Zeo walked in and seen the outline of Zan's wings." Zan?! " She said, running to him. She took off her jacket and wrapped it around him. This is all my fault. She thought to herself. " Cmon Zan. Get up and lets go back to the house. "

Zeo looked at him with worry in her eyes. " Zan you are almost completely frozen. I'm sorry if you find life at my house terrible, but I'm not going to watch you freeze to death on my account. Now please. Lets just get back to the house so you can warm up. And put on my jacket until we get there. " She said, expressing her concern.

Zeo caught him as he fell. She then swung his arm over her shoulders and half drug half carried him back to the house.

Zeo brings Zan inside and lays him on the couch. She looked toward the fireplace. She threw a few of the chopped pieces of wood into the fireplace. She then struck a match and kept a watch on the flame. She quickly threw it in the fireplace. She ran upstairs and grabbed a blanket and returned to the living room and placed it on Zan.

Zan's wings began to thaw out and he slowly started to open his eyes. "Where am I?"

Zeo sighed in relief, seeing him back conscious. " You are back at the house. At least you are alright. " She said.

Zeo looked at him and said " Of course I brought you back. Its because I didn't want you to freeze to death. Believe it or not, I care about you Zan. I don't want you to get hurt. "

Zeo turned away to keep a close watch on the fire. No matter what, I will never trust fire again. She thought as she remembered the night her mother died. She looked down from the flames, trying to push the memory to the back of her mind.

Zan watched the fire and slowly drifted off to sleep.

Zeo looked at Zan and smiled, realizing he fell asleep. She stood up gently and moved to the recliner and sat there, just watching the fire as the memory kept resurfacing.
