The flames chased after both Hunters and Halloween protectors as the fleeing lead everyone on a merry chase to the rabbit hole. Through the chaos and confusion, there were students, flames, yelling-

- And the Hunters moved fluidly, everything set in plan. Everything set in motion.

"We are all done on our side." The voice crackled to all the Hunters within the parking lot vicinity: it was enough. Moving ahead of the group, Caelius simply stopped and shifted his weapon, a shockwave blasting through the obscured trees and branches. A 'door', their exit, waited for them ahead. He turned back for just the briefest of seconds, giving the horsemen a mocking smile, before disappearing into the portal. The others followed suit one after another, but even as they left, the door did not disappear completely, lingering, inviting. Waiting.

Even the strongest of Amityville creatures did not dare to enter into the Hunters' domain. The fight was over.

THE DECOY
THE HUNTERS HAVE ENTIRELY RETREATED.

- While it is an option to chase after them into the door, is this really what you want to do?
- This is now a QUESTIONING and quick ESCORTING period: staff can now talk and escort students out of the danger zone, especially before the bogeymen arrive on the scene.
- Students, to talk to a staff member, simply QUOTE YOUR TARGET. When you are done, simply post any reaction post and post an EXIT.
- All NPCS and Horsemen may also choose to interact and talk with each other before posting an EXIT, feel free to leave a reaction post!

As Invictus snatched her out of the air, she screamed, agony and hatred dripping from from the raw sound. The arms wrapped around her waist stopped her in her tracks, jerking her out of the flames and back into the safety of the snowy blacktop, but she was not grateful or pacified by the gentle whispered words in her ear. Even pressed as she was, her back against his chest, she thrashed in his grip, her nails digging into his arm as she struggled to get away, wings pinned between their bodies.

"No Invictus NO they're going to DIE," she hissed, her hand curled around his forearm, writhing and clawing for them as she struggled against him. It was no use -- he was the smallest of the four, but she had never doubted his strength, none in either of their minds that it was a futile effort on her part. Yet she could no more relax in his grip than he could let her go, and so he let her burn off her rage in his arms, screaming threats at them across the barrier of flame.

"Someday war may die, and you merda may relish in your victory, but you will never cheat Death. HEAR ME MASTERHUNTER, SHE WILL COME FOR YOU. After I have peeled every inch of flesh from your broken, bleeding body, only then will she come, and you will BEG FOR HER MERCY."

Stilling finally, she snarled at the hunters, still coiled tight against Conquest as she spat into the snow.

"MORTI VENATOR FUTATRIX."

Desu-chan just made the saddest face she possibly could at the rolling pin got her and the huntress vanished.

;~;

NOW WHO WOULD SHE FIGHT TO THE DEATH WITH?

Sitting on the ground, Desu-chan began to pout. In her fit on angst, she threw the rolling pin through the portal.

SHE WOULD HAVE HER REVENGE SOMEDAY.

He knew she'd have gone through that portal if he let her go, and for that reason he needed to hold onto her - keeping her warm and angry form pressed against him even as she clawed at his clothing to get him to free her. It was perhaps only said clothing that kept him from having his arms shredded by her angry claws that were not meant for his flesh, but that of another - of something raw-er and more...bloody.

Not to say that Eris was incapable of ripping the flesh off of any halloween-creature either, but her threats meant much more when one was completely and totally mortal - weapon or not.

Still, even with his head resting against the back of her shoulder as she thrashed in his hold, he played what had just happened over in his head. They had fled the scene with nothing to show for it - no trophies, no threats... but perhaps the information about that treaty was enough for them to know. Or perhaps they'd left something that they needed to look into finding here that would serve the Horsemen more use than the Hunters would have liked.

Either way, Invictus couldn't be happy with the situation - perhaps the only man in the world who wouldn't find some silver lining to holding a beautiful woman in his arms (thrashing or not), but he didn't speak again to try and calm her. He knew better than to interrupt her when she was on a roll.

Instead, he brushed his thumb across her shoulder in a slow motion, as though it would help somehow.

Perhaps, it would not be Connie's gentle demeanor, even though he expressed such simmering rage underneath that small tiny exterior, that would get to Eris. In a movement that none of her fellow siblings saw, their backs turned toward her previously unmoving form .. Aisa's bloodied hands wrapped around the heir of War's neck instead, the blood staining Eris's pale shoulders, making what was not covered by her crimson dress a matching shade.

"We will, Eris." Her soft voice injected through the conversation, slicing through like a leaf. Her voice was weak, although conscious, a rarely used tone since Death was not often on the brink of her own domain. "We will. Your healing worked, see?" She referenced to her barely standing form, tipping her head in Connie's direction. Lovely Connie, even if they lost what should have been obvious, he was always there to point it out. The day he wasn't would be a dire one indeed. Even though the heir of Death stood, with the dripping of red in a wide expanse over the snow around her, Connie would recognize that she hadn't healed at all. It were a willpower that followed their prideful clans..

It was also that precise, eerily calm nature of Death that prevented her from running into the ocean of wrath that Eris had fallen into. She chuckled, her fingers brushing against Eris's chin with a feathered touch. She embraced Eris from behind, her arms wrapped around her neck, partially using Connie as support as her shoulder leaned against his.

"War will never die. Sweet, if you die, who would whisper those sweet words to me? Connie, don't let her go .. too far away from us. Find Cym. Is she still staring at the sky? That sounds like a rather pleasing idea, don't you think?"

Aisa's form sank against Eris and Connie's, evidently, the two severe wounds that both the doctor and female hunter dealt to her a severe blow, her eyes closing into a temporary oblivion. Her thoughts and words were fragmented, her hand dropping limply from her Eris's chin. Her shoulders swayed, away from the two heirs.

Once, Gene was on the solid ground.

Then, Gene was in the air.

Now, Gene was on her rear, dizzy from being sent sailing. Honestly, what in the Hell just happened here? There was a tree that spawned little Christmas hellions, fire, Reapers in white coats, a shock wave, and now some kind of portal? None of this was making any sort of sense to Gene. The pine cone concussion probably wasn't helping with her cognitive abilities, though.

Thankfully, she was able to recognize the school secretary. He always had the answers, right?

"Excuse me, Mr. Arel? What... just happened?"

The ninja stopped just short of the portal, flickering back to visibility and standing stock-still for long moments as he mastered his temper. No. It would be nothing short of stupidity to follow the Hunters into their lair alone. His hands flexed, fingers elongating briefly into razored claws, then returning to normal.

He placed himself in front of the portal, turned to face the parking lot, and waited impassively, blocking the mockingly inviting doorway. They had kept Amityville safe; now he would keep the young and stupid from being too stupid.

It wasn't hard for Arel to follow the mess of debris that the trail of chaos had left behind. With a few curses, shaking his head at some the garbage lying on the ground, he finally emerged victorious somewhere next to Ninja-san, eye-ing the portal reproachfully: it was almost a relief to see the edges fade away slowly, but surely collapsing on itself.

The secretary looked around for a second, trying to locate Saika, the Trick-or-Treater who had run away with the snowglobe, hoping for a very brief second that she actually knew what she was doing. Considering that she had the fate of Amityville in her hands, it would probably be a Very Bad Thing if he was out of a job, again. The flames dying down in the distance was also good news, the bad news however, was the crowd that it was beginning to attract, especially the students nearing the portal area. And students pretty much asking him questions he had no answers to.

"Nothing happened here," Arel practically panicked at the bogeymen who were headed in their general direction, hiding behind the Heirs as he talked, "Um, there is nothing to see here. The danger is over, it was probably some harmless joke, really. Good bye."

He hastily looped around the two bogeymen who pretty much pushed aside Ninja-san to eye the remaining fragments of the portal - which snapped up and closed in a rather timely manner - and snuck out the other direction. The only thing on his mind, and on the forefront of several others after the fight was how exactly they knew about that treaty with the Four Clans? It felt almost as if the Hunters were one step ahead.

As soon as they were far enough away from the flames that Zar could actually gather up his wits enough to see where they were, he realised they'd followed the unknown reaper chap and the very dangerous students. This didn't bode well to Zar and as soon as he actually could, he dug in his heels and tried to haul Al to a stop, wether he succeeded or not witnessing the man he'd mentally labelled as some sort of very powerful reaper, walk into the portal and out of sight, followed by his comrades. He gave the lingering portal a frown as if expecting it to burst into flames like everything else seemed to do today, but it did not. He went no closer to it however, still acutely aware that between himself and it lay the individuals he had labelled as the most deadly of the two dangers, he had no idea who the horsemen were, only that they fought like fiends and to all appearances, weren't entirely grounded in sanity either. Especially the screaming female currently being restrained by some the others.

"Lets.. not go any closer to those rebel students" he muttered close to Al's ear. "They are extremely dangerous. I don't really want to ..end up back in the infirmary again." he still clearly blamed them in error for the fire.

And then he spotted Arel, remembering the man from the near-miss with the boogeymen and the school, he saw the secretary as about one of the only sane people in the whole of Amityville as it was. And here he was saying it was nothing, probably just a joke, fobbing off the whole thing. He seethed with anger. Did this mean the Maul attack had been nothing but a joke too? His pupils properly receeded to slits as he practically hissed, feeling surprisingly betrayed in his misunderstanding. He had seen the man as a sane individual in all this chaos, but to him, here and now, it looked like he was another person out to shelter this inexcusable behaviour.

"Then Sir." the word Sir was said in just a way to make it sound like a term of contempt rather than respect. "Are the dorms still intact to go back to? Or has another harmless student joke rendered them off limits?" because he badly wanted to go home and lock his dorm door. He could only frown as Arel snuck off however, all the more irritated, assuming the secretary hadn't even heard him.

He turned his attention to the boogeymen instead, affording them a great deal more politeness as he added in a more wheedling tone "I don't suppose you sirs could tell me if the school is accessible at this time so I can get out of your collective hair?"

The ninja gave the boogeymen a great big friendly smile. It was almost totally hidden under his mask. Oh, silly, clumsy him, it seemed that he was having so much trouble getting out from underfoot~ he was terribly sorry about that~ he'd go on and go about his business, oops was that your foot, so sorry~

He did get out of the way.

Eventually.

The heels did it. Al screeched to a halt as the sensation of hooves digging into ribs really wasn't something he was agreeable to. Whipping his head around about to question the offending action when Zar explained on his own what the deelio was. He still snorted in annoyance though at the idea his ribs were now bruised for doing what Zar asked. Not that he'd complain out loud after all that has happened at this point.

Still.

He watched as Zar threw fits and accusations wildly. Sneaking up behind him to touch him on the small of his back with the palm of his hand.

"Zar?" He spoke like it was a question.

"You could come stay at the cabin with my family for a day or two until things calm down?" He raised his brows trying to smile feebly in effort to endear the fussy demon into quelling his fury.
