

Turning to watch Kaelin a moment, she smiled. "I'm glad you and your daughters don't mind my stealing all of you for the afternoon. Or as long as you will let me." Her eyes twinkled for a moment, but then she became a bit more serious. "Things have really been rough on everyone lately and sometimes a person just needs to enjoy themselves." Her lips twitched upwards as she stated, moving the hair from her eyes with her other hand. "That's usually what gets me into trouble. Should we meet them downstairs then?"

Cinderfae
Despite her father's fears Una was actually very good at mobilizing her entourage. By the time her sister called she had the Oni, imps, an unseelie fey, a demonic cat, and a smattering of mortals preparing to come with her. "Tell him we won't be too much longer! After all I'm not bringing everyone."

The small human child, Cindy giggled slightly cuddling up the dark cat with glowing red eyes as Yaxha shooed the Oni children toward the door of Water's rooms. Baird stayed to the side attempting to keep watch over everyone and keep his siblings from being too much of a handful.

In the rush and confusion of it all, the imps popped out of site and tugged on hair, tied shoe laces together, and created general mayhem when able. A zap of magic from the small fairy caused to the two devils to screech and go into hiding at least for the time being.

Arriving at the front door Una beamed, "I'm ready!" She was excited and couldn't wait to see what sort of party the goddess of laughter would host.

Merci`
Kaelin's mouth turned up in a genuine smile. His normally hard eyes softened as he took Lisana's hand and tucked it though his arm. "My dear, we are utterly delighted to be stolen. My girls should experience more then these rooms and the world as it has been." He put his long fingers over hers and guided her toward the doorway. "Una will probably march her army down in a few minutes. We can wait for them outside."

As they passed by a table he paused and moved his hand from where he had it over hers. He held up one finger and then opened a drawer, pulling from it a slender deep blue velvet bag. It looked like it held some kind of small rod in it, and the god tucked it into his waistband before he continued to lead her out of his small private domain.

Nixie folded her hands in front of herself and watched the parade with disapproval. Everything had to be so tumultuous, nothing could be quiet. The small wisps of black cloud drifted over the girls head as she brought up the rear. She just wanted to find a nice corner and doodle, but it didn't seem to be in the cards for the day. Her fingers reched up and found a piece of her own hair. Nixie twisted it around her index finger, this was going to be a long day.

Eftemie
It did not take them long to get to the inn. It was practically across the street. Hasheem and the guards had bowed as Lisana led them inside. For a moment, the captain frowned at the closeness of Lisana and Kaelin, but he shoved it aside, bowing as they walked past. Fashad had caught the expression on his friend's face, but both knew that Lisana was far out of Hasheem's reach. She was a goddess and as such, she would be drawn to another god whether it was Lord Water or not.

The room she led them to was the larger area at the front of her own suite. Fabrics had been draped decoratively around the walls. A large comfortable couch was centered at one side with several large cushions for seats scattered around it. Small tables had cups, plates, and brightly colored napkins waiting. Several plates of cookies and sweet rolls as well as a cake or two ready to be eaten. Arlecchino and a few others waited to serve them, though milk and juices had been selected for the children though a pot of tea was waiting on Lisana and Kaelin. After introducing the aoide to Kaelin, she indicated that the children find seats quickly, the couch for herself and Kaelin.

Mian bowed as they entered, the old seamstress standing to one side. Both little goddesses caught her eye, easily distinguished from the description she had been given of them. Judging their size and the coloring, she decided what fabrics would look best upon them. And perhaps even some of the pearly shells and beads in their hair. She disappeared down the hallway, a lightness in her step as she planned what to make for them. They would be beautiful.

"Are you ready, Arle?" she asked as she glanced over with a smile at Kaelin and then back. Pouring the god a cup of tea, Lisana looked back to the aoide. Then she poured one for herself as she watched to see that the children were being served. Several of the women had moved, their bright colored skirts swishing as their bracelets and anklets jangled with their movements. They served the children with smiles as they themselves watched in amusement.

"Yes, my Lady." she laughed moving towards the area where fabrics had been draped as curtains to hide the entertainers that were waiting there. "First, send in the clowns."

Pulling it to the side, Arlecchino grinned widely as the first toppled in giving her a glare as if she had done that to him purposely. Several more simply stepped over the top of him, tripping on their way in which began a slapstick comedy of mistakes and tumbling. A patchwork of clutziness followed that had one poor clown carrying a bucket of water around with him. He would get pushed and shoved by the others but each time he would miraculously regain his balance and hold his bucket high and never spill a drop. Until the very end when he glanced back at the others to breathe in relief and then turned tripping as he faced Una and her sister. Down he went and all over them the supposed water flew upwards into the air. But as it came down, sparkles filled the air as not water but glitter scattered around them all.

Cinderfae
Una's eyes were wide as they were ushered to find spots to sit, there was bustling activity and the little goddess attempted to see everything that was happening all at once which left her unable to really focus on any of it. Cindy settled into a seat next to Una the little human girl beaming as she watches the commotion. Baird stands behind the two attempting to take on a stoic appearance practicing his guarding.

Una's attention was pulled forward hearing Cindy's voice, "clowns!" giggling Una looked over to where the other girl gestured squirming with anticipation. Beaming she leans over to her sister and gives her a little hug. She considered attempting to talk to Nixie about the clowns but had a feeling her sister would be less then enthused.

She couldn't stop herself from whispering to her sister though, "clowns - what else do you think will happen. Lisana seems very nice, I'm going to ask her about what I talked to Froggy about if I get a chance."

Merci`
The lord of water settled on the couch with Lisana and help her hand tucked through his arm. He his attention was diverted to the show and he watched the antics of the colorfully clad clowns with an amused tilt to his mouth. He artfully lounged, leaning his body close to the Goddess so he could exchange quiet words with her while watching his children. "Una seems to be enjoying herself immensely." It was his more withdrawn daughter that was worrying him at the moment. "And Nixie, well I am simply glad she is out of her room. I'm sure she's secretly enjoying herself." Worry did color his tone however, he wasn't sure what to do with her.

Nixie sat with her sister and endured the hug. She really did love being close to Una, but the noise and the chaos of the performance was a little overwhelming. Her eyes got wide and before she knew it she was pressing herself back against Una. The little wisps of cloud that floated around her started to congeal as the glitter showered down and got stuck in her hair.

Nixie was experiencing something akin to sensory overload, and all of it at once kinda scared her.

Eftemie
Lisana watched the girls for a few moments, noting they were enjoying the clowns. She knew there would be a break shortly so that the children could enjoy something to eat but also so that she could get the girls out to give them their presents. Mian and the others had already begun them before the invitation. Now they simply needed fitted and dressed up for their father.

"I'm glad they are." Lisana whispered leaning closer to him so that he could easily hear her whispers. For a moment she watched Nixie after glancing at Kaelin. His eyes had been warm but now they were rather stormy as he watched his daughter. A faint crinkle appeared on her brow for but a few seconds.

It was then the clowns bowed and hurried off the stage their playing finished. A group playing music came up and at her nod began to play soft but lively music.

"Do you mind if I take your girls and their friend with me for a few moments, Kaelin? I have something for them and I think you will like it when they return." she smiled, then laughed. "And no peeking. The music and food will have to amuse you until we return unless you want the clowns back."

Her eyes sparkled merrily at her secret that awaited as she got to her feet. "I promise that it will be worth the wait. Nixie, Una, would you and your friend come with me please? I have a surprise for you."

Cinderfae
Una could tell that her sister was becoming upset, reaching over she attempted to pull her back to sit back further on the pillows. Crawling over she sat more forward and attempted to make a shield of sorts between the chaos and her sister, glancing over she spoke softly "it's alright Nixie...we can make them go away if you want."

But she didn't have time to chase the clowns away they finished their act and were heading off before she knew it. Relaxing some she turned to see if her sister was feeling better her attention was drawn back listening to laughter.

Una glanced over to her father curious of how he'd respond, then back to Nixie, "I'll be with you when we go with Laughter," the godling attempted to sound reassuring but had a feeling she was likely not doing such a great job at it.

Merci`
Kaelin turned his eyes over to Lisana, and he nodded slowly. "It's kind of you, to arrange gifts for my girls. I don't think I have any way to repay you at the moment but I will be sure to think of something." He gave her a sly grin and a wink. "If they get out of hand just call me. I will be fine with the music and food. There is plenty here to keep me entertained.

Water shifted and sat a little straighter on the couch, accepting a drink and some fruit as trays passed by. His eyes moved back down to his daughters, slightly amused that Una was being so protective.

Nixie glanced up at the sound of Lisana's voice and her head turned to look back. Laughter was standing up and seemed to be waiting for them. "What's going on now?" The cloud wisps slowly faded as he distress was replaced by honest curiosity. Rain really did like presents, their daddy brought them all the time. Usually precious pearls and bits of shells made into something, though she doubted this present was like that.

She slowly got up and grabbed Una's hand, moving to stand behind her sister a little bit.

Eftemie
Lisana took the girls to one of the side rooms. Mian was waiting with her seamstresses. They had been working the entire time on the dresses. In the end, the old tailor had decided on two colors of the same style dress for each girl. And there were even two waiting on their human friend.

"Girls, this is Mian. My gifts to you are silk dresses that I had made for you. I hope you like them." she laughed, eyes gleaming mischievously. "Won't your father be surprised by new dresses?"

She reached out to touch each girl's should gently. "What do you say that we dress you up in them and fix your hair for you daddy? Wouldn't you like to surprise him? I bet he knows where there are some beautiful shells for your hair later. You could ask him once he sees the dresses. He'd want to look for the perfect ones."

Mian bowed to the little girls and Lisana as did all her seamstresses. "Please come this way. They may need adjusted just a bit, but other than that, they are nearly done."

The two dresses for Una were bright green similar to what she wore as well as a teal that shimmered. The top and skirt left her stomach bare but suited her perfectly. Nixie's dresses were deep violet and a deep grayblue. Both were one piece and all were decorated with pale lace to bring out the luminescence of the silk fabric. The human girl's dresses were a bit more simple, a little less lace but no less pretty on the child.

"I think you will be beautiful." Lisana stated with confidence as she watched the children. "All three of you."

12.08.09

Pulling the men from Baadris together, Hasheem studied them silently for a moment judging their abilities. Some he knew. Others he knew names for. Some would be suited for guarding and others fro gathering in pairs. Weapons were needed and so too were many other things. Leading the group to the edge of the town, the Captain gave each a duty. Fashad and two other guards were to remain watchful looking for danger in the area. Abdul, Yafir, and the rest were to work in pairs for safety, and gather any metals they could find.

A couple packhorses served to pull the cart that had been crudely made for such a purpose. Two wheels moved it but things needed to be placed properly to keep it balanced. It was nothing fancy but it served its purpose.

The remains of the town appeared before them as the men moved away from the green space and into the debris looking around for what they could find. Each day they foraged further and further from the safety of the Pantheon, but it was a necessary thing. Carefully they gleaned the iron and other metals placed each article carefully in the cart.

Even though there had been little to attack them, Hasheem and his men remained ever watchful, and keeping a close eye on the men under their care. It would help noone for them to be injured. Whether guard or gatherer.

By late afternoon, the cart was full, and he glanced upwards to see Saljin flying overhead. He knew it was the man when he swooped low towards them then circled back upwards. It was a signal that nothing was awry. Beginning the slow trip back to the smithy, Hasheem was unsure how many actually knew of the place. There seemed to be few around except for those of Mystery, Laughter, Fire, and Oath.

But even then a count had been approximated for the number of weapons needing forged. His father and Tempest were meant to enchant for strength unless other magical enhancements could be found. But all were doing the best they could with what they had at this moment.

It was amazing that they had survived at all. Glancing around Hasheem stopped them. "Unload the wagon here. Keep it to the side so that it can be reached easily without getting in the way."

His eyes gave a cursory glance over the stacks as the men moved the raw metals to the separate piles based on type of metal. Their supplies were growing and soon they would begin melting all of it down into bars to be forged into blades. It was not much in comparison to what was needed, but it was a start. Every little bit helped, didn't it?

He thought it did and for the first time in a long time, everything was looking up. The gods seemed to feel it as much as the mortals. And that was all many of them cared about.

It was getting better.

They were headed back to the forge area when the corner of a metal cabinet was seen. Hasheem looked it over and the stack of debris on top of it. They could find something useful.

"I think we can get it, Fashad. But the problem is getting the other garbage off it."
A frown crossed his face as ideas flickered but then rejected. They would simply have to spend the time moving the things off to get to it. If metal were not so scarce, Hasheem would have bypassed it entirely as a safety measure. But with necessity came conservation and reuse of things one would have trashed before. They needed the metal.

The men began slowly moving and shifting debris to get to the metal cabinet and whatever lay near it that could be used. Hasheem watched over them as the stack of garbage became more and more precarious. A frown crossed his face as he turned to watch Abdul.

"Careful!"
he yelled out but then jumped forwards to shove the man out of hte way just as the pile of garbage collaped, falling their direction. Both men hit the ground hardl, missed for the most part. The Captain's legs were covered causing him to wince in pain as something slammed into his ankle. Wooden planks and several pieces of stone wall lay there.

"Hasheem!"
Fashad growled moving towards the man as did the others. "Abdul are you alright?" he asked as the man got to his feet.

"I'm fine." he stated, "but if not for Hasheem, I'd have been buried."

"My leg is pinned, Fashad."
the Captain stated wincing in pain. He tried to shift his position to get more leverage but flinched laying back down.

"I'm sorry. I guess I shouldn't have pulled that last board out." Abdul said softly, rubbing his arm. There was a bruise forming on it already, but nothing serious.

"Just get me out of this mess."
the man growled as he tried to shove the pain off. His ankle and foot ached badly.

The men quickly began working together getting the debris off. When he was finally clear, Fashad looked his foot over. "It's swollen but not broken, I think. I doubt that you'll be walking on it for a day or so. And definitely won't be walking back to the pantheon."

"Great..."
the Captain muttered, "Well, let's get back. Fashad, you are in charge until I'm back on my feet then. Lady Lisana will need to be informed and so will the others at the forge. Hopefully I will be up tomorrow."

"Don't count on it."
Fashad replied in some amusement. "I'd give it more like three days."

"Three days?! I can't afford that much off."

"You will not have a choice. We can't afford for you to end up entirely down for longer. It's already black and blue and just in case something is broken, we need to wait until the swelling goes down entirely."

"We'll see."
he muttered. Lisana depended on him an dhe had to be on his feet. There was no time for him to be down.

"Yes. We will."
Fashad said, amusement crossing his face as he helped seat the man on the cart. He would send Rejali to sit on her brother whether Hasheem liked it or not.

By the time they returned to the Pantheon to drop Hasheem off, the man was in a great deal of pain. They had removed his boot to prevent the tightness from injuring it more. Carrying him up to his room within Lisana's, Fashad and Abdul left him to the care of Arle and Jhyett. Both fussed over him much to his annoyance. Then even worse, Jhyett went directly to Lisana who came immediately and fussed over him for a short time. As soon as the goddess left, Rejali came into the room.

"I'm fine."
he muttered, arm over his eyes. "Just tired."

"You are not, brother of mine. I know you far too well. It hurts and I can see it."
she stated, moving towards the bowl of icey water that Tempest had conjured for her. Shoving her hair back, she watched him a few moments, then stood there with her hands on her hips. "You are going to be down at least a day or two until we can see exactly how much damage there is."

Hasheem sighed, leaning back into the pillow. It was best just to let her have her way. Or he would never hear the end of it.

Rejali sat with her brother ensuring he remained. But once he went to sleep, she spoke quietly to Arlecchino about what to do.

"Did you know there is a man who makes potions and things? I think he's pretty good and staying with Lord Taj. Saljin might know." It was no surprise to her that more people were being found. She had hoped so all along and considering that there were so few many were pulling together and making it known what they could and could not do. Tempest was conjuring food and water now. Not in great quantities, but more than they had previously had. An elf named Shad'era was staying with Taj also and she could conjure fruits, nuts, and berries it seemed. Each was trying to help the others. Gods included.

"An herbalist or an alchemist, Arle?" Rejali's brow scrunched up as she thought about the implications of such. He could be very useful.

"Well, all I know is that he mixes things.
she shrugged, smiling as she thought about how little she knew most of the time. The bells on her collar jingled lightly as she moved excitedly.

"Possibly. See if you can find him for me. He might have some sort of linament or painkiller for Hasheem. That foot is going to hurt alot when he wakes. Even if not broken." She silently watched her brother. Even in his sleep he moved uncomfortably.

"Will do. You did mean now, right?" the aoide replied, getting to her feet and moving towards the door.

Rejali sighed. "Of course now." The aoide was scatterbrained sometimes.

The shifter was speaking to Fashad about the accident when Arle spotted him. Taj may have some of that ointment Jaster used on me. If he does, there won't be much of it. Although.. Graey is a thought."

"Graey? Your alchemist?"
Fashad asked, folding his arms.

"Yes. He's good..."

Arlecchino interrupted suddenly. "Saljin, I've been looking for you."

"Better you than me..."
Fashad whispered softly under his breath.

"Arlecchino, what do you need?"
the shifter asked, his lips twitching at Fashad's words.

"I need to know about this fellow.. umm.. I mean the guy who makes potions. Rejali..."

"You mean Graey?"
Saljin asked. The man had simply showed up one day with Puck. And now the fairies were using a bit of their power to enhance plants he used to make the potions stronger.

"He's most likely in his room, Arle. If he's not gathering ingredients somewhere. Shall I get him? And what does Rejali need?"

"It's for Hasheem. We thought he might have something for pain and some sort of linament to help."
the aoide frowned a bit. "Rejali is with him right now, but she'd like something before he wakes up."

Saljin nodded. "Fashad and I will go see Graey and bring whatever to her."

Turning away with a nod, she moved merrily down the hallway and back to Lisana's rooms. She was sure they would take care of it now.

Saljin glanced over at Fashad, "You might as well meet him. He's not a bad fellow. Just very focused most of the time. Not entirely sure where he came from, but don't touch anything."

"Picky is what I would call that. How am I not supposed to be curious?"
Fashad smirked as his eyes gleamed in amusement.

"Deal with it."
Saljin replied then laughed as Fashad fell into step with him.

When they found Graey after getting the salve from Taj, he was in the room he used to process potions. A small wood burning stove allowed him to heat the things he needed and the table beside was filled with glass bottles, bowls and cups all meant to be used for mixing his complicated or even simply concoctions. Graey delighted in creating things of this fashion and whenever he discovered something new he was ecstatic over it. But it had been some time since he had found anything new.

"Graey, you in here?"
Saljin asked as he both knocked on and opened the door.

"Yup. In here." he called from the second room, his bedroom being the first and the one they were in.

"This is Fashad. He's one of Lady Lisana's. Can you make some more of this? I need this for Hasheem. He got injured today, but Taj only has one jar left. Take a sample and.."

Fashad looked the fellow over. He wore nearly all black and his black hair, though long and straight was pulled back neatly and his goatee was trimmed up well. He was tanned and it was not hard to tell that he was outside alot. A sword and pair of daggers lay sheathed on a table near the bedside. Fashad would have to remember that the man could defend himself if he ever had to help him with anything. It made it easier when someone along for the ride knew at least that much.

"Fashad. No need. I've seen that linament before." It had only taken him one glance to identify it. He had been in the Labyrinth once or twice looking for rare plants. They were few and far between but he knew that when he saw it. "I'll see what I can do. You know what it is, right? It's an animal linament, stronger than the human version, but both work well enough."

"Animal linament?"
Saljin sputtered. "That's what Jaster used on... That brat. No wonder he would not tell me what it was and Taj seemed amused when I asked for it for Hasheem." If Jaster had told him, Saljin did not remember, but he was sure that he'd not have forgotten such a thing.

Fashad and Graey broke into laughter. "Used it on you, did he? I'm not surprised. In a pinch it's better than the other anyhow. I've got enough to make another jar but nothing after that unless I find some more of the plant. The few seeds..." he hesitated. "Is there a grower here?"

"Grower? Oh, you mean a gardener. Yes. Arabel and Rem."
Fashad nodded, as Saljin had gone silent.

"I'll check in with them. Maybe they can grow some from the few seeds I have. At least a start or something. Puck can enhance them afterwards so that leaves have more potency. I should have some from this batch though by tomorrow. Anything else?"

"Yes. Anything already made up for pain?"

Graey thought for a moment, his pale blue eyes almost luminous like moonlight. "Perhaps." He moved over to a grouping of tiny bottles. "This should do the trick. It's pretty strong. Just one or two drops in a cup of tea should work about every five to six hours or so." He tossed the bottle to Saljin with a grin. "Make sure that's understood. We don't want him forgetting who he is or wandering around in his underwear."

Fashad and Saljin turned to stare at one another, but suddenly burst into laughter. "Can you imagine that? Somehow I do not think that Hasheem would be as amused by it as we are."

"Behave yourselves." Graey smirked.

"There's no fun in that."
Saljin replied as he and Fashad left. Now to get this back to Rejali for when Hasheem woke. The gathering tomorrow would be done without him.

08.26.10

His ankle had healed fine but Arle, Rejali, and Delphine were constantly fussing over him. In some ways it frustrated him. They were not the ones he wanted to fuss.

It was Lisana.

His feelings for her had grown but she seemed unaware of them. Or at least she pretended to be. Something had stirred in him from the moment he had seen the goddess. She was much changed from that but what he had seen in her was still shining through. He had folllowed her because of circumstances, but then again, it was not entirely that.

The things Hasheem felt while watching her were the reasons he had urged his family to follow wherever she led. It had been the right choice at the right time for all of them. And it had been especially right for him.

But as he watched her adn Lord Water get closer and closer, the captain understood she was not his. She would never be except as his goddess to protect. It stung a bit as the thought took shape with even a bit of jealousy filtering down and flickering through his expression. But in the end, Hasheem sighed. He had never seen her so happy as when she was with Kaelin. But that in itself caused another worry. What if Water injured her? He had heard the rumors of the god. Did she know? Should she be told?

A frown appeared as he walked away. There was nothing he could do to stop it. In the end all he could do was hope that such an event did not happen. The god was spoiling her with poetry, gifts, and himself. Even his daughters loved Lisana and considered her as a mother figure as her laughter drew them closer and closer with each passing day.

Perhaps his worry was for naught. Perhaps it was simply his own wants and needs spilling over as the impossibility of it all dropped on him. He could only fulfill protecting her with his life. But for now he would remain attentive and protective. It was what she needed and his own needs did not matter.

Someone jolted into him as he rounded the corner, driving him from those thoughts forcefully. He blinked upon seeing Arabel carrying a rather large basket of seedlings.

"Oops! Sorry, Hasheem! I didn't see you there!"
the girl blinked in surprise. "I guess I should have been paying more attention to what I was doing. And going." A giggle slipped free as she watched him closely.

"It is fine, Arabel. I was not watching where I was going either."
A grin crossed his face as he gazed down at her. She was nearly a foot shorter than he was. "Where are you going with such a large basket of seedlings?"

"Rem asked for them. I've two more to carry to him yet."
she said indicating those sitting nearby.

The man frowned a moment. It would take her two more trips yet to get this done. "Graey should be helping you. Or Sayd. They are both assigned to Rem right now."

"Oh, Graey's off doing something with his potions for Rem and Sayd has been digging the spot we are putting these. Noone else to carry them but me."
she shrugged it off agreeably. "It will be fine."

"I see."
the Captain replied, moving towards the baskets. "Then I'll help since I've nothing else to do at the moment. I can spare the time."

"Really?"
she smiled widely. "Thank you. Rem gets demanding sometimes, but I love the plants so much that I can put up with him."

Hasheem laughed, shaking his head. "Don't let Rem hear you say that."

The girl adjusted her basket so she could use one hand to shove the hair from her eyes. They had been slowly expanding the area around the Pantheon trying to help Forest and Creation by doing what they could. Her gift of growing things had come in handy while Graey concocted potions, Sayed dug, and Rem ordered them all about.

"How is your ankle? I'm not going to get into trouble from Rejali for your helping, am I?"
she teased as they began walking again.

"It's fine. Little pain now."
His eyes watched her thoughtfully a moment before turning back to the path ahead of them. "I think that there are a few of the older children who might be able to help you. I noticed the other day that some seemed at a loss on what to do. And it would be better to give them something rather than let them find trouble to get into."

She suddenly giggled stopping to stare at him. "Is it always work with you? I mean.. it's a beautiful day. You ignored my teasing and are instead walking around rather gloomy and trying to find jobs for people." Her words were both a tease and the truth.

Hasheem turned to stare at her. Her eyes said she was laughing at him. The man felt a slow flush climb upwards as he gaze at her. Her eyes dared him and he blinked a second time, causing her to break into outright laughter.

"I think you are trouble, Arabel."
he finally stated, his lips curving upwards.

She giggled again, replying, "I could be I suppose, but you just had such a serious expression on your face that I had to interrupt it. Much better now. But I suppose we should get these to Rem before we are both in trouble."

Hasheem nodded, but watched her as she walked. She had the same... joy? within her that had drawn him to Lisana. Why had he not seen it before? Perhaps it was not the goddess at all that pulled at him so much as what she represented. Joy and Laughter were the things that allowed people to live - truly live their lives no matter their circumstances.

Arabel continued to chatter as they moved, drawing Hasheem's eyes back to her. In a few moments they were laughing as Rem directed them to planting. As he watched her, his jealousy faded away, forgetten as he began to find some of the lightness he had formerly carried within. Perhaps this was what he was looking for after all.

Thabara
Itsy bitsy spider … climbing up the spout … down came the rain … and washed the spider out … A child, a girl of maybe eight years age, was kneeling on all four on one side of the hallway, her long black hair dragging across the ground as she ran her fingers along the edge where wall and flooring met, searching. Where are you, my itsy bitsy spider~?

She tilted her head to the side slightly, eyes closed, as if attempting to listen for the sound of tiny scuttling feet.

It had worked before, in fact, late at night, when all had been asleep and quiet, shhh … shhh … But not now, too busy, too noisy, with all these people out and about. Maybe she should go and try to find some flowers instead, those had been yummy too. Or a fish. She still wanted a fish, ever since aunt Cos had told her about them ...

Eftemie
User ImageEveryone at the inn had settled in nicely and she had slipped away as Hasheem was giving orders on things that needed cleared away to give herself a few moments to try to find some information. Some part of her was still bothered by Byrne's actions though she understood them. But they needed to find a way to restore the sky and Rebirth. Perhaps she'd put a note on the board and see what happened.

Her lips twitched as she turned the corner to see the child playing. She wondered whose child it was, but she had seen a few during the ceremony that she was quite certain were godly children. Perhaps she should get to know one of them.

"Are you looking for something?" Lisana asked, kneeling down beside her. "Can I help?"

"Yeti help too!" the purple creature yelled as he came barreling around the same corner. He nearly ran into the wall as his wings pulled him to a halt in the air. His great raspberry eye blinked as it watched both.

Thabara
User Image'Looking for something' had, perhaps, been the wrong expression to use, as it became quite evident when the girl turned her head into their direction. For, where others had their eyes, she had only dark, empty hollows.

„A spider!“ she exclaimed cheerfully, seeming not the least bothered by the bad choice of wording whatsoever. If she had even noticed at all. She was still a child after all, even though she was becoming vaguely aware by now she seemed to be missing out on something essential …

„Or something other creepy-crawly,“ she added thoughtfully. She wasn't really picky. „Like, a centipillar?“ Soto had told her of these, that they were like worms with many, many, many legs. And they had crunchy shells too.

Eftemie
((Ack! Sorry Thabby. For some reason this never popped to the top of my list or I missed it when it did. >_< ))

"Spiders or centipillars? Can't say I've found any bugs like that." Kneeling down beside the little girl, she laughed softly. "What makes you think they would be here and not in an old garden or even an old basement? Are you planning to pull a prank on someone with it? That's what I would do." She admitted, laughing again. " But the only creepy thing I have is Yeti, but then he's more funny than creepy now. And he's not small like a bug."

Lisana glanced around them. "I would think that with so many people here, the little bugs would be scared off. Afraid of being stepped on and squished. At least if I were a bug, I would move out of the way."

Yeti bobbled from side to side, his wings slowly drifting him down to within a few inches of the floor. "Yeti eat bugs? Purple tastie bugs?" he asked as his great raspberry eye watched the child and Lisana closely.

Thabara
„Daddy wont allow me to go down on my own. Or out. He says it's too dangerious for me.“ The way she scrunched her nose and her lips pulled into a pout clearly told she wasn't happy with that. „But I found a spider here the other night. I eated it.“ She grinned. „It was crunchy and went pop-pop between my teeth.“

„Do you know where to find more?“ she inquired eagerly. Certainly, if she went with someone grown up, it would be okay to leave? „And what does purple taste like?“ Red and blue and green and orange all tasted awful, but she hadn't had a chance to get her grabby little hands on a purple crayon yet. Maybe those were different. „And what's a prank?“ Too many new things at once! But this one sounded like it might be fun.

Eftemie
Lisana's expression went from surprised-perhaps a bit horrified that the child was eating bugs-to amusement after glancing at Yeti who was drooling beside her at the mention of 'purple'. She finally giggled, sitting down beside the child.

"What is your name?" she asked and then added, "And you should not go outside alone. I take my guards with me. Or Yeti. Though he's not very brave." She frowned thoughtfully. "I'm not sure what purple tastes like but...."

She dug around in her pocket pulling out a small bag with purple people shaped cookies in it. Yeti's treats. "I have some purple tasties that Yeti likes." Taking one of the cookies, she reached over taking the girl's hand and placing the cookie into her palm. "They crunch."

"Yeti's tasties!" Yeti grumbled at Lisana as she placed one into the child's hand. His great eye turned in irritation as he watched the cookie closely.

Thabara
„Am Crys,“ Lacrymosa said, pronouncing it 'cries' rather than 'Chris'. „I have guards, but they are invisible.“ Or so Kios had told her, as she wasn't really able to discern between something visible and invisible. „They feel like cold air when I bump into them. Who are you?“

She sniffed at the gift the stranger had given her, out of curiosity rather than caution, and quickly broke into a broad grin as she recognized the delicious smell. „A cookie!!“ Soto had brought her one once, and later they'd made more with Jess. Skull-shaped cookies. This one was … Eagerly she traced the cookie's shape with her fingers. „And it's … Oh, it's shaped like a little person!“ She exclaimed enthusiastically. She rather liked that.

Purple didn't taste all that bad, she figured, after biting off the cookie-person's head. Or maybe cookie-purple tasted differently from crayon-purple? Colors just didn't make sense to her.

„Is yummy,“ she declared. There'd never been a warning from her parents to not accept gifts from strangers – she was a goddess, after all, it was only natural for people wanting to give her gifts. They had, however, taught her manners. „Thank you,“ she said, still chewing.

Eftemie
"Invisible guards...." She snickered slightly. That could be very interesting especially if they were prone to playing tricks. A thought to hold onto for later. "My name is Lisana, Crys. It's very nice to meet you."

She tossed a cookie to Yeti. "Arlecchino makes the cookies for Yeti. It keeps him from eating the fairies. I can't imagine a real fairy tastes good at all." Placing another cookie in the child's hand, she asked, "Who are your parents? Maybe I know them."

It had never really occurred to her that there were godly children until she met Una and Nixie. It was not something she had considered. She had no children before the fading and she doubted she would have any this time either. She'd have to be responsible then, and it was enough that she had her godly duties to take care of. Laughter and parties took up all her time. And this way she could play with them, spoil them, and give them back to their parents to take care of.

Drool dropped down beside her again as Yeti watched the cookies closely. He was unhappy that Sana kept giving his 'purple tasties' away.

Thabara
„My papa is Nergal,“ she said, happily nibbling on the new cookie given to her, biting off first the head, and then the limbs. „My mommy is Echo. And I have a brother, and a brother. Two brothers,“ she announced, stretching out her free hand with two fingers pointing upwards, all too happy to be able to demonstrate that she could count. „And, I have an uncle, and an aunt. Aunt Cos teached me how to count. And, she reads me funny rhymes all the time.“ She beamed, that said aunt apparently being a favorite person of hers.

„I would like to know what fairies taste like,“ she mused, clearly intrigued. She'd never met any, but her mommy had explained they were like miniature people with wings. „Can I have more cookies?“

Eftemie
User Image"Nergal. Echo." she repeated, a faint memory of meeting them slipped down over her. Eftemie had that night at the carnival. Had she? "I know your parents then. Sort of. My host met them a long time ago. She liked them alot. Aunt Cos... Cosine? I could see her teaching you how to count." Lisana giggled slightly. Cosine was numbers afterall. "We are friends."

She and Cosine had had great fun causing so much trouble in Baadris for the guards. It was why they had come away with so many people drawn to them. Even in hard times, people needed distraction and it was all they had a chance to do.

"As for the fairies, I don't think they will taste any better than the bugs and spiders do. Here, take the rest of this bag of cookies. Share them with your brothers. Yeti can have more when he gets back to my room."
She smiled placing the bag in the child's hand. There were probably about nine left in it. "Don't eat them all yourself," she reminded. "You will end up with a tummy ache and then your mommy and daddy will be angry at me for giving them to you."

"No Sana! Yeti's purple tasties!"
he growled selfishly. Moving forwards, he intended to grab the bag and fly away. But he miscalculated his distance. Instead he landed with a plop in Crys's lap. Surprised he just sat there unsure what to do as Lisana began to giggle.

"Silly Yeti."
she smirked.

Thabara
„Cosine, yes.“ The child nodded. That was auntie's full name, though she certainly liked the short version better. It was a lot easier to say. And this lady was a friend of her favorite auntie? She wondered if that made her an aunt as well. It would be quite nice to have more than one aunt, she figured, especially if they kept doing fun stuff with her. And this one certainly seemed fun.

„I have friends too,“ she announced with as much dignity as she could muster, gratefully accepting the bag with cookies. This … really was all for her? This person definitely was worthy to be called an aunt. „Sankyooooo,“ she cooed happily. Odd, how everyone warned her about tummy aches though. She'd never gotten any, no matter how much or what she ate.

She drew in a surprised gasp when Yeti ended up in her lap so suddenly, but the next moment she was gingerly exploring the strange creatures features with her little hands. Only one eye, how curious. And wings, and many sharp teeth, and what was that pointy thing on top? She hadn't encountered anyone bearing horns yet.

„Cookies were yours?“ she inquired. She was a child still, but her father had made quite sure to teach her about what was right and what was wrong, though not everything of it made sense to her. However, you couldn't just give something away that didn't belong to you in the first place, that was just wrong.

„Want back?“ she offered hesitantly. That was the right thing to do, and she was sure it would make her daddy happy, if he knew. But to part with the cookies as soon as she had gotten them … Her lips quivered, ever so slightly, and a small wave of sadness emitted from the young deity, transferring to the strange creature resting in her lap.

(( According to Ivy, „Minor Woe“ makes someone feel „a little bit depressed“. Crys abilities aren't controlled in any way yet, and I'm not sure they would work on Yeti at all, as he's one of Laughter's creatures. Leaving the effects – if any – up to you. n_~ ))

Eftemie
"That's good. You should have lots of friends. It makes everything more fun. Parties and games. Even jokes and pranks." Lisana agreed in amusement. She liked this child. She was friendly and fun and even if a little strange looking for a spider to crunch, what did it matter? Yeti was equally as odd wanting to eat little purple fairies all the time.

Yeti watched her for a moment, frowning slightly which was not an easy thing to do when it took two eyebrows to frown properly. He simply looked as if his skin was drooping.

Lisana noticed she kept going back to the horn on Yeti's head. "That's a horn, Crys. Some creatures have two, some only have one. Some have even more that are branched like trees."

"Yeti's, but..."
His great eye rolled as he watched her closely. "Keep." He wanted them but he knew she did too. Strangely he could feel it and shivered slightly. "Sana make Yeti more." Using his wings to back away a little, he still watched her closely.

"Share them with your brothers, Crys."
Lisana laughed. "Yeti will have more later. I think I spoil him too much."

((I rolled a dice on my desk, lol. I've never really explored what Yeti can and cannot do. He was kind of a creature of whim when I made him and just fun to play with from time to time since he's so awkward and silly. If I detail him out, I lose that so, the dice works for now. XD ))

Thabara
Crys pursed her lips thoughtfully. Of the people she knew, only Soto was prone to play pranks on others. For herself, it wasn't as much fun, as she was only able to 'see' people's faces by touching them. Which admittedly was a rather bad thing to do, right after a person had been fooled or otherwise become the victim of a prank.

„Can you be my friend?“ she inquired, clutching the bag with the cookies to her chest. „Or my aunt?“ So those spiky bits were horns? That was fascinating, she would have to find out if more people had them.

„Thank you, Yeti,“ she said earnestly, the gratitude she displayed at the creatures generous offer being genuine, wholly unaware she might have made him do so. Instead she bent forward to place a gentle kiss upon-- Oh, it was somewhat squishy and moist, so it must have been its eyeball, she figured. She hoped that hadn't hurt.

Eftemie
User Image "Your friend or your aunt? Cannot an aunt perhaps be a friend too? I would be delighted with whatever you decide, Crys." She laughed, hugging the girl a moment. An aunt. Neither she nor Eftemie had ever been an aunt before. It was an interesting concept.

Yeti had blinked scrunching up his eyelid as he watched the child goddess. Lisana had been the only one to ever kiss him and he frowned slightly, but watched her silently for a long moment finally deciding it was alright that she had kissed him too. "Is okay, Crys. Sana make Yeti more." he replied, then grinned widely which for Yeti was a particularly hideous sight. "Yeti come play with Crys sometimes, Sana?"

"Of course you can, Yeti. So long as I know where you are." The goddess laughed again. "I'll send more cookies with him when he comes, but you have to share them with your brothers."

Thabara
She blinked, confused a little by the prospect Lisana could apparently be both, aunt and friend. „I want you to be my aunt,“ she finally made up her, after having mulled it over for some time. It seemed to be the more right thing for a grown up person.

„I promise,“ she said earnestly on the matter of sharing the cookies. Soto always brought back to her such nice, interesting treasures from his 'splorings, it would be nice to have something to give to him in turn. He loved cookies, she knew. And Kios … he was closer to her than anyone else, so of course he'd get cookies too! „And I'd like very much for Yeti to come play with me.“ She did seem a little lonely, as she said this.

Eftemie
Lisana laughed, hugging Crys for a moment. "Alright. Aunt it is then, Crys. And Yeti can come whenever you and he want to play together. So long as he tells me where he's going first. That way I have time to get some cookies made for all of you." She included Soto and Kios also. She was certain that all three children and Yeti would end up playing together.

Getting to her feet, she said, "I have to go, Crys. I have other things to do. Enjoy those cookies but don't spoil your supper or your mommy will be angry with me. Go surprise your brothers. They won't be expecting it. And if you ever need me, my door is the one with the big bubbles all over it. Harry will ask you for a riddle but he'll open the door if you give him one."

Yeti's eye rolled around to stare at Lisana and then at Crys. "Crys, Yeti play 'nother day." He turned to Lisana but then turned back to say, "Yeti bring purple tasties."

Joint with Cinderfae

09.23.09
((OOC... This was before Lisana got her rooms and was still at the inn. It wasn't finished then and I forgot to leave a spot for it. So it's being added in now, but will be listed in the index at the proper spot because I use my index as my timeline...))

Cinderfae
Karaskis let a breath out as she stepped from the house, they had been in the home for only a short time but it seemed so much longer. The entourage that she and the Mystery god had been gathering seemed, at least to her, to be growing exponentially. First had come the aoidei as well as other servants from the past, then the mortals, and most recently fiends had been added to the group. Hell and their world had collided and amongst the creatures of the hellish plane they had found allies. Singularly Karaskis didn't have a problem with any of those that were now taking up residence in the house but with so many in such a small place it was quickly becoming wearing.

Being outside especially alone was probably more dangerous then she should allow herself but truthfully the goddess needed a breath. Cinder's inner monologue and control had been fluctuating wildly as well, something the goddess chalked up to the dragon alien and Cinder's son being present. Karaskis considered starting a conversation with her host over it, before their melding could be complete she had a feeling Cinder would need to come to some settlement with her son.

She let her eyes roam a moment not really wanting to start the conversation finally stopping on a nearby inn. The area around the pantheon was empty and quiet, the demons preferring to stalk or stay hidden in the bleak lighting and the mortals were either hiding, gone, or dead but her eyes picked up on a slight bit of movement from the building. Someone else it seemed was living near them, that or it was some sort of demon taking up residence. Frowning Karaskis made her way across the street letting her hand rest on Cinder's weapon resting on her hip as she moved. Still young in her changing she wouldn't have the power to kill a demon without the weapon; pausing at the inn door she reached down finding the front entrance of the structure open. Slowly Karaskis turned the knob and pushed the door open, her eyes darting over the area within as she does.
Eftemie
Rem was standing at the fountain watching as several boys aged about ten or so cleaned the fountain basin and the portions higher. "Make sure you clean it all. My lotuses cannot grow in this mess. It must be spotless." The boys looked more than annoyed at the old gardener but they even at their age had understood the importance of the blossoms.

Taj had returned from the Pantheon to see Karaskis heading towards the inn warily. A frown flickered across his face as he turned towards her instead of the house they were using. She might need help if something was up. But then he remembered. Lisana had spoken of being in the inn nearby and he nearly smirked. She and Kara should meet. He was sure she would like the goddess. He moved behind her silently.

Hasheem glanced over at the door as it opened, in the midst of giving duties to Fashad to pass on. His eyes flickered over Karaskis a moment, frowning, but as he moved towards her. "May I...? " he began but hesitated when Lisana came down the stairs. Several stopped to watch her, bowing as she moved past them before turning back to their work, including Hasheem. His eyes brightened instantly as Fashad's lips twitched as he turned away to pass on the duties for the other workers.

She glanced at the doorway, a smile lighting on her face. A faint memory of the goddess from the ritual. This was Fire though she had no clue what her name was. "Hello. I'm Lisana, the Joyful Idol. Laughter I guess would be the easier way to say it." she smiled and then laughed, her eyes bright. "I saw you at the ritual and I know you are Fire, but I have no clue what your name is and I cannot quite say, hey burning goddess." She began to giggle a hand flying to her lips. Then she noted Taj standing behind her and laughed again. "Taj! It's nice to see you again!"

Cinderfae
Karaskis' eyes quickly took in the scene of the inn, it seemed some mortals had taken up residence in the place and now where attempting to make it livable once again. Her attention was pulled to Hasheem as he approached her, once he started to speak she realized she wasn't sure what she would say to this gathering of mortals.

Tell him you came to borrow a cup of sugar, Cinder's voice flittered through her mind sounding more amused then Karaskis decided she really had the right to be.

Caught in her own inner arguments she didn't focus on Lisana until she was almost to the bottom of the stairs. Somewhat relieved to see another goddess at least the mortals wouldn't be filled with disbelief. Perhaps it was the Goddess' presence but something about her introduction caused Karaskis to smile, offering a slight nod she introduced herself. "Karaskis, the Milagro Rampant," the voices of Cinder and Karaskis blended as she introduced herself by name, but the title was only spoken by the deeper dusky ones of the goddess.

"I didn't mean to intr-" she cut off as Lisana focused on someone behind her, turning slightly she smiled seeing Taj, "Mmm...Lord Mystery, a pleasant surprise."

Eftemie
Taj grinned, then leaned over to kiss her on the lips. Then he nodded to Lisana with a smile still on his face. Taking his paper out, he wrote

"Oh.. I see how it is." she smirked, then broke into laughter. She watched them a moment silently. "I think you suit one another. I offered Taj some of the lotuses to grow if you wanted some later. I figured since they were so important that all of us should have them wherever we are. Besides they are beautiful when they bloom. I'm planning to return to Baadris at some point to see what is left there. If anyone is left, they will need help once everything is solved. The things we saw there were wonderful, but much of it was left behind when the demons began attacking. I'm very glad they are gone now."

Rem mutttered something about giving away more of his blossoms before they were ready. But he knew the goddess was only looking to ensure their surviving. They had just always been precious to him. Taking the right temperature and lighting and fertilization.

Hasheem listened nearby as he continued giving orders to those who came to him for the problems they were having. Sending a second grouping out for supplies, he made note of who the two gods were with Lisana. He would need to know so that when they came to see her, they would be treated properly. But he smiled faintly at the ease with which she accepted both gods. It was what had drawn her that first day. Her amusement and acceptance.

Cinderfae
Smiling slightly Karaskis returned the kiss before glancing back to Lisana, "the Lotuses are lovely and as you said important. I'm not sure I'd have the same touch as Gaia or Forest..." glances toward Ren and then back to Lisana, "but I have a feeling that Scarlet may like them if your trying to find them homes. Plus, the more that we have growing them...the more likely they will be to survive." Her voice fluctuated as Cinder's more human worry entered the thought process; although the voice shifted in change the thought had been more joined and Karaskis at first hadn't even noticed it had come from her host and not herself.

Karaskis' gaze went over toward a few of the people that Lisana had spoken of, "there is still much to be done even with things slowly straightening themselves." Karaskis' eyes looked saddened for a moment a touch of the goddess true age showing. "As for what was left behind or lost...along with picking up so many other pieces, such things can be recreated. Perhaps even greater after living through such times."

Eftemie
Taj glanced over at the lotuses where the old gardener was carefully checking them and then rechecking them. He was very particular on what they had to grow in. Suspecting that they were indeed hardy but still needed some intense care, he wrote He indicated the flowers and that he would wait awhile yet.

He already had plans to speak to Harmodius about his rooms at the pantheon. With Creation once more able to act, there would be that option and he planned to take advantage of it as soon as he could. The thought had been there not to overwhelm the newly returned god. But more than that, other things had been weighing on his mind. Jaster wanted to see Him again and though He was not Destruction whom had drawn Jaster and Taj himself, He was no less. And there was a need to see Him once more before Jaster faded entirely.

"Of course, Taj." she laughed. "Rem will want to ensure you get healthy ones. We are lucky that the water has begun to work here again." Then she frowned thoughtfully. "Yes, I need to get rooms at the pantheon also. I've not had the opportunity before. My own fault. I was slow to move in the beginning." She frowned slightly but then the expression was fleeting as she glanced at the two before her. "Would you like a cup of tea? My rooms are upstairs. I would enjoy hearing about your adventures during this. This time I plan to do more than have parties should the end come, though I fear the only option I truly have is to make someone laugh and hoist my skirts up and run." A laugh slipped free at her slight joke. She was wearing pants.

Cinderfae
She nods in slight agreement, she too would have to find a place within the Pantheon. Cinder still held some distrust of Creation from her experiences with Water; distrust of the living that do not truly understand the gods. Distrust born from realization that at times the gods are much more like mortals then they would like to believe, a slight smile fell on her lips at the thought it was either hearsay or brilliance.

She shifted her gaze to the other goddess allowing the smile to become more full, "it would be a pleasure, and I'm afraid during our 'adventurers' as you call it. It was mostly our hosts at that time..." she pauses in consideration, "but they were perhaps adventurous enough to share in telling."

She turned slightly glancing toward Taj and studying the mystery god for a moment before reaching and touching the side of his face lightly. She then looked to see where Laughter was heading, a small laughter of amusement accompanying the goddess' joke. It wasn't really much of a joke but after the brunt of what was happening had come to an end it felt nice to laugh...though she feared in the near future more turbulence laid ahead.

Eftemie
User ImageTaj winked at Karaskis, leaning forwards to kiss her lightly. Taking her hand, he indicated that they follow Lisana.

Laughter led them to a small room nearby, one she used for visitors so that the comings and goings would not disturb them. Glancing towards Arlecchino who was walking towards them, she stopped after opening the door for the other two gods. "Arle, bring us some tea please."

"Yes, Lady Lisana."
she replied, bowing to all three before turning to leave. It was obvious the other two were gods.

"We will be comfortable in here,"
Lisana stated indicating that they take a seat in the room.

The room itself was heavily furnished, not her choice, but it worked for what she needed. Heavy drapes hung down the windows but were pulled to the sides to leave the thinner curtains in plain view. A few shelves of books stood nearby like silent sentinels as if to ensure the silence of the place. Made of dark cherry, the coffee table stood stoically in the center of it all, empty as if waiting for the tea tray the aoidei would bring.

"Please have a seat and tell me some of the things you saw. I'll try not to demand too many details."
She laughed watching them a moment. "Although I would imagine it would be a rather interesting tale to be written down. A Legends of the Gods sort of thing." Her voice teased though there was a seriousness there. "Perhaps it would change the disbelief of so many."

Cinderfae
Karaskis locked her arm with Taj as they followed Lisana, it seemed strange a social call in such times. But somehow the laughter goddess had made her abode seem comfortable. Smiling Karaskis offered a thankful nod as she took her seat curling her legs up under her.

"Tale of adventure...well it started with a theft. Or rather forceful borrowing on my host's part." Her lips turned in amusement as she glanced over to Taj remembering the events leading up to the acquisition of the ship that took them to space. "I almost feel we should allow the pirate to talk about it, but I have a feeling anything he said on the manner would be more then vividly colored with swearing." Her voice was light, and amused as she spoke over the subject.

"Once things get settled, perhaps you can see some of what we experienced...I realized on our trip why my host loved space so much. It was truly lovely on so many levels. Even with the world breaking down it," pauses and then Cinder's voice is heard somewhat more softly, "it was just harder to see out there...to those that weren't use to it."

Looking somewhat wistful she leans back reaching over to link her hands with Taj's and giving his hand a gentle squeeze. She waited to give Lisana time to ask more about it before going on in the story.

Eftemie
Taj smiled, holding her fingers lightly but firmly in his. He liked Lisana and he was glad that Karaskis seemed to also. She was a bit surprising in that she seemed rather odd, but perhaps that was the very thing he liked about her. But then there were other things he knew also. Jaster being his host was different than Tempest would have been and there were results that even now, he understood but did not question. It was a secret that was only his. At least for now.

Lisana listened carefully to what Karaskis said of the trip to space. Pirates and so much more there. "I would like to go sometime. Even if not in a spaceship if you know the name of the world, Ankou could open a door to it. He did as much for us when we went to Baadris. An amazing desert planet but the statues of Origin are still there." Her teeth tugged her lip for a moment. "I want to go back there and see if anyone survived. The demons attacked which forced as many as we could get through the doorway before it closed. You should take a trip there too one day when we are more certain that things are safe."

Then she laughed. "And pirates usually have colorful things to say. But it might be rather fun to learn a pirate jig or two. Or perhaps a shanty song." She suddenly giggled softly. "Or do only pirates of the seas do such? I've honestly no clue."

Cinderfae
Karaskis smiled listening to the other goddess' speech, chuckling softly as she imagined the pirates they had run into dancing a jig. "Well I think if the pirates we dealt with jigged they would likely be a lot less grouchy." Relaxing some she watched Lisana considering what the other goddess had asked before continuing. Cinder picked up on part of the conversation her personality pushing forward; considering the ease the goddess and host had recently with living as one it was a rather startling development for Karaskis.

"The doors that Ankou opens, has he been able to since the ceremony?" It was then that Karaskis realized what this was over, Cinder had on her mind heavily the fate of her home world. A place that misunderstood her and set her up for fall more times then naught but one that she still worried over and wished to know the fate of.

What would you do if those that hurt you in the past had survived?

A dark feeling pulsed through their minds, Cinder had long ago taken care of the worst of her childhood demons but the thoughts were still there. They weren't alive to survive.

Sighing gently Karaskis turned her attention outwards again, "your not the only one that has places they are hoping to see again," the goddess smiled slightly as she spoke but slight worry was hidden in the swirling flames of her eyes.

Eftemie
Lisana frowned for a moment. "I'm honestly not sure if he can. With the lack of power even though Lord Harmodius is returned to us, I got the impression that there were other things to worry about. I've not seen him since but many try to simply fortify and strengthen what we have here for the moment."

She thought about the sky and other things that were still decaying or dead outside the Pantheon. "I would think that in order to see what is still there, one would need the sky. But I have no idea who or how that could even be done. I think it is something that we simply must wait upon and see if any can get to us from their side of things."

"But I'd say in the meantime, it's going to be a very small party for some time to come." Lisana sighed, then added, "Such weighty things were not my forte before the fading. I remember parties and laughter. This time things are different. The laughter is still there but so are the burst bubbles. But if we could get to Baadris when things are more stable, you should both come with me and see it and the statues. And then I will go to space with you and see what is there. We would have fun I think."

Cinderfae
Karaskis frowned thoughtfully at the sentiment, "well there isn't anything like seeing the stars. And I don't think much will be left if the sky isn't returned." Shifting her gaze from Taj and then Lisana she continued on after a moment, "though I'm not really sure where to begin." Cinder's voice was the one that colored that feeling of doubt - despite being a goddess ... well a reborn goddess her powers and strengths were far from being manifested.

"I think sometime I'd like to see Baadris if it survived...but first things first. We have our own groupings of mortals to watch after. Once we have things more stable we'll need to see what is left." The thoughts of what was going on had her considering that she should get not only rooms within the Pantheon but find out what was being done to restore the sky.

"As for the parities they'll be nice for helping calm nerves. Being overly stressed can be counter productive." Shifting some Karaskis' gaze went back over toward the growing things, "perhaps if you could use some help with the plants...I think I have a mortal that would be interested. Or at least like something to do." Smiling some she decided it would be a good place for Rhys to find some peace as well, attempting to recreate dying machinery she knew was starting to frustrate the boy...plus the brilliant colored flowers appealed to her.

Eftemie
Lisana nodded. "I agree. I have many who need looking after first, though most came from Baadris. I.. We just left too many behind, and the stress from that made many silent. A party helps even if only a short while." Her voice had softened for a moment, but then she smiled brightly. "Of course. Any help would be accepted. Rem, the old gardener from Baadris, seems to have a gift for growing the lotuses. Arabel... I'm not really certain where she came from. She said something about a labyrinth and trouble there. Not entirely certain but she has a gift of magic to make things grow."

She indicated the various pots filled with daisies and other blossoms. "Arabel claims to be a Lady of Springtime and to have that gift more in the early year than the fall. I'm sure she would enjoy some help. Rem is often grousing at her because she is always taking the pots he has others finding for him. It can be quite amusing. I'll see that she knows someone is coming to help and we will see that you have some for yourself in return."

Cinderfae
Karaskis nodded, "many of the mortals among my people are shocked and quieted from the experience. Many lost loved ones...and are having a hard time actually grasping what has happened." Sighing gently she thought, sometimes I do as well.

Smiling she nodded slightly looking to Lisana, "the boy has dark hair, wings, and markings over his left eye." Pausing after a moment she decided she should add a bit more to that, "he is Cinder's son and the lost of technology as well as the sky isn't the most easy for him."

Getting Rhys to work in a garden...that is much more amusing then it should be.

Smiling slightly after listening of Arabel she spoke somewhat thoughtfully, "I would like to have some flowers for myself as well, I think they will be rather lovely once I get my own rooms. Flowers in reds, yellows, and oranges...I think will be very fitting."

Eftemie
Lisana nodded. "I see. My own host was planning to marry. I believe you know him, Taj. Tempest. I don't know if he has said anything but he did not take it well at all."

Taj nodded, writing on his pad,

She nodded. "I have seen him once since he's been back here. It was not a good meeting between us. But I can understand why he feels as he does. He had finally found the one for him."

Mystery glanced at Karaskis tightening his grip on her for a moment to sort of prepare her for what he was to say next. Tempest would have been his host but he had said nothing to the man about this. It would merely cause pain that should not be. Something had changed in the man and after meeting Lisana he understood. Writing carefully, he tried to word it enough that both would understand. It in some way affected them both but not really.

Cinderfae
"I can understand that, but for Cinder it was different to some degree. Her love was the host to water and because of that loss she agreed to become my host." Karaskis considered a moment, "though Cinder never treated Kaelin as she did Merci` - she grew protective...but could not grow to love him." Karaskis offered a smile to Lisana as she finished her thought.

Leaning some she looked over at Taj's tablet he seemed to be writing quite a bit more then usual. Her brow quirked some as she picked up the meaning, matters of the heart and the somewhat winding love she had with Taj made her understanding almost immediate.

Shifting her gaze to look at Lisana she gave Taj's hand a squeeze, waiting to see if the other goddess would pick up on the meaning, "perhaps now though, Tempest will have some other path in his life."

Eftemie
Lisana frowned slightly at the wording. It was a puzzle. A riddle of sorts. She silently stared at the pad and then understanding dawned on her that Tempest had been meant for Taj himself.
And that even they might have picked up on their hosts' feelings in those circumstances. A flicker of worry flicked through her expression as she stared at Taj. Not for herself. For Tempest. A bit of Eftemie stirred but then went silent so little was left to protest what was felt. It faded in the same instant. "You cannot tell him that. He.. it would break him to think that perhaps... He has had enough done to him."

Taj watched her smiling gently as he squeezed Kara's hand. Mystery entirely understood that it was not simply Lisana that had stirred so adamantly on this point. A host had given such feelings to the goddess with whatever lingered of her being to protect the one she loved should he ever need it.

Laughter nodded, smiling somewhat sadly. Sometimes her feelings were too.. mortal? Was there such a thing? "Thank you for that then, Taj. Perhaps with time he will even be able to tolerate me. One can hope."

Turning to Karaskis, he questioned silently if she was ready to go. Only one who knew his expressions as she did would even understand the small hint.

Eftemie
User Image It had been one of those mornings already. Everyone demanding of her and she needed some time to herself. So without telling any of the aoide where she was going, Lisana slipped out the door. She knew that Jhyett had seen her go, but she had also winked at the goddess in understanding. Sometimes Arlecchino pushed too much and with the way things were, Jhyett quite often did the same thing. Both needed a few stolen moments away from everything.

She walked through the grasses, her dress rustling as it caressed the hem. The dress she wore was made by Mian and the silk was a rather interesting shade of blues and violets. Both colors that Lisana dearly loved. There had been little time to herself and as she stepped towards the alcove, partially hidden from sight. There was a highbacked wicker chair situated so that one could easily see what was happening towards the water as well as the pantheon and gardens around it without being seen. The branches shaded, reaching down in an arch so that it was a very quiet place to simply sit without being disturbed.

The first time she had seen it, Lisana had known it would come in handy for her. Granted as goddess of laughter, people and parties were expected of her. But that did not mean she did not need time of her own. She did though she seldom took it as she should. But this day, she was doing so.

With a sigh, she leaned back into the chair, propping her feet up. A small bird chirped overhead as she closed her eyes just leaning back for a few moments. For now, she had a little space from the bustle of the pantheon and she planned to enjoy it.

Merci`
User ImageKaelin took a trembling breath in as he watched Lisana move down the pathway. Okay so it was probably not a good way to start things off by following her, but he couldn't help himself. He'd chanced seeing her leave the pantheon and followed at a discreet distance. Lisana looked so happy he had been hesitant to approach her as she wandered on her own. He had contented himself with watching her.

Now, however, it seemed she had found the place she was looking for. Kaelin noticed the rays of light that found it's way between the branches and caressed her skin. She was just so, beautiful. Though that word didn't seem to do the goddess justice.

He reached up with his fingers and combed them through his hair, making sure his curls were laying straight, he checked his breath and adjusted the silk pants that clung to his hips. The scales that clad his legs peeked above his waistline and reflected the light of the sun as it found them.

'Be calm Kaelin, be calm. She won't bite you, she won't.'

His feet started moving toward her before he could change his mind. Water rubbed his hands together to keep his hands from shaking as he approached her.

Kaelin stopped when he got close enough to politely start a conversation, but when he opened his mouth, he couldn't form any words. Instead he found himself clearing his throat to draw her attention.

Eftemie
User ImageHer eyes blinked open at the unexpected sound of someone. Had she not just sat down? Or had she fallen asleep and been there awhile? For a second she was unsure, but then she saw it was Kaelin, already one of her favorite people. Her lips twitched upwards at seeing him, her eyes sparkling.

For a long moment, she simply watched him. "Kaelin, are you stalking me?" she asked smiling, her eyes locked on his. "I suppose I don't mind since it is you. Una and Nixie are not with you I see." She glanced around, breaking her gaze from his. With a light laugh, she looked upwards at his face, "You have found me out. This is where I come when I need a break from my aoide and their demands. I don't mind sharing it with you, so now it's just our secret."

Sitting up a bit more, she unpropped her feet from the stool so that he could sit. A bit of amethyst sparkle was seen on her ankles as she shoved the skirt of her dress from the seat for him. "Please have a seat. It's been a little while since I've had a chance to speak with you. What have you been up to? Busy I would imagine like the rest of us. I know that Eid, Tajnevaki, and Karaskis have been forging weapons, but I have no aptitude for such."

With a giggle, she added, "I much prefer parties."

Merci`
User ImageHis heart stopped while she stared at him. Had he made her angry? Would she yell at him? He'd disturbed her after all. It took every fiber of his control not to skulk away right then.

Then, something wonderful happened.

She smiled. It was such a simple thing but that one action made all of his nervousness sort of melt away. He moved over to her, lowering himself to sit on the stool near her. "I must confess dear lady that I did indeed follow you. It was wrong of me, but I can't bring myself to apologize for it." His voice was something near normal today, he was obviously not projecting the otherworldly quality it held when he was in the throws of strong emotion. "I promise, however, that I will keep your secret dear one. I would not want to be the cause of any stress for you."

He slipped a hand in the waistband of his pants and pulled from them his flute. It wasn't obvious he had it with him until he pulled it out, and where inside of the pants he kept it would be something of a mystery, until the silk rubbed up against the garter he had clapped around his leg to carry it. His fingers moved over the smooth metal as he answered her questions, "I have been pursuing selfish endeavors. I am afraid that I have no interest in the other gods or what is happening in Harmodius' house. If indeed it is still his house, I am so far removed from the goings on it's actually humorous."

Eftemie
User ImageShe laughed lightly again at his admission, though she had only been teasing him. "Since it is you, no apology is needed. And it's not so much a secret as noone has ever found me here before." A snicker slipped free and she shrugged. "It just seemed like such a nice quiet corner that I could watch without being seen, finding my own amusement without joining in."

"I know because I listen to the mortals, my own next to those of theirs. The people of Baadris are quite interesting." she laughed again, a light lilt to her voice. "I confess that I've a weakness for the silk dresses that Mian makes for me. Fitting takes time and one hears all sorts of things then. Yes, it is Harmodius' house once more and slowly but surely, things are being reclaimed."

"A flute? Can you play? Of course you can or you would not have it. I confess I cannot sing, but I would like to hear you play something." She smiled in delight as she watched him. "You should teach Nixie how to play one day. It might cheer her up a little more to have a warm playful song to work on."

Lisana smiled, a twitch of amusement in the corner of her lips. She was amused at herself as much as his admission. A part of her truly liked Kaelin and his daughters. Perhaps more than she should, but something drew her to him and them. It was not all Eftemie either, but she herself. If they had known each other before, she had no memories of such like most everything else before the fading. But that would not stop her now. She liked him and the warm feeling she got from him whenever she saw him.

Merci`
User ImageHe listened to her quietly, glad for the coloring of his skin for once. The sound of her laughter brought a light blush to his cheeks he couldn't explain. He found himself sorting through the sounds, each sound of joy that came from her seemed to be different, and each one was precious.

His voice was quiet when he responded, "I can play, it isn't really a flute, it's more of a whistle. This one is an Irish Whistle." He pauses before he continues in a rough tone, "I have written something recently that perhaps you would enjoy."

He moves his hands over the shaft of the instrument and lifts it to his lips. Kaelin's eyes drift shut as he exhales, producing a long almost mournful sound. He cracks an eye and gives her a quick smile, "Alright here it is." Water settles in and his fingers start moving quickly, coaxing from the instrument a sort of jig, like one would hear in a bawdy tavern.

His foot taps, obviously helping him keep time as his body sways to the music.

Eftemie
User Image Lisana nodded, listening carefully to him, her attention raptly on his face. She knew little of musical instruments, but some sounded like laughter and that she did remember. A smile crossed her face. The goddess was impressed that he knew so much about the instrument as well as could write something to play. That was far more than she would have been able to do.

"An Irish whistle. I will remember that." she replied watching him closely. Music was not something she did, but she did greatly enjoy it.

Her lips twitched upwards at the mournful sound but she appreciated it too. Laughter was sad sometimes and there was certainly a reason for sad music as much as happy. Her smile widened in appreciation at the sound of his playing. He was quite good and she thought it sounded similar to something that Eftemie had heard once somewhere at a party. A lively tune and she could imagine people dancing to it with delight as her fingers tapped the arm of the chair slightly.

It was obvious Kaelin enjoyed playing and she hoped he continued. She was suddenly certain that he should teach Nixie. Perhaps her rainclouds would be a little less gray. It was certainly brightening her day to listen to him. For a brief moment she wondered if she should get so attached to Water and his daughters. Then she shoved the thought aside giving him her full attention again. She was glad he had 'stalked' her.

Merci`
User ImageKaelin let the music unfold, the tempo picking up as the song progressed. His fingers moved fluidly over the instrument, allowing air to pass through it differently to create the different pitches. It would be quite obvious that the god had intimate knowledge of this particular instrument.

Water ended the song on an upward flourish and moved the metal tube away from his lips. He lowered it to set on his lap and shrugged a shoulder, "I'm not used to writing things of that particular nature, usually they end up much more somber. I... I was thinking of you though when I wrote that one. I thought that something more upbeat was fitting."

Wow, he shouldn't have said that. The god turned his head so he wouldn't have to see the look on her face. Why had he even said that? She didn't need to know what he had been thinking about when he crafted the song. Stupid, stupid...

He cleared his throat a little uncomfortably, "I like this particular instrument for it's simplicity."

That had to have been the most awkward subject change ever. He kept his face turned away from her, but his eyes moved back over to glance at Lisana.

Eftemie
User Image She clapped her hands, laughing in true delight when he was finished, but then stopped at what he had said. For a moment all she could do was stare at him in surprise. "You wrote it for me?"

With a laugh, she jumped forwards tossing herself into his arms and hugging him tightly. "It's wonderful! I love it, Kae!" Without even thinking about it, she shortened his name. Perhaps more familiarity in that than should have been, but it was something she did with people she especially liked. Just as Eftemie had. But then it dawned on her that her actions were even more familiar. Forward is what Eftemie's father would have said, but he had usually been teasing the girl.

Then she blushed suddenly as a bit of warmth at the closeness swept over her. She moved back a bit, simply watching his face for a reaction to what she had done. "Um... I suppose that seems forwards but, well, I... " Then she giggled, shrugging, her eyes amused. She had already done it and she was quite certain he would think her the oddest person he had ever met. But she did like him and a hug had seemed somehow the right thing to do.

"I really liked it." she said softly, teeth tugging her lower lip.

Merci`
User ImageKaelin almost fell off the back of the stool he was so surprised. Instinctively he caught her and wrapped arms around her when she hugged him. His usually Caribbean blue eyes darkened a bit at his confusion.

She wasn't upset with him. This amazing creature was actually welcoming of his small offerings. Kaelin was honestly just a bit stunned that she wasn't derisive toward him, that she hadn't laughed at his song. That he was being allowed to touch her life, even just a little bit, made him feel a strange mixture of fear and hesitation.

Mortals had a term for it, "Waiting for the other shoe to drop."

He wrapped his arms around her and he turned his face just enough to smell her hair. Yes alright so he wasn't perfect, he couldn't help that part of himself. He was a notorious flirt after all.

'Justify it. In the end your not worthy of her either. Your going to end up crushing her, just like you did Morpheus. You'll see the light go out of her eyes too.'

Kaelin loosened his arms when she pulled away and he listened to her. "I must have been gone a long time," He finally said, "that you aren't aware of my reputation. There is very little you could do lady that would upset me in any way. If people are being polite they call me flirtatious, and if they are being truthful they call me an uncontrollable lecher."

Eftemie
User Image She watched him for a moment, then hugged him tightly again for a long moment. Not quite as boisterous but still warm. Then she pulled back to watch him, a little seriousness laced with soft amusement. It was ironic as she had a darker side she avoided.

"Kae, most of us have two aspects. Laughter is not always happy. Sometimes there is a reason for a sad laugh also. Besides," she laughed, raising her chin a bit. "What do I care what others think?"

She reached out, her fingers light as she brushed his cheek. "My host was an absent minded but very loving giving person though a clutz. She had notes all over the place to remind her. In the end, she gave me what I needed simply because I asked. A part of her is still here as much as I am. She fit me perfectly because I am a great deal like she was. People were cruel to her because they did not understand or they did know and were afraid of seeing themselves there within her. I can laugh at myself so they have no grasp on me."

"Your reputation does not matter to me. You do." she stated matter of factly, then laughed softly. "And I thank you for the gift you have given me. It's worth more than all the gold and gems there are."

Merci`
User ImageHe hesitated before he lifted a hand and brushed it through her hair. "You never met my host. By the time I met your Eftemie I was already awakened and in control of this body. I was one of the lucky Gods who had a female host, one would hope that maybe I had learned something from her. Merci was intrigued, but when she realized what was really going to happen she got scared, and she fought me. I don't suppose you know Karaskis?" He paused a moment in his story, "Cinderfae and my Merci were lovers before they were swallowed by this experiment of Harmodius'. Part of me mourns that, I think that is the part of me that will always be Merci. In the end she gave in to me, she tried to pass on what mortal lessons she could. I suppose I was not as forgiving or gentle as you were."

He turned his face to her, so he could look her in the eyes. "Be careful young Lisana. There are many things said about water, all of them true. You want to look deeply before you commit yourself to friendship with me. I am a dangerous creature, and those that are not prepared suffer."

Water allowed his fingers to brush through her hair one last time before he shifted his weight forward. He cradled her gently as he lifted her and settled her back on her chair.

'Scare her, who do you think your protecting? Coward...'

Eftemie
User Image She listened to him, watching his face the entire time. At the mention of Karaskis, she nodded. Lisana knew the goddess, but not the host so she did not interrupt him.

"Truth or not, it does not matter, Kae." she repeated when he was finished. "I remember some of what I was during the fading. It is not something I would like to see again, but I will not deny it is part of me. Just as you do not deny what you think you are. But there is a point where you have to be true to yourself and ignore what others say also."

"Do you really think that someone who loves you truly would care what others say? Do you not think that those who care about you would not see past that?" She laughed, her lips twitching upwards as she stared back into his eyes. "Friendship and love are not always blind. Sometimes they just pretend to be." She teased him deliberately.

Reaching out, she snagged his wrist in her hand gently after he seated her back into her chair. "I never say anything I do not mean. We shall always be at least friends, Kae, no matter what happens." Her voice promised more and it almost surprised her. Almost.

What was it that drew her to him? Some part of her knew Kae needed her. And her laughter. Just as his children did. They were constantly looking for her and she always found time for the girls to make them laugh and have fun.

Merci`
User ImageHis blue eyes didn't leave her face, and the defense mechanism kicked in, "At least friends? Dear Lisana does that mean that we are more then friends now?" The purr in his voice was quite obvious as he lowered himself next to her chair. He leaned in toward her and nuzzled his face into her neck. His hand moved back up to stroke his fingers through her hair, pausing at the nape of her neck in case she should decide to jerk away from him.

The voice was laughing at him. He knew that this would make her shove him away. It would be better to end this quickly then entertain the notion of forever. He didn't want to get his heart set on anything, it was just easier this way.

Kaelin's mouth moved and placed an open mouthed kiss just below her ear. "I can't say I would be adverse to the suggestion that there was more between us then simple friendship..."

Eftemie
User Image"Are we not more than friends already, Kae? Or do you write a song for every goddess that comes along?" she smirked, her voice soft. A small gasp slipped free as he kissed her, a small shiver running through her entire body.

"Hmm.. dessert before dinner, Kae? I had not thought of that." She murmurred softly as she turned very deliberately to face him, her eyes sparkling in amusement. "Be careful what you start. I may finish it." Lisana leaned forwards kissing him on the chin, a great deal of mischief seen in her expression. Reaching out to touch his face, she whispered, "I can't say I am adverse to it either. I was so happy to see you again even if it was Efte's memories that triggered it. I felt it then and I do now. So what do you suggest we do about this? See where it takes us?"

Merci`
User ImageThe voice stopped laughing, in fact the smile and curled his lips did travel to his eyes. "I've only ever played my whistle for Beryl before you. There was a time that the Wind goddess fancied me. She thought I was a gentleman..."

He realized suddenly that she kissed him. Her lips were so soft, and he was distracted from her words momentarily by the gesture. She... liked him? Lisana really liked him? He couldn't find his voice, it seemed his throat closed around any sounds he tried to make.

Water took a deep, calming breath before he tried again. "Are you saying you... I mean... I certainly don't mind leaving things in your hands lady. I have a bad habit of pushing things to far to quickly."

What a cop out. That's right old man, leave it in the hands of the child.

Eftemie
User ImageA faint smile as she watched him. "Beryl... Hmm... Efte had a memory of her. Only a moment though." Her eyes simply gazed at him watching his reaction to what she had done. She and Eftemie had that in common. They never waited to tell someone they liked them. Life and distractions happened too easily and such a thing should never be forgotten but said immediately.

"I'm quite sure, Kaelin. As I said earlier..." she kissed him again on the chin. "I never say anything I do not mean. And as for what we should do. This is a very good start. Sit here with me. Talk to me. Play your flute for me. Hold me close." Moving over in the large chair, she indicated he sit fully beside her. The seat was more than large enough for the two of them. "We will make the most of each moment."

His eyes were beautiful as she gazed up into them. Her lips twitched upwards, curving in mischief. Then she leaned forwards, kissing him fully on the lips. "You had me when you began to play. It sounded like laughter, bright and shining."

Merci`
User ImageHis eyes widened at the kiss, it was far far to quick in his opinion. He had the sudden urge to pick her up, and take her where no one was going to be able to find her. To keep her away from the influences of those around here that would see the flaws in him she was obviously unable to see for herself.

Kaelin remained motionless for a moment after her lips brushed his, and then he made up his mind. The god straightened up and scooped Lisana into his arms. He cradled her against his bare chest and started back the way they had come. His bare feet moved across the ground almost soundlessly.

Why fight it? He could hide her in his rooms for a time, let Nixie and Una torment her. Hiding from the world seemed like a good idea. "I'm kidnapping you. Don't get excited, I haven't decided how long I am going to keep you yet. If you would like we can send a note to your Aoide to let them know, perhaps we could ask for some ransom or something." His tone was getting more playful. "Either way I am going to shut you up in a room, somewhere you can't run away, and make you talk to me."

Eftemie
User ImageLisana blinked in surprise and then burst into laughter slipping her arms around his neck. Should they really be doing this? She didn't know. She really didn't care. It had always been within her to live in the moment and she was remaining true to herself. The fact that she had found someone she truly liked and even wanted did not really surprise her. The timing was what surprised her, but if something happened and it all ended tomorrow, she could at least say she had lived this time to the fullest.

"I'd have walked since I don't mind being kidnapped." She giggled suddenly, but said, " And what are your children going to think? Una would probably tell you that I'm your trouble and Nixie would most likely stare at us and think we are crazy and then grumble. Are we going to be a bad influence on them?" She teased the entire time, but did not let go of him.

Briefly she wondered what her aoide would think. She giggled knowing it did not matter what anyone thought. "No. No note. Let's see what they do when they cannot find me." Mischief in her eyes, she added, "It will be a good lesson for them. If they push me too much, I'll run away or have you kidnap me again. And is talking all you plan? Pity." She smirked, teasing him mercilessly before kissing him on the jaw again.

User Image"You'll have to forgive me Lisana, I am not used to being teased back. Usually my attentions are, well, not welcome." His voice trailed off and he turned his face away from her to get his bearings. He moved his feet to match the path that had brought him to her little hideaway. "I am hesitant to ravish you because I do not know your intentions. You're kind to my girls, and to myself. If I had only myself to think about I would take you back to my room, rip your clothes off, and show you things that would make your hair curl like mine." Water flashed her a very toothy grin. "However I don't have only myself to think of anymore. I can't chance Nixie getting attached to you, and find out your..."

'What, like Morpheus? You love him.'

He stopped talking and his eyes darkened, the lovely blue green of the ocean being replaced by a much darker and more foreboding color. His eyes moved from where he was walking, back to her face. His steps faltered until he stood still, holding her against his chest, cradled in his arms. "I'm afraid I don't remember how to be playful anymore." Pain was tangible in his voice, and he slowly lowers her to her feet. "You are one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen in my life. I tried to think of something to do that would impress you, that would make you swoon. Now I realize that I was being entirely selfish, and not at all fair to you."

Eftemie
User ImageHer eyes watched him for a moment, then she smiled. "So serious, Kaelin." Her hand reached out to caress his face as he put her down. Leaning forwards, Lisana slid her arms back around his neck, leaning against him. "I was not arguing. In fact it was the furthest thing from what was on my mind."

"And perhaps you were being selfish. So was I. I definitely have no objections. Perhaps I have my own ulterior motives which you know nothing about." she laughed, hugging him tightly a moment. She did not want to let go of him. In all that she could remember, she had never met anyone who seemed to need her more than he did. It was not good he was in such a way, but he needed her.

"Laughter lives in moments, Kaelin. Sometimes selfish. Other times charitable, but almost always joyful. And I already love your daughters." Her lips twitched upwards as she turned her eyes upwards to stare into his. "And you. Did you know that? I have been thinking of you since I first met you. I went back over what I remembered from Eftemie also. The way you spent the time with her and how you made her feel. I treasure those things as much as she did, Kaelin. The party and the girls. The feel of your arm around me. I noticed more than you think about that day. The way your eyes are now stormy rather than the warmth of the sun on the water. It was not all for the girls once I met you. You know that, don't you?"

Her eyes lifted upwards and she planted a firm claiming kiss on his lips again. "I knew what your intentions were. Mine were no less. Now I am kidnapping you." Hooking her arm in his, she turned, tugging him forwards on the path again. "Let's go and I will teach you to be playful again." Mischief was in her eyes again. "Or at least a bad joke or two. And I'm not taking no for an answer. Let's go find some privacy to talk."

Merci`
User ImageKaelin remained silent while she spoke, and his eyes stayed locked on her face. He wasn't being fair to her, he had been more inconsistant in the last few minutes then he had right to be. When she tugged on him he didn't resist, allowing her to pull him after herself for a few steps.

Water shifted his arm and moved it in her grasp, until their hands met and he could curl his fingers round hers. "Lisana..." He tugged and turned her so he could wrap his free arm around her waist. Kaelin pinned the goddess there, and he turned his face down and buried it in her hair once more. "I am afraid..." He let the statement stand alone for a moment before he continued. "I have been hot and cold with you, one moment pulling you in and the next shoving you away. I'm sorry, It's not fair to you. Truth is that I want this, I have reams of poetry in my room dedicated to you. I have rare treasures and baubles I have fished from the depths of the ocean for you. I just don't think you know how damaged I really am. I am not an easy fix, and I don't know how free my heart is. I loved Morpheus with everything in my soul."

Water pulled his hand away from hers and showed her the bracelet that circled his wrist, charms dangling from the chain. It was obviously worn, and if she really thought about it there wouldn't be a time she could remember it wasn't on him. "I am a fool. He gave this to me, and I have tried to take it off. I have tried to put him behind me, I am afraid if he ever came back I wouldn't be able to tell him no. I keep trying to tell myself it's alright to move on. He would hate my children, he never wanted any. I come up with thousands of reasons to cut off that part of my life. Every time I tell myself it's okay to get over him, I try to take this off, and I can't."

Kaelin dropped his hand to his side and he stared at Lisana. "So now you know..." He lowered his gaze down and to the side. He really was afraid, and he kept his arm planted tightly around her to keep her from running away from him, because he wasn't sure what he would do if she did.

Eftemie
User ImageWatching him silently for a moment, she pulled the vague memory of Morpheus forward from Eftemie's rememberances. The god-killer incident. He had been there. Reaching upwards, she touched his cheek gently. "Afraid? We are all afraid, Kae. So much is different this time and we feel so much more than before. Did you think telling me this would send me running away?" A laugh slipped free, musical and alive. Brushing her lips across his, she said, "You may not know me as well as you think. Anything worth having is worth fighting for. And I warned you that I never say anything I do not mean. You have me."

"I'd be a fool to say I'm not afraid also. My host's lover is here and when he looks at me I see the hatred in his eyes. It's not so much aimed at me as at my actions in taking her from him, and my appearance- the part of me that still resembles her. We all have.. what is the word she would have used? baggage? Yes, that's it. We all have baggage that must be dealt with sooner or later, but nothing worth having is ever easy. Haven't you learned that by now?"

She reached out to touch the bracelet, then undid the clasp herself taking it from him. For a moment she held it in front of him, then laughed. Tucking it into a hidden pocket in her dress, she said, "This makes no difference to me. It is only a bauble representing something that is no longer and I know where to put it to good use. With time those memories will not be painful, they will not matter except as part of your life and who you are. A step to me. And even then we will have each other." Wrapping her arms around him, Lisana just held him tightly for a moment, kissing his bare shoulder.

As she moved back, the mischief was once more in her eyes and face. "Now, show me these rare treasures and baubles you have for me. And I want to hear all the poetry." Lifting her chin upwards, she kissed him on the lips before turning back to the path. "And yes, I'm being selfish." She took his fingers in hers again and tugged him forwards.

Merci`
User ImageHe wasn't sure what to do for a moment, and his eyes moved down to his bare wrist. He'd forgotten what it was like not to have the little metal pieces tickle his skin. Kaelin moved his eyes back over to Lisana and he didn't move his hand away from her when she tugged on him.

He followed her quietly as they made their way up the path, the grass swaying in the light breeze as they walked. Birds seemed to chirp from right over head, and the sun continued to shine. The god snapped out of his reverie and he quickened his step and scooped her back up into his arms, barely missing a step as he carried her back to the pantheon in silence.

Kaelin really did hope his daughters were busy for the moment, though when he wanted to be alone that didn't matter. He had ways of being sure his girls were protected from him and his moods, his perversions and his fetishes. They were his little pearls after all.

He carried Lisana like she weighed almost nothing, shoving into the building with his shoulder and mounted the stairs that lead to his small domain. Kaelin didn't look at her, and he didn't say anything, that is until he moved through the crystalline portal that seperated his warren from the rest of the world.

Water put the goddess on her feet and pushed her up against the door, pinning her there with his body. He planted his hands on either side of her head. "First of all," His voice was gruff as he spoke, "If someone hurts you I will destroy them. I am not at my full potential but I can do things to make people extremely unhappy. Second, if your mine, then I suppose I don't have to act the gentleman all the time..."

He trailed off and he moved a hand to catch her chin, lowering his mouth over hers to steal from her a kiss. Not the chaste kind either, no, the plundering, tongue twisting kind that makes your knees go weak.

Eftemie
User ImageFor a moment she was surprised that he went along so docile. But then he scooped her up and moved quickly towards the pantheon. She broke into giggles, wrapping her arms around his neck in more astonishment. Let them all think they were crazy. She didn't care.

She barely had time to more than glance around, before he had set her back on her feet. The giggles and excitement washed over her as he pressed against her. In that moment that she watched him, nothing else mattered. Her arms remained around his neck as she listened to his words.

Her lips twitched upwards at his words. "It goes both ways, Kae. First, if it's you and I, then I'm not letting you go and it's only me. Second, I hope you won't act the gentleman all the time."

No sooner had she gotten the last word out then he was kissing her. Her arms wrapped around him possessively as she moved back against him. A thrill slid through her entire body as she returned the kiss as demanding. Without a doubt, Lisana knew she did love him and the weakness in her knees proved it.

Heaven help Morpheus if he tried to come between them because he would find himself in big trouble. She would make Kaelin laugh again and be happy no matter who tried to come between them.

Merci`
User ImageKaelin's arm slipped around Lisana's waist and he pulled her flush up against his body. His other arm moved so his hand rested between her shoulder blades, securing her so she couldn't pull away from him. His mouth moved with hers in a dance as old as time, something he had practiced at, and become quite good at.

It was some moments before he pulled his lips from hers, nibbling her bottom lip delicately as he did so. "I promised you that I would kidnap you so we could talk." His voice was a purr, as he spun her around and started backing her across the room. "That and small eyes can spy us were we are. I am sure Nixie would assume I was trying to eat you. The last thing I want to do is traumatize my girls. Una on the other hand, she might know exactly what I am about. She is wise beyond her years."

Kaelin guided her feet down to his private room, with water falling in cascades down the sand colored walls. Deep pools, with wildly colored fish darting between rich water plants, lined the walls of his small personal domain. Only when he had the backs of her knees up against the bed that rose from the center of the room, did he let go of her. Water gave her a gentle nudge, encouraging her to fall backwards into the overstuffed, amazingly comfortable, nest of cushions that adorned this bed. "If I am doing something you don't like.." He reached a hand forward and laid his fingers against her collar bone, "Simply tell me Lisana. I do not want to scare you." Those fingers trailed across her skin until they reached the first buttons on her silk dress. His eyes moved up to lock with hers as his thumb popped the first button open.

Eftemie
User ImageBy the time he had finished kissing her, Lisana was warm. She was very warm and shivering lightly but not from cold as a faint blush crossed her entire body. Something far more intimate and thrilling than cold could even understand lay waiting for them both.

"Yes, we do not want the girls to grow up faster than they should." she agreed, watching his eyes as she moved with him. She knew he would stop if she protested. Lisana had no intentions of stopping or protesting what was happening between them. She had been thinking of him since that day of the party, caught by what she had seen of him. Something was here and she did not plan to halt but fully intended to explore it.

Feeling the bed behind her knees, her eyes gazed downwards quickly but then back up to watch him in amusement. The cushions were as comfortable as she had thought they would be when she fell back into them. When he unbuttoned the first button on her dress, she laughed, her gaze on his. "And you did not think I would know what you were about? If I did not want to be here, I would have stopped at the door." She smirked, leaning upwards slightly to kiss him as she pulled him towards her. The last thing she was doing was letting him go and her fingers slid down his side to the top of his trousers. "Perhaps it's my motives you should be worried about and not your own."

Merci`
User ImageHe returned her smile and lowered himself onto the cushions and crouched over her, his eyes dark now but not from anger or bitterness. There was a playful, mischievous smile that curved his lips as he settled a knee between hers. "Then I will dispense with the games my lady, and give you the proper attention a woman of your caliber deserves..." His voice trailed off and he leaned forward to place his lips over hers once more.

He worshiped her, lavished her body with the attention it craved. Kaelin wrapped himself in her and held her close, so she couldn't escape him, not that she wanted to. His mouth and hands, experienced in the ways of love, showed her the depths of his desire for her.

The silken clothing the had been dressed in before lay in tatters on the sandy colored marble floor. Pillows were strewn, pell nell, around the bed. None of this mattered to Kaelin, because he was tangled in sheets, with the woman he had been fantasizing about. He wasn't sure how long he wanted her. Curiously however this felt right. Like pieces of a puzzle that slip together so easily, and create a larger, brighter picture.

Maybe it was the moment, maybe not, but somehow even the feelings he had for Morpheus seemed to pale to the happiness he felt at this moment. Kaelin's fingers brushed through her hair again, though this time it was slightly more tangled.

Eftemie
User ImageShe curled closer to him with an amused sigh. This felt right and just as she thought it would be. Peaceful. All her doubts of the previous days about her feelings for him fell away at his touch. In those moments she truly understood what she had taken from Eftemie and Tempest. A part of her was sad about that but if not then she would not have this- have Kaelin. And she wanted him with every portion of her heart. That she would never be sad about because this was where she wanted to be.

Reaching for him, she kissed his neck murmurring in amusement. "Remind me to dance for you later. And I suppose," she smirked stating softly, "I shall have to find some of your clothing to wear back to my rooms. Eventually. The headlines would state "Goddess of Laughter Goes Streaking." otherwise" Breaking into laughter, she turned to watch him a moment. "I've been doubting what I felt at the party trying to decide whether to come see you or not. But I could not come up with an excuse other than the girls and I could not bring myself to use them like that. My own insecurities in thinking that you would reject me. So I hesitated." The admission came easily for her now and the words rolled off her lips as she watched his eyes. Kissing his jaw, she said, "Now it seems rather silly and a waste of time."

Merci`
User ImageHe quirked a brow, his arm snaking over the side of the bed for a couple pillows. Kaelin used them to prop himself up on, getting comfortable, so he could hold her more securely. The god listened to her, and realized that he really had been acting foolish. "How about we make a deal? You dance for me, and I'll find you some clothes?"

The sly smile was on his lips when he pretended to get it, "Oh you said later. And here I was hoping I would get dancing before you managed to find a way to cover yourself." Kaelin canted his head and moved the sheet a little bit, peeking under it. "My your beautiful, definitely a goddess but I think they got your domain wrong. You are certainly no laughing matter. Possibly a goddess of beauty in disguise?"

He dropped the sheet and rolled her so he could put his arm around her, and she could rest her head against his bicep. "This is probably going to come out wrong, but let me say it anyway. Why would I reject such a wonderful creature? I don't deserve you, I really don't. I am not planning on telling you the depths of my depravity, because I want to keep you in the dark as long as possible."

Eftemie
User ImageLisana smiled, her eyes watching him until he lifted the sheet. Breaking into laughter, she shook her head, curling up against him, her fingers tracing down the center of his chest. "You have me now uncovered. There is something to be said for belly dancing behind transparent veils and clothing. It makes you want wonder and want more." Her lips twitched upwards in mischief as she gazed at him.

"And they got it right. Laughter suits me. In all its aspects." she replied, watching him a moment. Raising an eyebrow at his words on himself, she studied him for a moment. There was more than he thought between them. "Have you never heard that Laughter can be cruel, Kaelin? At times I see glimpses of the end. Brief lights before they fade without entire understanding. But the fading was not my best aspect. Laughter can be vain, petty, ridiculing and cruel. Not simply sad or joyful and merry. We all have those things within us. Even Light that professes purity and clarity can blind and burn. You do yourself a disservice by thinking it should matter and simply accept who and what you are. Even Lord Harmodius has Lord Destruction. Seas are meant to be warm and calm or stormy and wild. You deserve me and I was foolish not to have come before. So.. " she suddenly smirked again, challenge in her eyes, bursting into laughter as she watched his expression. "We perfectly fit. And I could prove that. Again."

Merci`
User ImageKaelin watched her and pretended to think for a moment or two. "I don't know, maybe I do need another demonstration. I wasn't paying much attention to that really. You were quite distracting with your moaning." Kaelin couldn't help the dastardly grin on his face. He was enjoying the banter. It was nice to hold someone, and for once, not wonder how long it was going to last.

She was right. That was simply all that needed to be for the moment.

"After all I would be a fool to turn down such a lovely offer." Kaelin turned his head and brushed his cheek along the top of her head. He did so enjoy her scent. He shifted his body so he could face her more fully. "How about instead of making you dance for me, we go over to my pool? It's quite lovely, and the fish don't bite." Water brushed his hand up along her temple, playing with the hair that fell down next to her face.

Eftemie
User ImageShe giggled moving closer to him, her finger trailing down his arm. "Mmmm... it would be a pity not to accept that challenge."

At the mention of the pool, she smiled widely, eyes watching him closely. "I love water." A faint smirk slipped across her face at the small pun before she continued. "So did Eftemie. She'd go down to the cove and skinny dip when noone was around." Her face got suddenly serious as she very slowly and innocently stated, "But if we are going swimming, I will have to go find a bathing suit, Kae." She simply watched him catching the expression on his face at her words before breaking into giggles because she simply could not hold it in any longer.

As if she needed a suit by this point. He'd already seen it all.

Merci`
User ImageHis brows furrowed for a moment as he stared at her. A suit? Kaelin couldn't stop the confusion from wandering across his face. It was then she started laughing. It took him a moment to realize she was joking. Water growled playfully and swung his legs over the side of the bed. He straightened, and the light in the room played over his skin, making the blue tones and hues shift, almost like the surface of the water he ruled. He turned, unabashedly naked, and picked her up from the bed. "Your wearing a suit my dear. Mortals have a term, I believe it is 'Birthday Suit'."

Kaelin lowered her to her feet next to the pool and waited until she was steady before he stepped into the water. Lowering himself to sit on the edge, he immersed his legs in the liquid. The god's legs started fusing together, flesh and scales sliding until where two limbs once where, a single tail was formed. He flipped it up, the bright green fin flipping water up on Lisana before Kaelin slipped into the pool completely. "Coming in?"

Eftemie
User ImageShe laughed, her lips curving upwards as he moved them to the pool. Eftemie had been more modest than she was. Laughter was forward sometimes and Lisana suited her station. As the water droplets hit her, she moved into the water. The flashes of color caught her eyes as she spotted some of his fish and then glanced over at him. His tail sparkled and she watched it for a short time before stepping deeper into the water.

"Beautiful." she said as she moved to wrap her arms around his neck. Kissing him on the lips, she said, "I love you, Kaelin." Her lips curved upwards as she leaned forwards whispering in his ear. "I like the tail too." Her fingers slid into his hair as she simply leaned against him. "I think I shall let you kidnap me for several days and let everyone else worry about what to do for a short time."

She would send a note to Hasheem so that her 'guards' would not be out breaking down doors looking for her. That much she would do, but there was no reason for everyone else to know and be bothering them. She wanted this time with Kaelin and she was going to have it. Selfish but she was so at times. This was simply one of them and she was happy for the first time in a long time. Noone was going to ruin that.

Eftemie Solo

Lisana spent one or two days at the forge just watching what was going on. She was amazed at what Tempest and Hasheem’s father were able to accomplish. Their attention to detail would make the enchantments very handy to use. Tempest had never done anything like this but he was attempting it or so Touran had explained to her. He had also said that the man had conjure magic and was able to create water and various foods from thin air.

She had no hard feelings for the man, though she knew he had been meant for Mystery rather than Jaster. His disappearance had sealed his fate for the stone and to become the god. Eftemie would have understood so too did Lisana. The pain of losing the girl had been too great. All she could do was hope that he would find another who would mean as much to him as Efte had.

Watching for a few moments, she realized that he might be good at this. Turning away, Lisana nodded to Touran. The man watched her leave and then moved towards Tempest. He stood at his side watching him a long moment.

“A bit more focus on that, Tempest. It will do better. It must be kept steady all through the process. If it is strong at the beginning and weak at the end, it will shatter. If it is weak at the beginning and strong at the end, it will shatter. The same for the middles of each piece, but you are doing well,” Touran stated smiling in approval of the first two pieces.

“It gets tiring.” The man replied as he stopped entirely.

“Then you take a moment or two and rest. Then you begin again. That may seem a waste of time but in the long run, it is not. It accomplishes more than trying to push and push.”

“I see. I will try that over the next couple days and see what happens then.” Tempest nodded, refocusing himself on the blade.

Touran watched him the rest of the afternoon as he himself enchanted the weapons made. Taj and Saljin were both gone this day. They were ahead and needed a break. Hasheem came by about noon bringing lunch for everyone. As they had their tea and food, Touran and his son spoke of the various things going on around the Pantheon. The addition of more people who continually showed up was slowly decreasing. It had been sparse in the beginning and then it had picked up for many months. Now it was dwindling again. The few stragglers were always welcomed and soon integrated into the life around the Pantheon.

By the end of the day, Tempest was doing much better. Touran checked his work, trying to see if he could shatter the spells. The first two he was able to break the magic, but each one after that point, held strong. Nodding in appreciation, he said, “Tempest, these are really good. I think you have the hang of it now. Just remember that the more you use it, the better you will get and the stronger your spells will be. Just do not forget to leave some energy for your conjuring. If you do not practice it also, one will fade as one increases. You want both to increase.”

“I will remember, Touran,” he grinned. “I would have liked to have seen Baadris I think.”

“Maybe you will one day. If anything is left of it, I would like to return to visit also,” Touran replied. “The sand, the heat, the light… I miss it all. Maybe one day.” Turning back to his work, he said softly, “When I do this, I am back there. I remember each moment.”

Tempest nodded. “I imagine it was exciting. Maybe I will go with you. Maybe.” He hoped one day they did return. There was still no sky, but the gods were gaining in strength. Who knew what they could accomplish with a little more time?
